Lady Emma’s Cottage

Our third stay here and it was wonderful as always. Feels like our second home. Beautiful location and solitude. The hot tub a welcome benefit after our long walks! Simply the best!

We wanted to stay there forever! An enchanting, surprisingly spacious cottage in an idyllic location. Exceptionally well maintained and equipped. Perfect for coastal and country walks and for enjoying the facilities of the beautiful Mt Edgcumbe Estate.

A unique property superbly presented with a hot tub! Will seriously think about rebooking!

A beautiful well presented 1862 house in a fabulous location. For darker evenings the smart TV and reliable WiFi is a good bonus. Very comfortable furnishings and beds. A perfect family holiday.

We loved our week at Lady Emma's Cottage. The cottage is wonderful, the setting is idyllic and the views are outstanding. We had a fabulous, relaxing holiday and look forward to visiting again.

Wir haben nun das zweite mal bei Classic Cottage gebucht und sind einfach nur begeistert. Lady Emmers Cottage ist ein wunderbares Haus an einem unglaublichen Ort um Abzuschalten und Ausflüge in der Region zu unternehmen. Z.B. Eden Garden Projekt, The Garden House, Lanhydrock House and Garden oder The Lost Garden of Heligan, nicht zu vergessen, The Garden House, die wir alle besucht haben. Das kleine romantische Fischerörtchen Kingsand wo wir im The Halfway House Inn essen waren, genial. besonders die unglaubliche Freundlichkeit der Menschen schlug uns immer wieder entgegen. Rund um waren wir von Land und Menschen sehr sehr angetan. Classic Cottage , den Eigentümern von Lady Emmers Cottage und natürlich den englischen Menschen, vielen Dank, das wir so einen schönen Urlaub verbringen durften. Wir kommen wieder :)

Absolute perfection. Calm tranquility away from the hub bub of the city. 7 days away from reality to wind down and slow down. Afternoon snoozes to the lap of waves and chirping of birds. Blissful.

If you want peace and quiet in a place with stunning views , a really well equipped cottage and gorgeous walks - this is the place for you. It’s dog heaven - our Cavapoo loved her week !

A wonderful cottage in a beautiful location. This is a little gem of a place. We can't think of a better place to celebrate the New Year. Even the rain couldn't dampen our spirits. There are many lovely walks right on the doorstep and yet Plymouth is only a short ferry trip away from Cremyll. We wouldn't hesitate to come back again.

Lady Emma's Cottage was a fabulous place to stay and we thoroughly enjoyed the tranquility of solitude the location provided. We enjoyed some lovely outings to the beautiful seaside and towns in the area. Highly comfortable and well furnishd/equipped. Can't wait to go back someday.

Lady Emma's Cottage is a beautiful getaway. We loved that it was so private and tucked away. If you bring all your provisions, you will never need to get into your car again! Very well placed for exploring everything that Mt Edgcumbe has to offer. The Farrier and Orangery restaurants are within walking distance, as are the villages of Kingsand and Cawsand. The house itself is very comfortable and well-appointed. The hot tub was well-used and much appreciated after long walks all over the Estate. I would highly recommend this cottage!

This is a truly stunning property, inside and out. It was very comfortable and clean. The gardens are beautiful and safe for dogs. There are lots of lovely walks from the house with a couple of pubs you can walk to depending on your mobility. House is in the middle of the country park surrounded by woods with a glimpse of the sea, it is very beautiful. Enjoyed the hot tub and the lovely colourful garden. Would definitely recommend this beautiful house!

Fantastic property in a beautiful location, wonderful for walkers. The track to reach the cottage is quite bumpy and can be muddy but it is well worth the effort.

Lovely setting and a beautiful cottage.

Lady Emma's Cottage is situated in a forest, an isolated location down a dirt road, where you expect fairies and wood nymphs to pop out and welcome you upon arrival. We had never been to this corner of Cornwall. The cottage is historic. It is warm, comfortable, and well equipped for a family vacation. Hiking and exploring are superb. It is peaceful and stunning, with beautiful views of Plymouth Sound. We highly recommend it.

We cannot recommend this cottage and the outstanding location highly enough. The views are outstanding. The cottage had everything we needed and Tanya and Rob, couldn’t have been more helpful. Amazing walks from the front door. Fantastic garden and location which our dogs loved.

We originally booked as a family of 7 adults and 2 dogs but sadly had to cancel due to covid. We managed to move the booking to this year but had an additional 2 babies joining us! The property, garden and views were exceptional. It felt so welcoming. There was enough room for all. Even got to use the hot tub! The dogs loved the garden, lots of nooks and crannies and bushes to explore. The deer even came to visit. Every piece of household equipment was thought of. I would suggest though to bring extra loo rolls. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to get away from it all. We will certainly be booking to return. Can't wait!!

We had just the best time at Lady Emma’s. Beautiful location with lovely views. The cottage was immaculate on arrival and the Jacuzzi was a bonus after the long walks. An Enchanted cottage in a Enchanted wood! We will be back! Thank you.

Absolutely fantastic place to get away from day to day life booking was easy no issues with the property and even an added touch of a card and bottle of fizz for our anniversary! Would not hesitate on going back!

A wonderful cottage in a beautiful peaceful location. Just a few walkers going past. Lovely walks to Kingsand and Cremyl ferry to Plymouth and around Mount Edgecombe and Plymouth. Cottage very cosy and well equipped. Huge fridge that holds a week's food and drink and a separate freezer. Charcoal barbecue but you need to bring charcoal as only small bag supplied. Wood burner with logs supplied but took time to get logs burning. Short walk to pebble beach. Would love to return.

What an amazing oasis to spend time in. Surrounded by nature , watch deer, bats, badgers and squirrels from the hot tub and seals on the nearest beach. There is no need for the car as so many fabulous walks from the door and the ferry to Plymouth from Cremyll means that the amenities at the Royal William Yard are within easy reach with more amenities again within a walk at Kingsand/Cawsand, Millvroom and the Barbican or again across the water. Amazing time in this lovely place.

A large comfortable house in an excellent setting. Coast walking on one side, parkland walking on the other side. “Beach” not really suitable for swimming as big boulders and current too strong. Lovely watching shipping coming and going to Plymouth, but sometimes quite noisy!

Excellent location in the Mount Edgcumbe estate, right on the South West coastal path, easy access to Plymouth, via the Cremyll ferry, and to Kingsand/Cawsand via the coastal path. Our car didn’t move from the driveway all week as it was easy to find plenty to do locally, on foot/ferry.

What an absolutely amazing cottage in a truly fantastic location - spotless, comfortable and with enough space for six adults and a toddler to enjoy a truly relaxing week away. The accommodation is well laid out and has a large secure garden within the grounds of the Mount Edgcumbe estate, so as well as exploring the beach, the folly and the house we could also be assured our daughter was safe playing in the garden as well. It was our first time on the Rame peninsula but absolutely won't be our last!

Absolutely stunning property in a beautiful, remote and picturesque location. Very comfortable, spotlessly clean and a real get away for peace, walking and fresh air. Everything you need is in the property but would recommend taking food if you don’t fancy unlocking gates to go out at night as you are quite limited on pub options out of season, didn’t bother us as we wanted a place to get away from it all and relax, which this property offers in abundance. Hot tub is a lovely bonus after a day of walking and climbing cornish hills! We’ll definitely be back!

A beautiful, charming cottage in one of the most beautiful parts of the world.

This must be the best combination of cottage and location available in England.

We had the best holiday we’ve ever had at this wonderful cottage in idyllic location. The cottage was so comfortable and well equipped we really did not need to leave the estate at all. Great walks and glorious peace we will come back someday definitely.

A slice of heaven! If I were to dream a place up it would be Lady Emma’s with her beautiful views, her woodland walks and her home from home comforts.

Our family gathering had an absolutely wonderful time at Lady Emma’s Cottage! We walked in all directions to Kingsand and Cawsand and around the beautiful Mount Edgcumbe estate. Great meals and beers at local hostelries as well as catering for ourselves around the ample dinner table using the well-equipped kitchen. It was a perfect venue for our family celebration - thank you!

The only reason not to recommened this cottage is it will make it more popular and therefore harder to book.

Everything was great, lovely position, fabulous views and so quiet, walks straight from the door. Hot tub is always a bonus! We had a great holiday.

Very remote and peaceful cottage, with a long drive down a bumpy track. Great views of the estuary and an excellent base for walking.

Cottage is idyllic it’s just a shame that some of the fixtures are worn and need replacing.

Lady Emma’s is a beautiful house, very peaceful with an abundance of wildlife in all directions. There are loads of walks from the doorstep and you can revive in the hot tub after a days walking. We loved mount Edgcumbe park and also took a ferry across to Plymouth. A week didn’t seem long enough, we will have to return at some point.

The place to go for getting away from it all.

Fabulous location for peace, relaxation, beautiful walks, etc. Housekeepers do an awesome job to make you welcome with every detail thought about and house very clean and tidy on arrival.

The cottage was more than I had expected- what a beautiful location even in the rain! The cottage was warm and cosy with plenty of room for our party of 7 adults. We enjoyed walks from the cottage to Kingsand and also walking to Cremyll to take the ferry across to Plymouth. Spectacular views and the camellias in Mount Edgcumbe country park were a joy!

There is no doubt in our minds that Lady Emma’s Cottage is one of the best self catering cottages we’ve yet to experience. The remoteness provides an excellent retreat and makes for a wonderful base for spectacular walks along the South West Coast.

My fifth visit to Emma's, quiet and scenic with excellent walks with the dog. I would definitely recommend if you appreciate peace and relaxing surroundings.

Is was perfect!

LEC ticks all the right boxes for a great stay if you like sea views, woodland & coastal walks and a sense of privacy. Despite it's unique location, it also has access to great cafes and pubs in the locality and of course, plymouth is just a short ferry ride away for nightlife, restaurants and shops. We doubt you'll need to fall back on Plymouth attractions as there's more than enough to see and do around the Rame peninsula.

This is an extraordinarily beautiful site for a holiday cottage and we feel very lucky to have spent a week there. Also, the care and attention that Tanya and Rob give to looking after the house and grounds, makes it even more special.

Our fourth visit says it all. If you like peace and quiet in a remote location with lovely views, this is the cottage to book.

One of the best properties that we've ever visited. Home from home and wonderful setting in the woods. We love the views, isolation and coastal walks and proximity to Kingsand / Cawsand. We also love the ferries to Cawsand, Barbican and Cremyl and the sea views that they give. Definitely recommend this property for a "get away" experience with close access to a major city for those who find it too quiet.

10/10 this property is perfect. Can’t wait to return!

The photographs of this cottage do not do it justice! It is absolutely stunning! The surroundings were idyllic- an excellent location for our Christmas break: a real home from home. The cottage was excellently equipped and had everything we could want and more. We loved it!

A wonderful relaxing house and gardens, home from home, with lovely views. The welcoming and thoughtful extras left for us and our dog made us smile. Though you will need to be a keen walker to explore everything the surrounding area has to offer. Or you could be as lucky as us to see the deer from the comfort of the hot tub.

Rob and Tan were very welcoming and friendly. The cream tea, bottle of fizz and flowers were a lovely surprise. The semi skimmed and full fat milk, tea and coffee were much appreciated. The property was extremely clean. Views were outstanding and the property exceptional.

Paradise in every way.

If you like beautiful walks, excellent scenery, an abundance of wildlife and an interest in boats and ships plus excellent accommodation then this is the house for you. 10/10.

As soon as we walked through the front door we felt at home. It was quite amazing. We immediately settled down and got on with enjoying the cottage and its surroundings, which are stunning. Lots of walks to go on - and after, a hot tub to enjoy. Would highly recommend this place.

Lovely cottage, spoilt by very public walk way in front of cottage, not just a few walkers but many, not private as stated. And be aware of teenagers lighting fires on the beach ( 100 yards ) at all hours, so be prepared to close your window at night. Warning for dog owners, Tick infestation inside compound

This cottage is homely and has everything you could possibly need and more. The location is truly outstanding . The natural environment enchanting. The hot tub delightful after a full day walking in the woods. Nothing is too much trouble for the house keepers. We hope to return soon. A property of the highest calibre.

This property is a little piece of heaven!! We feel very privileged to be able to enjoy the owners property. The housekeepers do a wonderful job, and are very friendly and helpful. They make us feel like old friends. As we are going back in 6 weeks time for our 4th visit, and have already booked next years, what more can we say!! Thank you.

If you want a totally relaxing and peaceful break this is the place for you, there is no need to go anywhere as it is all here for you, stunning views, beautiful walks on your doorstep, Mt Edgcume has so much to discover and if you do miss the bright lights of the city you can pop on the ferry at Cremyll across to Plymouth. Lady Emmas Cottage is truly wonderful and very dog friendly, your furry friend will love the freedom and the enclosed garden is perfect for chasing squirrels from a safe distance.Pack the champagne for the hot tub, you really will feel as though you are the Lord or Lady of the estate while you're there!!!!

Beautiful location, such relaxing surroundings, well equipped accommodation. A great place if you have a dog, so many places to wander!!! Could not find a fault, just loved it there. Will return again in 2014, 3 years in a row. Lady Emma's is one of my families favourite places in the UK, a great discovery.

We have stayed in many 'top end' holiday homes and cottages over the years and this is certainly up there with the best. It is unrivalled for privacy, location and views. The comfort and quality of the house it's furnishings are superb and the gardens and facilities are outstanding. The added bonus of a hot tub with views of the sea and all the associated activity was the icing on the cake ! This is a real home from home - with added peace and quiet and total relaxation. Its the perfect place to escape the rat race and enjoy the nature and the scenes around you - including the deer and sheep ! Its a well looked after property with a fantastic welcome provided by Susan and Michael who look after the place so well. The home made scones and clotted cream were delicious - thankyou ! We cant wait to come back - trouble is the more people that get know about this place the more we'll struggle to get a slot ! Damn - I didn't think this through did I ?!

Our stay at LEC was everything that we could have wanted. The house was comfortable and had very good facilities (Wi Fi would be a good addition to the property). We were delighted to be able to bring our dog to share the lovely walks from the house. No driving required to reach sea, woods and country walks as everything was on the estate. We were blessed with good weather which made our visit complete but we expect that in the event of bad weather, there are plenty of attractions in nearby Plymouth, including a very good aquarium and the Barbican district, containing good pubs and restaurants. The Elizabethan history is very interesting and a historical walk is well worth the trouble. It was easy to reach local coastal villages and bays either by walking or a short drive. The Edgcumbe estate itself is very pretty and deer were spotted most days around the cottage gardens. The formal gardens and estate cafes were also worth a visit and were easily reached from the cottage on foot, albeit up a small incline. Hasta La Vista....for sure..!
