Reviews

Perfectly situated in the idyllic waterside village of Flushing, Trevennen Cottage is a traditional Cornish cottage, beautifully restored and stylishly furnished to capture the very essence of holiday living. Traditional features marry seamlessly with contemporary furnishings here, making this the ideal abode for either a family holiday or friends looking for a Cornish retreat.

From the moment you arrive in Flushing, driving along pretty countryside lanes with estuary views, you will be charmed. Trevennen Cottage sits in the centre of the village in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (now known as National Landscapes), just a stone's throw away from the water's edge. Positioned in a row of similar terraced cottages, the front door leads into the stylishly furnished sitting-room with a feature fireplace and wood-burning stove, making this an ideal year-round location. Behind the sitting-area, the dining-table provides the perfect place to gather round for a meal, or perhaps an evening of board games. To the rear of the cottage, you will find a small kitchen with all the equipment you will need to cook a holiday meal.

A contemporary glass-sided staircase leads to the first floor where you will find two double bedrooms, decorated in cool white shades and dressed in pretty linens, and the family shower-room. Steep ladder steps lead from the first floor to the second floor snug/bedroom (please take care on the steps as they are steep and should only be used by adults or children over the age of eight). The single bed (4') can accommodate a fifth guest but please note this is to be used by an adult or a child over the age of 12 only.

Outside the back door, a secluded patio provides the perfect spot for your morning coffee. There is a little outhouse in the corner where you will find the washing machine and recycling facilities. A stone staircase leads steeply up the side of the cottage to reveal a fabulous decked seating area, surrounded by trees, which overlooks the rooftops and offers a bird's eye view towards the Carrick Roads and Falmouth. Please take great care when using the steps as they are steep in places and may be slippery when wet.

Whether you are looking for a quiet coastal retreat or a family holiday with the dog, Trevennen Cottage has all the ingredients for a magical getaway.

Babies up to the age of 12 months and children aged four and over are welcomed at this property.

Mrs Holloway

What a lovely place to stay. There is everything you could possibly need and some extras - make sure you read the folder to find them. We would definitely book again.

Mr Lyden

We really enjoyed our stay at Flushing over May half term holidays, which was a great base for us to visit Falmouth, the local university, St Michaels Mount and other Cornish towns. The cottage is really charming and worked well for us, a couple, teenage daughter and grandma (and our cocker-poo), with the loft room a great hideaway for our daughter. The cottage is really central within Flushing within a short walk to three pub/restaurants and a great local shop. We ate at The Boathouse and the food and service was excellent. It is also a big relief that you are allowed to bring a dog, but you will need to walk round the village at toilet time as you can’t use the back yard. We would definitely come back.

Mrs Cutler

We really enjoyed our stay at Trevennen Cottage. It had everything we needed for a relaxing week away. The cottage was well equipped, beds were super comfy and we loved Flushing. We were able to go off exploring the surrounding area knowing we had a cosy little cottage to come back to each night. Would definitely go back again.

Mrs Kingston

We spent a lovely week in February at this charming cottage. It was spotless upon arrival, had a great layout and lots of thoughtful extras to make our stay comfortable. The decor is lovely, kitchen well equipped and bedrooms very spacious. There was ample parking on the road. The locals were very friendly and the village delightful. We highly recommend!

Prof Cooper

We very much enjoyed our stay in this cottage - it easily accommodated our family 2 parents plus 1 teenager and one 20 year old. The linens, beds, towels and shower were all great and added a really restful element to the holiday. Parking was quite straightforward even in August. The village beach is a short walk through the village and provided an enjoyable swimming experience. The restaurants are great and the ferry gets you across to busy and entertaining Falmouth quickly. We bought a Fal Mussel card to make the best use of public transport.

Mrs Crane

We had a wonderful stay at Trevennen Cottage in beautiful Flushing. The cottage was peaceful and comfortable and had everything we needed for a lovely holiday in Cornwall!
