Reviews

This stunning and stylish house is perfectly located in the charming village of Portscatho. This desirable holiday destination offers guests all that you would need for a great holiday, pubs, cafes and restaurants, little local shops and art galleries. Close by you are also spoilt with a choice of glorious beaches, lively fishing harbours to explore and award-winning gardens just waiting to be discovered.

In contrast to the name, Little Croft is a wonderfully spacious three bedroom detached home, the ground floor layout offers a comfortable sitting space around the fire complete with comfy sofa, chairs and Smart TV. This relaxing space leads on to the light and bright dining-area with its wall of glass and beautiful parquet flooring, the perfect spot to enjoy dinner with family or friends overlooking the pretty garden.

When hunger calls, cooks in the party will enjoy rustling up a tasty treat in the fabulous Shaker-style kitchen, solid wood surfaces over cupboards a shade of porcelain opening onto the dining-area and beyond to the garden, make this a pleasing and sociable space. Washing up may become a pleasurable task in the double Belfast sink, alternatively load up the dishwasher and let it do the work! The thoughtful owners have also provided guests with a Nespresso machine and the most enormous fridge/freezer with room for an abundance of fresh foods and chilling bottles.

On a warm summer evening, or a bright and beautiful morning, enjoy a warm croissant with fresh juice and coffee or a glass of your favourite tipple with a tasty nibble on the side. Later in the day cook up a feast of fresh local produce to share out onto the terrace whilst chatting about the wonderful day that is drawing to a close and as the light starts to fade, sit late into the evening until the stars appear twinkling above. During the day this established and very private garden is a grown-up space to relax and spend time and if a quiet space is required, head around to the little enclosed patio to the side of the house where you can also take shelter from the sun.

When it's time for bed choose from three lovely bedrooms, the first with twin beds can be found on the ground floor at the front of the house. The second bedroom on the first floor, at the rear of the house, enjoys the sea views across the rooftops from the Juliet balcony, this room also features a versatile 'zip and link' super-king bed. The third of the bedrooms, also on the first floor, features a king-size bed, en suite shower-room and makes the most of the sea views once you open up the French doors. There is also a family bathroom on the first floor with roll-top bath, so ideal if three couples are staying as each bedroom has its own bath/shower room, useful for a family too as no queuing necessary!

Little Croft was a delight. Warm, clean, cozy but spacious & very comfortable! We will be back when we return to Portscatho. Short walk to the shop & village with local walks a treat. Loved it ! Thank you !

Mrs Maxwell

Mr Mooresmith

Great property. Spacious, great bathroom facilities. Warm and cosy in colder months. Lovely large tables, inside and in garden, perfect for family gatherings. Clean, modern, and ideally situated.

Mrs McCourt

Fantastic property in an idyllic village location with 2 fabulous pubs/restaurants on the doorstep. Also wonderful walks and the hidden hut a short walk away Picturesque views from the upstairs bedrooms. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again. Loved every minute

Mr Burr

Little Croft has been beautifully renovated and is the best furnished/equipped cottage we have stayed at in Portscatho/Gerrans area. It was a joy to stay there for the week a real home from home. Liked that we could park the car on the drive!

Mrs Williams

Thank you for an amazing 2 week stay at Little Croft. The property was brilliant, excellent location and couldn't have asked for more!

Mrs Tynan

Little Croft is a wonderful, comfortable, well positioned property near Portscatho. It is well situated for the bus, the beach, the restaurants etc. Parking for 2 cars was an added bonus but something that is important to us. We had an amazing 2 week break there and did not want to come home! We would all highly recommend this property to anyone; families, couples, singles and so forth. Attention to detail was outstanding; the kitchen was equipped with good quality everything. Loved our stay there and would definitely return.

Mrs Kershaw

This is a beautiful property, just as it appeared on the photos. Well situated, just a short walk to the village. Well decorated and equipped. Very clean. Comfy beds. A problem we had was sorted out very quickly. Lovely views from the bedrooms. Would recommend.

Mrs Bishop

Fabulous cottage. Beautifully decorated to a high standard. Little croft had everything you needed. One of the best cottages we have stayed in. Just a short walk into Portscatho and the coast path.

Mrs Lee

Enjoyed a wonderful stay here for the new year, Fabulous place, so comfortable, immaculately presented, never been in a holiday home this well equipped, it makes such a difference to a relaxing stay. The owner has clearly considered everything and we were delighted, fabulous location, great outdoor space and everything was done with quality and a sea view to top it off! Everything within easy walking distance. Can’t recommend this cottage highly enough.

Mrs Hall

A beautiful well equipped house in a great location. Close to excellent beaches and a lovely pub.

Mrs Pearmain-Timms

We just feel so very lucky to have discovered Little Croft and to have secured a last minute booking in 2024

Mrs Harrison

A beautiful, spacious and light property which the whole family (age 6-80) loved. It had the best kitchen/dining area we've ever experience in at least two dozen different holiday stays. Wonderfully equipped and decorated to a really high standard with comfortable beds, sofa and arm chairs and outdoor furniture. A stone's through from the Hidden Hut and Standard Inn - we loved the path into Portscatho and felt we arrived there in no time for daily supplies and swims.

Mrs Hall

What a fabulous stay we had at Little Croft. It was so good we extended our stay. The kitchen was one of the best equipped that we have stayed in, in a holiday cottage. Would highly recommend, it felt like a home from home.

Mr Board

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Little Croft. What a lovely place, spacious, clean and tidy. The open plan kitchen, dining area and lounge was a great place to sit, eat, drink and socialise, all whilst looking out of the beautiful bifold doors in to the garden. The spacious, fully enclosed garden was a delight for our dog (labrador), was just a shame the weather wasn't drier for us to sit outside! Portscatho is a 10 minute walk away (steep hill coming back for the less able) - lovely coffee and cakes from Tatams coffee shop, and delicious ice cream from Scathos - and Porthcurnick Beach is a 10 minute walk away in the other direction, what a lovely little beach at low tide. It's great that you don't need to use the car if you fancy a day staying local. Easy access to the South West Coast Path which takes you to many places if you're a walker. We walked to Towan Beach (50 minutes) with 2 kids in tow (13 and 8), the beach was lovely and a pit stop at Thirstea helped with the stroll back! Also recommend Pendower and Carne Beach, especially at low tide. We have used Classic Cottages the last few times we've gone away, and this accommodation and location was the best yet. Has everything you need with a nice homely feel. Thanks for a lovely stay, we would definitely recommend!

Mrs Cleverley

We all absolutely loved everything about this property. Fab location - only 10 mins walk to beach - little steep coming back for those less mobile. We almost booked elsewhere because of that due to an older family member in our party, but we decided that because the weather could be wet, out of all the cottages we looked at that met our needs, this was the most cosy and comfortable if we had to stay indoors due to the weather. Spotlessly clean. Lovely simple decor but very homely and welcoming. Loved the fire and so did the dog! Loved the sea views from the bedrooms. Absolutely everything we needed and so very quiet. Would definitely love to stay at Little Croft again.

Mrs Proctor

We loved our stay at Little Croft & the fact that we hope to return one day says it all!

Mr Holbrook

We had a really fabulous stay and loved Little Croft. It is such a comfortable cottage that has been beautifully furnished and is so well appointed. We had a really special week and would love to return to Little Croft.

Mr Bird

Little Croft was an excellent peaceful and quiet location for us and our Springer Spaniel. We were able to easily access a number of local walks and beaches from the property and were able to keep car use to a minimum. The local pubs are very good although booking is recommended. We also made use of the Friday Fish and Chip Van on our arrival which is only a short walk from the property. The local shop is well stocked and the Ice Cream Parlour is a delight. We had a thoroughly relaxing week with the only negative being the shower in the upstairs bedroom which is small and leaked. As there were only 2 of us we used the downstairs shower which was fine.
