Sixpenny Barn

It was our first stay at Sixpenny Barn at Christmas, and the lovely owner provided a beautifully decorated tree and other decorations etc.,, even lights outside, it made it extra special for us. We very much enjoyed our stay, it was so nice to be away, and to be somewhere quiet.

What a wonderful property! Beautifully decorated with great attention to detail. A really thoughtful welcome card, flowers and basket, a lovely touch. A wonderful stay.

We had a wonderful stay at an outstanding cottage. We felt really comfortable and completely at home. We found some nice little presents and a welcome card on our arrival. That was a nice surprise we valued very much. Everything was absolutely spotlessly clean and the towels were super fluffy and smelled very nice. The surroundings were very nice and quiet. We can only warmly recommend a stay at Sixpenny Barn.

Great place to stay, spottlessly clean, nice furniture

We felt more than comfortable at Six penny Barn! Everything was clean, the decor bright, fresh and Nordic style, the kitchen had everything you need and the beds were very comfortable. I've definitely never been in such a nice holiday home, that's no exaggeration:-). Especially beautiful is the enclosed garden - an oasis. Sarah had provided a lot of helpful information and would have been available in case of emergency. Mulfra is located in a cul-de-sac and is therefore quiet and peaceful. Every once in a while a horse passes by. From the house there is a very hidden path into the moor and heathland. Many great sights can also be easily reached by car within 20-60 minutes.

This was our second stay at Sixpenny Barn, and everything was just as perfect as above. The addition of new furniture was a surprise, the attention to detail is fantastic. To be out every day and know that you're returning to such a lovely property really makes the holiday. A great base for travelling to various destinations, we can't wait for our next stay in September.

Geweldig huisje in een klein gehuchtje. Absolute rust en stilte, behalve dan van zoemende bijtjes en talloze vogels. Sixpenny Barn is met liefde en oog voor detail ingericht, net als de tuin. Er ontbreekt niets (behalve luie tuinstoelen ??). Ligging ideaal om aan beide zijden van de kust activiteiten te doen en delen van het Coastal Path te lopen. Aanrader voor mensen die houden van natuur en rust. Enorm genoten van deze plek! Great cottage in a small hamlet. Absolute peace and quiet, except for buzzing bees and countless birds. Sixpenny Barn has been decorated with love and attention to detail, just like the garden. Nothing is missing (except lazy lawn chairs ??). Location ideal for doing activities on both sides of the coast and walking parts of the Coastal Path. Recommended for people who love nature and tranquility. Enjoyed this place immensely!

An exceptional cottage in all ways. The most clean and comfortable we have ever stayed at. Excellent location for those who want to experience the unique character of this area rich in iron age settlements with an ancient quoit within easy walking distance. Great for walks and a retreat from workaday life.

It´s a real lovely and beautiful cottage with lots of space and light, really tasteful interior, perfect kitchenequipment and shower and a wonderful garden. Sixpenny Barn was by far the best property we have visited in a quiet peaceful location. It is very well equipped and tastefully furnished with luxury towels and bedding which all gave a home from home feel, everything we needed had been catered for. There is plenty of wardrobe and drawer space which for us was a bonus as it can be lacking in some properties. The garden was very pretty and it was lovely to sit outside with a coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. As soon as we walked into the barn we felt at home, we wished our stay could have been longer and would thoroughly recommend and hope to return again soon. Mr & Mrs Montgomery

Beautiful cottage in a peaceful hamlet.

Sixpenny Barn is a superb property, the owner has given great thought to the decor and attention to detail, and there is a pretty garden with a summerhouse. A welcome basket with some lovely goodies was much appreciated, and such a nice touch. The location is excellent for visiting lots of different places, a beach is not too far way, plus local amenities. We loved staying in the barn so much that we are returning next June and September, and we can't wait!

Lovely part of Cornwall to stay close to major roads but very quiet. Cottage excellent would go back again.

Immaculate cottage in a wonderful setting, perfect for a couple or for a family of 3, you do need a car to get about to see all the stunning sights. Everything you need is in the cottage from hairdryer to hoover, washing machine to full size cooker along with every kitchen utensil you can think of.

Beautifully furnished, comfortable and really well equipped, Sixpenny Barn was such a find. Up the lane to a small hamlet, it was wonderfully peaceful, with a bridleway leading to some lovely walks. The garden was delightful for that early morning coffee and the garden room perfect if it was a little chilly. Ideal location for exploring the amazing local beaches (Porthcurno, Perranuthnoe, Sennen), for fabulous costal path walks (Zennor, Gurnards Head) and the delights of Newlyn and Mousehole. Highly recommended.

This barn is out of the way which is wonderful if you like walking and quiet spaces. It is glorious in the secluded garden and if it gets chilly move into the sun house which is a sun trap. The small hamlet is very friendly and the local farm sells fresh eggs otherwise there are plenty of shops and stores en route from Penzance.

Another wonderful stay at Sixpenny Barn! Spotlessly clean and everything we needed for our stay, just as before. The fresh flowers and locally made treats are such a thoughtful welcome gift from Sarah the owner. Perfect location for exploring and certainly our favourite cottage to stay in…we will be back!

When you enjoy the quiet in the countryside, then come to this place. It's s ideal to slow down and feel time how it's "stops". The barn is wonderfully converted into a modern place - not seen from the outside.

This was our second stay at Sixpenny Barn and like before it exceeded our expectations. Everything was clean and tidy. Little touches of essentials including some yummy biscuits were most welcome after our journey. Great location for exploring Cornwall, we visited St Ives, Gwithian, Portreath, Perranporth, Mousehole & Lands End. When you return to this lovely cottage, it really feels like home from home. Thank you for a wonderful winter break, we feel truly rested.

Gorgeous cottage with great secure garden. Very quiet and peaceful. Good location for north and south coast. Amazing coastal path walks and stunning beaches. Our weather for October was amazing and really made the holiday excellent. Will be back next year.

As someone who provides holiday accomodation in France I was more than impressed with Sixpenny Barn. Without doubt, the standard of both cleanliness and decoraration was superb. Also, the tranquil location was excellent, within easy reach of both Penzance and St. Ives. I wholeheartedly recommend this property and hope to visit again.

This year was our third time in this cottage, and this year was the time of COVID-19. The cottage was immaculate and there were clear details about use of sanitiser (a bottle of which was visible immediately on entry), keeping the cottage well ventilated and what to do with dirty linen at the end of our stay. The cottage itself is the best that we have ever stayed in. It is very tastefully furnished and decorated, full of light and very comfortable. It has a beautiful garden with a summer house, clothes line and seats. The road is a track which ends just beyond the property with very occasional local cars, and horses are walked by several times a day. There is a path onto the moorland with a burial chamber 20 minutes walk away (Mulfra Quoit). It is very peaceful and relaxing, whilst also being only a 20 minute drive from Penzance and all its amenities (including a large Sainsbury's. There is so much to visit locally. We love the area and the cottage.

We have had a wonderful stay at Sixpenny Barn. Even Storm Dennis didn't dampen our enjoyment as the property is so comfortable it was actually a pleasure to stay in! Spotlessly clean, well equipped and stylishly but sympathetically decorated, we can't wait to come back in the better weather so that we can really make the most of the wonderful location and the beautiful garden.

A truly amazing cottage which fully met our expectations. A home from home, lovely and clean with plenty of equipment, all in good working order! Fixtures and furnishings were exceptional. One of the best cottages we have stayed in our 30 years of renting holiday homes. Great care has been taken to produce this excellent holiday cottage.

Wonderfully furnished and well equipped gem of a cottage.

This was our 2nd stay at Sixpenny Barn and it was excellent the first time round so it is was so good to see that it was equally as good the 2nd time. In actual fact it was probably even better (if that is possible) as you can clearly see that the owner is continually updating and upgrading the property to make improvements all the time. It is so nice to go somewhere and feel totally comfortable because the place is so clean. Brilliantly clean, beautifuly stylish, very comfortable and continually being improved.

A lovely cottage in a beautiful quiet location with great walks from the door.

This is the most stylish, cosy, comfortable and CLEANEST rental I have ever stayed in, I wish all of them could be this good. Nice goodies left for us by the owner too. Cannot wait to go back.

A gorgeous home from home gem of a cottage which has been modernised whilst keeping a traditional feel with lots of lovely touches.It is however in a very remote location which may suit/not suit your needs depending on the type of holiday you are looking for so definitely worth considering.

It was obvious that the owner looked after it with great care. the equipment was obviously quite new too We enjoyed the garden too (excellent weather)

A beautiful place, clean comfortable in good location, with a lovely garden & summer house in which to enjoy the peace & tranquillity of Mulfra, but close to Penzance & St. Ives if you wish to enjoy the beach, bars, resturants & shops.

Second visit to this lovely property in a fabulous part of Cornwall. The cottage is very tastefully decorated and comes equipped with almost everything you could want - even down to wind up torches should the power fail !. We had a relaxing and enjoyable stay and will definitely want to visit again. The cottage is a great credit to the owner, Sarah

Sixpenny Barn is a beautifully renovated granite barn. The location (which we knew well, having stayed for B&B at farm across the lane for some years) is a very peaceful and beautiful location, in a small hamlet high on the West Penwith moors. It is a good place for walks or just relaxing. Some may find it a bit remote as there is travelling to do for supplies - which has to be borne in mind. But it's only a few minutes by car to, say, Penzance or St.Ives. There are no shops nor other facilities nearby. There is an infrequent bus service at the bottom of the lane at the hamlet of New Mill, 3/4 mile. As long as these matters are understood then the cottage is very recommendable for a holiday. In fact the location itself is a main reason for choosing it. It is not perhaps a suitable place travelling to some of the areas and locations which you recommended and suggested, being rather a long way.

we enjoyed every detail of this wonderful place from the moment we opened the door. we felt really at home whenever we returned from our athmospheric tours to the area. the location is remote but idyllic and we appreciated both walking tours starting at the garden door, e.g. to very recommendable gurnard's head, and exploring the greater region. we will love to come back to cornwall and to the sixpenny barn!

Sixpenny Barn is situated in an ideal location for visiting this part of Cornwall, within easy reach of St Ives, Lands End, The Lizard and St Michaels Mount. The property is immaculately decorated and is tucked away in a lovely quiet spot for a relaxing holiday in 'Poldark Country'.

Location, location, location as they say - Cornwall, tick; Mulfra, tick; Sixpenny Barn, tick. Really well presented and comfortable property, well equipped kitchen. Great walking from the back of the property and only a short drive to Penzance, St Ives and surrounding area. I was very tempted to squat, one of those places when you go through the front door you think. A wonderful rustic cottage, very peaceful, good local walks. Garden was a lovely addition, cottage finished to a very high standard with all the equipment you need for your stay. If we come back to West Cornwall, this will be the only place we would stay.

Beautiful cottage, fabulously restored and decorated. Moving a couple of miles inland gives you a parking space, a lovely garden and peace and quiet (no seagulls!).

A very comfortable stay in Sixpenny Barn. Beautifully located in serene countryside but only a few minutes drive away from Penzance, Newlyn and the Zennor coast. We will be back.
