Mount Wise Cottage

Mount wise cottage is very comfortable and welcoming. We had a lovely relaxing week here. Jane the owner is lovely and her homemade cake and bread are really good. The cottage is a good base for exploring in the Falmouth area with lots of country walks nearby. You can walk in her fields with your dog a real bonus before going out for the day. The Seven Stars Inn at Stithians is a very good pub and worth a visit.

We had a lovely holiday in Mountwise cottage, this is a great place to stay, the location is perfect, this is our second visit as we were so pleased with our first stay, Jane the owner is very friendly and welcoming, it was a lovely touch with the wine, chocolates, homemade marmalade and bread and fresh flowers in every room. We would highly recommend this cottage.

The owner Jane is an excellent host and the property is a credit to her hard work. We enjoyed our stay very much. Jane's garden recommendations were spot on.

Mount Wise Farm will not disappoint. We enjoyed a superb relaxing break in the cottage and plan to return very soon.

This is without doubt one of the best cottages we've stayed at,and we've been hiring out cottages for over 40 year's...so that's saying something...Jane the owner always on hand if you need anything...and what a lovely welcome..home made bread and jam and a bottle of wine...it really did feel very welcoming.

The cottage was really wonderful lovely setting . Lovely position easy to get lots of places really nice walk around the reservoir lots of wildlife . Went to lots of great national trust places . The cottage was very comfortable nice and warm plenty of hot water lots of thought in providing all you would need . Welcome gifts and beautiful fresh flowers made it extra special .

Easy to navigate and book

A beautiful cosy little cottage both inside and out, which was handy for visiting many places. We had a lovely stay and hope to return.

Lovely peaceful spotlessly clean farm cottage in a perfect location near Stithians reservoir, within easy reach of other areas of Cornwall. Jane the owner was very friendly and helpful, home made bread and marmalade along with wine and chocolates was a very nice touch. We will definitely book this cottage again.

Beautiful little cottage with both plenty of walks from the doorstep and short drive to both north and south coasts. Very pleasant owners who make you feel welcome. Both myself and my sister enjoyed our stay immensely despite the weather. Would love to return next year.

This is a wonderful warm and cosy cottage for two with every home comfort and lovely treats from Jane. It's location is perfect for observing the wildlife at the nearby Stithians Lake and the surrounding towns and villages.

Mount wise cottage was beautifully presented with lots of extras, we were made to feel very welcomed by the host Very dog friendly with walks through the hosts fields on the doorstep. Location was perfect for visiting both north and south coast. Would highly recommend a stay at mount wise!

Mount Wise Cottage is the perfect base for a couple hoping to explore Western Cornwall. A lovely quiet character cottage with excellent facilities, excellent host and no stone left unturned.

Small but adequate cottage with a very steep staircase. Lovely quiet, rural location, but also central to more popular areas. Good for walking and wildlife. Dog friendly with footpaths and field paths from the cottage. Host very accommodating and friendly. Highly recommended.

The whole cottage is beautifully furnished and everything you could ever think of is supplied, in fact in real life it is even prettier than the photos show. The views are lovely, the position is perfect for visiting all coastal towns and Truro….I couldn’t decide whether to stay in Hayle, Falmouth or Porthleven and this was a perfect choice, all three were very easy to get to. To cover practical matters….the heating was on and lovely and warm, very cosy (I was worried it might be cold since it was February) the bed was comfortable, the water always hot, all kitchen equipment was excellent quality and it felt like a welcoming hug as you walked through the door. Jane is a perfect host, friendly, welcoming and made sure that we had everything we could need. It was a treat to have flowers in every room, fresh bread, wine and chocolates, especially as it was my birthday that week…..she even popped in a birthday card! We will be looking forward to our next visit!

Very quiet and peaceful cottage at south end of Stithians Lake but easily accessible to local facilities and to main A394 Helston to Falmouth road, lots of Cornwall is within rapid travelling distance. Comfortable, well equipped cottage, great for a relaxing break, small garden to sit out in and enjoy the birdsong and quiet surroundings. Owner lives on site and is very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed our second stay here and certainly recommended.

The cottage is in a lovely setting and very central to the southern part of Cornwall so it makes a very good base to explore from. It is very well presented and the owner is very friendly and helpful. The cottage has everything you need for your stay and the bed is very comfortable. The little welcome gifts are very appreciated too.

Cosy cottage, excellent host who left some lovely extra welcome touches for us. Comfortable bed and well equipped kitchen. Bathroom is on the ground floor and the stairs are steep so if you have mobility issues this is something to take into account. Access to amenities close by with farm shop next door for fresh local produce. Links to coastline and beaches are excellent.

Simply perfect, keep it secret!

This was the perfect cottage for our holiday in Cornwall this year. The house was lovely- clean and well set out with everything we needed. The fields around the cottage provided a safe environment for our dog to roam around and run off long trips in the car. The cottage couldn’t be better located. Not far from beaches each side and lovely countryside all around. Just down the road is the reservoir which has a great cafe and lake side sports and walks. A walk round the lake at nightfall was as peaceful as you could get with lots of interesting wild life. Could not recommend this enough and I haven’t even mentioned wine, lemonade, chocs and fresh home baked bread that awaited us along with lovely fresh flowers everywhere. What’s not to like?

Fabulous week at Mount Wise Cottage, which is in a lovely peaceful setting with views of the lake. Very well situated for visiting different places in Cornwall. Jane was a super host, supplied flowers in the cottage, milk, homemade bread, wine and felt very comfortable and at home and the weather was excellent too.

This little cottage has everything you need and is within easy reach of so much of this part of Cornwall. The welcome was lovely, fresh flowers, wine chocs. ect. We had a lovely stay and would definitely like to return sometime.

A absolutely delightful cottage, which we loved staying in. Warm and cosy, and beautifully decorated. The kitchen was well equipped, and the food & drink left for us by the owner was much appreciated.

A very quiet and peaceful location - but not so convenient if you wish to spend time on the coast, as travelling on some busy and narrow roads will be involved. We were happy to focus more locally.

After 2 years of lockdowns what a pleasure to get away and this cottage was just perfect. Jane made us so welcome and at home. We will definately be coming back!

The cottage was very clean and you felt immediate at home. It had everything you needed, especially in the kitchen, if you like cooking. Jane, the owner, had added little extras on arrival that created a warm welcome. The furnishing were comfortable and suited the cottage, and the heating was really warm for my December stay. Love to go back and definitely recommend it as the location was good with easy access to Falmouth, Penzance, St Ives and thereabouts.

We would certainly recommend Mount Wise Cottage. Cosy and warm cottage ideal for a out of season break. Personal touches on arrival such as freshly baked bread and fresh flowers made it even more special. The cottage is in am ideal location for exploring the local area.

Excellent cottage, surpassed all our expectations

We very much enjoyed our stay at Mount Wise Cottage. We found that it everything we needed, was cosy, warm and very well equipped. It's central location meant that it was ideally positioned for short distance drives to both north and south coasts plus other attractions in the south west of Cornwall. Would highly recommend a stay in this accommodation.

Our host was very welcoming and friendly. The cottage is well-situated, set back from the road and in tranquil surroundings. It is beautifully decorated and the thoughtful touches of flowers, home-made bread and wine were much appreciated. We had a very happy week there exploring the coastal paths and gardens.

The cottage was well equipped, very clean and fresh. The host was perfect friendly but not intrusive.

Jane provided a very personal touch by baking bread for our arrival. There was also milk, wine and elderflower presse in the fridge. We felt very welcome and perhaps made ourselves too much at home! The garden bench in the field to catch the evening sun was lovely and allowed us to socialise with the couple who were renting the farmhouse. We will definitely consider coming back here again. A great base for exploring south-west Cornwall.

All the attention to detail was amazing wine, milk and cordial in the fridge, freshly baked delicious loaf of bread & flowers in all the rooms.

The cottage is situated in a very good area, as you can access a number of towns, beaches, Lizard not far away, Did a lot of hiking. HIGHLY RECOMMED.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Well located as there are many places to visit, all within 20 minutes or so driving time. Jane, the owner of the property couldn't have been more helpful. Superb cottage. Small, but cosy, warm, clean and extremely well decorated. With the surrounding fields it was perfect for exercising our dog too.

Lovely cottage is quiet location. Perfectly situated for access to west Cornwall and both north and south coastlines. This cottage is more welcoming than a normal basic holiday let and the owner should be congratulated for 'going the extra mile' and making the property more welcoming than a normal holiday let, with fresh fruit and flowers to welcome the visitors.

Quite possibly the cosiest cottage in Cornwall

Mount Wise Cottage is a relaxing, cosy getaway, and still provides a homely feel. Jane makes you feel very welcome, and goes above and beyond to make your stay special. Flowers, fruit bowls, homemade jam and bubbles for your evening bath, to name a few things. Everything was clean and luxurious. She even spoils the dog, with a fantastic dog bag full of goodies and essentials. The surrounding fields and the nearby reservoir, are perfect for exercise for you and your dog. I can honestly say I will be visiting again, and would recommend Mount Wise Cottage to anyone who's looking for a perfect break.

The cottage was very warm and comfortable with beautiful furnishings. The bathroom was bigger than it looked on the picture and it was good to have constant hot water and heating to dry the towels especially in November. We really appreciated the homemade bread and flowers along with all the extras in the kitchen and bathroom which made the cottage so welcoming. Jane was also very helpful and friendly.

Mount Wise cottage is the perfect place for a relaxing holiday in Cornwall. The location is very convenient for exploring in any direction. The cottage itself is brimming with charm and character, yet supplied every convenience from the well-stocked kitchen to the comfy beds. Lovely remote location, perfect for my friend and me. The beds are very comfortable and the owner is extremely friendly. I would stay here again, with a few small changes.

This cottage proved to be a very cosy and quite haven during our Christmas stay, with the owners available to give help and advice without any intrusion. The location is ideal for visiting the north and south coast, with our favorite locations around Falmouth, parts of the Lizard and St Ives very accessible. Despite the weather walks from the cottage with our dog either around the owners fields, lake or public footpaths were very accessible, with the added bonus of not requiring the car. All in all a very enjoyable stay.

My husband and I had a fabulous week, great cottage and the weather was perfect. Warm welcome from owner and even fresh flowers and fruit. So many thoughtful details, CD player and CDs, games, books to read. The cottage certainly exceeded our expectations.

This cottage is in a perfect location to explore west Cornwall. All the highlights in this wonderful area, from gardens to coastal hikes and much more, are at hand and can be easily reached in a short time.

Cosy holiday home with nice touches such as flowers, fruit basket and home made bread. Made to feel very welcome by the host.

Great location within quick access to Falmouth, Redruth, St Ives and The Lizard. Excellent for the dog, with plenty of walking and fields around the property this is a dogs paradise. Property is lovely with pretty rooms and the bathroom and kitchen have everything you need. Owner provides facilities for dog such as bowls and towels. Very happy with stay would definately stay again.

This cottage was perfect for our style of holiday. The cottage was very clean, very dog friendly, everything you could want for a self-catering stay - we even had a doggie bag which included bowl, treats and a towel to wipe her paws! A bowl of fruit was supplied for us, which was a nice touch. Centrally located for both coasts and pub with good food within reach. Would recommend.

Mount Wise is a compact, well equipped and charming cottage well off the beaten track. We found the owner very helpful with good advice on places to visit and local facilities. Our stay there was a delightful experience.

The little cottage was very cosy. We enjoyed to stay there. The owner welcomed us with pretty flowers and a bowl of fruits in the cottage. She and her family were very friendly and helpful.

This cottage is really very lovely and it's very good equiped. It's well loacted to explore Cornwall and to enjoy the peaceful area surrounding the cottage. However, for shopping, etc a car is required. We were 2 people staying at the cottage, which was perfect. From our feeling the cottage would be quite small for four people.

We would highly recommend Mount Wise Cottage for couples or parents with a young baby. Great location to explore Cornwall from and the cottage was very nice and well kitted out.

Be seen as the starting point for all Cornwell is the perfect cottage. Unfortunately, the decor was a little outdated but still loving. Fresh flowers and fresh fruit were provided by the landlord.
