3 Porthilly
Rock is a very special destination and, coupled with the comfort and deceptively spacious interior of this charming Cornish terraced cottage, guests are assured a wonderful holiday.
The accommodation is divided over two floors, with the well-equipped kitchen/breakfast-room, bathroom, shower-room and double bedroom on the ground floor, and the sitting-room and two further bedrooms upstairs. The sitting-room has large cosy sofas, a warming wood-burner (a must for those out-of-season breaks) and large floor to ceiling windows; guests will just love this light room, which has glorious views out across the enclosed garden to the open fields beyond.
Within easy walking distance are the village amenities; the shops, art galleries, tea-rooms, pubs and beaches are all practically on your doorstep.

3 Porthilly is a lovely cottage in a great location, beautiful views from the sitting room of the countryside and a short walk to the Porthilly Cove Beach, dog friendly and has wonderful views across the Camel estuary to Padstow.
Mrs Rollinson
What a wonderful week at 3 Porthilly, property was perfect for our family of 4 and Springer. Everything we needed and more, secure garden, outside hose, ground floor bathroom off the utility/ entrance area. Plenty of hanging space and self catering facilities were excellent. Location was perfect, just a short walk to the cove and to Rock beach. Highly recommend Fee’s for morning coffee and pastry after a walk on the beach and the circular from the cottage to Polzeath was stunning. We will definitely be returning in the near future!!
Ms Will
Don’t use the cottage if cleanliness or having modern appliances that are clean and functional is important to you. It’s good space, good spot (traffic a bit noisy passes v close to windows). But the property needs a thorough clean throughout, repairs and upgrading of kitchen and bathroom. Classic dealt ok with complaint and we were partially reimbursed but owner didn’t see the issue. Hopefully it will have a bit of money spent on it as it good be a really good little cottage.
Mrs Rollinson
This is a superb traditional Cornish cottage with excellent views over countryside from the upstairs lounge
MRS CAWOOD
Best cottage we’ve stayed in for years - everything just perfect!
Mrs Ellis
A very comfortable cottage in a lovely location.
Mr Holmes
3 Porthliiy in Rock, Cornwall is an excellent 3 bedroom cottage with all the comforts of home to hand. It has excellent views from the main living room over the Cornish countryside and a local walk of a few hundred meters leads down to one of the many beaches on Rock. If you are looking for a relaxing time this cottage is ideal to sit and unwind and act as an excellent base from where to enjoy Rock and all it has to offer.
Mrs McCormick
Overall we had a wonderful stay in this cottage and loved that it was warm and cozy and in a great location. The utility room and outdoor hose for washing the dog made life so much easier.
Miss White
We had a lovely week at this cottage, perfect location to walk to Porthilly Cove which is just down the lane from the Cottage, at low tide you can walk all the way to Daymer Bay, our Dog loved it. The cottage was well equipped with everything we needed, the beds were nice and comfortable and the enclosed garden was perfect for our Dog. The views across the countryside are beautiful from the upstairs lounge.
Mrs Tibbs
Cottage feels a bit dated and felt a bit tired. We did have some issues but Classic Cottages were excellent in resolving these. Dog friendly beach is a short walk down the road and nice enclosed garden for pooch. Quiet location and great for exploring the lovely beaches.
Mrs Conquest
3 Porthilly is a really sweet little cottage in a great location.
Ms Swain
Beautiful cottage, we got married whilst staying here and it was perfect!
Mr Morris
Good location for a relaxing holiday
Mr Barrett
A lovely cottage in a lovely location. Perfect for our family of five and our Vizsla. Plenty of space and great views over the farmland. Easy access to the lovely beaches and village facilities all within walking distance so nice not having to always use the car. The bakery up the road was a great find for some yummy treats.
Mr Stubbs
Amazing location with the local pubs and restaurants in walking distance. Ideal if travelling with a dog, the local beaches are simply incredible and lots of coastal path walks available from the cottage. Our only negatives were the lack of kindling, which we had to purchase ourselves, and the amount of visible cobwebs in the bedroom and living room areas. For the money paid, we would have expected it to be cleaned to a higher standard.
Miss Lofts
Once cleaned it was a nice cottage in a great location but rather expensive for two! Unfortunately I spent the first day of our holiday organising a deep clean as it was not in a fit state for rental
Mrs Rimmer
3 Porthilly was a perfect Cornish cottage with quirky features but very comfortable and ideal for all our needs. Lots of hot water & fluffy towels and very comfy beds. The location was perfect, near to beaches, bars and cafes and ferry to Padstow. Lots of lovely walks and easy drives to Cornish villages. The weather was unbelievable and the garden a bonus. We really enjoyed sitting out at The Mariners overlooking the lovely coast. So lovely to visit and relax after a long lockdown Thanks xx
Ms Christie-Smith
Glorious week in peaceful cottage with lovely views of field and cows but so wonderfully close to Porthilly Cove. We loved the ferry to Padstow and walking back from the restaurants in Rock via the beach at low tide. A read find and we will be hopefully be returning soon!
Dr Temple
Lovely little cottage. Perfect for a week getaway - enough space for 2 couples. Excellent location for exploring Cornwall.
Mrs Burgess
We booked 3 Porthilly because of its location. The photographs on the website do not do justice to the property - the garden has been upgraded and the cooker has been replaced (which in my view was essential). Again, personally I would welcome a zip & link super king size bed in the large upstairs bedroom - 3' beds for adults are not ideal. The bathroom is adequate if you stand right in the corner whilst showering otherwise water floods over the lip of the bath onto the floor, as the shower screen is ineffective, I don't think the lower bedroom is damp, although as the front of the property is below the level of the lane outside, the floor under the carpeting is probably damp. The view from the upstairs room across the fields is currently very attractive but there is some development being undertaken just across the car park area so I'm not sure what impact that will have next year. Loads of hot water!
Mrs Bowley
The cottage location is good however the cleanliness of the property is poor. The downstairs bedroom smelled damp. I would not recommend this cottage due to the damp.
Mrs Ellis
We love this property and the location. We found some beautiful walks, safe & dog friendly beaches, we have already booked for next year. Thank You so much Classic Cottages, we had such a lovely relaxing holiday after an extended lockdown, so pleased to be able to travel again & out of lockdown having worked from home for more than 5 months. We now feel refreshed and ready to start work again. Kind Regards Julia & Phil Ellis And Eddie
Mrs Pizer
Fantastic location. Perfect for a lockdown vacation. Easy to avoid too many people and still enjoy the beaches. Loved the provision of board games, garden and facilities provided. Great view from lounge. Thanks for a wonderful stay. :-)
Mr Baxter
Super modern cottage with fab views! But we found some kitchen equipment could have been better. We had a pizza one evening & couldn't find a pizza cutter. Another evening we had rice & the colander holes were too big!(the rice fell thro). Pretty little private sunny garden. Lovely to sit in & relax with a good book! Location! Location! Location! Best ever situation of any holiday cottage we have stayed in! Proximity to the beach was excellent for us & our labrador. She loved swimming in the sea. And we loved walking over the beach at low tide to the restaurants & shops.
Mr Peters
Had a lovely week at 3 Porthilly in Rock. The cottage more than lived up to our expectations with gorgeous views over the surrounding countryside. A short walk down the lane takes you to Porthilly Beach and a short cut to two very good pubs and the Blue Tomato Restaurant. Enjoyed taking the ferry over to Padstow and exploring the surrounding beaches and bays with our dog Lottie.
Mrs Walsh
This is a lovely, light, comfortable, spacious cottage in a superb location. Would love to stay again.
Mrs Gregorowius
If you like long walks along the coastal path, enjoy breathtaking views nearby, are enthusiastic about art and very good food or just want to meet nice people wherever you go, 3 Porthilly is an excellent base for all of this! We enjoyed our stay in this cosy cottage which had everything we could have asked for. Most of all, we felt at home.
Mr Morley
Very quiet and peaceful area with beautiful beaches and scenic views.
Mrs Seamons
Horrible
Mrs Guy
Great location, comfortable property.
Ms Emms
Lovely cottage. Modern, light and airy, but cosy too with fab efficient wood burner. Super location, close to beach, shops, restaurants and ferry.
Mr Howard
Ticks all the boxes for a simple, but effective, family retreat in the heart of Rock. Felt at home straight away - missing the lazy evenings we had in the beautiful 1st floor lounge, with the cosy log burner crackling in the corner.
Mr Filer
The cottage is in a good location and just a few minutes walk to the beach. The uphill walk back may be difficult for some with mobility problems though. We had a few issues, no markings on hotplate controls as worn away, no extra bin bags left or cleaning cloths for the kitchen, both of which we had to buy. No storage space for food. No mirrors in twin or single bedroom which could be a problem if you have teenagers with you. The lounge looked a bit sparse and not very cosy if the weather is bad and a lot of time is spent there. Just a few little touches needed to make this cottage more appealing and comfortable and value for money. But double bed comfortable, plenty of towells provided and constant hot water. Cream tea left for us was really appreciated and we enjoyed our week.
Mrs Rissmann
It is a sparse equipped cottage with hardly any space for storage in a very good location.
Mr Hamilton
A delightful retreat the perfect place for a family holiday-superb facilities and a fab location
Mrs Arnold
Warm, cosy good location pronounced Porth illy. Take lots of change for carparks, ferry to/from Padstow is £4 return and there is a Night Taxi you phone for. Bakers and deli in Rock are very very good. There is a Spa and the Fish and Chip Shop is excellent.
Mrs Schoonhoven
Cosy yet well appointed cottage in excellent location for all the amenities that Rock has to offer.
Ms Etcell
Lovely cottage in a stunning part of the country!
Mrs Laker
A lovely cottage. Ideal for the family or a couple. Nice beach walks, safe for children to explore. Local services excellent.
Ms Roberts
Great location lovely and quiet
Mr Healy
Excellent location for Rock riverfront and for the ferry to Padstow - most days the car stayed parked at the cottage.
