If you love the sound of birdsong and a wonderfully peaceful location, book an escape to this wonderful rural retreat. Tucked away in the Cornish countryside, surrounded by fields and woodland, there are miles of rural rambles and cycle routes right on your doorstep and with the beaches, clifftop walks and waterside villages of Cornwall's north coast all close by this is a great base for a holiday.

Set all on one level, The Garden Lodge has a beautiful private garden which puts on a different display with the changing seasons and far reaching views of the rolling countryside beyond. It's the perfect spot to enjoy this blissfully rural setting from morning coffee to evening sundowners.

Inside, light and comfortable interiors await, with the living areas linking effortlessly together, so you can enjoy time together. The sitting-room certainly makes the most of the setting with large windows overlooking the garden and sliding doors leading out to the patio. And when it turns a little chillier, the warming wood-burner will keep you nice and toasty, making this a great choice for those out-of-season breaks.

Set in the grounds of the glorious Tredethy House, the lovely owners are on hand to give you a warm welcome but then leave you to enjoy your holiday. They invite you to explore their garden and historic woodlands which will delight young and old alike, not to mention any four-legged friends joining the party.

Mrs Kerboul

The Garden Lodge exceeded our expectations. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful but also unobtrusive. The cream tea on arrival, eggs and handmade soaps were much appreciated, special touches. The cottage is spacious and comfortable with plenty of room for two adults and four children. Everything we needed was provided and accommodation is well presented. The gardens are superb and there is plenty to do locally. We enjoyed the Science Museum in Bodmin, Trevone beach, Tintagel Castle and crabbing in Padstow among other things. We hope to return in the near future.

Mr Tobin

Lovely, hospitable welcome from the Harpers to the aptly named Garden Lodge. The generous accommodation was comfortably furnished and well-equipped - its two bathrooms and the private garden for outside eating were greatly appreciated. The quiet location with countryside views provided an idle spot to get to many local attractions. Would happily recommend.

Just spent a week at Garden Lodge. We were made to feel very welcome and were interested to hear the owners story of how they are continuing to develop the property. Excellent location, with lots of places being within a thirty minute drive. Spacious property, beautifully decorated and very well equipped. There is lovely private garden to enjoy and you can also wander around the extensive grounds and woodland. Would be happy to recommend to friends and family.
