Great place and a brilliant location.

Great for a rural break but note that garden is unfenced and children’s play kit needs fixing. Oh, that access road!

The farmhouse was spacious and welcoming, with a wonderfully cozy feel. The kitchen was extremely well-equipped, and we espeically loved the traditional Dolly airer over the fire, it added such charm. The games room was a big hit with everyone, and although it was muddy during our stay, there were plenty of rubber boots available, including a pair for fit my sons size 12 feet. We're already looking forward to our next visit!

What an amazing place for a family holiday would definitely stay there again.

The property is a lovely well equipped and comfortable house set in a forestry area. For winters and cold rainy days there are wood burning stoves well supplied with wood as well as central heating to cheer people up. Given the property's location the broadband speed is as to be expected at around 2mbps, but it does work. It's a holiday property so don't expect business broadband speed. Access to the property from the road is via in part by a poorly maintained and potholed hardcore track then leading a well connected roadway. Take great care on the hardcore track.

Great place for a large family to stay and a good base for places to visit. Peace and quiet are plentiful for forest walks and no light pollution for a great star gazing experience.

Fabulous location, lovely farm house with open plan kitchen, diner downstairs. House is well stocked and there is plenty of room, the children in our party loved playing and exploring. A little rough around the edges but the house made a great base for our family getaway.

Beautiful property in secluded and very special, forest location. Very homely and well-equipped. Very large comfortable beds. Great for families and large groups. Would highly recommend.

We had a fantastic stay, very roomy for 5 adults, 5 children and 4 dogs. The dining room table was perfect for playing board games with all the family. Enjoyed the house, a great sized kitchen area, it felt home from home and we had fun using the games room and exploring the estate. The owner was helpful and put up a temporary fence in the garden for our dogs. The utility room and facilities were a great help and the stay felt very dog friendly.

A beautiful house and setting on the farm. Great for families and kids and Sam the owner was very helpful with any questions that we had. It had all of the facilities and more that we were expecting and the house was very clean. There was plenty of room for us all (10 adults and a baby) both inside and out. The beds were very comfy and smelt lovely! The drive down to the house is quite bumpy but that’s all part of the experience! Would definitely book again.

We (gran, two mums, a dad, four teenage kids and two dogs) absolutely loved our stay here in this house which is spacious but cosy at the same time. It was so relaxing, and peaceful. Even my son who normally has to be surgically removed from his phone went out every night (voluntarily) to look at the stars in the non-light polluted sky, and listen to the hooting of the local owls. The big family area really was fantastic. Nearly everyone was offering to make tea or coffee/wash up/help with cooking as you didn't have to leave rest of gang to go to a separate kitchen or dining room. There was so much space in this area you could cook, watch TV, play games/do crafts on the huge table and even spread out a yoga mat if you wanted to - all at the same time. There is so much storage room you really could stock up the freezer and fridge for a week and never leave the house. I did take the kids to Barnstaple one day, which was a lovely scenic drive and the local village of Shebbear is well worth a visit. If you are looking for a holiday to really get away from it all - this is the place.

Lovely place. Very tranquil with super views The wildlife around the house and in the forest was an absolute delight The swifts were spectacular indeed.

This is an ideal place to get away from it all. We loved watching the owl hunting in the evening and the swallows nests in the eaves. The games room, wellies, trampoline and swing were great for youngsters. The house was ideal for our 4 household, 3 generation get together.

We had a fantastic time at Grascott House. We were a party of 5 adults, 3 kids (14, 11 & 2) and an 8 month old and it was the perfect space for us. The kitchen/diner/lounge is a great sociable space and the house felt really big with plenty of room for all of us and all our stuff. Beds were really comfy and it was so clean. We were worried about only one bathroom between so many of us but it wasn’t a problem at all as there are 2 other loos. It is really remote, but found the track to be fine and it was lovely that our toddler could just freely run around without the worry of traffic. And we spotted the barn owl every night. It’s a beautiful spot and amazing it is all of grid with solar panels, calor gas, log fires for the winter etc. The owner was so welcoming and friendly and we’d definitely recommend this place to others. One of our highlights was a walk on the tarka trail, with lunch at Yarde cafe which was recommended in the info book. We also went to Bude and Westward Ho! which weren’t too far away.

Good place to go with big family group. Not fussy, friendly owner Sam on hand if anything needed. Able to take dogs and walk around his land. Kids play area popular too. Take bikes as Tarka Trail nearby and RHS Rosemoor well worth a visit. We had a good time. Northcott Beach a triumph!

A tired old property lacking attention to detail and in need of some investment.

We loved this house! Literally the only tool missing from the kitchen was a pastry brush, they had everything else you could ever want/need. It's the only self catering property any of us have been to and not needed to take any kitchen bits with us! The house is a beautiful old farm house and has so many stunning features. The grounds are amazing, we had so much fun exploring them! The kids loved running over to the park and being able to play. We would give the cottage a 10 out of 10 as it is in a lovely spot, in beautiful grounds and so quiet. None of us wanted to leave!

It’s a lovely old farm house, but has been sensitively updated to make it modern

Had a fantastic family holiday in this large, comfortable and beautifully situated farmhouse. The dogs loved exploring the estate as did the kids. Close to lots of lovely beaches and towns and villages yet remote enough to be very peaceful.

We had a really lovely short break here, on our way to Cornwall, but all wished we were staying on at Grascott House. A truly relaxing few days.

Its a beautiful home, we felt comfortable immediately. The lovely large hall was perfect for the dogs, their beds and all their toys and still had room to move around. It was so lovely to find somewhere where they had a quality bed, mattress, pillows and bedding too - slept like a log.

Beautiful spacious cottage and very comfortable ideal for the family

We loved our stay at Grasscott and did not want to leave! It was so peaceful and the owner was friendly and very helpful. The garden is not fenced but as we have 2 dogs they very kindly put up a temporary fence for us. The walks around the forest are lovely and safe for dogs to run free. As we stayed during Covid 19 the safety of guests had been well thought out with clear instructions and advice for use of the house during our stay. Thank you for a lovely holiday !

Nice large old farmhouse in very rural location. Nice walking but be prepared to explore and use initiative as some paths hard to find. Lots Farmhouse a little more rustic than photos show however nice property for large gatherings.

We loved the homely, warm and welcoming atmosphere of the house, the fireplaces and the enormous bath tubs! The beds were lovely and comfy the selection of games, books and DVDs were very much enjoyed by the children and the lovely outside space was perfect too! The children made excellent use of the trampoline and there was so much to explore right from the front door! It is simply lovely!! This really is a lovely family home from home to relax in and enjoy in total peace and tranquility!

A great location if you want to get away from it all.

This house is excellent for families very well thought out & everything you need. The decor is possibly a little tired/lived in but this makes for a more relaxed stay. The kids loved all the space, tree house trampoline etc. very welcoming & friendly any problems very speedily resolved. House was warm & comfortable. Firewood provided & woodturner worked very well often a holiday cottage rarity .

Our three families all enjoyed our stay, and esp. the Dog!

A lovely welcoming property with amazing land to explore, kids young and old will have some great adventures even without having to go anywhere else. Great for a big crowd of people.

A good sized house for family or group holidays, just needs a little tender care spent on it.

Beautiful house, lovely owner and gorgeous surroundings.

One of the benifits of the place and was not highlighted enough is that it is a wonderful and safe place for kids to explore. With tree houses, secret lakes, and lots of wildlife to spot. Also the owner has made the place very environmentally friendly with a wood chip boiler to fire the central heating. And a beautiful kitchen made with beech wood from the estate.

An excellent property for a large family group. House warm and cosy with plenty of space to relax.

We have had an excellent family holiday in this very comfortable and spacious house.

Lovely spacious farm house, excellent for families and friends to get together. Only left for a pub Sunday lunch, just a pleasure to relax and enjoy the house and surroundings.

Grascott House functioned well. The owner was friendly - and helpful when needed. Comfotable and warm and with ample space for everyone even though we were a party of nine. The mile long access road that you recommended is uneven and makes for a bumpy ride - but is the only worthwhile Road in. You warn against using a satnav - and rightly so - perhaps you should stress that the alternative route in to which a satnav invariably directs one towards is well nigh impassable for ordinary family cars - and probably even more so when raining heavily.

It's a perfect setting for large family groups, especially with dogs, looking to enjoy beautiful isolated Devonshire countryside.

Grasscott House is a great location for large parties to get away from from everyday life. the house offered so much comfortable space and the 200 acres of forest offered incredible walks to enjoy

Ideal situation for a family party with young children. Plenty to see and do on the estate and the local environs. If you want a peaceful, natural setting for a tranquil time then Grascott Farm is an excellent destination.

Lane leading to Cottage is very bad, need a 4 wheel drive, reception for Internet is bad no reception for mobiles and no phone in cottage, no curtains downstairs overall th Cottage is lovely

Beautiful property in beautiful surroundings. High standard of furnishings with enough space for a big family. Log burners are a winner!

A cosy, warm, friendly & lived in house. It made us want to stay in and appreciate the tranquility and atmosphere of this, we had a lovely restful break!

Grasscott House is wonderful house to get away from it all, and relax, especially as an autumn break where part of the attraction was to sit before a log stove and get out of the wind and rain.
