There are tantalising glimpses of the sparkling waters of Talland Bay through the trees surrounding Fred's House, where the big sheltered garden is perfect for outdoor meals and the lawn provides space for children to play.

The family-friendly beaches at Talland are five minutes' walk downhill and walkers will love the scenic coastal footpath leading to the fishing village of Polperro to the west and the bustling harbour town of Looe to the east.

Nearby, the popular Talland Bay Hotel offers brasserie and fine dining menus and two beach cafes provide traditional seaside food and evening barbecues in summer months.

Mr Hicks

A very fine property and very comfortable

Ms Brotherwood

Fred’s House is absolutely fabulous. The spacious and spotless accommodation had everything you could possibly need making this a real home from home experience and more!! The location is fabulous for walks to Talland Bay, Looe and Polperro. We were welcomed by the owner with lots of suggestions for where we could take our dog. So lovely to have essentials like milk waiting for us and a wonderful cream tea. This really is the most perfect holiday home. We absolutely loved it and will definitely be back!!

Mrs Milroy

Fred's house is excellent. It was immaculate when we arrived, exceptionally clean, tastefully decorated with quality furnishings. The kitchen is extremely well equipped and well appointed. Great shower with instant hot water. WI fi worked well. Grandchildren (and adults)) had a great time playing ball games etc in the large garden. Only a 5 minute walk down to the beach at Talland Bay ( maybe slightly longer on the way back up the hill) or it's possible to drive down and park on the roadside. The owners really friendly and helpful if needed. I cannot fault this place!

Mr Lee

We enjoyed a relaxing, tranquil holiday in the homely and comfortable surroundings of Fred's House. Sarah was the perfect host, friendly, welcoming and on hand when we needed her help. The peaceful, secluded garden with views of the sea was especially appreciated. Talland Bay is a beautiful, quiet corner of Cornwall... long may it remain so!

Mrs Taylor

This is super house for a beach-side holiday (for young and old alike) as it is but a short walk down to the lovely Talland Bay. All we needed was a bit more sunshine to make the most of that. However, there were plenty of places to visit when the sun wasn't shining, making it a convenient location to tour around. We went to the local towns of Fowey, Polperro, Looe and Portsmouth and enjoyed trips to 3 National Trust properties at Lanhydrock, Anthony and Saltram House. We also enjoyed some rounds of golf at St Mellion and Looe and Whitsand Bay and had some beautiful walks along the cost into Polperro and at Lansallos. Fred's House was spotless, comfortable and has a lovely garden. Just down the lane, the Talland Bay hotel has a nice restaurant for a treat - not the cheapest but it avoids having to use the country roads at night, which you wouldn't want to drive down after a glass or two of wine!!

Mrs Ransley

A spotlessly clean, comfortable cottage with everything you need, a beautiful garden to relax and enjoy peace and quiet.

Mrs Tomlinson

Best holiday home we have stayed in, with welcoming ( but not intrusive) owners next door. Beautiful coast walks minutes away . Exceptional standard will be back soon.

Mr Parkes

We have had a very relaxing week in Fred's house. Comfortable, spotless cottage that had everything we needed and a lovely garden. The owner was kind and helpful.

Mrs Picknell

We loved our stay in Fred’s House located in a beautiful unspoilt area of Cornwall. The house was spotlessly clean on arrival, comfortable and extremely well equipped. We enjoyed relaxing in the large very private garden with glimpses of the sea through the trees. Talland bay was a five minute walk down the hill with access to the coastal path and walks towards Polperro and Looe. This was a new area of Cornwall for us and we definitely hope to return and stay in this lovely cottage again. It was just perfect!

Dr Hardy

Wonderful cottage in a fabulous location. Lovely, big and attractive garden in a very quiet lane. The cottage was spotlessly clean, and very well equipped with everything one could reasonably need. Just 5 minutes walk from the lovely Talland Bay. The walk back up to the cottage is steep. The coastal path is very close-by with lovely walks to Polperro and to Looe. Sarah, who owns the cottage, lives very close by with her family. She could not have been more helpful, with local knowledge etc.

Mrs Schoon

We have had a wonderful week in Fred's house. Comfortable, spotless cottage with an amazing garden. The owner was kind and helpful and told us more about the history of the cottage (since we were curious as to why it's called Fred's house). Location near Talland Bay is superb! A great (less than 2 miles) walk from there along the South West Coast Path to Polperro, an old idyllic fishing village. Stunning views on cliffs and sea. Groceries nearby in Pelynt, small supermarkt with friendly owner. We really enjoyed Cornwall and definitely recommend Fred's house.

Ms Garland

This has got to be one of the best places to stay in Cornwall. Plenty of space, parking, good access. This property is exceptionally clean and well maintained. Everything you need. Owners are friendly and share their local knowledge to make your stay even better. This property is really well placed for access to main roads to travel up and down Cornwall. Wonderful.

Miss Griffiths

An amazing clean, spacious very well maintained house . Fred’s house had everything you’d need for your stay. A nice welcome of scones , Jam and cream awaiting after a long journey was lovely. An amazing house which is safe for children and within close distance to looe and Polperro . The owner greeted us once we had settled in and assured us if there were any questions/ issues they were there to help. The house is peaceful , spacious and it was very easy to relax whilst staying there. We loved Fred’s house and our little boy loves all the hiding places for hide and seek!!

Mrs Cruttenden

Lovely cottage very relaxing stay would recommend it and will definitely return

Mrs Slater

Fred’s House is a lovely luxurious and cosy house in a peaceful location. The property is immaculately clean and well maintained. The photos don’t give it justice, we were surprised how much bigger it was than the photos show. Lovely welcome cream tea on arrival, much appreciated. We visited as 3 generations of one family and all really enjoyed the stay. Would love to return one day, thank you.

Mrs Jenns

Our stay at Fred’s house was wonderful. Such a peaceful and relaxing location. The house is cosy, very comfortable, extremely well equipped and spotlessly clean. The garden, with its sea view, is beautiful and we really enjoyed spending quality time in it. Sarah made us very welcome. I would highly recommend Fred’s House to anyone, it is a fantastic place to stay.

Mrs Dewick

Lovely holiday house, very comfortable, had everything we needed and what a beautiful garden! Great to be so near the beach.

Mrs Manley-Cooper

Lovely garden and very comfortable cottage - owners very pleasant and helpful

Mrs Bogomolov

Fantastic location with a view of the sea and a beautiful garden . The cottage was equipped with everything one needed , spotlessly clean and beautifully warm . Have just put a deposit down for next year !

Mr Seedell

One of the best cottages/ garden we have stayed at.

Ms Wood

The cottage was extremely cosy (especially during a November storm), and spotless. The owner was very nice and informative, and he even let us arrive early and leave later, as there were no bookings immediately after us.

Ms Stickler

Loved the garden and the daily visit from the pheasants. The cottage is a short walk from the beach, can hear & see the sea from the garden the place to go to relax and recover from busy life.

Mrs Doubell

Very comfortable stay and we enjoyed the gorgeous garden. The location was better than we expected!

Mrs Eeles

Fred’s House is so clean, comfortable and homely. Perfect location for a trip to the beach to rock pool for crabs. Lovely garden full of interesting birds to spot. Even a woodpecker. We had a fantastic time and can’t wait to come back. Thanks to Sarah for being such a welcoming and helpful host.

Mr Konopinski

The steep hill from the beach was fine for us but could be a problem for some people to walk.

Mr Price

Fred’s House is exactly as described, it felt very comfortable, and is in a great location. The owners, Sarah and David were very welcoming and great to chat to.

Mr Bramhill

Given the exceptional circumstances of Covid-19 everything possible had been done to make our stay as normal as possible. We really enjoyed the scones / jam / clotted cream left out for when we arrived. The owner was lovely and considerate, welcoming us and checking with us the evening before we left that everything had been okay with our stay. We were very lucky to have such fantastic weather which meant we spent a lot of time at the beach just a short walk away which also has wonderful cafe. The cottage is surrounded by a lovely gardens which we also enjoyed spending time in. We would highly recommend Fred's house for anyone who would enjoy a quiet holiday in a beautiful location.

Dr Cole

Fred's house was in a lovely location, spotlessly clean and a fantastic holiday home. We would definitely recommend it and would love to stay again, perhaps we could organise better weather as Storm Dennis brought gales and heavy rain so we probably didn't see Fred's House and it's location at it's best. The fact that we had a lovely holiday in spite of the weather is testament to the warmth and comfort provided by Fred's House.

Mrs Taylor

Fred';s house was lovely and imaculately clean. Great location

Mrs Dunn

If you’re after a get away from it all holiday Fred’s House is perfect. On a personal level I’m disappointed that I forgot to pick some apples from the garden to bring home so I could make a crumble after Sarah the owner had said to help myself.

Mr Oliver

The cottage was very clean, tidy and comfortable. It was nice that the owner came round on the first day to welcome us and say we could pop next door to see her if we had any problems. She also popped round the evening before we left. We thought she was both friendly and helpful. The garden at the cottage was quiet, private and very pretty. It was also spacious and gave our little grandson plenty of space to run around. The older boys (both in their 20’s) enjoyed the swing ball. There was plenty of parking space too.

Mrs Simmons

This cottage is one of the best we've ever had in a superb location with a lovely owner who definitely goes the extra mile.

Frau Kania

We had a wonderful time in the lovely house and garden. The owners are very nice and hospitable. There are many things to do in the region for families - walking, swimming, sightseeing, bodyboarding in the north,... we would love to come back.

Mrs Butt

Beautiful location, perfect for our stay. Very well equipped property and comfortable, a delicious cake was awaiting our arrival. There is nothing negative to say about Freds house and the location, we have stayed in quite few properties, and I can honestly says this has been the best so far!

Mr Davey

Excellent property, spotless and well equipped and in great private location. Reassuring to have owner in quite close proximity.

Mrs Hill

The personal touch on arrival was so lovely, the home baked cake and milk in the fridge and fresh flowers. The privacy was perfect.

Mr Lush

Everything about our Fred's House experience was positive. One week was not enough and it was a wrench to leave Talland, with its beautiful bay.

Mrs Kirchhof

Sarah, the owner, gave us a very warm and friendly welcome- with tea and handmade cornish cake. We didn't miss anything during our holiday and had a super holiday!

Reverand Burke

This is without doubt the best cottage we have booked with you so far Everything we needed was there including seats etc for the garden which by the way was a wonderful and peaceful place to relax in

Mr Brown

Fred's House is idyllic, beautifully presented, well equipped, spotlessly clean yet still having a lovely, homely relaxing feel, wonderful gardens and Summerhouse too. Welcomed on arrival by sunny daffodils in the Dining Room, a delicious home-made cake, tea tray set out and fresh milk in the fridge, what a wonderful surprise and welcome. We were delighted that Sarah came over personally to welcome us, and make sure we had settled in and to let her know if there was anything we needed during our stay. It was a wonderful break, wish it could have been longer. Can thoroughly recommend Fred's House, a real home from home only better!

Fred's House is a beautiful well equipped cottage with a lovely spacious, pretty, private garden which is important to us and our dog.
