Sitting in an elevated position in the picturesque unspoilt fishing village of Portloe on Cornwall's south coast, The Blue House is a beautiful Grade II Listed fisherman's cottage overlooking the pretty harbour. Accessed through wrought iron gates and up a cobbled pathway, shared by the neighbouring property, step through the blue front door into this charming stone cottage.

With reversed accommodation to take advantage of the lovely sea views, you will find the stylish kitchen on the first floor complete with Nespresso coffee machine and everything you need to cook up a tasty snack or a delicious feast. Enjoy views over your private terrace as you wash up the dishes before heading through to the gorgeous sitting-room where you can sit and relax on the comfy sofa with a good book or take a pew on the window seat and watch the boats come and go in the harbour. In the cooler months fire up the wood-burner, grab your hot chocolate and get yourself cosy.

Two lovely bedrooms can be found on the ground floor, both enjoying coastal views of 'The Jacka' to the front of the cottage. The smaller of the two bedrooms is the single room, perfect for a guest of all ages. Right next door is the main bedroom, with a wet-room across the landing complete with under-floor heating, this stunning space would look right at home in the best of boutique hotels.

The private sun terrace is the perfect spot to enjoy the captivating panoramic views across the harbour and along the coast, watch the fishing boats come and go as the daily catch comes in and as the sun goes down on a clear night, look out for the first star to appear in the night sky.

When hunger calls take a stroll to the Ship Inn, your local friendly pub, four-legged guests are welcome too or for a very special occasion, why not book a table at the nearby two AA Rosette restaurant at the Lugger Hotel which sits right on the water's edge and offers superb dining with fabulous views.

Mrs Rice

The Blue House is perfect in every way. There are beautiful views of the sea from the large terrace and lounge windows. It is super comfortable and wonderfully decorated and furnished inside. And it is located near a great pub, hotel restaurant and the South West Coast Path. What's not to love. We can thoroughly recommend it.

Mrs Healy

We enjoyed a long weekend in this beautiful house; cosy, comfortable and well equipped. The outdoor terrace is fabulous for taking in the views. Coastal path a stones throw from the front door so easy to explore. A perfect bolt hole, we’d definitely stay here again.

Mr Simpson

We had a fantastic stay in the Blue Cottage. Picturesque views over Portloe! The house is well equipped, lovely interior and very comfortable - beds particularly great. We loved our morning brunches on the terrace (in November!) and evening fires. A great holiday.

Mr Bayliss

Smaller than expected but very comfortable for all that. Superb location.

Mrs Walker

We enjoyed our stay, the cottage is lovely and it’s easy to feel at home. The roof terrace is wonderful, it gets a lot of sun and has lovely views over the harbour. We enjoyed watching the fishing boats go out and return. Portloe is a lovely unspoilt village where everyone was friendly. We enjoyed a meal at the Lugger Hotel which is just a minutes walk from the cottage. The local shop is in the next village, Veryan, was handy. Parking in the village car park wasn’t a problem and no need for cash as payment is online.

Mr Child

My favourite Classic Cottage so far - great for walks and beaches.
