Chy Goff
Set down a Cornish country lane, detached Chy Goff is a pretty stone cottage that sits perfectly in tune with its surroundings. Steps lead down to the garden and entrance; inside, it's full of simple charm and home-from-home informality.
Character exudes from the slate-flagged floors and beamed ceilings, a green Aga complementing the rustic feel. The kitchen leads to the sitting/dining-room, which has a multi-burner, satellite TV from which you can access your Netflix account and French doors opening out to the sheltered garden.
From the sitting/dining-room, a step takes you to a small study and a shower-room. Traditional cottage stairs lead to the bedrooms and bathroom, which enjoy countryside views. Outside, the small garden has a little stream, and extends to a rear patio that catches the evening sun.

Mr Cavanagh
Another return visit to this cottage has passed and once again, I find myself feeling a little reflective and sad to leave…and in truth, for so many varied reasons. How three weeks do pass, in the twinkling of an eye, when you’re having such a lovely time…. This is ‘the perfect escape’ from all the cares and worries of life as one is transported into a place of soulful retreat. A cosy Cornish cottage, nestling amidst the trees, meadows and woodlands on a Cornish country lane. Its perfect as a base from which to explore the craggy coves and the rocky coastlines of Cornwall and North Devon. For nearby sandy beaches you’re, very frankly, spoiled for choice. Camelford is a beautiful small town/village built of Cornish stone and set upon and between a number of convergent hillsides. Tintagel, Boscastle, Padstow and Port Isaac are but a short journey away by car. The cottage itself has a ‘magic’ all of its own which beguiles the unwary traveller, very much more in the actual experience of, than in the telling…. The log burner set in the old stone surround is as ‘cosy and warm’ comes as ‘warm and cosy’ goes. Brimming with the warmth of Cornish expression and overflowing with characterful integrity and charm, on so many levels, this really is a wonderful place within which to to have a wonderful time. Waxing lyrical, I may very well be in the writing of this review, I admit with a smile…but not, in the matter of Chy Goff, without cause, just and true. As good as it gets….. Chy Goff is a very warm and cosy cottage a home from home. If you enjoy walking you can walk for miles along the river and up onto the moors. You can easily get to lots of towns and the camel trail to Padstow and Bodmin is easy to get to from Wadebridge.
Mrs Meyer-Bothling
Very cosy well equipped cottage. Comfortable beds. The single beds are also suitable for adults. Well located for getting around.
Mrs Barnes
We enjoyed our week in this cosy well equipped cottage. Definitely a home from home. A peaceful setting, and yet good for traveling around North Cornwall.
Mr Fulcher
Chy Goff was up to its usual high standard, and we picked the right week weather-wise, not more can be said, excellent! Out and about Rowes Bakery as you go into Bodmin does some marvellous breakfast fayre, sausage swirl, 3 rashers of bacon in a big bun for the unbelivable price of £2.77!! The Ham/Cheese Croissant bun is Tina's favourite. We also found Haywood Cider Farm at St. Mabyn, they'll blend the scrumpy to your taste out of the wood barrel or do bottled sparkling. Another great weeks stay at Chy Goff.
Mrs Freeman
A cosy cottage, perfect for our family of four and dog. Ideally located for the north Cornish coast.
Mr Cavanagh
This is a wonderful characterful, cosy Cornish cottage set on a wooded country Lane near a very old fashioned and rather beautiful Cornish town/village. In so many ways, it’s just perfect. I went for three weeks last October, and for three weeks once more this October, and I’ve already booked the same three weeks again for next October. …facts which in themselves speak with greater resonance than a thousand words can tell…. Thank you so very much
Mrs Thomas
Beautiful cottage in a quiet spot. Loved the Aga and fire. Well equipped kitchen.
Mr Fulcher
Another great holiday at Chy Goff, every thing you needed inside and out, location ideal for touring, but only minutes from the coast. Within 1 minute you go from idyllic countryside to a main road, no getting stuck in a Cornish lane! We've already reserved for next year. One of our favourite places to stay.
Mrs Syson
Church Goff was an amazing find. Great location, very peaceful with amazing views out of every window. We felt very safe, warm and cosy. Would definitely book again.
Miss Gaulter-Carter
A perfect country escape! A lovely little cottage that felt very peaceful, homely and cosy. We loved it and would highly recommend to others.
Miss Pickworth
We had a lovely time at Chy Goff. It is so peaceful yet close enough to Camelford if you need anything. The peckish fish and chip shop is excellent. The cottage has a super king-size bed which was very comfortable. We needed to contact the housekeeper as the heating settings are locked away under the stairs and my little boy was cold in the night. She came around right away and changed the heating settings for us. After that it was lovely and cosy. It has everything you need. Umbrellas, ice packs, first aid kit and lots of bags of logs for the fire (£5 a bag) in the shed. We had a great holiday.
Mr Webb
One of the best cottages for dog owners. Very comfortable and ideally placed for visiting most places in Cornwall. We enjoy staying here.
Ms Wynne-Jones
We enjoyed a short break at Chy Goff and found the location quiet but not too far from local attractions. The aga and the efficient radiators kept the cottage warm for us to return to in the evening. The walk in the park by the river was perfect for the dog in the evening. We found everyone locally very friendly and enjoyed a meal in the Masons Arms and coffee in the cafe. A charming well-equipped cottage with lots of games and puzzles in the study for rainy days.
Mrs Parker
This was a lovely cottage and the location was just right for walking into Camelford with our dog to the shops, the butchers were really friendly as was the pasty shop half way up the hill( look out for the yellow window frames), in fact everyone was friendly and there were some local walks so a few days we didn’t even use our car. We would certainly book again.
Mr Webb
Excellent position and great location for visiting any where in Cornwall and North Devon. Beginning to look sad inside. Lovely garden which is secure for the dog.
Miss Lintner
An absolutely amazing, beautiful cottage with everything you need. Very comfortable bed and amazing cooking on the Aga. Lovely and warm and feel very safe and secure. A fantastic location in a beautiful setting. Very relaxing.
Mr Fulcher
We had another great stay at Chy Goff, every thing you needed or wanted was there. Only thing missing was hot water when the emersion gave up the ghost on the bank holiday Monday! That said Gemma the house keeeper and Penny the owner dealt with it quickly and showers were soon back on. Hope to return to this wonderful cottage soon.
Miss Thorley
We loved the cottage, it was beautiful and very comfortable. Camelford is a great place to stay too, easy access to loads of places which are also doggy friendly!!
mr Hayward
A charming Cornish cottage in a lovely quiet lane perfect !
Mrs Cooper
Camelford is a great place to start your exploration of Cornwall. It has enough local amenities to make it easy to enjoy. It is a small gateway to the rest of Cornwall.
Mrs Bailey-Williams
Lovely cottage. Excellent base and so peaceful. Garden not as big as we thought or indeed pictures portrayed but big enough. Well equipped and off road parking.
Mr Lemonius
Delightful chocolate box rural cottage within easy walking distance of the town of Camelford. Well placed for exploring the North Coast of Cornwall and Bodmin Moor. Our third visit here and we’re pleased to see some improvements to the cottage such as new bed and bathroom upgrade. Garden was immaculate and very dog friendly. Comes well recommended.
Mr Webb
This is one of the best cottages. It is full of character, beamed ceilings, flagstones, everything an old cottage should be. It is wonderfully located in Camelford, fish and chips, pasties and many pubs and cafes in the local area. The garden is dog friendly and there are easy morning walks in the local park straight from the cottage.
Mrs Bowditch
A fun, cosy comfortable cottage very handy for a walk into town and a good centre for various attractions. The nearby Farm shop with cafe was a bonus and within easy walking distance. Sadly the award winning fish and chip shop was shut as was the pub. We got our fish and chips in the end at the Port William pub at Trebarwith Strand. Excellent - and fantasic views. The co-op in Camelford sells newspapers and takes tokens. ( The Spar shop and garage don't take tokens).
Mrs O'Connor
A truly rustic ‘step back in time’ cottage rather like stepping into a National Trust property.
mrs howard
What a magical Christmas we had at Chy Geoff .the cottage was quaint charming, idlic ,romantic and just perfect. The views from the bedroom were a breath of fresh air and picturesque. The log burner was beautifully warming and cosy. Book it. You won’t be disappointed
Mrs Cooper
If you need a comfortable cottage near to all the beautiful beaches and harbours in North Cornwall you couldn't do better than Chy Goff.
Mr Fulcher
Once again no faults could be found with the cottage, a real home from home. New smart TV a great addition and the repositioning makes the layout of the lounge much better. There have been many jobs done around and in the cottage since last visiting, nice that the owners take such pride with their little gem. The cottage location is great for touring around Cornwall and back into Devon, we have rebooked for next year.
Miss Fothergill Carrington
This feels like a proper home, not just a holiday home
Mrs Gilkes
Beautiful and comfortable cottage. Great location for day trips. Fab fish n chips in the village. Quiet location and private sun trap in back garden. Has everything you need ??
Mrs Picknell
Chy Goff is a charming traditional Cornish cottage, a home from home! Ideally located to explore all the popular towns and beaches along the north coast plus easy access to Bodmin Moor and many lovely walks.
Mrs Fryatt
Very cosy cottage with a lovely walk close by.
Mr Webb
Excellent cottage with easy access to most of Cornwall's attractions, coast and moors. Very cosy and comfortable. Dog friendly safe garden with Camelford's Enfield park just a short walk from the cottage.
Mr Irvine
Very comfortable cottage in a great location. Well equipped and very clean. Full marks to the House Keeper. Home from home; can't wait to plan our next visit.

Great location & a very sweet little cottage.
Mrs Bishop
Beautifully equipped traditional cottage with a very private garden set in a peaceful location
Mrs Freeman
The cottage is cosy when it's cold outside and the garden is a sun trap when it's not. Perfectly located for the best of north Cornwall.
Mrs Allen
Chy Goff is a warm and welcoming, cozy cottage. The kitchen is well equipped (our dog loved the Aga!),the seating and beds are very comfortable and the shower is excellent. We enjoyed our walks along the river and the Camel trail. We highly recommend the Four Seasons cafe in Camelford, where dogs and humans are equally welcomed. Their delicious breakfast set us up for the journey home. Definitely a cottage to recommend.
Mr Gateley
Multiple visits. Lovely and well positioned cottage. Will visit again.
Mr Moser
Very nice cottage with history and a lot of space and even a little garden loved by our dog!
Mr Fulcher
Our 4th visit and another great holiday in this lovely character cottage. Our dog loved the garden and the aga in the kitchen. Ideally situated to explore the wonderful coast and moor.
Mrs Barnes
We had a wonderful week and Chy Goff was an excellent base, a home from home - we hope to stay there again.
Mrs Dowie
This is a lovely cosy cottage with lots of character. It is worth mentioning that I could not get a mobile signal (I use Vodafone) and guests cant ring out on the landline (except emergency services) generally I don't suppose it matters, but if you urgently need to contact someone you wont be able to phone from the cottage.
Mrs Cheshire
Nice cottage, lovely beds and Aga, needs an upgrade in some areas especially kitchen utensils.
Mr Packard
as said before: Very compfortable cottage. Greatly arranged. Lovely details. We felt very well there staying with two younger kids for a week over christmas. Also very well equipped kitchen. Very good beds and beddings. Good location too. Quiet outside the village but close enough to even walk there. Can't think of anything to be better. Would love to come back!
Mr Barker
Perfect location to relax and recharge, explore the North Cornish coast and rural area’s. A beautiful cosy, comfortable cottage, one we hope to return to.
Mr Hancock
Chy Goff is a really beautiful cottage, very quiet and peaceful. The far reaching views from the upstairs was stunning. The cottage is perfectly placed for days out visiting many places that were only a short drive away. All in all a wonderful place to stay.
Mr Styles
This is a very comfortable quaint cottage with plenty of space and in an excellent location for visiting North Cornwall.
Mrs Tompkins
Lovely cottage in excellent location for popular tourist attractions, beaches and walks
Mr Baxter
A very relaxing break in a character cottage with secluded dog friendly garden. Good amenities in Camelford, a ten minute walk away through wooded valley.
Mr Webb
Lovely warm and cosy cottage to come back home to after a day out exploring the wonderful Cornish coast and moors.
Mr Gateley
This is a lovely cottage at the edge of Camelford. Camelford has seen better days, we have been visiting on and off for 25 years, but has a great community feel about it but is well placed to explore the North Corwall coast and Bodmin Moor. The Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Helligan are not far away. Great fish and chips and an excentric pub producing enormous meals. Our dog loves the Arga!
Mrs Tummon
A charming cottage full of character. Extremely well equipped. Excellent location for exploring the nearby North Cornish coastline. Walking distance to Camelford high street where there are ample food and drink venues. A must is the breakfast served at the nearby farm shop!
Mrs Freeman
A gorgeous, cosy cottage loved by our family and dog.
Mr Leggett
Good location, very comfortable and easy access to the best parts of the North Coast.
Mrs Maydon
We cannot recommend Classic Cottages more highly. We've already booked for next year for our fourth year in a row! Claire the housekeeper was really lovely. We received a really warm welcome, the cottage was spotless on arrival and when we left, she even posted our dog bed (which we'd left behind) back to us the same day. We loved the tea/biscuits on arrival and even a tin of dog biscuits and dog bowls provided!
Mrs Plommer
Excellent location for exploring Cornwall, we visited a different place every day without travelling too far - 30 minutes top. Camelford is ideal to nip into for the basics you might need which you can get from SPAR and the butchers, otherwise not much else there but an excellent chippy, a friendly pint in the Mason's Arms and nice walk by the river. The cottage was our dream get-away and our dog loved the secure garden, we all had a fantastic holiday and can't wait to come back!
Mr Davies
We like staying at this property. Noisy pump in the shed when sitting outside.
Mr Walker
Fabulous place
Mrs Freeman
Our third visit here in four years because our family (and dog) love the cosy welcoming cottage and its fabulous location near the north Cornwall coastal path and beautiful National Trust gardens.
Mr Lemonius
A delightful dog friendly cottage, well located for the North Cornish Coast and Bodmin Moor. Well equipped. Locals friendly!
Mrs Barnes
A characterful cottage with excellent links to the north Cornish coast.
Mr Haworth
Has to have been the best cottage we have stayed in for many years. Great morning walk along the river for the dog and good postion for seeing plenty of Cornwall. The owners had thought of everything you could require in the way of kitchen utensils and we loved cooking on the Aga, the Mary Berry Aga book was an excellent aid.
Miss Williams
Perfect base to explore not just the North Cornish coast, but all over. You can even drive down to The Lizard in a little under 2 hours. Warm, comfortable and well equipped cottage, even has a tea cosy, not all cottages do!!!!! My 3rd visit, and will not be my last - a home from home.
Mr Phillips
Wonderful cottage quiet location and central for all the North Cornwall places to visit.
Mr Lenoir
Amazing cottage, very relaxing atmosphere. The fireplace was nice after long walks. The bedrooms were very comfy. Thank you for the welcoming tea and pain au chocolat.
Mrs Haywood
lovely stone cottage in an excellent location
Mr Buijs
what a superb cottage nearby the beautiful Cornish coast, the Bodmin Moor and many nice little villages on the ocean. Forget about Camelford although the Fish & Chips is great. Go for a walk (and lunch) from the farm shop just outside Boscastle over the coastal path heading east, outstanding. And on your way out, buy steak in the shop, unbelievably good. If you want to go out for supper on you first night, do not go to Camelford but go to Port William in Trebarwith Strand, nice place and what a view. And there is much more to discover in the area.
Mrs Laughton
Lovely cottage, very quiet. Dog walk nearby.
Mrs Mawford
The cottage was really lovely and had everything that we could possibly need, it was also very well situated for visiting the surrounding areas we were never board there was so much to do. We took our dog with us and Chy Goff has a lovely walk around the Camelford wildlife area just minutes from the cottages door ! Fabulous.
Mr Ellis
There was absolutely nothing we could have wished for in a holiday home from home!
Mr Green
We had a fabulous week again this year. Cottage is very comfortable and the new shower was a welcome improvement. We'd recommend the Masons Arms for dinner - appearances can be deceiving so give it a go...
Mrs Adkins
Lovely quiet location within easy reach of the Moor, beaches and many tourist towns and villages. The cottage was lovely and cosy, clean and well equipped.
Mr Rawlings
Location, period features and overall feel
Mr Tucker
This is in a perfect central position for visiting the iconic coasts & towns of Cornwall.
