A warm welcome awaits you at this gorgeous retreat for two set in the peace and tranquility of the glorious Cornish countryside. Located at the end of a pretty tree-lined private lane only a few miles from the beaches, clifftop walks and fishing villages of the south coast and the dramatic open landscape of Bodmin Moor, Barton Cottage makes the ideal sanctuary for those seeking both relaxation and recreation.

This single-storey barn conversion has been renovated to an exceptional standard, with the owners taking great pride in creating a stylish and modern interior, dotted with accents of mustard and grey with comfort and quality high on the agenda. Linger over leisurely breakfasts at the dining-table overlooking the courtyard, and on those out-of-season breaks fire up the wood-burner enjoying a good holiday read snuggled up on the sofa or perhaps rocking gently in the country-style rocking chair. Step down into the lovely bedroom where crisp linens, and of course piles of cushions and a cosy throw, dress the super comfy bed and the stylish en suite shower-room will freshen you up for the day ahead. Outside there is a small terrace, which is set up behind the cottage, the perfect spot for morning coffee or evening sundowners whilst listening to the sounds of the countryside, or get even closer to nature with a stroll along the owner's woodland walk – the bluebell display in late spring is really quite spectacular.

Barton Cottage offers the reassurance of friendly owners close by, should you have any questions during your stay, but assurance of privacy if you just want to relax. The family's two friendly dogs will come to say hello when you arrive, offering the warmest of welcomes!

Good or bad, we publish all the reviews left by the guests who have stayed at this property.

Mr Trenfield

The Classic Team were so helpful on the booking as my partner had special needs we would highly recommend classic Cottages and Barton cottage to anyone Many thanks again.

Mrs Tape

If you want an authentic farm cottage which the farm is around 500 years old, then this for you. Right in the lovely country side so peaceful- and lovely owners (and their 2 dogs).

mrs Coley

The roads and track up to the cottage weren’t the best but the location was good. Overall we had a pleasant holiday.

Mrs Fletcher

A great base for visiting different locations. Owners are very dog friendly and scenery was beautiful. So quiet and great for getting a peaceful night’s sleep ready to explore the following day

Mrs Sturtevant

Beware of narrow, single tracked access road, poorly surfaced.

Mrs Garrett

Hosts Tim and Laura were lovely. Lots of thought has gone into this cottage. Great use of space and they have maximised the space to get all the essentials in. Nice to have a ‘pet welcome’ for our little dog. Particularly enjoyed the homemade cookies supplied (and recipe). The cottage was very quiet. There are other rentals within the courtyard but the layout is such that other guests don’t intrude. The WiFi is hit and miss (tend to get that in deepest Cornwall) but worth knowing if you need to work from the cottage. It wasn’t a problem for us and was adequate for our needs. Loved our stay and recommend this cottage

Mr Cotton

Really great location if you're looking for rural peace and quiet, lovely walk down by green fields with sheep and donkeys leading to a little forest which the dog loved, hosts were so welcoming but left us to it unless we needed them, couldn't have asked for anything more, we even saw shooting stars of the perseid meteor showers which was the truly magical icing on a perfect week

Mr Nee

We always enjoy our visits to Barton Cottage. It’s warm, cosy and clean and we always get a warm welcome. Would highly recommend it if you want peace, quiet and tranquility.

Revd Thompson

An excellent cottage in every way. Highly recommended. Very welcoming owners.

Mr Frampton

Very easy to view, use and book

Mrs Poolman

The property is of a high standard of cleanliness and furnishings. The owners are very friendly and always happy to help. Lots of lovely views when out walking, especially when you have dogs.

Mrs Read

Friendly owners, very comfortable cottage, bright and clean. Lovely countryside, very peaceful. Need a car, as no public footpaths from Farm & nearest pub 3 mile away ( but you can see this from 'explore nearby' map on Classic cottages website.

mr Hearsey

Excellent location for dogs and to explore the surrounding countryside. Very helpful and friendly owners.

Mr Nee

We love our visits to Barton Cottage, there is always a warm welcome from Laura & Tim. The cottage is spotlessly clean, warm and cosy with a log burner if needed. Set in beautifully peaceful countryside, it’s the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing holiday but within easy reach of the many places of interest in this part of the country.

Mrs Duckmanton

Tim and Laura were friendly and so helpful and really enjoyed our stay

Mr Nee

This is our second visit to Barton Cottage and it was just as warm, clean and comfortable as last time. Everything we could possibly need was available and the cottage is set in beautiful countryside. If you like peace and quiet this cottage is for you, but it’s not far to the seaside and Bodmin and Dartmoor if you fancy a trip out.A warm and friendly welcome awaits from Laura & Tim, what more could you want.

Mr Westcott

Tucked well away in lovely countryside - at the end of a track, therefore extremely peaceful. Ideal dog walking area.

Mr Childs

Please see above comments about Building Work When we contacted Tressa about our concerns, she acted so efficiently and quickly in dealing with our Complaint. She let us know that the owners had not informed them about it, so Classic Cottages were unaware. We were happy to agree to a partial refund of the total holiday price. We will not hesitate to book through you again because of how efficiently our complaint was handled.

Mr Page

We had a lovely week in this cottage set in pretty Cornish countryside not too far from the coast and other attractions. The owners were often around and offered a friendly welcome as well as giving local information. The cottage had been attractively refurbished, smartly decorated and furnished. The bed was comfortable and all the fittings in good order. There are other cottages at the same location, with others on the way, and all appear well looked after. Recommended!

Mr Jones

The location is perfect for relaxation and for exploring Cornwall A chance to slow down and enjoy the peaceful surroundings The Owners are welcoming and helpful We have been using Classic Cottages for 18 years and this cottage is one of the best

Mrs Hanlon

Lovely welcome, nice set up & group of cottages. Plenty of parking & very comfortable bed.

Recommend this Cottage with all mod cons and very comfortable. Nice helpful, welcoming owners who have their home in the next Cottage. Relaxing place to stay.

Mr Griffiths

This peaceful cottage is a great base for cycling and walking as the coast and moors are within quick & easy reach.

Mr Croucher

The property was very cosy and comfortable - it was certainly off the beaten track, and therefore, was very peaceful, which we wanted. The hosts, Tim and Laura were very friendly and helpful and we certainly wish them well in this venture. We hope to revisit in the future and would certainly recommend Barton Cottage to our friends. Thank you.

We liked the property very much and hope to return. The area suited our needs with close proximity to the coast but the rural setting gave us some very good walks. Our hosts were very helpful and friendly within the limits of covid restrictions. No complaints at all.
