Mrs Jackson
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Appledore at Seagull Cottage. It was an excellent location with just a short walk down the hill into the village and the quay. Lots of lovely little shops to explore and fish and chips and a few nice cost pubs/eateries/cafes. The cottage was cosy and had everything that we needed. There was milk in the fridge for us when we arrived which was a nice touch. The sitting room was small but cosy. The kitchen was well stocked with kitchen equipment including a double air fryer. The garden was sweet and quiet. The children could walk down to the quay and go crabbing or visit the beach and so could be quite independent. It felt very safe and the locals were friendly. We went to a local pub The Seagate on the first night which was OK. Good idea to book ahead if you want to eat out as they all get very booked up - on the second night we thought we had booked at The Seagate to do the pub quiz but they did not hold this for us as so we went home disappointed. Sometimes, it is not that warm so you don't want to sit outside. Went to Westward Ho! which is a very close beach and good for families and paddle barding/ surfing. Can get pretty choppy and keep an eye on the tides as this seems to change an awful lot day to day. The beach is a mixture of big stones and some sand. Difficult to traverse if you have an mobility issues. Would recommend using wetsuits as is always quite cold. Dogs were welcome pretty much anywhere and ours loved the holiday. We would definitely recommend it as a place to stay and would consider staying there again. Lovely holiday , thank you.

We had a lovely week in Seagull house. It's so well located for the quay, being less than a ten minute walk down the steep hill, and also is just next door to Anchor park which was a lovely place for the kids to play without having to cross any roads. Unfortunately this is quite relevant as the house is situated on one of the major roads into Appledore - although the seagulls were a better alarm clock than the nearby busstop. I would not say that the house was perfect - there were a few niggles, and the lounge is surprisingly small which might make fitting six in there very friendly. However there wasn't anything which stopped us enjoying our holiday there and I expect the niggles could be easily addressed. The house was clean, well presented, had comfortable beds and surprisingly powerful showers.

Nice cottage but disappointing not up to expectations for cost No chance for parking along road Car park £30 a week but no guarantee to get a space even when paid Shower door doesn’t stay closed Bed comfy Lounge and kitchen would be small for 6 guests

Ideal base to explore Appledore and surrounding area, excellent place to stay for people but not those with mobility issues
Mr Sargent
A really comfortable cottage that made a memorable holiday in Appledore. Street parking opposite the cottage a bonus. Plenty of space in the cottage for 5 people and a dog. A lovely walk past the maritime museum and down the most beautiful little Appledore street to sea front. Great places to eat, booking recommended in the height of the summer. Instow dog friendly beach a great place to view Appledore! Don’t hesitate, Seagull House is a lovely place to stay.
Mr Shepherd
The cottage is conveniently located for lovely Appledore and its restaurants and shops, although it is on the main road into the resort and opposite the bus stop which was a bit noisy. Car parking is available just around the corner at a reasonable price for the week. Comfortable stay although might be a tight squeeze for six and and some housekeeping issues that needed to be addressed.
