Great Eckworthy - The Barn

The Barn was the perfect place to spend New Year with friends and our two dogs. Chris and Anna are fabulous hosts and were so very kind and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms are cosy, comfortable and furnished beautifully. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped and the views are stunning. A soak in the hot tub after day out walking was the perfect end to each day. The best Classic property we have stayed in to date, would definitely recommend.

The Bsrn is like opening the door of your own holiday home! Everything is where it should be, and it's oh so comfortable and relaxing. Anna and Chris are the idea hosts for this intimate group of holiday cottages - their attention to detail is simply outstanding!

Anybody looking for the perfect property, in a great location, beautifully decorated, great amenities and fantastic hosts this is the place for you! Our stay at the Barn at Great Eckworthy could not have been any better and can’t recommend this place and the hosts enough!

We loved our stay at The Barn. It was in a lovely quiet, picturesque spot, yet not far from the excitement of the waves! The cottage is beautiful; stylishly decorated and excellently kitted out with everything you could need. The private outside space (next to fields) is great for relaxing with a book, enjoying the hot tub or eating an alfresco meal. Fantastic holiday let.

The Barn was above our expectations. The furnishing is very beautiful, the beds are very comfortable. The hottub makes you feel at a luxurious holiday. From the Barn you can easily reach the beautiful coast of Devon and north Cornwall , and enjoy the beach or hike the Southwest coast path. The roads are challenging, it also makes you unwind ( you can’t hurry). Our dogs also had a very nice time, the garden has fences, so they can walk freely. They can run in the field nearby. The owners are very very friendly. We recommend Great Eckworthy, we had a very nice holiday!

This property is absolutely superb; best we've ever rented. The hosts are lovely and the area is beautifully peaceful and quiet. The proximity to all North Devon has to offer makes this place somewhere special to stay.

We just completed an incredible stay at Great Eckworthy cottages in the 6 sleeper with our family from the US and UK and our fur baby Well before our arrival, Anna contacted me with recommendations of the surrounding areas, which really helped us plan our visit in advance. Upon arriving, we were enthusiastically greeted by Chris and Anna, who gave us a very warm welcome and a tour of the beautiful cottage. They also left a tray of fresh local eggs, coffee, and milk with a handwritten welcome note. This was a lovely personal touch, which was greatly appreciated The cottage itself was impeccable. It was very pet friendly and had a fully enclosed backyard for our fur baby to roam freely. We had 3 good-sized rooms and bathrooms , a lovely, spacious living and dining room and a fully spec'd kitchen. The cottage contained everything we needed over the weekend, including dog throws and bowls, games, books, and the softest gowns that we wouldn't even find in a luxury hotel. We especially loved the hot tub and the fact that the hosts refilled it on the second day of our stay. During our stay, we made the most of the recommendations given to us by Anna. We did a walk in Hartland Quay and had gorgeous dinners at the Black River Inn and the Royal George Inn in appledore. It was an all round amazing, good-for-the soul stay, and we already can't wait to return. A huge thank you to Chris and anna

Simply perfect. We travelled together as a family of three couples, so having three superking bedrooms with three shower/bathrooms was ideal for us and exactly what we wanted when considering accommodation in Devon. The property is just as described on the website and very well looked after. It is spotlessly clean and well equipped with tasteful furnishings and extra little touches which make it a special place to stay. The outside space has a hot tub and sunloungers, with a dining table and chairs - perfect for alfresco relaxing. We had beautiful weather in mid May yet had the added benefit of the logburner for chilly evenings. Anna and Chris are really welcoming whilst giving their guests complete privacy. We all loved The Barn at Great Eckworthy and can't wait to return - it is simply perfect for us and ticks all our boxes.

Perfect accommodation for three couples who want privacy, exceptional accommodation in and outdoor, with five star attention to detail.

Simply lovely. This was our second stay, the first with the new owners, Anna and Chris. Nothing was too much trouble. They have improved an already fabulous property. There are three good sized rooms and bathrooms so can easily suit six people with ease. The decor is lovely and high-end. It was secluded which suited us and the dog and had the added benefit of a secure field for the dog and an outside patio and jacuzzi for us. Although they couldn't control the weather for us we had a great time as it's only a few miles to the beach (Westward Ho!, Instow and Appledore) and the dog-friendly pubs (The Bell Inn - Parkham for Sunday lunch, the Instow Arms - Instow and The Beaver Inn - Appledore). Even if you don't want to drive there is plenty to do at the property, including walks, BBQ, nature watching and star gazing at night. We can't wait to return.

Thank you to our hosts for a fabulous New Year Break. The house was immaculate and very comfortable for 6 adults. The views from the cottage of the countryside were superb.

The cottage was a dream. It was a 5star home away from home, beautifully decorated and extremely clean. Anna and Chris are the ultimate hosts and nothing was any trouble. Having stayed in numerous holiday cottages over many years, The Barn was the most comfortable and and well-appointed, luxurious holiday cottage that we've ever stayed in. It offers everything we could have wished for and more, it certainly deserves it's 5-star rating. Anna and Chris are so welcoming and offer many hints as to eateries and local places of interest. For example, we enjoyed a great evening and meal at the Farmers Arms at Woolsery, an excellent pub restaurant, serving high quality food, with a good wine list. The idyllic rural location of The Barn has to be the icing on the cake. We will certainly be returning.

Enchanting Escape at The Barn, Great Eckworthy - Classic Cottages Review Our stay at The Barn in Great Eckworthy through Classic Cottages was nothing short of enchanting. Classic Cottages, coupled with the unique charm of The Barn, provided the perfect backdrop for relaxation and creating lasting memories. In summary, we wholeheartedly recommend Classic Cottages and The Barn for those seeking a comfortable and welcoming getaway. Anna and Chris’s exceptional hospitality, combined with the starlit hot tub experience, made our stay truly unforgettable. We eagerly anticipate our next visit for another round of relaxation and stargazing.

The cottage is extremely well equipped and beautifully decorated and finished throughout. Excellent attention to detail; very private and secluded location. The hosts are charming and very helpful and on hand if needed but otherwise discrete.

The building itself was attractive and very well decorated. The materials were of high quality and the finish was excellent. The beds and linen were also to a high standard. Fantastic kitchen. The owners were very friendly and being on site could assist as needed. Whilst access to the property was not easy due to the narrow lanes that said it was worth it for the overall quality of the property itself. 5*

Great Eckworthy - The Barn is a delightful property, furnished to the highest standard and absolutely spotless. The site is lovely and the garden and hot tub are a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the surroundings. The owners, Anna and Chris, are a lovely couple...friendly, attentive and helpful in every way.

Absolutely loved our stay at Moonlit Barn. We all loved the garden, day and night - the stars have to be seen to be believed. This was our first visit to North Devon but it won’t be our last. We loved the beach at Instow, great with a dog. RHS Rosemoor is beautiful and so is Lydford Gorge. My only word is caution is regarding the roads, be prepared for narrow, twisting, bumpy single-track roads. The barn is secluded so if you have younger children or are not keen to drive everywhere, this probably isn't the place for you. But if you don’t mind exploring and are looking for peace, quiet and relaxing I couldn’t recommend Moonlit Barn enough.

We had a great stay at Moonlit Barn. The quality of the cottage was first class, with everything you need, along with those quality touches that show the hosts really know what customers need and want. The hosts were incredibly accomodating as well. It's also in a really nice location, close to amenities but far enough away in a very peaceful place. Highly recommended.

The quality of furniture, fixtures, fittings and equipment was exceptional high. The extra detailed touches of slippers to access the hot tub, luxury bath robes, secret garden, interior design and coordination themes, are just a few of the many attention to detail items that made staying at Moonlit Barn a wonderful experience. It is important to follow the directions provided to get to Moonlit Barn. The minor roads immediately surrounding the location are narrow and some have potholes, so it is easy to get lost. However, in the week we stayed, we only came across two other cars, which required exercising my reverse driving skills. Another upshot of staying at Moonlit Barn, every time we arrived at the location after a day out, it felt as euphoric as the first time of arriving on day 1. For those who cannot escape work or prefer to be social media savy, the wifi was fast and steady, no fluctuations or drop out. Although this review is 5 stars, if you want more, sit in th hot tub at night and with no light pollution there are millions.

This was the best UK Cottage break we have ever had, and we have had a lot! Excellent in every way - every need anticipated and satisfied to an exceptional standard. We were helped along by the hottest few days the UK has ever seen, but the cottage was a perfect cool escape when the heat got too much. The outdoor space was more than enough for our party of 5 + dog who all had a brilliant time. The facilities and quality of the cottage were exceptional. We picked up a lot of ideas for our own home furnishings from Moonlit Barn and look forward to stealing a few lovely design ideas! We will definitely be back - it was perfect.

Moonlit barn was perfect in every way. The cottage had everything we needed to make it a real home from home. Idyllic surroundings for us and our 2 dogs. Ending the day in the hot tub made it a truly relaxing holiday.

Moonlit barn is by far the best holiday stay we have stayed in , apart from being fabulously designed, it was immaculate and every little detail thought of , the owners have gone over and above , they added extra touches and treats , a real gem with the wow factor !
