Frogwell Cottage
Under the spectacle of Exmoor National Park International Dark Sky Reserve, picture yourself on holiday with a glass of bubbly in hand, surrounded by nothing but fields and countryside. If this sounds like it would appeal to you, then look no further than Frogwell Cottage. Situated less than two miles from the peaceful village of Skilgate, this 19th Century cottage is a rural retreat.
This cottage offers plenty of room for all the family (including your four-legged friends), with the ground floor comprising a spacious kitchen, separate dining-room and cosy sitting-room. On those chillier nights, light up the wood-burner and enjoy evenings together watching the flames flicker.
Upstairs there are three delightful bedrooms; peaceful spaces in which to rest your head after a day of adventures. Each room has uninterrupted views over the garden or countryside and with nothing to disturb you but the sound of wildlife, you are sure to have the best sleep. The family bathroom completes the accommodation and there are even countryside views from the bath - bliss.
As well as a large patio area to the front, there is a sweet spot behind the cottage which is a perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee in the sunshine or an al fresco supper, courtesy of the fire-pit style barbecue. Dogs and children alike will delight in exploring the large garden area that has been fully fenced. Guests and dogs on leads are welcome to walk the owners' surrounding farm fields and woodland.

Mr McGuinness
This house is in a very quiet rural location which we used as a base to drive out to lots of beautiful sites on Exmoor. The house had all the essential kitchen equipment which seemed new including a very good dishwasher and washing machine, enough plates and pans etc for us 5 and more. The whole place was very clean and comfortable, we especially enjoyed the log burner which made it very cosy. There was plenty of room for us to stay very comfortably, I would definitely return to this house, we had such a lovely week there.
Mrs Adams
Ideal location to explore Exmoor. Ideal for dogs with a large enclosed garden and walks on the owners land. House was spotless and well equipped. Beds so comfortable and Housekeeper and owner very helpful Planning to go back soon Dulverton close by with a good Coop
Mr Hickman
2 weeks at the cottage with my dog. Great location as near to both Exmoor and the north coast. Very dog friendly with a reasonable sized fenced area and Haddon Hill and the reservoir only 1 mile away. We used this a lot for extra walks and the 10 mile one around the water! The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped and I can imagine it would be very cosy in winter. Good sized bath and lots of hot water. Dulverton is just 4 miles away and a nice market town with butcher, baker, fruit & veg and deli, as well as a Co-op. Again a good 3.5 mile walk around outside of town followed by a good pub meal at The Bridge Inn by the river.
Mrs Ryan
What a beautiful cottage. Extremely comfortable, clean and very well equipped. Ideal location for exploring the moors. The neighbours were sheep, pheasants, rabbits and cows, bliss. Wimbleball Lake is not far by car and we enjoyed a couple of walks there too. Dulverton Village is beautiful with a few eateries, independent shops and has a large Co-op for provisions. We will definitely be back for the peace and quiet and beautiful walks.
Mrs Beckingsale
We really enjoyed this cottage. It provided us with everything we needed for cooking and relaxing by the fire. The bed was very comfortable and the cottage was lovely and quiet. It’s position for exploring Devon was perfect. We managed in a week to explore to the far reaches east, west, south and north but also locally on the moors. Nothing was too far for a days adventure. We would love to return.
Mr Martin

Mrs Miller
This was our second visit and we had a lovely time visiting the local area which is just stunning. It is a great location for taking a dog on holiday. The cottage is cosy, well-equipped and very clean.
Mrs Townsend
Frogwell is immaculately presented inside and for a family of 5 it was very comfortable. Great location and the teenagers made good use of Wimbleball lake facilities. Easy drive to Tarr Steps, Dulverton and Withypool. Fantastic walks nearby especially Haddon hill. We had a slight issue with Dishwasher and this was sorted very quickly by the lovely owners.
Mrs Saunders
We really enjoyed staying in this cottage. The furnishings are of a high quality, the beds are comfortable and everything is very clean and well-maintained. It's in a very rural location in a small wooded valley, but close to Haddon Hill which has lovely views over Wimbleball Lake, and lots of lovely walks. Minehead is about 40 minutes drive away and Bampton about 15 minutes. Altogether a good place for a quiet peaceful holiday.
Ms FRANKLAND
The cottage is lovely.A cosy atmosphere with high spec decor and gentle furnishings which are in sympathy with cottage's character. No gimmicks -lovely. Views of countryside from each window. Pure quiet except for owls. We appreciated the provided Christmas tree and other low key decorations. In all a perfect place for Christmas. Thankyou,
Mr Whitehead
Everything about the cottage was fab - very clean, immaculately furnished and decorated. Dogs loved the walks. I have already recommended it to my friends. Thank you.
Ms Frealand
A really lovely, cosy place to stay as a family. Very spacicious and lovely to be in the middle of fields and sheep!
Mrs Miller
A wonderful cottage in a very quiet rural setting which exceeded all expectations. The cottage itself is beautifully appointed, clean as a whistle and everything is thought of, including arrangements of wild flowers. We arranged an Ocado delivery for the first morning which was very easy. Our teenagers enjoyed three days of watersports on Wimbleball Lake and we also visited Dunster Castle, Kilve Beach (great fossilling) and Tarr Steps. Dulverton is very close and has all the amenities. We particularly enjoyed the drive through Bury Ford to get there. We intend to book again for next summer and would highly recommend the cottage.
Mr Mills
Well furnished, very comfortable, our animals loved it too. But no phone service for us (don't know if this is a bad thing or not)
Mr Wells

Mr Tsang
The owner has been very, very helpful when we had a question about something.
