The Newstead
Nestled in the pretty rural coastal village of Crantock, just a five minute walk from the large sandy beach, with its traditional village pubs, cute cafes and pretty village centre; this absolutely divine house is a fabulous retreat for family and friends deserving of an extra special holiday. The Newstead has been lovingly converted into a gorgeous detached holiday homestay – where luscious interiors and a warm welcome await you and the most amazing sea views from the top floor.
Step through the front door into a light and airy hallway. Downstairs you are treated to an open plan living area which is most definitely the heart of the home. With a large sumptuous sofa and a wood-burning stove to keep you toasty on cooler evenings, it is the perfect spot for evenings in with a book, or cuddled up watching a film on the Smart HD television. On sunny days, the living-room creates a great shady escape with sliding doors opening onto the sunny decked terrace. The kitchen/dining area is fully equipped with all mod-cons and is the perfect place to relax and cook up that feast there isn't time for at home. For more formal dining you have a separate dining-room which has doors leading out onto a separate terrace. Comfortably seating eight, the table has been thoughtfully situated to take in the garden view. A utility-room off the kitchen has everything needed to make this feel like a true home-from-home. There's superfast fibre broadband and there are Sonos music speakers in the sitting, kitchen and dining areas.
At the rear of the property you are treated to a relaxing sauna and top of the range cinema room if you fancy a change of scene. The cinema room has a 65'' UHD television and a games console/DVD player and is the ideal retreat both for children and adults to escape to. A Netflix subscription is included on both TVs.
The four boutique-style bedrooms are set over the two top floors and have each been individually styled and furnished to the highest of standards. The main bedroom on the first floor has a gorgeous super-king bed complete with super-stylish en suite shower-room. The second and third bedrooms (also on the first floor) are both 'zip and link' beds which can be made up as plush super-king size beds or roomy twins. You decide. Take the stairs up to the third floor and be prepared to be bowled over! This room oozes style and glamour with exotic plants, luxurious velvet seating and, at the far end of the room, a king-size bed. On a clear day you can see the sea, so sink back into the sofa and dream away!
The contemporary, bath and shower rooms are both located on the first floor and are the perfect places to unwind after a day at the beach or walking the coast.
Outside, the decked patio-area provides the ideal spot for you to enjoy an al fresco meal, barbecue or perhaps just rest and enjoy some quality family time. Just off the road and very centrally located, The Newstead is in a perfect position for you to soak up the hustle and bustle of the summer months or wallow in the laid-back atmosphere of the quieter winter ones.

Mr O'Brien
Great cottage, great location and great beaches.Kids loved games room and easy to walk to beaches and pubs as parking near the beaches is a nightmare unless you are super early. Good local bus service if you want to walk to Newquay using the tidal bridges and hop on the bus back. Crantock beach is lovely with takeaway coffees and ice creams but can be crowed. Porth Joke is lovely. Easier parking, unspoilt (no facilities or coastguard ) and a short walk down from the C Spa and Bowgie Inn. Highly recommended. 2nd time we have stayed at the cottage. Nice fireplace and TV fully loaded with Netflix, Prime, Disney plus etc so just log on to use.
Mr Hampton
A well equiped luxury property with advantage of sauna and cinema room but parking a bit limited . A short drive, or a 12 minute walk, to two excellent beaches.

Excellent location
Mrs Blackden
The Newstead was a fabulous, spacious, well-equipped and very comfortable house and base for a family holiday. Loved the open-plan living area and garden and the younger members of our group really enjoyed the cinema room (as well as appreciating the good wifi!) Great location for coastal walks and not far from Padstow etc. We love Crantock and all it has to offer, most especially the beach. Can't think of anywhere else we'd rather go on holiday!
Mrs Allen
We had a fantastic holiday. The house was perfect and we will return.
Dr Merrill
This is probably the best equipped accommodation we have used in Cornwall over a period of many years. It is spacious, with a private garden and sauna. There are local amenities (cafe, pubs, coastal paths and beaches) easily accessible on foot. There is also easy access to points in north and south Cornwall.
Mr O'Brien
The Newstead is in a great location, within walking distance to everywhere we wanted and regular buses if needed. Local pubs were good and the family loved their rooms, the games room and sauna. Crantock beach is a short walk downhill and attractions like Dairyland 15-20 mins away. The Newstead is suitable for holidays year round with a cosy fire and south facing garden, outside dining area and sun decks. Would love to stay again in the beautiful part of Cornwall. An amazing week.
Mrs Brazier
A lovely house for 2 families. Everything we needed for our holiday. We were even able to make a birthday cake and ice it, piping bag and everything!! Lots of games and dvds. Lovely garden, very sheltered, a sun trap. The beds were the comfiest we have ever ever! had in a holiday cottage. 4 showers (including the one in the sauna room.) The cinema room and sauna were great although we hardly used them as we were at the beautiful beach most of the time. About a 15min walk. We were two families with 2 large cars (Volvo and discovery) we parked close together and there was room for us both in the front car parking space. Thought I’d mention this as I was a bit worried about parking. I would highly recommend this house. ?? Crantock village is lovely with everything you need, shop, 2 x pubs & coffeehouse/pizza place, fish and chips are 5 mins drive away in Cubert. Facilities at the beach are great too . ???
Mrs Ottley
We spent Xmas at The Newstead for our wedding in St Austell. The house met all our expectations and was fabulous for our needs over the Xmas break. Crantock is one of our favourite places in Cornwall and is a stone throw away from the house. Would love to return but would be pricey just for the 2 of us
Mrs Austin
Excellent property, great location, close to beach and local amenities.
Mrs Walker
A lovely spacious house which ticked all our boxes. Crantock beach beautiful a dog walking paradise
Mrs Munday
Really pleased with our stay at The Newstead. We were two families of 4 with 2 dogs. We had so much space and had a great stay. The kids loved the cinema room and the adults the sauna! Crantock bay is wonderful. We ventured out a couple of times to Newquay and Padstow, but preferred the beach day at Crantock. Walking back up the Sandy slope at the beach is a killer, but a great workout for the calf’s and thighs!!
Mr Cox
Great location for this very comfortable and well equipped holiday home, with the bonus of a sauna and cinema room. Lovely to find such a great dog friendly and baby friendly property in Crantock, especially as the beach is ideal for both to enjoy.
Mrs Thornley
This house is really well positioned for walking access to lovely walks across the National Trust Common and great beaches, whilst being tucked away from the crowds. Facilities are fantastic for one large family or two families of 4 sharing. Decor is light, bright and modern. This is a great place to stay.
Miss Lee
The house was fantastic but so let down by dust around the TV cupboard. Dust on wooden floor around sofa & in kitchen. Dribble of washing up liquid in kitchen & utility. 1 dishwasher tablet. Cooking pots & pans should be replaced they’re greasy & dirty. Have taken photos I have had many a year with Classic cottages & this was disappointing & such a shame it let down this beautiful home
Mrs Lamb
The house was satisfactory but looked tired and needs some attention. Drawer space in the main bedroom and top bedroom were lacking. One window in the main bedroom would not open and was mentioned in the damages book by someone else but still did not open. My grandson pushed a toy under the sofa when I went under the sofa to retreive it it was very mucky! I wanted to let you know these issues as we rent houses and unless anyone mentions it you do not find out.
Mrs Kirsch
We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at The Newstead and would certainly consider staying here again! The property was extremely well equipped and well thought out - a real home from home. The location was perfect for us and our dog - 5 minutes walk to the local pubs & shop, plus 5 mins walk to a footpath leading down to the coastal path and beach. Plenty of other amenities a short drive away and easy access to the other attractions of N.Cornwall. Regarding the Covid-19 situation and measures taken to ensure safety - the house was very clean and we felt safe from Covid-19 in both the house and local pubs - all very well organised.
Mrs Blackburn
The Newstead is in a good location close to the village and the beach. The property was spacious with room for all the family, very well laid out, decorated to a high standard and well equipped. We had a lovely holiday and would certainly consider holidaying here again.
Mrs Smith
Even better than the description. Very helpful housekeeper. The top floor had amazing views as far as Watergate Bay. Everyone could have their own space. Beach equipment excellent.
Mrs Cutler
Beautiful house in lovely village. Very convenient for beaches and coastal walks.
