Hayloft

We had a fabulous week at the Hayloft, enjoying a fair amount of sunshine even if it didn't feel entirely like Summer! The property was clean and well equipped - perfect for a couple. We loved its location with plenty of coastline to explore, without always needing the car. We had a couple of pub meals, at the Standard and the Plume of Feathers - enjoyed both, but preferred the latter. We also sampled plenty of local ice-cream! The Thirstea Cafe by Towan Beach was great as was the Pendower Beach Cafe (beautiful setting!). We would not hesitate to book the Hayloft, if returning to this part of Cornwall.

Really good cottage with the living area upstairs and the bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor. Loads of gated parking space and plenty of walks to do from the cottage - Towan beach and Percuil creek are both less than 2 miles away. The pub is less than half a mile up the lane.

A lovely, well maintained comfortable house with great facilities and in easy walking distance of Portscatho with its cafes and well stocked shop. Watch out for Monday and Tuesday when a lot of Portscatho businesses are closed. Easy walking distance to the coast path and a easy road/wide track to National Trusts Porth Farm with its lovely cafe. Lots of walks too down to St Anthony Head. You might not even need to use your car for a week. Check out the iWalk Cornwall phone app too - has nice commentary to add to your walk.

Our second visit to Hayloft after a few years staying at Long Linhay & enjoyed it just as much as the first time!! From the balcony we saw deer & foxes, loved the sheltered back garden which is an absolute sun trap!! Great location in that it’s within easy walking distance of Portscatho & the beach at Towan. All in all, absolutely perfect!

Our second visit to the Hayloft so it must be very good. Comfortable, clean and well equipped. Having a dog with us was easy and we walked out the door in different directions and could walk for miles. Two dog friendly pubs in close walking distance and a dog friendly cafe in Portscatho. The hidden hut on a dog friendly beach is an easy walk away.

A delightful cottage with everything you could possibly need. Sitting in the garden surrounded by birdsong after a day out cannot be beaten. There is very easy access to stunning walks around the area. The recently installed Wifi worked well.

We have just enjoyed our third stay at The Hayloft, with family staying in Long Linghay. These properties are perfect for joint holidays with the benefit of personal space. The gardens are secure and dog friendly, the properties are well appreciated and the location and quiet and relaxing. A short walk into the village provides everything you need and more beaches are short car rides away. We highly recommend this property!

We had a very nice week at Hayloft. The weather was fairly good for November and we spent many hours walking to and on the local beaches. Watching the seabirds and seals was particularly enjoyable. Hayloft is one of the nicest holiday cottages we’ve stayed in and the location is perfect.

Lovely small barn conversion in a very quiet location tucked 0.4 miles down a little lane. As soon as we arrived it felt like home. The home baked shortbread was excellent and didn’t last long as was the lemon drizzle cake slices, a nice touch on arrival. A couple of excellent pubs and cafes a short walk away or as the start is up hill a bit you could drive to the free car park near the Standard Inn or street parking on the hill down into Portscatho for The plume of Feathers. The Harbour club was an excellent find for a open air view out over the sea whilst supping an ice cold cider. £1 daily membership recouped on the cost of the 1st pint and lovely view, well worth it. We loved our week here walking to Towan and Porthcurnick beach with our four legged friend Chalky guiding the way. As other people have said the Greater Spotted Woodpecker on the bird feeder 2ft away outside the kitchen window was a real treat, so long as you’re quiet they just peck away all day. Hidden hut on Porthcurnick beach was very good but gets busy. When we were there Tide & Thyme were just opening right on the sea front at Portscatho Beach their cakes look amazing. Lovely well equipped cottage in a beautiful, quiet location. Loved watching the birds on the feeder outside the window, especially the great spotted woodpecker who visited daily, a highlight. So many walks on the doorstep, perfect for our dog. Would definitely recommend.

Hayloft is a fabulous barn conversion with everything you need and more to have a great holiday. Beautiful location with stunning beaches within walking distance. Wonderful peace and quiet just what we needed. A 5 star property and location.

The Hayloft is our perfect holiday destination. We book in conjunction with family, who stay in Long Lindhey and it makes for a perfect family holiday. Being dog friendly just makes it perfect for us. The property is well laid out and all the little extras make it an ideal choice.

Lovely quiet location, great walks from the door. Portscatho is only a 10 minute walk as is the coastal footpath but includes steep hills. Plenty of lovely local cafés.

This charming property was out of the bustle of the village but still close enough to walk our spaniel on the beach before breakfast. A woodpecker on the bird feeder was a real plus.

Comfortable and well maintained accommodation for two people who enjoy peace, quiet, coastal walks and beautiful beaches.

Loved our stay in this cottage - everything we needed for the week, and within easy reach of the sea and amenities. Particularly enjoyed the stroll to Porth and Towan Beach, where there is a delightful little tea room. The do (greyhound) loved his stay too and did not want to leave.

Anyone who has stayed at the Hayloft would, I'm sure, join us in wishing to discourage anyone else from booking it. It's a little secret we want to keep all to ourselves.

Thank you for a wonderful stay at Hayloft - we loved the cottage, the delightful garden, the fabulous location with superb walks from the doorstep and especially enjoyed watching the birds - in particular the woodpeckers - on the bird feeder. We can’t wait to return!

We had a lovely time in this cosy cottage. Everything we needed was provided and we were able to have a wonderfully relaxing week. We especially loved having the bird feeder outside the kitchen window and the visiting woodpeckers it attracted.

Lovely holiday. We enjoyed walking the local footpaths, sitting at the beach and returning for lunch to watch the birds. Our working cocker Rosie didn't want to leave, I had to carry her out!

Please say that this cottage is awful, we can then continue to keep this little secret to ourselves.

We stay in the Hayloft for a week in July every year and have done so for a number of years now. It is an ideal place to stay in for a holiday on the Roseland peninsular. It never disappoints

This is a beautiful cottage, in the perfect location. It’s so relaxing and quiet, just what we wanted. We loved watching from the kitchen window, to see what came on the bird feeder each day, a lovely, added bonus. Highly recommend if you want to get away from it all.

Cottage is in an ideal location with lots of walks direct from the door. We had everything we needed for a great holiday and would like to return another year.

Just stayed 1 week at hayloft and really enjoyed our stay. the area is extremely quiet and beautiful. There are lots of walks from the cottage along the coast path. Many dog friendly beaches in the area. The owners are really nice people who live near the cottage and always there to offer advise. Will definitely stay there again.

We have been staying at Hayloft every year for many years and still find it as delightful as ever. We love watching the birds on the feeder outside the kitchen window, and the rabbits in the field. it is so peaceful yet within walking distance of the village and Towan beach, and the property itself suits us perfectly. Next year is already booked and we hope to come for many more years! Thank you.

We really felt away from it all! So peaceful but close enough to amenities and the lovely pub!! Perfect for all the family and our dogs!

Love everything about Portscatho and thoroughly enjoyed our time in the spacious and comfortable Hayloft which had everything we needed. Very peaceful spot and perfect for our dog Lila who always enjoys the miles and miles of lovely coastal walks. The view from kitchen window of the numerous species of birds on the bird feeders was a delight. Will be returning soon.

We loved the peace and quiet at the Hayloft. There are beautiful views across the fields. Perfect location for walking along the coastal path into Portscatho. Nearby Towan beach is gorgeous, with stunning views along the coastal path. Good cake and coffee at the National Trust cafe near the beach. We were welcomed to the Hayloft with lovely lemon drizzle cake! We were thrilled to see a woodpecker several times on the bird feeder outside the kitchen window.

We both really enjoyed our time at the Hayloft. It is such a lovely location and the property is very well. The Hayloft is so quiet and peaceful it takes you completely away from the stresses of day to day life. 2 good pubs are within a 20 minute walk the closest is only 10 mins away. We will definitely be going back.

A beautiful, cosy cottage in an idyllic location. Very clean, comfortable and peaceful. Well equipped with everything you could need. Some lovely homely touches like the jug of fresh flowers and tray of tea and cakes on arrival. Loved the upside down layout. The balcony was the perfect place to enjoy a morning cuppa or an evening glass of wine as it got the sun all day. The private garden around the back was a lovely place to sit in the sun, or in the shade of the trees, and the abundance of birds on the feeders provided a great source of entertainment. The location was ideal. Very peaceful with a ‘middle of nowhere’ feel but close to the coast path which was a 10 minute walk up the lane and across a field. The local pub at the end of the lane was again about a 10 minute walk and provided the usual range of pub meals and a Sunday carvery. A beautiful walk along the coast path to Portscatho which took about 20 minutes. A lovely old Cornish village with some nice places to eat, a well stocked village store and an excellent butchers which was just right for stocking up with meat for the BBQ. Overall the cottage and location were both even nicer than described in the literature. Without hesitation would definitely return again.

Hayloft Cottage was easily one of the nicest cottages that we have stayed in. The setting and location are just superb and the cottage itself is very welcoming and homely. We would love to return and would highly recommend to others. Thank you Judy and Tony.

This was our first visit to The Hayloft and we will definitely return. Excellent location for coastal and creek footpaths, no need to use the car. Portscatho ten minutes walk away with shops, pubs and restaurant. King Harry ferry handy if you wanted to venture further a field, Trelissick NT, and Falmouth just to name a few. Lovely barn conversion to return to at the end of a wonderful day exploring the Roseland Peninsula.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hayloft, it was possibly the most perfect location to completely relax in the peace & quiet while still only a short walk to the shop, pub or restaurant in Portscatho. And when the walk is along the coastal path with those views what more could you need!! Hayloft was plenty spacious enough for the two of us & our dog, clean & really well looked after. I think we may well be back - absolutely loved it!!

Lovely cottage. Had everything we needed. We loved watching so many different kinds of birds eating from the feeder hung high up in a tree from the kitchen window. A lovely place to relax peace and quiet . The garden was private and a great for our poorly dog to snooze with us whilst enjoying the sun. 2 good pubs near by and great walks.

The property exceeded our expectations. The decor, the warmth and that it was very well equipped. We liked the location and the warm welcome.

Hayloft is perfectly situated as a getaway from it all. It's the just the right size for a cosy holiday for two. Sadly we left two days early so our journey home to North Yorkshire wasn't disrupted by the severe weather of Storm Emma but it just means we have to come back and tick off our Roseland holiday favourites. We will definitely be returning to Hayloft!

The cottage was just as we had expected and more, it had everything we needed. The aircon was a welcome addition as we had a really hot week of weather.This was a truly wonderful place to spend our holiday. It was great being able to take walks straight from the door out into the peaceful and tranquil countryside we enjoy so much.

We spent our honeymoon at The Hayloft. The location is very special; we loved sitting on the balcony having breakfast or evening drinks watching the wildlife and enjoying the beautiful setting. The cottage is easy walking distance to the lovely village of Portscatho and the SW Coastal path. The cottage itself is full of character and perfect for two people (plus our dog!).

If you need a quiet rest and beautiful staying place I would go to the hayloft .

Quiet, secluded location along a little used lane. Cottage spacious and well appointed, with everything uncomplicated and easy to use. Welcoming and helpful owners close by. We'd happily return.

An idyllic week, hardly used the car as plenty to do on the doorstep. The vase of freshly picked wild flowers and homemade cake to welcome us on our arrival were much appreciated. We would definitely stay again.

The Hayloft is perfectly situated for exploring the best of the Roseland with the South West coast path very close by. A chance to unwind and relax - a perfect bolt-hole for a couple...and a dog!
