Headford Farm Cottage

Our stay was wonderful, everything had been thought of in the cottage from doggy treats to coffee and tea and welcome biscuits for us. It's a beautifully converted barn, spacious and comfortable, peaceful and just delightful. Our dog loved sniffing around the paddocks. Emily has thought of so many details to make staying here a real pleasure.

Absolutely beautiful place....well maintained with everything you need for a short break. The only downside is that you need a car to go anywhere as the lane is to narrow to walk along.

Second visit to Headford Farm Cottage...albeit nearly 5 years apart. Fire lit for our arrival and festive decorations.....great cosy warm welcome, as weather was howling at the time of arrival! Plenty of walks straight from cottage so no need to use car, for a few days at least. Very spacious living area with two nice big sofas. Car parking right outside front door The outside patio area looks good...but as this was a New Year visit with generous amounts of wind and rain we were either squelching in the mud out walking or warm inside by the wood burner...lovely. Thoroughly recommended.

A beautiful place to stay, spotlessly clean and every thing you need, a real home from home. Emily was very helpful if needed. Perfect retreat if you have a dog. We will definitely be returning.

Excellent place to stay with two Labradors. Lots of fantastic walks to enjoy for both humans and canines. Very useful having the use of the meadow and orchard adjacent to the cottage for dogs first thing in the morning and last thing at night. Also a lovely place to sit and enjoy the surroundings.

Been coming to this location for several years now. What can I say. It’s amazing. Comfortable. Relaxing. Quiet. Trouble is when you have to leave. I’ve sorted that part of it though. Just booked to go back as soon as we can. Thank you

First time here and if you are after a good base to walk The Quantocks then this is it! Really comfortable, spacious for 2, effective wood burner and appreciated the free logs. A well thought out and planned holiday Cottage with everything thought of. Owners next door but hardly saw them so certainly not obtrusive. Paddocks across the drive great for the dogs.

Wonderful, peaceful and comfortable stay at Headford Farm Cottage. The owners were really welcoming to us and our dogs and have created a lovely space to either chill out and enjoy the local walks and farm grounds or explore the local area. The small courtyard area catches the afternoon and evening sun to drink the local beers and ciders and the log burner was the perfect end to the day. It was also great to have the paddock to exercise the dogs and spot pheasants and rabbits! Bed was very comfortable, shower nice and hot, well equipped kitchen was great to cook food from the local farm shops and markets. Local shop is also very well stocked. Totally recommend this cottage.

This is a lovely, rural property in a peaceful location. The owners live in the farmhouse next door so are on site if you need them. There is a wood burner if you need it and a useful area for drying off wet boots etc. There are three paddocks available for you to use with your dogs (they are not secure so if you’ve got naughty runaway dogs bring a long line!) and the views of the surrounding countryside are gorgeous. There is a small, sheltered courtyard at the back of the house which was a sun trap. We loved our stay here and hope to return. Thank you.

Very clean and comfortable

We were very impressed with headford cottage, everything we needed was provided and the owners were lovely. We stayed over Christmas and with lights twinkling and log fire burning, it was truly magical. I can't recommend this place enough, if you're thinking of getting away at any time of the year, the cottage is just perfect. We would definitely look to stay here again, we didn't want to leave! ??

This is a lovely, easy holiday cottage ensuring an immediately relaxing break. We enjoyed the paddocks to start the day with the dog before exploring the locality. The Quantocks didn't disappoint..easy, open access to miles of fabulous walking in the most gorgeous scenery..all just a very short drive from the cottage. Also some lovely walks and views available directly from the cottage so no need to take the car every day. Charming, helpful owner on site but not at all intrusive. We had a super break. Highly recommended.

We had a very restful, peaceful and enjoyable stay.

Emily the owner was very welcoming and extremely helpful; nothing was too much trouble for her. The cottage itself was beautiful, as were the surroundings. I think that I can honestly say that both we and our two dogs, thought they had found a little piece of heaven! We’ll definitely stay here again!

The cottage is absolutely perfect, and the orchard and paddock are dog paradise. The location is stunning and very tranquil but within easy driving distance of most places of interest in the area. The owners were fabulous and couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. Would certainly recommend.

This Cottage is a little gem, from walking through the door to leaving it was a pleasure to be there, it's a credit to the owners.Try this cottage and you won't be disappointed.

An excellent stay. The layout of the property is very very good. All top class amenities. As mentioned, the hosts were very friendly and helpful, but otherwise not knowing Richard and Emily were there. Their little dog “Olive” helps to complete the enjoyment!!!

This cottage is spacious and very comfortable and in a lovely setting in the Quantock Hills with walks all around around . We had a very happy week here and would highly recommend it for a relaxing break .

We enjoyed our stay here immensely. The cottage is well situated for some wonderful local walks which we found in the book that the owners kindly left for us. Steart marshes are nearby, great for birdwatching. A visit to Glastonbury with a climb to the Tor for the view was exhilarating. Hestercombe house and gardens were both interesting and beautiful. The cottage is spacious and comfortable, well fitted out with care given to provide for us everything that we needed. The owners were friendly and welcoming. We hope to return someday.

I would certainly recommend this cottage as a base for exploring the area. It’s well positioned, well equipped and very comfortable (the bed especially). The dog loved the paddock and we loved the tranquility of the place.

Great cottage in a brilliant location for walkers. We walked from the door to Cothelstone Hill/Fyne Court and Hawkridge Reservoir (worth doing the Lime Kiln extension) then with just a short drive we climbed up to Will's Neck and did some Poetic walking from Nether Stowey. Fyne Court cafe is worth visit, as is the Chantry near Kilve and, of course, Hestercombe Gardens (if you know you are going book online for 10% discount). The cottage owners and friendly and helpful and we fell in love with their little dog Olive. You will too!

We had a 2 week stay from 8/7/21 - 22/7/21, the cottage was very clean, comfortable and everything was there what we needed. We would not hesitate in recommending this property.

Really lovely cottage in an elevated situation, excellent for a walking holiday in the Quantock Hills and North Jurassic coast. Spacious and well equipped, with perfect areas outside for relaxing in the sun or barbecuing. Very rural but not isolated, as the owner’s beautiful farmhouse is next door but the actual farm is some distance away, so no animals close by. Thoroughly recommended.

This was yet again another excellent Classic Cottages treat! In a delightful part of the country that is so close to home, but we had never visited before. We will definitely visit again and can’t wait to stay in this gorgeous cottage again. The cottage had everything we needed, plus extras for our dog, including the orchard and paddocks to exercise her in. We all had an extremely needed and enjoyable week. It was not long enough!!

Ideally situated in an AONB, with National Trust properties nearby. Fyne Court is great for dog walking with excellent tea and cakes, and free to enter apart from Car Parking. Hestercombe House and Gardens well worth a visit. Everything in the area seems dog friendly and welcoming

A very comfortable cottage for a couple & a dog in a beautiful location. Plenty of walks nearby & a good base from which to explore the Quantocks. The bed & sofa are both extremely comfortable & we really enjoyed being in the cottage as well as being out & about.

We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage, which exceeded our expectations in terms of the quality of accommodation. Whilst spacious it was also cosy. Beautifully clean and well equipped, from the time we arrived it felt like a real home from home. Emily was a friendly face if we needed help but the cottage did feel quite private. The weather wasn’t great during our stay but the Quantocks are lovely and we also ventured over to Exmoor and the Somerset Levels. As others have said, the narrow lanes are not for nervous drivers but we got used to them.

Headford farm cottage is a real gem, perfectly located to visit the local area which for us was included our new granddaughter! The hosts were very friendly but not intrusive. Thank you for a lovely week and we would definitely recommend...

Headford Farm Cottage is an absolutely beautiful place to stay and the perfect base for exploring the Quantock Hills. We loved the peace and quiet, waking up to the sound of birdsong, lambs and cows. The cottage is extremely comfortable and spacious for two people - we were very sorry to leave and would love to return one day.

We really enjoyed a peaceful, comfortable and relaxed time at Headford Farm cottage.. We didn’t need to light a fire as the place was really cosy with the underfloor heating, but it added a lovely atmosphere when it was wild and windy outside. Great location in the Quantocks, a truly beautiful part of Somerset for walks with our dog. The kitchen is really well equipped for self catering and we appreciated the biscuits, tea, coffee and milk provided. Thanks!

We enjoyed a very quiet, relaxing and peaceful week at Headford Farm Cottage, together with excellent daily walks over the Quantocks.

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage and found it very comfortable, spacious, clean and well equipped. Emily was very friendly and welcoming and saved our bacon the first night as we had forgotten the dog biscuits! The orchard and paddock were very much enjoyed by our dog. Unfortunately the weather was rather wet but we still managed to get out and about. The scenery nearby is beautiful. Hopefully next time we are in the area we will manage some of the lovely walks nearby. The local pubs were both closed but we had a fantastic Sunday lunch at the Babbling Brook which was only a short drive away. We can also recommend Watchet (a lovely little seaside town) and Taunton.

Lovely, comfortable and clean cottage, ideally placed for sightseeing and within such a beautiful setting. Our first holiday with our active 11 month old who's not quite walking independently, but I felt happy to let him cruise around the living room area,(overseeing from the kitchen??). We loved chilling in the orchard which is so picturesque. The back patio area faces the owner's driveway but it is nicely enclosed and sheltered by planters. The family are so friendly and willing to help, their proximity was useful when we needed some assistance. Thoroughly recommend.

An amazing cottage, the owners couldn’t be any nicer. The cottage is absolutely lovely. It feels modern without losing any of the classic characteristics of the traditional English cottage. Peaceful, lovely views I couldn’t fault the cottage or location.

The cottage is beautiful and fantastically equipped with everything needed for a very relaxing stay. We took the dogs which was a first for us, plenty of walks to keep them happy. We’re country people so the location suited us perfectly. Totally lived up to our expectations.

Ideal base if you want to do lots of walking. Very dog friendly.

Richard and Emily were excellent hosts, discreet but always on hand. The cottage has excellent facilities, very comfortable, also very quiet and relaxing. You can’t ask for a prettier setting as the cottage is in the heart of the Quantocks.. To be able to use the paddocks is a massive bonus for our dogs. Clothestone Hill, part of an Area of Outstandin Beauty, is perfect for off lead dogs and also part of a walking trail offering excellent view from the Quantocks, is only a 5 min drive away. The unusual beach Klive is about 20 min away. The hop-on-and-off West Somerset Steam Train takes you to all the interesting places along the coast. The beautiful Gasntonbury again is about 40 min drive away as is the Clerks Village for shopping. And Bridgwater has an M & S Food Hall for all your food shopping. So much to do... we’ll be back! We had a lovely stay at Headford Farm Cottage with our two labradoodle dogs. Luckily for us the weather was great which allowed us to explore the local area well. The cottage itself was great for our needs, enclosed area for the dogs outside the back door but an orchard and meadow which we could us just a few feet away. Despite being next to the owners farmhouse it was lovely and peaceful and we only actually saw them once when we arrived. The cottage was very well equipped, the owners had thought of everything we might need right down to dog bowls, towels and treats. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen had all sorts of useful things to use and there was also all the necessary diswasher tablets, washing up liquid, kitchen foil etc which saved the hassle of packing so much stuff. Fresh milk, tea, coffee and homemade cake were very welcome after a long drive to get there! It's right in the heart of the Quantoks so the lanes are very narrow and winding but it really was a lovely place to stay in the summer time. Would definitely recommend.

The cottage has been very thoughtfully planned, with a lovely private outside seating area. We were made to feel very welcome and loved the Victoria sandwich cake!

We had a wonderful 5 night stay with our dog in a lovely comfortable, well equipped, dog friendly cottage with the added surprise of a beautifully baked victoria sponge to welcome us! A peaceful location and a great position to explore both the Quantocks and the coastline with a nice walk from the cottage to Hawkridge Reservoir. Lots of pubs within an easy drive and many of them dog friendly (apart from the Travellers Rest). We received a warm welcome from our host, Emily, who made us feel very much at home.

What a lovely place to stay if you want pure tranquility. The hosts are lovely and the welcoming sponge was delicious. Great walks from the cottage for dogs and there is plenty to do in this part of North Somerset. I am certain that we shall be back.

For a very quiet, restful, relaxing and enjoyable holiday Headford Farm Cottage is an excellent choice. With its beautifully maintained country garden, orchard and neatly mown paddock walkways along which to walk your dog whilst takeing in the breathtaking countryside views.

This cottage was first class in every respect. It was well equiped and clearly the owners had put alot of thought into what equipment to supply. It was ideal for the two of us and our elderly dog, she appeared to really enjoy the three paddocks and trying unsucessfuly to chase the rabbits. Mobile signal was not the best but we found the wifi pretty good and when we turned on WiFi calling we had no problem staying in touch with friends and family. The delicious cake and dog treats left by the owners were a really nice touch. Overall really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the cottage.

We had a lovely post-Christmas stay at Headford Farm cottage. It is a beautiful cottage and is fabulously equipped with everything you might need! Wonderful mince pies on arrival. Will definitely be returning!

This cottage was better than we had expected. It offered spacious accommodation, it was very clean and well presented. The only thing missing was a pen to write in the visitors book, which I was sad about as we really enjoyed our stay there and the owner knows or knows someone who can made a delicious Victoria Sandwich Cake. Even the dog was left some treats. Unfortunately some of the roads in the area were closed at the time we were there and the SAT Nav would take you everywhere, but we always managed to find our way back. The roads in the area are very narrow and the hedges very high so when you are not sure where you are there are no landmarks to look for and heaven help you if you meet another vehicle coming in the opposite direction. But all in all a beautiful area, a wonderful cottage and a very pleasant holiday. Please pass on my thanks to the owner of the property.

We stayed at Headford Fatm Cottage for a last minute weekend break. The cottage is finished to a very high standard and the furnishings and wood burner were divine on a cold and windy November night. We were made to feel very welcome by Emily and wanted for nothing. The home made Victoria Sponge and doggy treats were a lovely touch. Thank you very much.

Very comfortable, contemporary little barn. We had a delicious sponge cake on our arrival! The setting is a lovely and peaceful retreat. A pub is within walking distance along a quiet country lane. Will definitely return!

This cottage is exceptionally cosy and welcoming with an extremely well equipped kitchen. A real pleasure to come home to after a long days walk. The cake that was waiting for us was an unexpected treat and the other little touches like milk in the fridge and a generous supply of coffee and teabags was really lovely.

We loved our stay in Headford Farm cottage. The cottage was beautiful and very comfortable- we loved the log burner and the swishy sofas after a walk. The owners had thought of everything we might need, and even brought us a brand new high chair for the baby. We loved our stay and would love to come back!

Efficient and pleasant service. Probably the best cottage I've ever stayed in, every last detail had been thought of, down to the dog towels! The owners were friendly and there if you needed them without being intrusive. I can't fault the cottage or service provided.

The Owners were very helpful and friendly and anything extra that we might need to please let them know, however, the property had everything that you would need. Our two dogs even had welcome treats as did we. This holiday was perfect for us and our two dogs and we hope to return soon. The interior of the cottage is very stylish and comfortable with everything catered for.

This cottage delivered exactly what it said. It is perfect for a couple with a dog - beautifully appointed, furnished and equipped and the owners could not have been more friendly and accommodating. A lot of attention to detail here - we would heartily recommend it.

The owners were lovely as were their children (very quiet and respectful). They were very accommodating and we felt more than welcome with the freshly baked cake and hot buns mid-week. The property was very clean, well equipped and nicely laid out with fresh crisp linen. The position and access was good for newbies to the area to explore and discover. Good parking right outside the property and a lovely sunny courtyard at the rear providing table and chairs. The free logs for the wood burner was a bonus. We had a lovely restful break and hope to return.
