Luscious interiors await you at this stunning dog-friendly retreat for eight lucky people set in hip and very trendy St Agnes on the north Cornwall coast. This stunning detached house is located at Wheal Turnavore, a gorgeous collection of bespoke stylish homes inspired by the Cornish coast and countryside. This gorgeous retreat oozes style and comfort, think modern day beach house. Step through the front door into a very welcoming hallway, head into the dreamy open plan living-room, sink into the cosy sofas and instantly switch off from the hustle and bustle of your busy lives.

At Wharemoana you'll enjoy an abundance of space and light, the whole property radiates luxurious relaxation blending effortless style with comfort. This is the ultimate property for that extra special family getaway or memorable group holiday. Wharemoana [FAR-eh-mow-AH-nah] is a word taken from the Maori people of New Zealand which is roughly translated as 'house by the sea'. This unique name was chosen by the owners because the rugged coastline and unspoilt beaches of the north coast of Cornwall reminded them so much of their favourite parts of New Zealand, and we think it suits the house perfectly!

Downstairs the whole family can enjoy their own space in the vast yet comfortable open plan kitchen, dining and sitting area. In the living-room you have plenty of space to sprawl out in, or if you prefer cosy up in front of the roaring wood-burner. You may prefer to enjoy the sofa with a good book and open the doors onto the garden. The kitchen has all that you need to create those feasts that you never find time for at home. The dining-table seats eight, while the breakfast-bar enables conversations with the cook at work.

The large ground floor utility-room will swallow all your coats, shoes and drying towels. It has a washing machine and a tumble-drier too.

The simple gardens surround the rear of the house and offer plenty of space for cooking and dining outside (there's a great barbecue for the outdoor chef). There's room to play, a lovely deck to soak up the sunshine on and plan the week ahead. If possible, the garden will be even lovelier once the newly planted foliage becomes more established and provides privacy from the neighbouring properties.

Upstairs, there are four stunningly sumptuous bedrooms, all boasting crisp white linens and super-comfy beds. The main bedroom with fabulous en suite oozes luxury - oh to sleep in a room like this! A king-size bed with a large walk-in shower in the en suite and plenty of storage space. In addition, there's a further three bedrooms. A very pretty double bedroom, a bunk bedroom which is ideal and only suitable for children, given the beds are 2'6", and at the end of the landing you have a bedroom with 'zip and link' beds. All share the rather fabulous family bathroom. Downstairs next to the utility-room there is a walk-in shower (perfect for quick showers after a day on the beach) and a WC.

Customer reviews

Good or bad, we publish all the reviews left by the guests who have stayed at this property.

Mr Mathieson

The cottage is in a very convenient quiet location for the beach and the village. The walk back from the beach is steep however (about 1 in 5) so ideally best not contemplated immediately after lunch. The cottage is well appointed with particularly comfortable beds. We really enjoyed our stay.

Mr Streeter-Smith

This is an amazing property. So clean and everything you could ask for. It’s in such a lovely spot too.

Mrs Harris

The location of the house is fabulous and we’ve been returning to St Agnes for many years now. The house itself is nice and comfortable and has pretty much everything needed for a decent family holiday. Rooms are plenty big enough for everyone.

Dr Jaderberg

Excellent!

Mrs French

Garden very overlooked

Mr Bartlett

First rate home from home. Highly recommended.

Mrs Ramirez

What a beautiful and comfortable house! The location was great, St. Agnes was very pretty and a great base to explore Cornwall. We had everything we needed and more at the house! We all enjoyed our stay.

Mr Tabor-Thomas

Very clean, comfortable, spacious and tastefully decorated. St Agnes has great eateries and nearby beaches are fabulous.

Miss Allum

A gorgeous house in a great location close to all St. Agnes amenities (about 10 min walk) but quieter and 5 mins walk from SW Coastal path. House is modern, comfortable, kitted out very well with clean, neutral decor. Open living space is really lovely - it feels spacious and cosy all at the same time. Wood burner and smart TV greatly appreciated and well used! Great information folder, it is clear that the owners have thought of everything and want people to enjoy their home. St. Agnes is a beautiful Cornish village with everything you need yet it feels residential and not touristy at all. Would highly recommend Wharemoana and St. Agnes.

Mr Armstrong

Nice house, light & airy, great garden for kids, great location, plenty of parking but be careful of rough road and very clean. One downside; three bathrooms but only two useable showers.

Mrs Hughes

We thoroughly enjoyed our first Cornwall holiday. The accommodation and location was perfect. Everything we needed was provided and the property was spotlessly clean. Can't wait to return .

Mrs Knight

We loved our time at Moana. The bedrooms were comfortable and spotlessly clean, with hot, powerful showers and plenty of towels. The living room had seating for all the family and we could easily squeeze 8 of us around the dining table. The kitchen was very well equipped - nice big fridge/freezer - though we also enjoyed take-aways from excellent local eating spots. We particularly enjoyed relaxing in the afternoon and evening sun on the decking when we got in from a walk or swim. We hope to visit again!

Mr Mudie

Great place to stay with family or friends. Ideally situated close to beaches, towns of st Agnes and near to Newquay. Great indoor/outdoor space and ideal to also have your pet with you.

Mr Sewell

We had a very good stay. Would recommend and will return.

Mrs Burley

A really lovely house. Very well equipped, brand new and comfortable. Great location for walks.

Mrs Stout

A lovely holiday in a well fitted out modern property. Perfectly positioned for walking into town and for access to the amazing coastal paths. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
