Nestled in the heart of Cornwall, this remarkable 400 year old farmhouse is more than just a holiday cottage, it's an experience. From the moment you arrive, you're greeted by the enchanting beauty of its lovingly tended garden, which provides the perfect backdrop for your stay. The real welcome begins when you step inside, where the owner's exceptional homemade bread and cake await, together with very thoughtful welcome treats and surprises to make you feel instantly at home. Accommodating six lucky guests (but offering a reduction at certain times of year for smaller parties) and two, four-legged friends are most welcome too.

At the heart of this home is a kitchen that any food lover would envy. So practical in its design and quality, it features a twin-oven electric Rangemaster, honed granite worktops, and a timeless double Belfast sink. Whether you're whipping up a simple breakfast or preparing a feast for family and friends, this space is designed to inspire. The large dining-table seats eight which is convenient if you are a larger party and it's the perfect space for gathering and sharing stories of the day's adventures. (You can also book neighbouring property Mount Wise Cottage (2187) that sleeps two, for even more family fun).

The farmhouse's charm is evident in every corner, from its thick granite walls to its original fireplaces. The cosy sitting-room invites you to relax by the wood-burning stove, while the beautifully decorated bedrooms offer peaceful havens for restful nights. Each space has been thoughtfully arranged by the owner (who lives nearby) to balance historic character with modern comfort, creating a truly special place to unwind.

Mrs Musselwhite

This cottage is so much better than than the description and pictures, it oozes comfort, luxury and character. The owner has thought of everything and the kitchen is as well equipped as one’s own home- making cooking a breeze. I would highly recommend this cottage.

Mrs Beer

As always, Jane’s welcome is the best - homemade bread & marmalade, milk, wine, sparkling elderflower & chocolates too! After a very late arrival due to snow in Devon delaying us by 6 hours, it was even more welcoming to find the wood burner already lit. Jane is so helpful & attentive to her guests that a stay at Mountwise Farm is a treat.

Frau Polte

The most charming comfortable and well-managed holliday retreat in a very central location. Staying at Mount Wise Farmhouse alloud us to visit all the beautiful and exciting places in Cornwall within baerly half an hour. The friendly and good-humoured owner welcomed us with delicious homemade bread and jams. All rooms had fresh flowers, the rooms were perfectly clean. Jane even supplied us with fire wood for our cosy evenings around the oven. It is a dog friendly holiday let with lots of madows and fields to walk the pups. Thank you for this lovely holiday place, Jane

Attention to detail was superb, all furniture and fixtures are of the highest quality- not what you come to expect in a holiday let. Lovely roomy Farmhouse, very dog friendly. Highly recommended

Mr Theodore

Amazing cottage and location, so many extras provided. The cake and homemade bread were delicious. Great location for visiting lots of fabulous places around Cornwall. Definitely needed 2 weeks to relax and enjoy the facilities and location. Jane the owner was on hand for anything that was needed. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Mr Jeffery

We had a fantastic stay at Mount Wise Farmhouse which is located in an idyllic setting not far from all the lovely beaches and other attractions in West Cornwall. The farmhouse was extremely well equipped, wonderfully clean and full of character. Our host Jane was very friendly and helpful and the homemade marmalade was really something. Thanks for a wonderful stay - we hope to be back some time in the near future! John, Laura, Isla and Jack.

Mrs Nicholls

Quite simply the best presented cottage I have ever visited. Spotlessly clean, every little detail had been thought through as well as comfortable lounge area, beds and linen, very well equipped kitchen & fluffy towels. We were welcomed with flowers in every room, fresh homemade bread and marmalade, chocolates, wine, tea, fresh coffee and milk and the lovely owner Jane was on hand for any queries and advice. I would not hesitate to recommend and hope to return one day

Mrs Nicholson

Jane is a perfect host. So many extras that we’ve not had staying in other cottages with Classic . Everything has been thought of and catered for. Even coming to the rescue with Stock Cubes. The situation is perfect as is the location. We will definitely going back next year.

Mr. Schmitt

- very nice hosts, very pleasant and uncomplicated - great welcome, home-baked bread, home-made jam, milk, prosecco and elderflower lemonade... - fresh flowers in every room - ideal for two couples or families - perfectly equipped kitchen - very central location for exploring west Cornwall

Mrs Cairns

Beautiful cottage with every care taken to ensure the perfect stay.

Mrs Holland

The property was fantastic , well above expectation , we have never stayed in such a well equipped and thought out property , making the Christmas meal was a an actual pleasure . We really appreciated the personal touches , the place felt more like a home than just a holiday rental .

Mrs Credland

Mount Wise Farmhouse was just like home from home. Warm , cosy with extremely comfy beds with luxury bedding along with luxury towels in bathrooms. The hostess, Jane, is so welcoming and attentive and the extras she leaves are many, including toiletries, wine, milk, soft drink, fresh tea, coffee and sugar and her delicious homemade bread. There are her fifteen acres of farm field edges to meander through, which Jane keeps cut for your comfort, along with a decking area in the small enclosed paddock where you can relax and take in the views. She is always ready to have a chat and her knowledge of the area is excellent. I would highly recommend this property to any future guests.

Mr Slinger

Mount Wise Farm is a wonderful place to stay. It’s beautifully furnished and maintained with everything you could possibly need on holiday especially the very well-equipped kitchen. The host couldn't have been more kind and helpful. The lovely flowers and goodies were greatly appreciated. We have a greyhound who particularly loved been able to have a run around in the adjacent field which also has a lovely patio area. It's a perfect place for a holiday with a dog. Well, actually, it is just a perfect place altogether.

Mr Major

The presentation and quality of this property was exceptional. Very friendly and accommodating owner. Would highly recommend!

Mr Dickinson

We highly recommend a stay at Mount Wise Farmhouse. It’s owner, Jane, is the most committed and thoughtful host we have come across in our many self-catering stays over the years. The location is perfect for accessing so many lovely locations, or for simply staying and enjoying the beautiful farmhouse and its extremely well-cared for surroundings. Nice walks and areas to cycle can also be found locally. The house was exceptionally clean and comfortable and fitted out with very high-quality equipment, bedding and towels. Jane was very generous in her provision of essentials, and added luxuries too - including fresh flowers in all the main rooms, freshly home-baked bread and other treats, which was a lovely welcome. There are also plenty of books and games to enjoy. The outdoor seating space across the lane from the beautiful raised garden was an added bonus, which we thoroughly enjoyed making use of after cooking our meals in the fabulous kitchen and taking it outdoors. Never got round to barbecuing as we enjoyed using the kitchen so much. Having a separate staircase to one of the three bedrooms worked really well for us, staying as we were with our adult ‘children’ and partners. The option of a shower room or the additional (beautiful) bathroom was great. We were extremely comfortable and lacked absolutely nothing - experiencing the joys of space, character and comfort in abundance. This isn’t simply a ‘home from home’ but the home we would love to live in all year. Thank you Jane for being an exceptional host and making our stay absolutely perfect. We would love to return - perhaps in the winter too when we can thoroughly appreciate the warmth of the delightful ‘Rayburn’ radiating through the house. Wonderful.

Mr Shrimpton

We loved our stay at Mount Wise Farmhouse. Great location, very well managed with so much attention to detail and quality. The house itself has everything you need and more to have the most comfortable and relaxing of holidays. Our dogs loved the walks from the door with the nearby pub on the reservoir providing some memorable times. We would definitely go back. Thumbs-up to Jane the owner who helped make our stay special.

Mr Booth

Friendly, welcoming host Beautifully decorated, very comfortable, well equipped and scrupulously clean accommodation. Wonderful setting Just a wonderful place to stay

Mrs Hitchman

Highly recommend a stay at Mount Wise Farmhouse. It is well placed to explore Cornwall, within easy reach of north and south coasts. Owner had gone to a lot of effort to prepare cottage for our arrival which was really appreciated, and was friendly and welcoming, but respected our privacy throughout our stay. House was in a lovely setting, spacious, well laid out and beautifully furnished to a high standard and really well equipped with everything you’d need. Felt like a comfortable welcoming home and we really enjoyed our stay here. Short drive to lovely local pub and cafe.

Mr Gorton

Exceptional stay with a great deal of effort by Jane to prepare the cottage for our arrival. We were made to feel welcomed and looked after throughout and we had a comfortable and relaxing stay.

Miss Cox

Wow what a lovely warm wonderful home from home! Where to begin. Jane the owner went above and beyond providing us with an amazing welcome pack fresh bread, Prosecco milk fudge etc. she was also very generous with her time and knowledge and it was a joy to meet her. The best equipped kitchen and property we’ve ever stayed in. Sharp knives ( hurray) there were 3 fridges and a freezer and a huge amount of crockery and ( matching) glasses, which came in very handy when we had other family members staying for the weekend. we had a constant supply of logs and the Rayburn kept the cottage so snug. Nice large utility/boot room came in very handy in the winter. The bedrooms were sumptuous. lovely bedding and towels and that bath!! The cottage has 5 fields to roam around with the dog and the farmhouse is on the jubilee walking trail and you can walk around the reservoir , there’s a small start-up farm shop next door open fri-sun at the mo and a lovely pub down the road looking over the reservoir. It’s positioned well for Falmouth, the Lizard, St Ives etc and loads of gardens nearby We asked Jane if she could do something about the weather and she provided us with a blanket of snow magical. Maria, Kirsty , Bronnie and Bob

Mrs Stanworth

A delightful old cottage full of charm and character. We particularly enjoyed the Rayburn even during a relatively mild October. The cottage is well located for trips into the western end of the peninsula such as the Lizard, Porthcurno and the tin mining area around St Just. Jane is a kind and thoughtful hostess who tolerated some of our doggy idiosyncrasies!

Mr Halstead

A fantastic mix of old and new. The Rayburn gave the place a constant cosy feel, our dog loved stretching out on the rug in front of it at the end of the day. A fully equipped modern kitchen was available when we felt like cooking. We received a warm welcome from the owner who was friendly but not intrusive. Whilst located off the beaten track, the cottage still gives easy access to many good beaches and several National Trust properties. We would love to return here again.

Mrs Walters

We thought the farmhouse was one of the most comfortable and well equipped properties we have stayed in. Walking in to scented candles and flowers in every room was very welcoming and Jane was the perfect host. We would definitely return.

Mrs Skinner

Exceptional cottage in an exceptional location. A real home from home with all the extra details needed to make it a 5* stay. Spotlessly clean, high quality stylish interiors, extra touches like flowers, freshly baked bread, well tended gardens in a 15 acre plot. Super effort from the owner going that extra mile to make everything comfortable and enjoyable.

Mrs Evans

A really beautiful farmhouse. Very homely and comfortable and the owner really made our holiday feel special with extra touches such as flowers, soaps and homemade bread. Thank you! The beds are really comfortable and it has a lovely bath. One of the nicest cottages we have stayed in. Good location for accessing North and South coasts. You do need to mind your head as low beams. And do need a car.

Mrs Brooks

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely cottage. The owner made us very welcome. The cottage is very well equipped, comfy beds and there were lots of little extras which really made a difference. Our dog loved all the fields to run in too. Would highly recommend!

Mr Toogood

The property is lovely and just what we needed for a week exploring Cornwall. We would recommend the walk to the Golden Lion pub which takes you along Stithians reservoir which is stunning - especially in the good weather we had. We will certainly be booking again. Thank you

Mrs Austin

Mount Wise is a beautiful rural farmhouse in a peaceful location. The host was really welcoming giving us a lovely welcome pack. We enjoyed having plenty of rooms - very comfortably furnished to a high standard, and the paddock & fields were great to explore with walks nearby that we did with our dog who was also in her element. Whilst a car is essential we had the advantage of being near to the coastal paths and beaches, but also to the towns of Falmouth and Truro (a particular favourite). The host was always very helpful plus gave us information about the local area. Local gardens to visit were the impressive Trebah Gardens with its' secret cove. An amazing holiday to recharge our batteries. Certainly one to repeat.

Mrs Ratigan

Absolutely loved our stay at Mount Wise Farmhouse. It is extremely warm and cosy and its location meant we could explore town, country and beaches during our stay. Highly recommend.

Mr Westwood

We found that the farm house was lovely, clean and tidy and everything we needed , the owner welcomed us on arrival and when we left, she called to say have a safe journey home. She could not have been more helpful. The farmhouse was very clean and the linen was exceptional nice and clean / fresh along with all the other utensils and facilities there, All this made our stay very enjoyable and will definatly will book again. The accommodation is a credit to the owner . Thank you and thank you to the owner

Mr Nelstrop

We had a lovely time at Mount Wise! Jane was an amazing host and we can see that she has put her heart into the cottage. We felt very comfortable and enjoyed spending time in the cottage. It was not cheap but well worth it. there is a lack of walks directly from the cottage but it was very convenient to visit lots of great places by car.

Dr O'Connell

Our host, Jane, was lovely. She sent us a text before we arrived and was on hand to answer questions. We loved all the personal touches - homemade bread, wine, chocolates, soap - as well as how helpful she was to us when we were staying. The cottage was gorgeous, the garden was beautiful, and the location was amazing.

Mr Baker

Mount Wise Farmhouse was delightful, one of the best cottages we have stayed in. Very peaceful, comfortable and in a good location for spending time visiting either coast line. The reservoir is pretty too. Jane the owner was lovely, bakes amazing bread! We hope to visit Mount Wise again.

Mrs Morrison

We had a fabulous holiday staying at Mount Wise Farmhouse. A traditional cottage in a great location with original features, wooden beams, stone floor, log fire etc yet with a modern twist and everything provided for. Very comfortable and especially enjoyed the free standing bath, ideal after a long day's walk around the beautiful cornish countryside. We received lovely welcome gifts and Jane (the owner) was a great host providing help & advice about the cottage and recommendations on the local area. Would definitely recommend staying here.
