Reviews

A contemporary barn conversion with views over rolling hills; this retreat is set in the heart of the stunning Cornish countryside and is such a tranquil spot. As the name suggests you can enjoy watching majestic buzzards rise over the hills beyond which is really quite magical.

Making your way to Buzzard's Rise through pretty lanes following a babbling stream, you feel the stress of life drifting away. Parking up in the large car parking area you are greeted by a lovely view and of course your cosy abode. Step into the property through the double doors into the light and airy reception room, you will instantly relax. Enjoy snuggling up on the sofa in front of your favourite film or read in comfortable silence from one of the books the owner has left for you to enjoy. Two steps lead up to the chic kitchen/diner, it is well-stocked for all your culinary needs and with calming views over the fields, it is a great place to eat your breakfast.

The double bedroom is at the far end of the barn with a modern flair and the only sounds are the hooting owls and perhaps a rustle of a badger outside, just bliss. The bedroom also has a bright, modern en suite shower-room which is very handy.

Outside, the barn has a private sitting-area with a table and chairs where you will be surrounded by wildlife and can watch the buzzards rise over the fields. There is also a lovely open lawned area where you can enjoy a chilled glass of wine in the evening light and perhaps enjoy a bit of bird watching and the dog can stretch their legs. The owner is on site but the property maintains its privacy, if you have any questions they are of course happy to help.

Really pleasant stay. Hosts helpful yet unobtrusive. Immaculately clean which was appreciated for our first Covid holiday. Very well equiped kitchen. Mrs Gay

Excellent in all aspects. We had a wonderful week at Buzzard's Rise. The delightful property was set in a tranquil location with views over fields and conveniently located for visiting Falmouth and areas to the south, west and north. The property was perfectly clean, bright and comfortable. Every night we had a good night's sleep even though we were there during very hot weather. The owners, Shirley and Gerry, had thought through everything that a couple would require for a stay there including leaving fresh fruit, milk, tea, coffee and sugar and a bottle of Prosseco. They were a lovely, friendly couple, keen to ensure our stay was comfortable. We rarely return to the same accommodation twice but Buzzard's Rise is probably going to be the exception - we loved it'.
