Reviews

Set in the heart of the idyllic creekside village of Lerryn with the most wonderful views from the garden across the river, this delightful cottage is the perfect retreat for family holidays or friends looking for an excuse to get together. Retaining much of its original character yet renovated to an excellent standard, Prynn's House is a very special place where wonderful holiday memories are sure to be created.

Let's start outside – the garden is fabulous! A wonderful oasis of calm and tranquility where you can sit back and observe the comings and goings of life on the river. Pretty flower borders lead you to the large lawned area and patio which provides the most wonderful setting for al fresco dining or simply whiling away the day. For those who want to practise their somersaults and seat drops there's a trampoline which has been sunk into the ground for added safety and the lovely owners also provide a whole variety of garden games to keep younger members amused, along with a full size table-tennis set for those with a competitive edge. The games-room/garage also provides ample safe storage for any bikes, kayaks and surfing gear you may bring with you.

Slate floors, granite lintels, an open fire and ornamental fireplaces add to the overall charm and character inside. The kitchen/dining-room will make mealtimes a sociable occasion and leading off is a traditional pantry/scullery providing a useful storage area for all your additional holiday kit. The comfy sitting-room overlooks the garden and invites you to enjoy lazy evenings in front of the open fire and for those who might want some quiet time there's also a little snug. Upstairs there are two pretty double bedrooms, one with an en suite shower-room, a twin room and a bunk bedroom, which will delight the younger members of the group, along with the family bathroom. Although there are beds for eight people, Prynn's House only accommodates a maximum of seven guests due to the size of the living accommodation.

Mrs Cullen

This is a beautiful house, with an amazing garden and plenty of room to be able to have your own space if needed. Loads of activities and toys for little ones which was fab. Loved the location and the pub next door is very handy for a quick pint! The caretaker was really good and answered all our questions, plus was on hand if needed.

Mrs Pownall

We had a fabulous stay at Prynn’s House, there were 3 generations plus a dog in our party and everyone was well catered for! The garden is massive and really stunning - lovely seating/BBQ area that catches the afternoon and evening sun with mesmerising views of the river and valley. The kids were entertained for many hours with the trampoline, little garden swings, table tennis and many games inside the house. I thought the downstairs of the house might be a bit cramped for the 6 of us but it is bigger than it looks from the pictures. The utility room off the kitchen is huge - great for storage and houses a freezer which means there is space in the kitchen for a full height fridge. Conveniently located, very comfortable cottage and had everything we needed would definitely stay again.

Mr Coulthard

Prynns House was a delightful cottage in the picturesque tiny village of Lerryn in South Cornwall. The cottage is very well appointed inside and out, perfect for our 2 little dogs who loved the garden. The location is perfect for day trips, particularly Fowey but also able to get to North Cornwall easy enough too. We had a fantastic holiday.

Mr Collier

Beautifully located cosy cottage, with some lovely amenities on both the property and in the village. Great access to superb countryside walks along the river. If you are looking for class, comfort, seclusion and tranquillity, you will not be disappointed with Prynn's House.

Mrs Moore

The location is superb, the house spacious and extremely comfortable. The garden is beautiful and the barbecue, table tennis etc brilliant.

Mrs Tustin

We has a fantastic week at Prynns House, the house & garden was wonderful, the location perfect. Lerryn is a beautiful quite spot with a pub and lovely shop. We paddle boarded the river & took dogs on lovely walks along the river. We will definitely be back. It was perfect.

Goldie

Lovely comfortable and spacious cottage. We had a wonderful break at Prynn's House and enjoyed the table tennis and garden immensely. The cottage is well located and there is a lot to do nearby.

Mr Holmes

The house and location made for another superb weeks holiday.

Mrs Clayton

Prynn's House is a gorgeous mid 19th C cottage right next door to The Ship Inn. It is very comfortably furnished and spacious with a stunning large garden from which there are river views. It is very child friendly and very well equipped. Lerryn is a very pretty village well served by a great village shop and a warm welcoming pub that serves yummy grub inc curries made by the chef. The walks by the river are beautiful and peaceful. Lots to see and do in the area : the walks, Duchy of Cornwall plant nursery, Lostwithiel village, Restormal Castle (not open til April 1st but we could see it from the nursery) and Lanhydrock House. Oh and Michelle, who looks after Prynn's and also works in village shop, is lovely.

Mrs Larby

Prynn’s House is in a beautiful location and the view from the garden is spectacular, but the house is hard on the road and traffic noise is intrusive.

Mrs Ward

Wonderful house in excellent location. Very well equipped and ideal for a family holiday. We had a 5 year old and two 2 year olds with us and the garden was so safe for them to run and play. Thank you Michelle who was a wonderful host Would love to return

Mrs Roberts

Lovely cottage , well equipped in a beautiful location . Parking space is small but free car park very close and you can unload outside which is a huge help . Garden with views of the river was just lovely . Lots of games, books provided and good wifi.

Mrs Shearwood

Highly recommend this place .beautiful cottage gorgeous garden .Enjoyed a glass of wine and bbq in the sunshine most evenings .Very well equipped and lovely and clean . Was a lovely surprise to have scones and cream on arrival. Would definitely stay again .

Mrs Howard

If you want a quality comfortable home with a garden from heaven..... here it is. We will always stay in Lerryn xxx

Miss Bevan

We loved our stay at Prynn's House and so did the dog! Great location, fabulous garden, wonderful views, well equipped kitchen, comfy beds and a lovely open fire in the sitting room. The kitchen and bathrooms look pretty new and were immaculately clean. Although there's no parking at the property (although you can stop outside to unload), there's a free carpark about 100yards away so dont let this put you off. The cottage is well appointed and cosy, it's blissfully peaceful even though the pub is just 2 doors down. Talking of which, the pub is lovely and friendly! Lerryn is absolutely beautiful

Mrs Edwards

Prynn’s Cottage provided us with home from home accommodation. Everything was provided for a really comfortable stay. The location was perfect, lovely walks, views and great proximity to the pub and shop. I would highly recommend it!!

Mrs Hemming

We had a lovely long weekend in Prynns House. It was perfect for 3 generations and 2 dogs and being next door to the pub was an added bonus! Fabulous house with everything you could need and Lerryn was beautiful.

Mrs Weimers

Very comfortable cottage with a large garden. It is particularly well equipped for a family with children - lots of games, toys and books - so much so that we wish we’d taken our grandchildren with us! They’d have loved it, especially the trampoline. Lerryn is an enchanting village with a good local shop and easy free parking in village if the small car space attached to the house proves a challenge for any car other than a really small one. We had a wonderfully relaxing stay - on second thoughts perhaps not having the grandchildren there was a bonus!

Mr Moore

Prynn house lovely but needed some tlc.

Ms Austin

Fabulous property, extremely comfortable and stylishly furnished. The bedding was so comfortable, I made a note and have bought some for myself since! Quite a wet week, but muddy dog walks by the river were well catered for with dog towels provided. Such a peaceful village; pub next door very friendly with great food. Enjoyed the Christmas markets at Fowey, mooching in Mevagissey, and relaxing in the beautiful kitchen and living room. Great garden for playing ball with my dog, and fabulous views across the river! Great for birdwatching and exploring. Would definitely return here. Thank you very much!

Mrs Culham

The property was absolutely beautiful, everything that we needed to make our stay truly brilliant was there. The location of Prynns house could not be better and the friendliness of the locals surpassed our expectations. For a dog friendly stay in a stylish house we could not have chosen better.

Mrs hallard

This cottage is beautiful. Been restored very well and sympathetic to its age. Very nicely kitted out with everything you could need for a lovely break away. We would thoroughly recommend.

Mr Bray

Absolutely wonderful Holiday. The property fulfilled and exceeded all expectations

Miss Lapsley

Absolutely fabulous holiday at Prynn's House. The house was lovely and have everything we needed and more. The local village was great and the location was perfect for getting out and about to explore Cornwall. A great time was had by all!

Mr Cooper

Felt like a real home, very cosy. House was always warm with plenty of hot water available.Liked all the brochures and tip books on local walks and where to visit. Local walks are superb. As a family the open plan kitchen, dining room worked really well.Kitchen had excellent equipment and children enjoyed the various board games that were available to use.We have an estate car and was initially concerned about lack of parking options but soon found out reasonably easy to find street parking close to the property.Property is in a great location with easy access to Fowey, Polperro, Looe, The Eden Project and Lanhydrock House. We had a lovely holiday at Prynn House and would definitely consider staying again next time we visit beautiful Cornwall.

Mrs Moore

Wonderful well equipped cottage in a beautiful location.

Mrs Williams

We love this cottage - the garden is amazing and the main attraction but the house is also very comfortable and full of character. Stunning garden with beautiful views. Well equipped and fun things to do - table tennis, trampoline and a pub right next door. Lerryn is a hidden gem as it somehow manages to be peaceful and lively at the same time. The estuary gives the place a different feel every day, attracting kayakers, cyclists and a lot of dog walkers. We have completely fallen in love with the village and beautiful house and garden.

Mrs Roke

This is a lovely cottage. It is well equipped with everything you need to make your stay enjoyable. Lerryn is so pretty and there are many walks from the cottage. It is also well situated to get to Fowey, Looe, Polperro, Bodmin Moor and many other places of interest. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Mrs Scott

A lovely cottage in a superb location. The living space is quite small and only seating for 5 in the sitting room which is a shame. Beautiful garden which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Ms Benham

Prynns House is a very comfortable stay in the beautiful and peaceful riverside village of Lerryn. There are great walks direct from the house and the garden enjoys a superb view over the river. Lerryn is near Looe, Polperro and Fowey. We would definitely recommend it.

Mrs Stainton

Prynn's House was perfect for our family of seven plus baby. We loved everything about it. Often places don't have enough seating for families of our size but we all fitted comfortably into the main lounge and the dining table was big enough for us all. The outside space was fabulous (wish we had brought some apples home!). Table tennis tournaments were a daily occurrence. Having the village shop within a stones throw was brilliant. We were slightly worried beforehand that it might be noisy with the pub next door (especially as we arrived on bank holiday weekend). But no worries about that at all. All the equipment that you might need (even down to buckets and spades for the beach!) Best holiday cottage we have been to in a long time - possibly ever! We didn't want to leave.

Mr Innes

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Prynn’s House. The location was excellent as it is not an area of Cornwall we have visited before. Lovely walks around Lerryn. The creek provided daily entertainment if it wasn’t children paddling it was dogs enjoying the water. There was always something happening be it kayaks paddleboards or small boats. And when the sun shone the garden at Prynn’s House was idyllic, peaceful and quiet. Great holiday.

Mrs Pike

We would highly recommend the cottage for it's location, setting, cleanliness and decor. Wonderful all round.

Ms Benham

Would highly recommend Prynns House, a real home from home and comfortable house with a happy atmosphere. Lerryn is a lovely riverside village and special place.

Mrs Aldridge

Beautiful character cottage, loved the decor and the wonderful garden. Location was excellent for exploring the area. Local shop great for supplies, and cream teas!

Ms Battaglia

Very warm & cosy with everything you need with a young child & a dog (one that is not an escape artist like ours...he could, unfortunately, find ways out of the lovely garden). Magical hot water hose outside & even a mixer in the kitchen. What a incredible place little Lerryn is! We would return. Thank you for the Christmas tree!

Ms Beazley-Miller

The garden and house were delightful and totally dog/child friendly. Would love to visit again in the winter - in a 4x4 though!

Ms Mitchell

The cottage is beautifully restored with everything you could wish for a comfortable & stylish holiday. The garden is magnificent with stunning views. Lerryn is a magical location, nestled by a tidal creek, surrounded by ancient woodlands, which affords peace & tranquility. A must to visit.

Mrs Hopegood

Heaven on earth!

Mr Whitford

I thought the cottage had everything you require for a lovely holiday, tastefully furnished all to a very high standard.

Mrs Medcroft

Lovely stay in a home from home cottage with lots of added extras like dog bowls and cook books + utensils for easy entertaining. Loved it and have already recommended it to family and friends detailing the quite spot that Lerryn is, yet with easy access to all that Cornwall has to offer in the height of the busy holiday season.

Mr Orpin

A warm and comfortable, beautifully located cottage with a lovely enclosed garden. Ideal for a family with a dog.
