A fantastic property in a wonderful location. The property exceeded all our expectations and we have already booked our next visit.

This cottage is stunning and huge! Spotless, home from home comforts, dog friendly, perfect location. We will be back!

A beautiful house. thank you Jo for looking after us. We have been here twice before this and love the layout and the fact that everyone has their own shower room. It’s a must. The kitchen is very well equipped and cooking a Christmas dinner for 11 was no problem at all. I loved the pantry. The two lounges make it lovely in a large group. People can spread out. Proximity to the beach is amazing with the dogs. Early morning walks were wonderful. Lesley and family.

This was our second visit to The Malt House and hopefully not our last. It is a lovely home, with plenty of space for large families. There is a real community feeling in the village and everyone is very welcoming to visitors. The housekeeper is amazing and so helpful. And of course, the area is stunningly beautiful.

Fulfilled all our party of 10s needs fully. Recycling a little confusing but that’s true everywhere. Housekeeper very helpful and friendly. Pubs very close and lively til closing time but that was ok for our adult party. Buses a bonus but a little unreliable due to excessive holiday traffic. Give yourselves plenty of time if you are booked elsewhere out of village you may not make it in time.

Couldn’t recommend this cottage more highly. Having stayed in many holiday homes, this one is certainly up at the top. Its location is perfect for the beach, walks and having two pubs a few doors down the street is also particularly welcome after a long day taking in all the surrounding beaches and walks.

Very spacious property. Good location in Crantock. Parking and manoeuvring is a challenge with just two medium sized cars. Access to kitchen is down several deep steps so care is needed with very young children and toddlers. Very helpful housekeeper. The Sunday changeover (our first) was great for travelling.

Spent our family Christmas 23 here - 10 adults and 3 hounds! Absolutely brilliant stay. Comfortable, clean, super cosy and well equipped. Decorated for Christmas with an amazing tree and tasteful decs. Christmas dinner was a breeze with 2 ovens, large hob, etc. Great dining table for 10. Pubs next door, the beautiful church 2 mins walk and of course the beach so so close. Managed to park 3 cars on the off road space - this time of year you can park around the village as long as you do not block the regular double decker bus! Christmas in Crantock is great. A real community feel with all the cottages decorated, lit up and a great display on the central green. Missing this place already!

This is a lovely house in a perfect situation. Friendly village with amenities on hand, and a short walk to a perfect beach for all the family. Jo the housekeeper is a gem and nothing is too much trouble for her. We have already booked for next year.

If you need a large house a few minutes away from the beach this is for you.

Just come back from a lovely stay at the malt house , very large and spacious with bathrooms in every bedroom which is a great help .Location is great, house keeper very nice lady , some of the furniture could do with modernising but still very good .Would definitely book again my only gripe is that you can only book for a week .

Had a wonderful stay at the malthouse. Very comfortable and well equipped, very good having two fridges with so many people, and plenty of seating. Fab location with beach within walking distance and two pubs literally next door. Nice walk on cliff to the Bowgie inn and C- bay bistro. Also had lovely weather,Good time had by all.

Great location, picture perfect traditional cottage, lots of room for our family, ensuite bathrooms a bonus. House was sparkling clean and well equipped, nice outdoor area and BBQ. Housekeeper local and friendly, really appreciated the communications before and during our holiday.

Lovely cottage a great size for the family Kitchen has everything you need, The village shop is well equipped, two pub’s And the jam jar takeaway , Beach is around 5/7 minutes walking We had a perfect time 10/10

Great place to stay in as a group. Comfortable, well equipped and a log burner which we loved to sit around in the evening. We liked the old features and quirkiness of the place. The beds were particularly comfortable! The Jam Jar a great little place, 2 minute walk from the Malt House, to grab a coffee and cake or homemade pizza in the evening. The Old Albion Pub highly recommended too, best to book if a larger group. Definitely would stay again.

Beautiful cottage for all the family & extended family. Plenty of space for everyone to find somewhere for themselves (if needed!)

At our 3rd attempt to stay here because of covid, we had a great week, weather was exceptionally kind to us, my grandson loved the beach & space in the cottage. Walking distance to shop, cafes & local pubs & great walks on doorstep

Lovely and genuinely interesting property in a lovely location. Very spacious - great for larger parties. Presented well in a basic but honest way, sympathetic to the style of the building. We were a little disapointed by the games room, failing to take literally the description saying it was aimed at younger visitors. Jo, the housekeeper, is great. Quickly resolving an issue with the house early on in our visit. We are looking forward to returning to the same property later this year.

Typically delightful cottage in a perfect location to explore crantock and the headlands around. Easy walk to the beach and lovely pubs nearby all dog friendly. Bedrooms are comfortable and well equipped with plenty of space each room having a lovely en-suite. Living spaces are good but the games room is pointless. Pool table with a clear bow in the base. Table football that the youngest won everytime depending on which end of the table you go to for the roll and a dart board with bent darts. Tumbledrier was excellent, got lots of use! Kitchen is all a little tired, dishwasher was useless, pre washing required and the hottest longest wash to ensure it was clean. Knives with chunks out of the blades but overall the equipment was good. Would benefit from a pizza slice. If you’re intending pizza at jam jar go super early, they ran out of dough on our first visit and second we couldn’t get takeaway we had to sit in. Not ideal with 3 dogs we didn’t want to leave unattended in the property. No reflection on the house, but a consideration if you’re intending to go. Overall we love crantock and the house is in the perfect location. Parking is super tight if you’ve got 3 large cars, but it’s off road and free.

The Malt House is a fabulous place to cook, relax and entertain our large family - especially at Christmas. We had a fabulous time. We met the owners - who were lovely and went out of their way to ensure we had a fantastic stay - as did Jo the housekeeper. All in all - we would return in a heartbeat.

A great cottage for a large group - lots of space and well equipped

Our second time at at The Malthouse. Despite covid restrictions, it did not spoil our stay. Lovely house and we all enjoyed our stay. Would definitely use again.

The Malt House is a very spacous, and well equipped house. We loved the fact that each bedroom had its own bathroom and the games room was a hit with our Teenagers. The lovely courtyard garden with BBQ, was well used during our stay. There's good access (a short walk) to Crantock beach, which is lovely, and 3 Pubs/cafes a 2 minute walk away, which we also enjoyed. I would certainly recommend, we had a great stay.

The house is beautifully positioned in the middle of the village with just a short walk down to the beach. Having an ensuite for all the bedrooms is so good too when families come together to enjoy a holiday.

Lovely cottage so great for the whole family it was well equipped the men loved the games room We all had enough space to do our own things . My grandchildren were in there element with all the space . Lovely easy walk to beach with the dog and so nice to be a stones throw from the pub . We had the perfect family holiday

A warm and spacious characterful cottage made for a wonderful gathering of all the family, including 3 dogs and new baby. Super convenient for pub, Jam Jar cafe, beach, coastal footpath and shop/PO - everything we needed for a winter week away! Thank you!

The Malthouse is a fantastic house in a great location. It provides everything you need for a relaxed stay with a mixed aged group. It’s clean, comfortable and homely. The en-suite rooms are a real bonus. It’s our second stay and we would not hesitate to recommend it and return.

The Malthouse was a lovely place to stay, location right in the centre of the village, 1 min from the shop, 1 min from the pub, 10 min walk to the beach. Parking was good, enclosed garden for the dogs brilliant, amount of space & seating downstairs fantastic, bedrooms were all spacious and own en-suites were plenty big enough. Jo the housekeeper/Manager was very helpful & informative, house was spotlessly clean. Could not fault anything at all. Will definitely look to book the same cottage again in the future.

Perfect place to relax. So much to enjoy from the doorstep. House was perfectly clean and very well equipped. Our stay at The Malt House was perfect from the moment of arrival. Wonderful house in an amazing location providing everything we wanted from our holiday. Thank you, we have already rebooked!

Beautifully clean & a lovely welcome on arrival ( plus 2 lovely cakes & milk for tea) Loved the house .So near to the lovely beach, with free National Trust member parking. Shop, very local and pubs. Bus on the doorstep, so handy for Newquay, if did not want to drive. Parking at house, was ok, but as was said, 2large, or 3 very medium. In off season, parking available very near. Curry night at a local pub, very well attended. House was very comfortable and warm. Large party, not on top of each other Suitable for all times of the year. Nice bbq and tables with pretty enclosed paved garden .Very homely feel, loved the open fire with rain beating down a lot of the week we were there !

This is our 6th consecutive year at the Malt House. We think it's a lovely spacious home and wonderfully dog friendly. Excellent location.

The Malt House is ideal for a large family or group. Plenty of space and facilities for everyone, including the dogs! The property was warm and welcoming when we arrived and had everything we needed for a family holiday, from enough pots and pans in the kitchen to beach toys and belly boards! Lovely walks over the dunes to the beach (better than down the road). Enough parking for the three cars, just be sensible. Thank you to Jo the housekeeper for excellent communication and helpfulness. Overall a lovely property and location for a Cornish holiday.

The Malt House is a fantastic place to stay. Three generations of our family spent a lovely week there at Christmas. The house is charming and very well equipped but homely enough that you aren't worried about having small children running around. Being right in the village, with two good pubs and an excellent village shop and lovely walks on the doorstep, makes it an great choice for a holiday all year round. The kitchen has everything needed for a large group of people with plenty of fridge and freezer space a large hob and two ovens. All the bedrooms are lovely - all ensuite - and there was always plenty of hot water. Even with eleven of us there it felt like there was more than enough room for everyone. Thank you for the warm welcome - the wood burner was going and there was wine and cake waiting for us.

Lovely clean cottage and well equipped, situated right in the heart of Crantock village. We were lucky enough to be there on the night of the bale push, most entertaining. Ideal for dog walkers with beautiful beaches within short walking distance. Car parking is the compromise, we were able to obtain parking permits at the village hall for the duration and for a fee, which is donated to a charity.

The cottage is perfect for a large group of family or friends, with the 5 en-suite bedrooms. The village pubs, shop and beach are within easy reach and the walk along the cliff from Crantock to Holywell is amazing, as are the sunsets from the beach. There is so much to see and do in the area and the cottage is a welcome and comfortable 'home' in the evening. The kitchen has everything needed to cater for a large group and we would return to this cottage again. Thank you.

Amazing family cottage would recommend to all had all you needed and more lovely welcome Cakes ?? milk etc which was very nice coal logs kindling wood paper and matches towels all supplied Bucket spades beach stuff all in the games room for your use

The Malt House is a beautiful property with so much space for a large family or group of friends to enjoy a holiday. It has a great wow factor but instantly feels like home. Everything we needed and didn't want to leave.

The perfect holiday home in a gorgeous village location. The house is beautiful and has everything and more for a large group. The beach is less than a 10 minute walk away. Two village pubs and a small shop within in a minute walk away. Newquay is a 15 minute drive. Lovely walk across the headland to The Bowgie Inn which has amazing views of Crantock Beach. We rebooked for next year while there! Once you’ve stayed in Crantock you won’t go anywhere else.

A spacious and comfortable property to suit all generations. We took our children and grandchildren and everyone just loved the house. The location is superb, just a few minutes to the beach and less to a pub and well stocked shop. An ideal place from which to explore Cornwall and then come back to relax with space for everybody. The owners welcomed us and we felt they genuinely wanted us to enjoy our staff there.

A large but cosy cottage in a tranquil pretty village just minutes from some of the best beaches and scenery in Cornwall. Ideal for both walkers and beach lovers.

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at The Malt House. It provides a comfortable base in which to enjoy a multi-generational family holiday. Lots of space and very well equipped. The location is superb, both locally and further afield. To be able to walk to a beautiful beach, public house, village store and cafe ticks all the boxes.

Wifii and mobile access very patchy - probably as expected for a character cottage in a small village. Parking an issue for a house for 10 people with more than 2 cars attending.

Great place for different generations fantastic beach, great for walking, and a good bus link to Newquay it was never late and a late bus back to Crantock from Newquay if you wanted to go out would definitely use again and stay in Crantock

Sand dunes, colourful caves, a beach to die for and waves out of this world. Then there's the Malthouse - a haven to return to after a great day. Comfort, brilliant kitchen and the best sitting room ever. I dare you to stay awake after 9.00pm!

The Malt House is a wonderful holiday home which has been converted from a derelict barn (check out the book of restoration photographs!). We had a wonderful week in mid June with (five adults, three very young children and a dog) and we fell in love with the place. Everything you will need is here, from the well appointed kitchen, lovely bedrooms and bathrooms, BBQ in the enclosed and private patio area, and of course the games room, complete with sloping pool table.. Parking space is limited - it's fine for two cars but three would be a squeeze. There is no other parking available. There are two lovely pubs literally less than a minutes walk away (we preferred the Cornishman) and Crantock beach is less than ten minutes walk from the cottage. The local store is great and well stocked - try the pizzas - and the village of Crantock is such a great place to unwind. I would recommend the Malt House to anyone - you won't regret it!

A lovely cottage right in the middle of the village - 2 mins from the store. Luxurious but comfortable - and the courtyard garden is perfect in the sunshine.

We've been in the Malthouse for the third time and will come back next year. The Malthouse leaves nothing to be desired. Excelent location, pubs and store just two steps away. Easy access and short way to the beach.

Lovely old house with lots of character. Choice of living room space meant family members could do their own thing, which is important when there is a large group of varying ages. Everyone was happy and all would return given the opportunity.

It's a wonderful house with plenty of room for everyone to relax in. So well equipped and with 2 excellent pubs and well stocked shop/post office a short walk away. A short walk too to the beach and River Gannel, which is so safe for children to play in the pools when the tide has gone out. And mustn't forget the Cosy Nook Cafe - cream teas and ice cream sundaes to die for!!

An annual summer week at the Malt House is almost a timeless entry in the family calendar. The levels of comfort, attention to detail and overall ambience of the property are unique and of the highest standard. Further, the owners are most kind and accommodating. I am sure we will make a booking for next year once we have firmed up on dates. As an addendum, I frequently come across a book of interest on the Malt House shelves and buy a copy for myself on our return home. This year was no exception.

A magnificent accommodation within ten minutes walk to the most beautiful beach. Three generations all loved it ( for different reasons obviously)!!

Fantastic location in small village. The Malt House is just 30 second walk to two pubs and a general store and only 10 minute walk to the beautiful beach. Newquay is just a ten minute drive. The cottage is large enough for you all to sit together and has room for you to also have some time to yourself. The beds and sofa areas are comfy and homely and the kitchen has everything you could need. A lovely cream tea (and some doggy snacks) made by the owner were there when we arrived which was a lovely touch and the scones and jam were delicious! My one negative is that it could be cleaner.

I have run out of superlatives in describing the Malt House and its owners. The former is quite the most perfect holiday home we have ever stayed in, including UK, Europe, North America. The latter are most kind and thoughtful: I consider it an immense privilege to be able to stay in their delightful and fascinating Malt House.

This is a fantastic house for a large party. There is masses of room for everyone and all their equipment. We loved the comfy sofas and fire, so nice on chilly evenings (in August). All the bedrooms having their own bathrooms was brilliant! It was great to have a big enough table (both inside the house and in the garden) for us all to sit round. All in all a great house in an idyllic location. Nobody staying at the Malt House could fail to love being there.

Lovely old building in a lovely location, but cleanliness needs to be better and a downstairs toilet would be a great addition. Better lighting would be a benefit too in the main living room and in some of the bedrooms. The main bathroom was lovely and light.

A delightful cottage in a pretty Hamlet .There is easy access to Newquay.The cottage is well equipped and has practical layout for a great holiday.
