Darjeeling Lodge
If you're looking for a peaceful or romantic break in the heart of the Sussex countryside, then this is the place for you! Situated in Beckley, near the village of Broak Oak, Darjeeling Lodge makes a great base for visiting Rye, Battle and the golden beach of Camber Sands.
Perfect for couples or friends, you will find a beautifully presented living space with a fully equipped kitchen, fit for any budding chef and space where everyone can socialise together. After dinner, relax with your favourite tipple, play cards, or cosy up on the sofa and chairs whilst watching a movie on the Smart TV.
Sliding doors open onto the patio and garden area and out towards the paddocks where the owner's horses can sometimes be seen grazing.
At either end of the lodge, there are two beautifully presented king-size double bedrooms, both very similar in style and having en suite shower-rooms.
Wake up refreshed and head outside onto the private patio-area with a coffee in hand whilst enjoying the sounds of mother nature. You may be lucky to spot deer, rabbits, foxes, birds or a family of badgers that frequently visit.
The owners who live nearby are on hand should you need anything. They also have a friendly dog Pixie, who may pop along to say hello.
One well-behaved dog is welcome, and you will find many walks for your pooch nearby. Head down the drive and along the lane and straight into Beckley Woods, a 145 hectare mixed woodland plantation.
Nearby to Darjeeling Lodge is The Little Lodge (5599) which sleeps two and can be booked together if you require additional accommodation for family and friends.

Mr Hope
Great place for a relaxing break.
Mrs Hodgkinson
This lodge is a hidden gem in wonderful countryside with friendly owners who couldn’t have been more helpful throughout our stay. Perfectly situated for exploring places like Rye, Battle, Dungeness and Camber Sands as well as an easy drive to Brighton, it offers complete relaxation as well as peace and quiet on your return after a busy day sight seeing. The most modern of builds with all the facilities you will need and cleanliness to match. Well worth a stay. We will be back.
Mrs Rodger
The cottage was beautifully decorated and furnished but the real joy was watching the wildlife. The owners horses were very friendly, there were so many varieties of birds and in the evenings we were able to sit and watch foxes visiting the property. If you have a dog then Camber Sands, Winchelsea Beach and Hastings country park are great places to visit with them.
Miss Tellick
The cottage is lovely and owner very helpful. It is warm and comfortable, a wonderful quiet place to stay and very dog friendly (although not possible to let the dog off the lead as there are horses on the property and no secure fenced area around the cottage. The surrounding area is interesting and lots of places to visit - Rye, Kipling's House Batemans, Camber Sands, Battle etc. I would happily go back.
Mrs Norman

Mr Youngs
Great little lodge in very quite rural location with woodland walks from the doorstep. Well situated for a number of attractions, especially several castles and gardens, Rye and the coast. Owner most welcoming and helpful.
Mrs Bell
Darjeeling Lodge is a cosy, comfortable base to explore this beautiful and historic area. The lodge is spotlessly clean, well appointed and Hazel was on hand to answer any queries. We especially enjoyed the horses in the neighbouring field and our evening visit from a gorgeous fox. Highly recommended!
