House of Logs is a unique and stunning property located on the west coast of the Island, just a short walk from Widdick Chine and Totland Bay. Perfect for a peaceful holiday and dog friendly, the house is located on a quiet road opposite the entrance to the coastal path which runs through Headon Warren, a site of Special Scientific Interest, to Alum Bay and The Needles. Completely renovated by the current owner, this Norwegian built house makes a very special holiday destination with a charming interior and the most amazing smell of wood! Reverse level, there is a large enclosed balcony off the dining-room with steps down to a lawned garden which is a magnet for wildlife, including birds, red squirrels and badgers - appropriate food is provided. There is plenty of off street parking and as the house is built on a slope, there are several steps up to the front door and verandah.

The sitting/dining-room is warm and cosy with a multi-burner as the focal point. With an outdoor dining-table, the decked area is a wonderful place to relax with an afternoon cup of tea and a good book. The kitchen overlooks the garden and is very well appointed, with thoughtful touches in keeping with the Scandinavian theme, and a Tassimo coffee machine offering a delicious hot beverage throughout the day. Three of the four bedrooms are on this floor, with a large bathroom containing a bath and separate shower cubicle. All the bedrooms have been beautifully decorated and the bunk bedroom is sure to be a child’s delight.

The fourth double bedroom is on the ground floor, also with a Tassimo coffee machine ready to serve a fresh cup of morning coffee before stepping through the double doors to the terrace and rear garden. Wake up and let the sunshine in; there's no need to rush in the mornings. There is a second shower-room and separate WC on this floor making this an ideal property for guests to have their own space. Internal access to the garage is available on this floor; the perfect place to store bikes.

Ms Selby

A unique house which exceeded our expectations - it is even better in reality than in the photos and we would thoroughly recommend it. We had a very relaxing week in it. We enjoyed the inside and outside spaces of the house. There is very little passing traffic - it was like staying at an exclusive rural retreat with the added bonus of the coastal path and a beach on the doorstep. The bench on the front terrace was an ideal spot to sit with a book and a coffee whilst enjoying a view of the sea. There are many personal touches throughout the house and thoughtful extras such as the luxury toiletries and local tea, coffee and biscuits on arrival were very much appreciated. We were fortunate to stay during hot, sunny weather but feel sure the House of Logs would be just as welcoming during the colder months. This house would be an ideal place to enjoy a friends/family celebration and we would be very happy to return to it.

Mr Robilliard

Wonderful, peaceful location. Sunny position and charming log cabin. Could have done with some oven gloves and another tea towel but all in all no complaints at all. Very safe for our 3 little dogs. Will stay there again.

Mrs Rice

Fabulous location. Great walks, albeit quite steep, to Headon Warren and the beach. The property was spacious and clean. Comfortable sofas and beds. Plenty of hot water for showers and baths. The high quality ‘Welcome Pack’ was appreciated.

Mrs Yost

This is a well proportioned house for three generations to enjoy. It is located in a very quiet area with easy access to sea and the Needles in particular. It has a small garden and balconies to sit out on, which wasn't always possible as the weather was not the best, but when it was it was lovely to breakfast in the sun.

Mrs Taylor

We enjoyed our stay in what was a very different type of cottage to what we usually stay in. It should be noted that the down stairs king size room is reached down a very steep staircase and feels very cut off from the rest of the house. There was no WiFi in the downstairs bedroom but we managed with tethering our device to our mobile phone. We did manage to see a badger in the garden but the red squirrels proved elusive.

Mrs Money

The Log House was exactly as described on the website and we had a lovely and confortable stay here. We particularly loved seeing the red squirrels and the badger in the garden.

Mrs Clark

We enjoyed our stay. Very comfortable and spacious house. Plenty of off road parking. Lots of useful information about the island.

Dr Extance

A versatile property in great location - would happily stay here again if we came back to the IOW

Rev Gallagher

Excellent layout for three generations.

Mr McConnell

House of Logs is a quirky and unusual holiday home but has much to commend it and is very suitable for multi-generational groups. A lovely secluded garden plus the two areas of decking make it great in the good weather.

Mr Eldridge

A genuinely unique and very spacious property, located in one of West Wight's most attractive and unspoilt residential settings, just a short stroll from the sea and close to the Needles and beautiful south coast - but just 7 minutes' drive from picturesque Yarmouth and the ferry. For us it was the perfect choice.

Mrs Roberts

The House of Logs is an amazing property, sympathetically renovated by the owner. We would not hesitate in recommending the house to anyone wanting a peaceful place to stay, on the most beautiful side of the island.

Mrs Stewart

We had a lovely stay in House of Logs with friends and family to celebrate a special birthday. We dined at the Waterfront (really friendly and very nice food) and went on lots of long walks from the door. We enjoyed seeing the red squirrel in the garden in the morning. We hope to return.

Mrs Tubbs

The photos don’t do the house of logs justice. It’s a great place for a family holiday and easily catered for our 3 generations. Close to the beach and coastal walks. We had lovely weather which was great but the house was so warm that it would be a good place to stay in the colder months. Lovely to see the red squirrels in the garden too.

Mr Lee

Good property, quiet area! we enjoyed walking through to alum bay. And walk to sea front from property. Recommend.

Mrs Marshall

A beautiful, spacious house. Ideal for family stays. Well located for all parts of west of Isle of Wight, and close to Yarmouth ferry. Plenty of parking, but be practiced at hill starts! There are steps and stairs so not suitable for people with mobility problems.

Mr Flaherty

I enjoyed my stay but the accommodation needs upgrading and it's very drafty in the sitting room.

Ms KHANDIGE

It was an excellent stay for us and very comfortable too. Away from the crowd and very calm and quite location . Beach walk is not very far. Surroundings are very scenic and shops are close by. Backyard is always lively with red squirrels and birds. Very warm cozy and welcoming property . Would recommend this fully for any season. NANDINI KHANDIGE PETERBOROUGH

Mrs Gurney

We had a wonderful stay at the house of logs. It had everything we needed to feel completely at home, so much so it was hard to leave. The location was amazing, especially being able to take morning runs/walks along the beach.

Dr Brown

We had a fantastic time at the House of Logs. It was very well equipped, clean, in an excellent location, and the layout was perfect for several generations to share! We really enjoyed walking out to Alum Bay, The Needles, and Tennison Down straight from the house, and also enjoyed all the beaches nearby. Would definitely recommend.

Miss Kinmonth

If you want to stay in something different, this is the place, you won't find anything more alpine than this. It is cosy, has ample room to sleep 8 (even if they are all adults). We had a great week, only one rainy day, but plenty to play with, read, watch, Bagatelle was used every day. The garden is full of wildlife, red squirrels, various birds (sparrowhawk), and food is provided. Great location for walking, Needles, Alum Bay, Yarmouth, Freshwater Bay to name a few, the views are spectacular. There are a variety of pubs in the area as well, the Vine in Freshwater was spot on in every way. We hope to stay again.

Mrs Gerrard

The House of Logs has everything the perfect location with stunning views all around this beautiful island. The red squirrels came out to surprise us too! Plenty of relaxing walks & fabulous restaurants which all were top class on the doorstep which was an added bonus! The House was well equipped & very comfortable with recliner garden chairs added in too. I would say it was the House that kept giving & is perfect for family/friends get together all year round. Thank you so much for letting us stay in your beautiful House & stunning location. Trudi & the girls

Mr Curnuck

The quirky design of the property was very unique, the garden and outside space was good as was the parking space. The situation of the property was excellent, close to the ferry and the coastal path. good local facilities for eating and food shopping. The stairs to the downstairs bedroom were very steep, might not be suitable for some people! The downstairs bedroom could do with more draw space for clothes. The main lounge was very dark at night even with the lights on, could do with improving. The mattress in the downstairs bedroom could do with replacing.

Mrs Hughes

This is a great property if you enjoy watching wildlife in the garden, sitting by a cosy fire and having access to the costal path. We were a couple but could see how an extended family would enjoy a stay and children would love the bunk beds. Make sure you buy some logs on the way to the property, the Afton garden centre was really useful.

Mrs Tazzyman

This cottage is ideal for a family holiday with plenty of space and a garden for children to run around in. The location is great being a pleasant short stroll down to the beach, although the tides need checking as Totland has limited sand. There is also a lovely walk onto Headon Warren from the house which provides stunning views of the island. All three generations had a lovely time.

Ms Foston

Loved the house. Great stargazing from the terrace! Beautiful beach so close, excellent recycling facilities, fabulous separate downstairs area for my mum who came with us. I'd go back and I rarely say that!

Mr Pigott

This property exceeded our expectations! We all absolutely loved our holiday in House of logs! Beautiful, comfortable, great location for walks and seaside. Lots of homey touches, games and puzzles for children and adults. Children loved having food for squirrels and birds and fed them daily. Guides on where to find everything nad local shops was very useful. Birds Guide book was a hit with children too. Local leaflets also useful to plan time on isle of wight.

Mr Reed

A lovely place to stay where you can get a family or group together.

Mrs Curtis

We enjoyed a really super holiday at the House of Logs. Very nice, quiet location close to the footpath to Totland Bay. Our grandchildren really enjoyed swimming in the evening at the bay (like the locals), also one evening we barbequed on the beach which was great fun! House of Logs was spotlessly clean and had virtually every thing you could possibly want. I would certainly recommend it to family and friends.
