Great Eckworthy - The Cottage

A really beautiful cottage in lovely surroundings, very tastefully refurbished and equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The hosts were lovely!

We would recommend this cottage as a lovely place in the countryside with a great hot tub and log burner. The cottage is equipped with everything one needs for self-catering. The owners are so lovely and welcoming but leave you alone unless you need them. It’s dog friendly which is great. We will be back!!

The cottage is beautiful, very clean and well equipped, with a lovely comfortable lounge and a cosy log fire. All the facilities are first class with everything provided for a wonderful holiday. The hot tub is a wonderful bonus. With regards to the location, it is in beautiful countryside, perfect for walking. Most facilities are within a short drive. Anna is an excellent and friendly host, always available for assistance and any questions. Altogether a wonderful break. Stan and Angie.

My daughter and I were made to feel so very welcome and everything we needed was in our wonderful cottage The bed was beyond comfortable and there were real size bone china mugs to drink our tea from Just made our few days together mum and daughter even more precious

Excellent property maintained at a very high standard with quality fixtures, fittings and furniture. Hosts extremely welcoming and attentive. Conveniently located to visit sights on North Devon coast. Very relaxing stay.

Me and my girlfriend Katie stayed at the Cottage for 4 nights and it was Amazing! Chris and Anna were amazing on greeting us and welcoming us. The hot tub and log burner were my favourite things! Even when it was raining getting out in the hot tub then back into the cottage to get the log burner on and play some board games with the Netflix on the TV was a dream.

The Cottage totally exceeded our expectations. The property is finished to a very spec and everything is as described - only better! I am looking forward to booking again and enjoying all the facilities this property offers !

Our visit to Great Ecworthy, The Cottage, was fantastic. All aspects of the accommodation were exceptional, beautiful bedding, furnishings, cutlery, crockery. Fabulous outdoor facilities, furniture, jacuzzi, towels, robes. The cleanliness is second to none. It’s delightful to visit a cottage where you can truly relax in sheer comfort and indulgence. The outdoors offer picturesque views and birdsong. A truly stunning cottage. This was our second visit this year, we stayed in The Barn in May, which led us to booking two weeks in August of this year. Great owners, professional, helpful, thoughtful. This is 5* accommodation, a rare find, a delight.

Absolutely beautifully run and designed. Perfect when you have a 4 legged friend with you. Chris and Anna were great really lovely people and so kind. We have now been twice and we will be back. Highly recommend

What a lovely Cottage in a very peaceful beautiful location. Just perfect for relaxing and chilling. Anna & Chris are lovely and about should you need anything and very knowledgeable about the area. The cottage does have everything you need and if it doesn’t they will get it for you. Outside area is well presented and the hidden/ private Hot Tub is fabulous. Dog friendly with some very lovely little walks around the fields near the property. These are well maintained and there are seats to rest and take the amazing vista in. Although there are other cottages it is very private. Definitely recommend these cottages! Hopefully we will be back.

Such a delightful cottage perfect for a couple’s getaway. Anna and Chris have done a fantastic job in creating a lovely warm and cosy space with quality furnishings, kitchen equipment and toiletries. It was a chilly July afternoon when we arrived and the wood burner had been thoughtfully lit for us. The hot tub is a treat at the end of the day. The decking area is a relaxing area for a morning coffee while admiring the stunning hanging baskets and pots prepared by Anna. Lots of information provided for the local area and things to do. (Cycle on the Tarka Trail recommended). They are very keen to make your stay as enjoyable as possible and always available to help but not intrusively so. Recommended if you want a peaceful stay in lovely surroundings.

The most amazing little cottage. What a great find, you've really thought of everything. We had wall to wall sunshine so it was heavenly. Sandymouth beach is stunning. We spent the whole day there and walked to Bude. 5* xx

Wow! 5* We would highly recommend a stay at this property. We loved: The warm welcome from the hosts The thoughtful hamper with high quality extras, many locally sourced. The accommodation with a pre-lite fire on arrival for that truly warm welcome. The Cottage was spotlessly clean and had all that we needed for a cosy stay over the Christmas period, including wonderful Christmas decorations. The birds and the views are beautiful. The hot tub was such a treat. Fabulous hosts, friendly, helpful and so kind. ?? What's not to like? The only downfall was, we had to leave?

We received the warmest of welcomes at Gt Eckworthy from Anna and Chris. The personal touch really does go a long way! I would describe The Cottage as having the WOW factor. Immaculately presented, a stunning location, so quiet and peaceful. It’s an absolute pleasure to return to every day after our trips exploring. The quality of the furnishings and comfort offered to guests is exceptionally high. Compliments to the housekeeping for their endeavours, simply outstanding. We relaxed inside in comfort, enjoyed outside meals on the deck in glorious Autumn sunshine surrounded by Anna’s beautiful tubs and baskets and the sparkling and spotlessly clean hot tub was the icing on the cake! So many lovely places to visit close by, especially RHS Rosemoor. Appledore and Instow. Sandymouth Bay was delightful. We loved every second of our stay. This cottage is the best rental we have stayed in. We have been doing this for over 50 years in the West Country. Anna and Chris have put together an amazing package of thoughtful and delightfully crafted places to stay. You will not be disappointed, just go ahead and booK.

A lovely stay at a peaceful location. The cottage is beautifully fitted and furnished and the terrace and hot tub are great. We also enjoyed the field whilst we were staying, our dog loved it!

You couldn’t wish for a better welcome than we had from Anna & Chris at Great Eckworthy. Nothing was too much trouble and the cottage was beautifully furnished with super comfortable bed and linens. It was one of the best equipped houses we have visited. The setting was so peaceful, all you could hear were the birds singing and it was such a pleasure to sit on the terrace surrounded by Anna’s gorgeous plants. Another highlight was coming home after a days golf and soaking in our own private hot tub with a glass of bubbly - bliss. Everything in this cottage is 5*. Everything was provided plus extra . Complementary foodie items and toiletries (top quality).

An escape from busy exhausting and over-stimulating lives. The quietness in the morning brought so much calm and peace. Close to so many beautiful sites and well research recommendations from Anna and Chris. A lot of care and attention have been put into making this a real retreat. Our hosts were lovely and kind and we really could not believe our luck in finding this little gem. BOOK! You really will not regret it!

We had the most amazing long weekend break, would highly recommend this place to friends and family. Anna and Chris were so friendly and welcoming. We arrived late and we got into the cottage and the fire was already on and a bottle of Prosecco in the fridge. Was such a beautiful place!

Dog friendly beautiful fields to walk in for the dog. This cottage has all the appliances you could possibly need. Lots to visit close by. The bedrooms have top class mattresses and linen. Wood burners dishwashers all equipment provided. Great value for money. Highly recommended.
