Springwater Cottage
Springwater Cottage is a wonderful retreat located just outside of the beautiful Combe Martin cove in glorious north Devon. This fabulous cottage brilliantly combines cosy period features with modern luxuries to ensure a relaxing and comfortable stay for all - that includes the family dog!
As you approach Springwater through the gorgeous tropical gardens that wrap around the house creating an enclosed garden and driveway, you'll notice the exterior of the cottage has a fabulous modern sheen to it thanks to the contemporary conservatory. However, this charming getaway still manages to retain a lot of the character of its original structure through its fantastic interiors. Enter through the conservatory to the front door, passing the downstairs cloakroom with WC and down a couple of steps and you will arrive in the sitting-room. Inviting sofas surround a rustic, exposed stone inglenook fireplace which houses the charming wood-burner; perfect for keeping you nice and toasty in the winter months. Crisp, natural light filters through the period, double aspect windows while a Smart TV can be found tucked in the corner of the room, providing plenty of entertainment in the evenings as the fire crackles in the background.
You'll find the light and airy kitchen/diner a step up from the sitting-room. A modern kitchen sits to one side of the room, full of appliances that make cooking family meals easy - there's even an ice cream machine should the weather call for it! The size of the space makes it perfect for sociable family evenings whilst the wooden dining-table is ideal for late lunches and warming dinners. In the morning, slide open the patio doors and enjoy your cup of coffee with the fresh Devon air and morning sun on your face, and the luxury of under-floor heating warming your toes during the winter months. If it's a sunny day, grab a book and wander out to the beautifully to the designed conservatory which has brilliant views of the lush gardens surrounding the cottage.
Venture up the wooden staircase in the sitting-room and discover the two delightful bedrooms built into the eaves of the house with sloping ceilings. Step up into bedroom one where you will find a luxurious king-size bed sitting in the centre of the room, which is wonderfully furnished with antique furniture and calming tones. Next door you'll find a twin room that is perfect for little ones or adults being 3' beds. A homely family bathroom makes up the first floor, complete with an inviting bathtub (taller guests should note the ceiling is sloping), providing the ideal spot to relax after a long day on the beach or a walk along the coast paths of north Devon.
Outside there are plenty of places to soak up the Devonshire sunshine. There is lush greenery everywhere you look with tropical plants and beautiful foliage dotted around the enclosed garden however if your dog is determined, an escape plan could be hatched. The raised wooden deck comes complete with a barbecue and fabulous outdoor furniture which make al fresco dining a dream. There is even a covered area on the deck if you fancy some fresh air should the weather start to turn. There is ample parking for two cars outside the cottage on the enclosed driveway.
You even have a handy storage shed for any outdoor equipment situated on the driveway. The owner has thought of everything!

Mr Allen
A lovely cottage, in a peaceful location. It was decorated and fitted out really nicely, and felt very homely. Beautiful garden, nice big deck for eating outside, which we used every day. All in all, a great stay
Mrs O'Grady
Lovely cottage; comfortable, clean, and the kitchen was very well equipped. Only down side was it's remoteness and bumpy lane to the cottage. However, on our last day some of the pot holes were being filled in.
Mr Robroek
Nice well equipped cottage. Very comfortable and clean. If you plan walks from the cottage this place is less ideal as it is at the end of a 'cul de sac' with no public footpaths. If you do not mind a drive every time, the place is great. The kitchen is fabulous; spacious and very well equipped. The deck at the back of cottage makes for a great breakfast, lunch or dinner in the sun. As it is partly roofed, even a few drops cannot kill the pleasure of sitting outside. If you bring a dog, please be aware that the garden is not escape proof.
Mr Buttree
A lovely cottage in a beautiful tranquil location. Just a short distance to North Devon’s picturesque coast line.
Mr Velev
A beautiful property that's full of home comforts, equipment and character. The whole process of checking in and out is seamless and the extra towels and bedding left by the host are a lovely touch. All in all I would recommend this to anybody and everybody - thank you so much for having us.
Mrs cutts
Lovely property with everything you could possible need. Very spacious for a two bedroom. We visited in winter but would love to go back in summer to make most of lovely deck
Mrs Stevenson
The property was generally very good, except for the gardens which were described as "gorgeous" and "lush" but in reality were heavily overgrown and weed infested when we stayed. [Sept 2023] The bathroom ceiling sloped steeply where the shower is and at 5'8" my head touched the ceiling, so it was impossible to physically stand upright underneath the shower outlet. The property is in a lovely position at the end of a cul-de-sac and is nice and quiet, but to get there the private approach lane to the property from the main road is about quarter of a mile long, unmaintained and has deep potholes. Be careful if you have a low car. The kitchen is extremely well equipped. The cupboards were full of every imaginable gadget and appliance. However, this left no available space to store food.
Mrs O'Donoghue
This was a wonderful cottage to stay with a dog ,plenty of garden all around the property and large kitchen that lead onto the decking area .Well stocked kitchen cupboards with a huge fridge . Just on the fringe of Combe Martin with a small collection of houses nearby .Easy to drive into for shops, everything you need .
MRS SELBY
ITS LOVELY SPOT TO STAY SO VERY CLEAN & PEASEFULL
Mr Deacon
A lovely cottage - warm & cosy for a very wet November week, but very spacious and a great secure garden for a dog to enjoy. Imagine that it would also be gorgeous for a summer stay as the decked balconies are lovely. Superb double bed - massive and very comfy! Heartily recommend.
