Just a mile from the superb surfing waves and glorious sandy beaches at Perranporth, this beautiful chocolate box thatched cottage is the perfect holiday location for family gatherings or groups of friends. Tretawny has everything you need whether you choose to relax by the sea or explore further afield and of course no holiday is complete without the family four-legged friend who is most welcome here.

Stroll down the path from the car parking space, through the front garden taking in the idyllic surroundings, open the stable door and step inside this extra special home-from-home. The hallway with all the original curved stone walls leads you through the ground floor where the low beams and sloping ceilings throughout really add to the charm of this property.

The inviting kitchen/dining room is found down four steps from the entrance hall, the kitchen is fully fitted and expertly kitted out with all you could need for your holiday menu and the statement artwork adds a splash of colour and character. The large dining-table is the place for family feasting and those oh so delicious after supper drinks and chats.

Step through the hallway and down four stairs into the sitting-room complete with squishy sofas and a wood-burner effect electric stove where you can cosy up with board games, indulging in good old-fashioned quality time. Further along the hallway there's a wonderful snug room, a perfect space for the children to go and play while the adults take a well-earned rest.

The staircase leads from the sitting-room upstairs to three beautifully furnished bedrooms all located on the first floor. Bedroom one boasts a luxurious larger-than-king size bed (160cm), TV and en suite complete with bath, shower attachment and a heated towel rail. The lovely deep bath is perfect for soaking in and daydreaming after a long day exploring Cornwall. The second bedroom can be set up as a super-king or twin beds, meanwhile the cute bunk-bed room is a favourite with kids. There's also an additional shower-room upstairs with a heated towel rail to keep your fluffy towels warm and toasty.

Outside, the patio and garden that surrounds the rear of the cottage is just made for lazy evening entertaining. On the patio you'll find a table for six, perfect for summer celebrations, and there's a barbecue too.

Beautiful cottage, not to far from the local shops and sea, unfortunately we couldn’t do much walking as my husband broke his toe before we went so never found the walk to the beach. The cottage is easy to find but please be aware that parking is on the hard standing directly next to the grass it’s marked with white lines, there is no gravel or a clear sign post which we we’re looking for on arrival. We had very wet and windy weather and both the front and back door let in a lot of draft but it’s a listed cottage so to be expected. It was very well socked with everything you need. Beds are comfortable and towels are soft and fluffy, the bath towel is not a sheet size so to us they seemed small, it’s also worth noting that if you are not in the en-suite room you have to go downstairs to use the toilet of a night but this wasn’t a problem. All in all a nice break a away and lovely cottage to stay in.
