The Stables

This was our second visit to the stables, and even better than the first, had the best most relaxing holiday in a long time, enjoyed the grounds at Trewan, and the lovely private garden, had some great days out , beautiful beaches a short drive away,

We have been camping here every summer since 1999. So happy to be able to come down to the same place in the winter when crowds are smaller.

Brilliant stay, cottage was equipped with everything we needed. Peaceful location / close bye to seaside locations Will be returning to continue adventures

Loved staying at The Stables with our daughter and two small grandchildren. We were able to use all the facilities on the Trewan Hall campsite (which we normally do as campers). The cottage was fantastic and gave our daughter a taste of Trewan without camping!

The Stables is perfectly situated for a great variety of beaches. The Pool is brilliant, especially having the cover. The beautiful garden is perfect for having games with the family. A great base for the perfect holiday.

Id just like to say thankyou on behalf of the family for such a great holiday. We experienced our worst drive down in 20 years (10hours! When usually it's 5) so to walk in and be blown away by how nice the property and grounds were was amazing. One thing, the photos really don't do it justice, you could get some much better photos than the ones used. Even on the rainy days, we felt so comfortable at home we didn't mind just staying in and relaxing, it really was a fantastic stay, thankyou!

A high quality and impressive make over from stables to holiday accommodation. Wonderful setting and if you time it right you’ll get the joys of Trewan Hall as well.

We had a lovely few days at the stables, from the moment we arrived we relaxed, we both said wow! as we walked in, stunning accommodation, clean and very well equipped, every little detail seemed to have been thought of, throughly enjoyed walking around the grounds with our dogs, which we had mostly to ourselves, really didn’t want to leave.

Beautiful cottage in an amazing location

We absolutely loved our stay back again after last year, and we have already booked into for next year!

Lovely modern property - good location for accessing north coast but 20 mins from Truro too. Interior deal for those with mobility issues apart from managing 2 granite steps to front door and cobbles outside.

We had a wonderful few days at The Stables. It is one of the best we have stayed in. The accommodation is excellent & it’s location is fabulous . It made it even more special to receive the cream tea left for us. Would definitely book again. Thank you

An excellent place to stay, you will not be disappointed in any way. Warm and welcoming when you open the door and you will see the photos do not do justice to the place. The underfloor heating was amazingly warm and the log burner was a lovely addition on very cold nights. The only slightly negative point I had was that I had the slightly smaller shower room (my daughter likes to have a bath) and being disabled I found it a bit difficult to manoeuvre through the narrow door into the shower cubicle. I did it though so it wasn’t impossible. My dog enjoyed the garden too! Robins were grateful for the food we put out for them. Snowdrops were already flowering on the bank outside the cottage.

This has been our fifth time at the Stables and Coach House and we have booked again for next year!

We absolutely love the Stables (and have also stayed at the Coach House next door) - Trewan Hall is ideally located to explore all the stunning beaches of the north coast. Beautiful accommodations and perfect for our family get togethers!

The cottage is gorgeous - it is beautifully furnished and so spacious. It really did feel like a home from home. We loved our stay and are keen to come back and explore more of Cornwall.

We had a lovely stay at The Stables. The property exceeded expectations and we both said “wow” as we opened the door for the first time. The living and kitchen areas are really spacious but the property was still warm and cosy to relax in, even though there were just the two of us. Excellent lighting options in the main living areas which really makes a difference. As the house is all on one level it worked really well for my elderly mum (although the two steep steps to enter the property may be difficult for those less physically able). The grounds were lovely, really well kept and interesting - perfect for walking the dog, just like having our own private park! The location was very convenient for both the north and south coast so we had a busy week visiting all the usual suspects (Port Isaac, Padstow, Mevagissey, Fowey, Falmouth, Charlestown and others). We would definitely book again!

This Stables is well equipped, presented with beautiful decor. Very comfortable on a fantastic site with outdoor pool, fresh food at night and a variety of entertainment. Like us, many campers and caravaners have been going for decades and to have the Stables to stay in is a real treat. The site also has an outdoor pool and beautiful hall and gardens. An absolute delight.

This cottage is very comfortable and well-equipped, beautifully sited on the edge of a popular camping site with many facilities when the camping is open, and within easy reach of all the Cornwall attractions. We’d be very happy to come again.

The positives: lovely bright open kitchen/dining area and spacious lounge. Lots of storage and a secure garden for the dog. Lovely grounds to walk round and good location. However, the place needs a deep clean as it was dirty. Lots of dust, a dirty toilet seat, the main bedsheet looked as if it hadn't been changed and hairs on one of the pillows. Poor quality bedding and the pillows need changing as they're all lumpy and mis-shapen. Some of the equipment was faulty and cleaning products that should have been provided were not, which is concerning, given the recent pandemic. Won't stay here again.

Stunning , well equipped , loved it

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful outage. It had everything we needed and more. Trewan Hall was excellent with great amenities. The cottage was ideally located for the many beaches and attractions of North Cornwall.

Warm and welcoming cottage which really felt like a home from home over the Christmas week, with all the facilities and equipment you could possibly need. Despite being Grade II Listed, the Stables has a modern twist with underfloor heating and contemporary finishes which made us feel really comfortable. The Trewan Hall estate is quite magnificently peaceful in the off season and it was a real treat to be able to walk the around the grounds each day. The location is quiet but within easy reach of the local beaches and a main road for links to the nearby towns and attractions. We loved it, thank you!

We really enjoyed our stay at The Stables, the furniture was a good quality which you don't always get in a holiday cottage and we found the place very spacious and comfortable. We had everything we needed and looked forward to getting back in the warm at the end of the day and settle down for the evening. Being able to wander the grounds of the manor house was absolutely fantastic and we really enjoyed this. Loved hearing the pheasants by day and the owls by night. It was a very quiet and rural location and we really loved it. We have recommended it to people already and we would definitely return. Our only gripe is that the patio doors were extremely difficult to open and we would prefer to park directly outside the cottage.

The Stables is a spacious, comfortable and cosy place to stay. The location is fantastic, very close to Mawgan Porth and Padstow. We had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend this property.

Really lovely, comfortable, spacious and private accommodation with the added bonus of using the facilities of Trewan Hall campsite (table tennis, swimming pool & evening entertainment). Classic Cottages have been a pleasure to deal with having had to rebook our initial Christmas holiday twice, due to Covid restrictions- and we finally managed to enjoy the last week of the summer holidays at The Stables and it was worth the wait - we had a great time!

Excellent standard. Great location with a number of beaches and tourist destinations within a short drive. Wonderful management - we had an incident with the kettle (our fault), but they were very understanding and provided a new kettle the next day. There is a camp site on the premises, and cars drive past the Stables (reasonable hours only) so bear in mind if you’re sensitive to noise and will spend a lot of time at the house. Also some handy facilities on site (e.g. shop). Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We absolutely loved our time at the stables, all the rooms were extremely spacious and well equipped and the welcome tray of scones was a lovely touch. We would 100% stay again.

Very comfortable cottage , great location , close to major roads. All you needed for a super autumn break .

Lovely cottage!

Disappointingly we found that the property wasn't very clean. I think that a good deep clean is required. At the end of the garden is a busy lane and a small industrial unit which was noisy during our stay. There were lot of vehicles coming and going at the front of the property. Good access to main roads for travelling to places of interest in Cornwall, and within walking distance of St Columb Major for shops and the Ring O Bells pub, which does excellent food. Otherwise not much else within walking distance. We did walk to Mawgan Porth and Castle an Dinas, but each of these were twelve mile round trips on average. The grounds are pretty to walk around. The cream tea and flowers were a lovely touch, thank you.

Beautiful accommodation in a wonderful location - we love to travel to Cornwall out of season when it’s a little quieter and although this year was busier (due to COVID and more ‘staycations’), the beaches of North Cornwall are so big that we still escaped the crowds!

Had a wonderful week, the cottage was perfect, perfect location and we made good use of the swimming pool and play area!

The cottage was the best we have stayed in. Great location for exploring all of Cornwall. The grounds are great for exercising the dog. The cottage is very comfortable with everything you could want including towel, blanket and bowl for the dog.

We love this part of North Cornwall, so many lovely beaches, towns and villages to explore but in November when the weather can be wild it’s so nice to come back to lovely accommodation and get cosy and warm with the fire going and simply relaxing with a good book! Heaven!

The stables is one of the best places we have ever stayed in will definitely be back.

Classic Cottages make the whole process of booking a holiday so easy. We had a fantastic New Year's holiday and would highly recommend the cottage we stayed in.

Great cottage in a good location. We throughly enjoyed our Christmas here relaxing in front of the wood burner. Good dog friendly property as all on one level and enclosed garden. Good size property for 4 people. We will definitely look to come back

A cosy but spacious cottage with the most amazing wood burner to keep you warm on a cold winters night.

The Stables exceeded all expectations! So tastefully decorated and furnished, and such attention to home comforts as well as being spotlessly clean. The level of equipment was second to none (even providing a dog towel and blanket - much appreciated). It is probably the best cottage we have visited in 30 years! (just sorry we forgot to write in the visitors book, please pass on our compliments)

Lovely stay, a real home from home.

This is a wonderful spacious, stylish and extremely comfortable cottage, fitted and furnished to a very high spec. We have had an amazing time here as well as coming back with inspiration on how we'd like to improve our own home. The Trewan Hall estate is beautiful - you couldn't wish for better.

Superb cottage, the website is very truthful. The garden was great for the dogs as it was secure, we have fairly large dogs. Great location for exploring the local area.

Amazing cottage, with everything you need for a perfect holiday

An architectural masterpiece and marvelously equipped. Warm and cosy and clean. Very dog friendly as long as you keep an eye on them in the garden as potentially they can jump the fences. Also though we brought our own ramp it was excellent for my disabled husband as it is very open and spacious. (He could not use the shower/bath though which is worth disabled people knowing - this did not bother us for a few days) It was a very relaxing place to stay and I don't find most cottages for rental are. Highly recommended.

The Stables is more than a home-from-home; beautifully decorated, clean and spacious. Safe back garden for our visiting grandchildren and our dog, who loved it. We loved it so much we're coming back next year, can't say more than that!
