Hayley's Hut

This was our fourth visit to Hayley’s hut and we’ve already booked our fifth. It’s our favourite place in the world, so peaceful, beautiful view, literally everything you need for a cosy secluded retreat. We love it.

What a magical place we had the most amazing time only regret we didn’t book longer !! We will be back next year and e can’t wait already thank you for some amazing memories

Absolutely loved our stay at Hayley’s hut. Perfect for rest and relaxation in a beautiful & tranquil location. Thoughtful touches inside and much appreciated, especially the cream tea. Weather was mostly sunny but had one very wet day. However it was great to chill and read Kindles. A perfect chance to switch off and slow down. Certainly recommend for anyone who loves country living and the outdoors. Taking the boat out on the lake was fun and relaxing in the hot tub just heavenly. Would certainly love to come back ??

Hayley’s Hut was beyond our expectations, the welcome book had everything in it we needed to know, very detailed. The hot tub was fantastic and Hayley’s correspondence with us was great and she was available if we needed anything, The unexpected little extras we kept finding , made our stay even more memorable.

We had a very relaxing stay at Hayley's Hut. Unfortunately, it was the week of Storm Kathleen, so we didn't get the best weather, but the hut was comfortable and we had the outdoor kitchen to use and keep the wind and rain out! We will definitely be returning - especially to use the hot tub!

Beautiful place to stay and exactly as described and photographed. A peaceful retreat with a cool surprise of driving through the cows on the farm to access it. It was a privilege to be able to access and enjoy this place, even in the rain it was brilliant. The hot tub is electric and is perfect for evening star gazing and super peaceful. Loved hearing all the birds and using the boat on the lake. Highly recommend if you like stepping away from pressures of normal life and technology.

Fantastic hut in a stunning location, so peaceful and calm. The hut was beautifully presented and along with the outdoor space was everything you could possibly want in a glamping experience. We even braved the rowing boat! Hosts were very friendly and there’s plenty to see and do in the local area.

Really lovely stay away, the place had everything you could want for a relaxing trip. Very likely to book again in the future!

Hayley’s Hut is just perfect. The pictures are accurate but the reality is even better! If you’re looking for peace & quiet with absolute privacy then you must book. Hayley & Tom are lovely hosts. Watching a calf being born was beautiful. An abundance of wildlife, dark skies and the lakeside location make it idyllic and you won’t want to leave!!

We loved it here, weather was great and we spent most of the day outside, the evenings were spent relaxing in the camp kitchen. The hut was gorgeous and felt as though you were literally in the middle of nowhere, will be back in September hopefully.

A truly magical gem! We maybe only 45 Mins up the road but you could be a million miles away! On arriving you immediately feel relaxed in this beautiful tranquil spot ?? So much love and thought gone into every detail – heart We spent all our time relaxing, I even found myself reading about ‘cows' ha ha from the book shelf selection, a good read! Breakfast overlooking the lake, croissants cooked in the Aga what a dream ?? We loved spending time in the Cook House, reading, talking and cooking on the Aga. Hubby did a spot of paddle boarding on the lake and Duke had to join in ha ha. Dreamy days finished off in the hot tub. A short break to recharge our batteries, ‘we’ll be back ‘to catch the stargaze next time. Thank you so much Hayley for our lovely stay and the cream tea was yummy. Well what can we say about this little place…. It’s heaven. The hut is so cute & the cookhouse is a great addition, gives you that extra space to cook & keep warm during your evening meal. A place a total relaxation & that’s exactly what we done on our 3rd stay. Went out on the lake everyday & loved the hot tub in the evening watching the bats swoop down around us. Fire pit great to light in the evenings watching the stars, sipping on rum. We’ll be back.

Absolute haven!! So peaceful and tranquil. If you need to switch off and totally get away from the world and people then this is the place to do it!! Cannot praise hayley's Hut highly enough in every aspect just a wonderful getaway where everything has been thought of.

We absolutely loved our stay at Hayley's hut! We have stayed at many huts before and this exceeded all expectations! Everything was perfect and every detail had been thought of! The hut was spotless and Hayley and her son were so helpful, nothing was too much trouble! Loved seeing the cows everyday, and the calf's were really cute! We had so much fun on the boat and enjoyed stargazing in the hot tub. We managed to keep the outside oven alight for 24hrs too, which we were very impressed about! Our puppy, Lady had the best time too! So many thoughtful touches to make dogs feel welcome too! We 100% plan to come back, this was the most perfect stay!

Felt at home the moment i arrived. If peace and quiet is what you want then this is the place to be. Sitting in the hot tub looking up the lake with just the sound of the water from the lakes overflow and the birds singing is bliss. Plenty of walking only short drives away, pity there are no long walks straight from site, if you can drag yourself away! Definitely going back, even the heavy rain and buffeting from high winds hasn't put me off! Caught plenty of roach and perch, perhaps try for the tench in warmer weather. Can't recommend Hayleys Hut highly enough.

A little slice of paradise! We were absolutely thrilled with Hayleys Hut and had the bestest time. We fell in love with the place and did not want to leave. The host was lovely and made it clear that she was on the end of the phone should we need anything. We spent most of our time out on the fishing lake, we were chuffed to bits with the little rowing boat! Hayleys Hut is absolutely idyllic and we cant wait to visit again. If you are looking for peaceful getaway, a romantic weekend or fun in the beautiful North Devon countryside, then you will not be disappointed.

We had the perfect stay at Hayley's hut and the hosts have truly thought of everything to make this a relaxing place to stay.

If you want a place to relax away from it all then this is the place. Total peace and quiet and a spot of fishing as well, actually caught a mirror carp of around 5lb that had probably never been caught before! This was my 2nd visit this year and already booked for a week next year. If you can drag yourself away there are some good walks a short drive away although you can't really walk from the site itself. Highly recommend this place.

Beautiful place to escape from ‘real life’ Took our dog and had a fabulous time. Would recommend but bear in mind that it is a working dairy farm so vegans please take note. Hot tub was an added bonus as was the beautiful barn owl flying backwards and forwards around us. Gorgeous.

It was the best shepherd's hut that we've stayed in the location was perfect and the surroundings were so peaceful.

Peaceful privacy is what awaits at Hayleys Hut. The way the hut is set overlooking the lake is beautiful. We sat out there most days trying to catch a big one! The outside cooking area was fabulous to while away a blustery afternoon, wrapped up warm and the Rayburn burning. One pot dinners worked a treat on the Rayburn. Had such a relaxing tranquil week away.

We LOVE Hayley’s Hut! This was our third visit and we will definitely be back. Such a peaceful location with a beautiful lake and everything you could need for a relaxing break.

Staying at Hayley’s Hut is an exceptional holiday experience. A beautifully appointed little hut with lots of homely features, including a cream tea on arrival. Thoughtful extras such as a stake to hold the dog’s lead were very welcome, dog bowls and towels too. The private lake was teeming with nature. We had daily visits from a pair of kingfishers and the squabbling moorhens were very amusing. Stargazing either from the hot tub or from bed through the glass panel was amazing. Lots to see and do in the area: we visited Ilfracombe, Saunton Sands, Croyde, Instow, Appledore and Clovelly as well as a trip further into South Devon. Or if you preferred, a restful and relaxing day just by the hut soaking up the peace and tranquility. Thank you to Hayley and Tom for a wonderful holiday - you have a very special place indeed.

Our stay at Hayleys Hut was absolutely wonderful. This really is a special retreat. Everything is just perfect with lots of nice touches. The location is so peaceful and ideal if you fancy seeing the local area, but we found it hard to leave the hut as we loved every minute of our time there.

Beautiful shepherds hut in a fantastic location! The lake is a real wow! Much bigger than we expected too! Loved watching all the wildlife, it was so peaceful and relaxing! The hot tub is a real bonus! A lovely place to relax, especially in an evening looking up at the stars! Would highly recommend! Our first experience of glamping and not sure anywhere else will live up to Hayley’s Hut!

This is the most perfect place. We absolutely love it and have already booked to return. It’s so peaceful and beautiful, and the walk around the lake is a great addition. We can’t wait to come back!

Hayley's Hut is one of the most magical places I have ever stayed in. It is in such a peaceful and private location, and even on a break there in January we were able to spend most of our time outdoors. We were in and out of the hot tub all weekend, cooked both nights in the cookhouse, and paddled our way across the lake on the rowboat! The hut itself was very cosy once we got the log burner going, and plenty of logs were supplied. A lovely cream tea was waiting for us, and even a nice selection of fruit teas etc. The bed was comfortable and the shower was great. The place was immaculate and had plenty of books and games and even local maps, though we didn't explore the area as much as we thought we were enjoying ourselves too much at the hut ??

This little shepherds hut is the most beautiful place to stay for a well earned rest. It’s so peaceful & the lake makes it extra special, we loved going for a row in the sunshine. This is the 2nd time we have stayed here & loved the new addition of the cookhouse & the new path around the lake. Hot tub is bliss & loved using it, especially in the evenings watching the bats swooping down over the lake. This place is so special & romantic & will be returning again next year.

Genuinely a superb place to stay.

Hayley’s Hut was absolutely beautiful & we loved our stay here - a bit disappointed with how the hot tub was not ready on arrival although it does say in the description that it would be so we missed out a day of using that. Other than that, everything was lovely & we enjoyed spending some time relaxing here.

Lovely and peaceful, perfect getaway

Hayleys hut exceeded our expectations, even with awful weather, the interior of the hut itself was so homely, clean and comfortable, we set up camp in there and played with the board games provided which were great fun. In the evenings we cosied ourselves up in the little cooking shack and watched the rain pour, and listened to the river roaring; we never wanted to leave- will definitely be back soon! The perfect couples getaway.

The best surprise belated 30th birthday getaway. I couldn't have chosen somewhere more perfect. I didn't want to leave! We will definitely be booking again and I have recommended here to so many people! We are going to use the decor in the hut as inspiration to our new house. Hayley has put so much thought into the location, the facilities, decoration and extras to make Hayleys Hut such a perfect staycation. It was especially nice getting into the hot tub when it was a bit chilly outside and we watched the sunset from the hot tub. The beat staycation I've ever had!

Exceeded expectations. Very clean, amazing decoration. We had such a wonderful and relaxing time. The jacuzi was amazing and to be able to row the boat on the lake was so relaxing. We were only sad that we couldn't stay longer!

If you are looking for privacy, isolation and tranquility then this is the best cottage. The whole lake and a boat is at your freedom to use and explore. Brilliant, cozy place.

We had a brilliant time staying at the hut! Although the weather worked against for us for our first couple of days, the hut had everything we needed and more.. and when the sun came out? WOW! We stayed up all night with the BBQ enjoying the sun and went for a soak in the jacuzzi late at night, it was heavenly. The location was perfect AND we had never been to this part of Devon - there are beautiful beaches, walks, pubs, restaurants and views to be seen! The hosts were fantastic and answered every question promptly as well as giving us a warm welcome. Small little touches made the trip - I won't ruin the surprise for when anyone else goes! Highly recommend.

Hayley's Hut is simply amazing - the location, the cosiness, the comfy bed with that incredible view of the lake, the cream tea on arrival and most importantly the perfectly placed Hot Tub. We could not have picked a more relaxing location and cannot wait to return.

We never wanted to leave. The most perfect mini break. All the little touches in the hut make this stay so magical. On arrival we were greeted with an amazing breakfast hamper, cream tea with home made clotted cream, a bottle of prosecco and a birthday cake and balloon for my fiance;. You can never get bored in the hut with the choice of sitting in the hot tub under the stars, playing some of the great board games in the hut, going out on the rowing boat or cooking on the fire pit bbq. Lots of lovely things to do around the area too - we walked appledore to northam burrows, visited Clovelly and walked the coastal path from Bude. We loved the privacy of the hut and that you get to drive through all the cows to get to it!! The bed was super comfy and easily fitted my 6'2" partner. We will definitely definitely be back!!!!

The hut was everything we had hoped for - cosy and relaxing. We spend the time playing board games, stargazing in the hot tub, BBQing at the fire and a short lived attempt boating on the late. It was a perfect start to 2020 and we will definitely be back!

If you want too get away from normal life for peace and quite this is the place to be. Fishing is good, watching the stars was great on clear nights. And just watching the small birds eating off the feeders was relaxing.

Hayley's Hut was truly gorgeous, totally private and such a tranquil spot. Hayley has thought of everything to make your stay special and the hut was super clean and cosy. We loved watching the red sky and bats from the hot tub every evening. We totally recommend Hayley's Hut for anyone who wants a relaxing quiet, romantic get away from it all!!

We had an absolutely beautiful honeymoon at Hayley's Hut. Hayley was brilliant at showing us around and had put lots of "Mr and Mrs" decoration touches which was really thoughtful. The hut has everything you could ever need and is beautifully decorated. The bed is really comfy and has a great view out over the lake. It was a beautiful place to relax, fish and cook over the fire pit. The hot tub and cream tea on arrival were a fabulous bonus!

Our stay at Hayley's Hut exceeded all expectations. The attention to detail was faultless and we feel that this was one of the best breaks that we have ever had. We had bought some extras with us thinking that we would need things like dressing gowns, hair dryer, games and the like but on arriving at the hut found that all these items were already there. The surrounding area, even being on a working dairy farm, was calm and tranquil. The hot tub was ready to go as soon as we arrived and many an evening was spent submerged in it whilst star gazing and watching the bats swooping over the lake. The cream tea that was waiting for us on arrival was wonderful and the breakfast that we had book in advance was also waiting for us and included: bacon, sausages, eggs, a loaf of bread, granola and good old Heinz ketchup, did not disappoint . I really can not praise Hayley's Hut highly enough. We didn't even need to bring equipment for our dog (even though we did) as there was a feeding bowl. water bowl, a towel, blankets, a chain, treats.....the list goes on. The bed is very cleverly designed so that you can near enough store it away already made so that as soon as you are ready to snuggle up it was there and you didn't have to spend ages getting it ready. Oh and waking up to a view looking up the lake was sublime :) First class accommodation, a delightful little haven nestled away in North Devon. We will definitely be back. SOON. Couldn’t have picked a better glamping escape! The hut itself had everything you needed and more... with so many lovely little touches. Peaceful location, with the lake full of Roach for anyone looking to fish. Couldn’t recommend a visit enough!

A lovely self catered accommodation that is perfect for a couples weekend away. Location was very good and couldn’t fault the morning view from bed or stargazing at night. Jacuzzi was an excellent feature and was perfect for releaxing in the evenings. Hayley and Tom were very hospitable and helpful. Throughly enjoyed our stay and will recommend to family and friends. A weekend never to forget!
