We had a wonderful time in this magical and secluded setting with such close proximity to the sea and coastal path. Having a sea view made all the difference. It was a lovely surprise to be welcomed with scones, jam and clotted cream to tuck into. We appreciated the decor for its simplicity and unfussiness. We did a lot of cooking and the kitchen was well equipped. The owners were on hand if needed but not intrusive.

We loved our stay at Maryland. It’s a fantastic base to explore the area. We enjoyed being surrounded by nature. It’s peaceful, private and homely.

Very tranquil with wonderful views out to sea. The mature gardens were a nature lovers paradise. We sat and watched swifts, house-martins and swallows swooping over the garden during early evening followed by bats at dusk. Considering dogs are allowed the cottage was immaculate. Perfectly situated with the picture postcard town of Looe only a short drive away and peaceful Talland Bay a quick walk down the hill. The cottage feels very private and secluded and it’s almost impossible not to relax in this beautiful setting.

If you're looking for peace and quiet then Maryland is the place to stay. Listen to the birds, watch the yachts and ships go by and relax. We had a truly wonderful stay at Maryland and wished we had booked another week! It is a great area for walking and there are so many interesting places to visit. We hope to return again.

Maryland is a lovely property in a very quiet garden with glorious views out to sea and lots of great walks and beaches near-by.

A fantastic holiday cottage with everything you will need. An amazing sea view from the cottage. We often sat and watched the sailing boats go across the bay. The beach is just down the hill and we visited the lovely beach café several times. The coastal path is also very close. We also visited the local Talland Bay hotel. We had a lovely holiday at Maryland and really recommend it.

Lovely property with all the comforts of home. Very clean and views are amazing. Would highly recommend. The driveway was steep getting the car in and out. Recommend good walking walking shoes when taking the costal walks.

Comfortable and very clean cottage. Very quiet and peaceful. Gorgeous cream tea for us on arrival. The beach cafe is great, lovely cakes!

If you want a break from the rat race this is it. Surrounded by nature, listen to the birds, read a book in the lovely garden, Perfect. Short but steep walk to the beautiful beach. We are looking forward to our next visit in Autumn.

Peaceful well equipped cottage in a secluded location although talland bay hotel just down the lane.

The cottage was spotless, warm and had everything we could ask for, the owner left milk and cream teas on our arrival, and visited us to ensure we had everything. We have stayed in many cottages and Maryland was far the best cottage we have stayed at.

Had a wonderful relaxing stay in a stunning location. Perfect for recharging your batteries and escaping stresses of life. Area is wonderful and perfect for walks along the coastal path. The view from the cottage to the sea is amazing.

The view is to die for, and the garden is beautiful. Short walk to talland bay and great location.

Location was superb...very quiet and peaceful with a gorgeous view. Kitchen was well equipped and a pleasant room to be in with the large table and fantastic view. Lovely welcome goodies for us and our dog. Spotlessly clean. We loved everything!

Views were amazing, pure peace and quiet and got away from everything. Great location for coastal walks and into looe and Polperro. Would highly recommend the Island View Cafe on the coastal path to Looe. The kitchen had everything you needed, the welcome tray was very thoughtful and plenty of hangers in the wardrobes was great.

This cottage has a wonderful views and is beautifully clean. It is in a lovely, quiet location and has pretty gardens. There are excellent walks to be had in the area but be prepared for some hills. There are two nice cafes by the attractive beaches. We found the drive quite troublesome.

Really lovely relaxing stay and Maryland. The cottage had everything we needed a comfortable weeks stay. Views & location are superb too! Doesn’t have Wi-fi (just a personal preference!) but I guess Pros are that you can completely switch off! :)

A good location for a holiday, we found the cottage to be well situated and Talland Bay is lovely. Recommend the walk to Polperro along the coast path. Perhaps consider cutting back the shrubs at the end of the garden to really maximise those views.

It was our third stay at Maryland and, as always, it exceeded our expectations. From the lovely welcoming scones and cream and goodies, to the personal visit and chat with the owners (who are less than 100 yards down the road) , right through to the beautiful cottage (with the subtle updates in decor so appropriately conceived), fabulous garden and exceptional views.... Maryland seriously cannot be beaten. We've now stayed in three different months (March, September & November) and they've all been different (especially in the garden, which gives you a new perspective every time) but every day has been hugely enjoyable, no matter what the conditions. In the end, the view is the very best we've ever experienced (and one we shall never tire of) and that, alone, is worth every penny by itself. That you also get a really lovely, dog friendly, user friendly detached cottage with a fabulous garden- situated in a really lovely quiet part of Cornwall with a beautiful beach within walking distance and with lots of other great walks/ports/villages/beaches nearby- makes this the ideal place to come away to from the stresses of modern life and just relax and switch off. Simply cannot be faulted. Thank you to the owners for letting us stay again and, rest assured, we will return for our fourth stay as soon as is possible!!

The location was brilliant and the cottage very sweet (nestled in the woodland) and comfortable and generally very well equipped. The towels were sumptuous I liked the natural garden (which framed the view) and the fact that the wildlife was evident (we enjoyed seeing the jays especially)

Maryland is located on a beautiful and very quiet spot with very nice view to the Talland bay. It is the place to be to enjoy rest and relaxation and to explore the Cornish coast. The house is very clean, comfortable en well-equiped. Without any hesitation we can recommend this property.

Our second stay at Maryland was a return to a tried and trusted favourite - I can't really stress enough how wonderful a week we have had. Everything - from the booking itself, directions and reception details right through to the owners, the cottage itself and the location - were well nigh perfect. The layout is so good - with the wonderfully equipped kitchen being the tour-de-force, providing that view out over the fields to the Church and Talland Bay itself and providing a fantastic panoramic backdrop for meals and conversation. We sat there for hours, going over the wonderful day we had had or planning for tomorrow. A stunning view - without question, the best we've ever experienced. The garden was really beautiful too... loads of different plants and wildlife (the jays dropping in to eat were a regular delight) to enjoy. Great for Sidney (the dog) too! All in all , Maryland is a superb holiday cottage that provides a fantastic hub to explore the beautiful Talland Bay, Polperro and Looe immediate area and further outwards for the South East corner of Cornwall. I really cannot recommend it highly enough and the owners should be tremendously proud of the magical holidays they provide a backdrop for. A seriously wonderful experience!

This is a lovely place to come to, especially if your aim is to relax, which is the reason we came back for two weeks this year after the one week we had last year! My wife and I will come and stay again if we can. Evenings by the bay are perfect. Don't tell too many people though!

A lovely cottage in a spectacular position with very good facilities. An excellent beach cafe a short distance away. Excellent coastal walks to Looe & Polperro. Dogs generally welcome in most shops etc.

Maryland is clean, quiet, comfy, warm and full of sunshine (on sunny days). It has a stunning view down to Talland Bay and excellent walks from the doorstep. The owners live nearby and are helpful, but not intrusive.

Maryland exceeded all our expectations, a truly lovely secluded property which probably ranks as the nicest holiday cottage we have ever stayed in, so clean and extremely well furnished. We arrived to a lovely warm cosy bungalow, jam, scones and clotted cream awaited us and milk in the fridge. The kitchen is exceedingly well equipped. The cottage itself is secluded but you are only a few yards down the lane to the Talland Bay hotel and then a little further down to Talland Bay itself and a lovely cafe. Coastal walks from the beach either way to Polperro and Looe. The cottage has such a homely feel about it and views to die for. Evenings sitting out on the veranda were a delight and wildlife in abundance. The owners too are just as nice as the cottage!

The view from the cottage was fantastic. It was a pleasure every day, sitting at the breakfast table looking across the trees to the old Parish Church and the Sea and sky. The peace and quiet did us the world of good! The cottage was very clean and comfortable and the owners of the cottage were most helpful and friendly during our two-week stay.

Blissfully peaceful!

Maryland is a hidden gem. If you want to have a totally relaxing holiday then sit on the veranda, read a book and admire the views. You don't actually have to leave the property in order to have a lovely holiday as the gardens and views are wonderful. Mind you, you do need to have nice weather though, which luckily we did for most of the time.

Wonderfull, silent please to relaxe and find yourself. Everything is a bit away except the sea and peace!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Maryland, it was really comfortable & spotlessly clean, all the fixtures, fittings & equipment were excellent. The cottage has a stunning view & is in a quiet & peaceful location but close to great walks, beaches, open gardens & other attractions. The owners are very friendly & helpful but not intrusive.

Our third visit Maryland is one of our favourite places to stay. It is so peaceful with stunning views. Friendly owners who welcomed our dog. The cottage was very comfortable and had everything you needed for a great holiday. Good walks in area and nice cafe by beach but be prepared for walk back up hill. Hope to be back for fourth visit.

The trees and shrubs could do with cutting back so you can see more of the coast, but still lovely location.

A perfect cottage to get away from it all with views out over the sea to die for. Talland Bay is a lovely secluded bay & there are good walks in every direction. Easy driving into Looe for all your essentials, a spot of shopping or a variety of dining options. A good base to explore Fowey, Bodmin, Plymouth & the local National Trust properties or just relax & enjoy a cream tea!

We had a lovely stay in the stormiest weather ever (storm Frank) - the cottage is cosy and warm, very private and quiet and excellent to use as a base for walking or day trips. The Talland Bay beach is lovely and in easy walking distance.

We have now visited the property twice and find it superb, quiet, fantastic views, clean, comfortable and entirely hassle free, thank you.

Peaceful, quiet , stunning position a little piece of paradise .

Maryland is a very comfortable, well equipped and very private cottage with tremendous views over Talland Bay. There are great walks along the coast straight from the cottage door and with Bodmin moor and Dartmoor within easy distance it's an excellent base for walkers. Looe, Fowey and Polperro are all close by and all are worth a visit. Maryland comes highly recommended and we look forward to staying again in the future.

This is a fabulously located cottage that is perfect if you want to retreat away from the crowds. We stayed here for a week and loved being able to walk out the door and down to the coastal path. Looe and Polperro are both within walking distance of the cottage and are both worthy a visit; be prepared for a few hills along the way though. We also visited The Eden Project, Truro and Plymouth as they are easily accessible by car from here. The cottage is clean with a fabulous view out to sea. The facilities are great. We arrived on a cold and blustery afternoon and, once we had unpacked and settled in, the cottage proved cosy and comfortable. Sitting out on the porch and watching the wildlife is a great way to pass the time. We had a deer come to the garden at one point! The pint of milk and packet of yummy biscuits put out for our arrival was the icing on the cake for a great trip.

If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday, in an immaculate cottage, with views that are second to none we can highly recommend Maryland. On the day we left, we felt sad to be leaving.

We have had over 15 yrs experience staying in dog friendly holiday cottages; Maryland is one of the best cottages we have had the pleasure of staying in. Everything was there that we needed, it is fresh, super clean & warm. The garden is beautiful, attracting wild life, birds, foxes. our little terrier loved sunning himself by the patio windows; The views are stunning with walks from the door, the peace & quiet is just what we needed to unwind. Stupendous - property is exactly as described - well, better actually!! The room sizes are excellent (particularly the kitchen) and really well equipped, the garden is a delight too. But the view...wow, the view. The photos don't really do it justice - it is breathtakingly beautiful to look out from the kitchen , whilst eating breakfast or an evening meal, and see that panorama. Magnificent. And it is so tranquil - like your own little corner of Cornwall!! The owners should be really proud of their beautiful cottage - it's an absolute pleasure to stay in and, if we come back to South East Cornwall again, we will look to stay in Maryland first. Highly recommended to one and all.

Lovely private cottage with sea views, and countryside behind and at the side. Wild deer sillhoutted by the church in the morning and fox calls. Kind friendly owners, farmhouse below and non intrusive.

A beautiful location, lovely weather, very pleasant hosts, ideal for dogs, well equipped cottage covered all our needs, kitchen very well equipped and garden enchanting with many birds and lovely camellias. We had a great week.The dog loved the whole area and was glad to explore all the footpaths and then sleep off his exertions on the verandah in the sun.

This cottage "ticked all the boxes" for us! Wanted a sea view - and the view in reality is better than the photo shows. Also important for us to have a garden as we have a dog. Cottage was very well equipped, very clean and cosy. Always good to have bathroom and extra shower or cloakroom if there are 2 couples, as we were, and a dishwasher is always welcome as we tend to eat in most evenings. Loved being within walking distance of coast path. We felt very relaxed and welcome here - not always the case especially when you have a dog! Very happy with everything!

The house was very clean, comfortable and well furnished. We liked the quietness and the beautiful sea view.
