Looking for the ideal retreat for a good old-fashioned family holiday? Then look no further – Mount View Sunrise Safari Tent is that and so much more. Set in the middle of its two neighbours (Mount View Horizon and Mount View Retreat) in the spacious meadow with spectacular 180 degree views over Mounts Bay, this idyllic haven includes a well-equipped kitchen complete with wood-fired range and fridge/small freezer. And, when it's time to count sheep, there is the choice of a charming double cabin bed, situated in the living-area with shutters for privacy, a double bedroom or a twin bedroom (both at the back of the tent).

With the wood-fired range and electric heaters in both bedrooms keeping the tent toasty, a stay at any time of year is a must Of course you also have the luxury of an en suite shower-room and separate cloakroom with a flushing toilet, heated towel rail and hot and cold water – well it wouldn't be glamping otherwise, would it! The retreat also has wifi ready for you to plan those days of adventures.

Did we also mention that you have your very own private hot tub on your very own raised deck, along with not one but two hammocks – bliss. Sit back and relax while the kids let off steam in the large meadow, your four-legged friend can even join in too. Adding even more luxury to your stay, an onsite sauna, which can be booked in hour-long sessions through the owner, invites you to sit back and relax after a day spent exploring the coast. Warm the cockles of your heart in the steamy depths before waking up with a refreshing plunge into the cold water barrel. The use of the sauna and plunge barrel is at an additional cost.

Customer reviews

Good or bad, we publish all the reviews left by the guests who have stayed at this property.

Mrs Warmington

We thought the safari tent, the location and the views were just amazing. David was a great host, the place was easy to find, exceptionally clean and well equipped and peaceful. Watching sunrises on the verandah and sunsets in the hot tub was a huge bonus and to be 5 mins drive from the beach was great too. We really couldnt have had a lovelier stay.....in fact we didnt want to leave. 5 stars.

Mrs Trezona

We had a wonderful stay at the Mount View Sunrise Safari Tent! The location and the view cannot be beaten and we spent much of the holiday sat on the decking (or in the hot tub!) just looking at the amazing panoramic view. The tent itself was spacious, warm, clean and comfortable and well equipped with everything we could have needed (and more!) for a week's holiday. The outside space was beautifully well kept and perfect for the kids to run around in, with a football goal, swings, trampoline and badminton net. A perfect glamping retreat (where you feel like you're actually staying in a house, just with canvas walls surrounded by beautiful outdoor space all around!).

Mrs Smith

Beautiful location, coupled with everything you need for a self contained holiday. Plenty of space for five of us and the kids loved the play area. We would definitely recommend the safari tent.

Mrs Thomas

Excellent place, beautiful views, can’t wait to our next visit ????

Ms Leah

It’s a great site, fantastic view, clean mostly, shower room was not clean. But the rest was fine.

Ms Hurst

Sunrise Glamping has a fantastic location, you are only amongst 3 other lodges. All have privacy and wonderful hot tubs. The view of St. Michaels Mount just a delight especially when in hot tub. It is a high location so can be windy remembering safari tents are canvas. But if nice weather this is a fabulous camping stay.

Miss Westlake

We loved our time at Mount View. The view is amazing, especially when enjoyed from the hot tub. The hosts were great and the freedom for our daughter to run around and enjoy herself on the trampoline, swings and with the football goal was brilliant.

Mrs Nagle

This is the most amazing place. The views are out of this world. The accommodation is fantastic. We will definitely be returning

Mr Plumb

An excellent panoramic location and safari tent set in grounds which are beautifully laid out and well kept. Clearly David and Amanda have worked wonders. Nothing is too much when asking for help and/or information. Thank you.

Mr Wright

excellent location, great accommodation, whole family had a great time including the dogs, David the owner extremely helpful and friendly will definitely be back next year. Mick Toni and family.

Miss Sexton

Love booking through classic cottages. So easy and they always are so helpful.

Mrs Tolley

We had a fabulous week at mount view ,beautiful location lovely hosts and very dog friendly. We will definitely be returning ??????

Ms Simon

Would highly recommend a stay at this stunning place. It's as beautiful and comfortable as described/pictured and is extremely well-kept. Plus, all the little details and thought that the owners put into the property make Mount View Sunrise Safari Tent feel like a home away from home. A genuinely fantastic experience.

Mr & Mrs Hancock

Great stay at a lovely location! Amazing view to wake up to each morning. What a treat - a hot tub for the cooler days! So many things to see and do. We enjoyed seal watching at the Lizard, followed by a lovely lunch at Britain’s Most Southernly Cafe. Also the Minack theatre is worth a visit. In the local vicinity, we would recommend the Tremenheere sculptured gardens, and a trip to Marizon to Philps Pastie shop and Rubys Fudge Shop. Also the White Hart is a must for good food and a warm welcome. Thank you to farm owner David for providing such a beautiful location for our first glamping experience!

Mr Lewis

Would we stay there again? Yes. We had a lovely week and were very lucky with the weather which enabled us to visit some very beautiful places in Cornwall.

Mrs Thomas

Excellent accommodation, best view ever, highly recommend going here. Fabulous family holiday.

Mr Stevens

Great place. If you are reading the reviews wondering if you should book then you should it’s a fantastic lodge in a great location with some brilliant owners. Can’t go wrong

Miss Pidd

This place was beyond amazing, the view, the hot tub all made for some great nights! The pictures are amazing, but the reality was even better. The welcome basket and hamper for the dog were a great addition. I will definitely be back.

Miss Harper

This is an amazing place. The location is great, the views are wonderful. The tent was fabulous, it had everything you could possibly need and was so clean. Everything was very high standard. I was with my 66 year old mum and 6 month old baby and we all loved our stay! We had mixed weather, strong winds, cold evenings and sunshine and the tent was great throughout. The log burning stove and electric radiators kept us warm when we needed them. It was a very relaxing trip and David is the perfect host. He clearly cares about his guests having a good time and he succeeded in providing us with the most brilliant accommodation. We will be back and we have already been recommending the place to friends and family.

Mr Hamber

Your on top of a large hill overlooking the bay, gets very windy

Miss Jones

Dr Rolls

A lovely location - just the break we needed. Very welcoming and friendly host. Can’t wait to go back!

Mr Chadd

Tent was fantastic. Views amazing and facilities on site were excellent - particularly the hot tub and childrens play area. David was extremely welcoming and always checked to ensure we were happy and had everything we needed - also offered tips on places to visit. We will definitely return!

Mrs Ahrens

Fantastic venue, brilliant experience Thank you

Miss Day

This was the second time we have stayed here and everytime has been fantastic! David and Amanda are always so welcoming and friendly.

Mr Irwin

Beautifully located with fabulous views. Everything has been thought of with every glamping luxury!

Mrs Beer

Incredible views across the bay. Walking distance to a pub and a 5 minute drive from the beach and many restaurants. Tent was extremely well presented with everything we needed and the hot tub was just divine! The play area at the top of the field and the box of games was a really nice touch. Cannot fault the place!

Mrs Harrison

We had a wonderful stay at Mount View Sunrise Safari tent. Everything was so beautifully presented with freshly cut daffodils from the neighbouring field. David was a fantastic host and was always around to offer help if needed. We loved the big range oven and even made homemade pizzas in it! But our absolute favourite was the huge hot tub overlooking St Michaels Mount and the whole bay. We cant wait to go back.

Mrs Shaw

Sunrise Safari Tent is glamping with emphasis on the glam! Everything you could possibly need is there.....I noticed a review from last year said that it would have been good to have binoculars & a hairdryer, well they are both available now. If you can think of something that would be a benefit & you mention it to David, if its possible he will provide it. The beds are all so comfy with really deep mattresses and the hammocks are a fabulous recent addiction. It is also such a bonus to have your own shower & toilet in the tent and the hot tub on the veranda is wonderful.........with a view to die for! David is a wonderful host, very friendly & more than happy to help with any problem that may arise.....the Wifi went off during our 2nd week but David did his utmost to get it sorted asap. When we arrived there was a vase of flowers, a basket full of Amanda's amazing freshly baked scones & strawberry jam on the table & clotted cream & milk in the fridge. Our welcoming goodies also included biscuits & a delicious bottle of blackberry wine! We were with our Son & his family & our 5 year old Grandson made full use of the football goal in the play area further up the field behind the Horizon Safari Tent which also included a large netted trampoline, a climbing frame with 2 swings & a badminton net ......rackets & shuttlecocks are provided in the toy basket inside the tent which also included footballs & a couple of family outdoor games! Farmer David was also a big hit with our Grandson, & the other children staying at Horizon & the shepherd's hut, for happily giving rides in one of the farm tractors! We all had a wonderful holiday & will definitely be back! We will also be recommending this fabulous site to everyone!

Mr Griffiths

We had an amazing holiday. The location was perfect, the owners were lovely, and we had the most perfect holiday you could imagine. What a place! Can’t wait to go back. Thank you.

Mr Heaven

As a first time glamper I enjoyed the experience and would go again. Owners very welcoming. The location was beautiful with many dog friendly shops, cafes etc in nearby towns.

Mrs Davis

Everything fantastic and far exceeded our expectations!

Mr Roberts

An excellent location, beautiful views, great hosts. Not a bad word to say about the place

Mrs Espindola

I strongly recommend a stay here, the beds were so comfy & warm, the whole place was extremely well equipped, incredible views & super clean hot tub! It was idyllic.

Mrs Culliford

So amazing. Didn’t want to leave. I could live there permanently! Hosts were so accommodating with our dogs. Luxurious, clean, relaxing, perfectly positioned.......superdooper ??It really was spectacular and we really want to keep it hush and purely for our own use ??

Miss Gover

We had an amazing romantic honeymoon, the views were stunning and it was so peaceful.

Mr Morrisey

As a get away family holiday this is by far the best holiday we have ever had and I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to explore Cornwall, the outdoors with the comfort of home.

Mrs McGrath

The is the fifth Glamping holiday we have been on, but our first in Cornwall, possibly the best holiday we have had with the very best view.

Dr Rolls

Wonderful glamping experience- welcoming and friendly host in beautiful location. Very well equipped tent with amazing views. Thank you.

Mr Kraaijeveld

Owner is a helpful and kind host and has made this site to a beautiful place to stay with stunning views and great amenities. Lovely hot tub and deck, comfortabele beds and everthing you need for a relaxed stay.

Miss Rezvani

Beautiful and Chic with so much comfort. Mount View is a beautiful glamping place to stay with friends and family. It has so much offer relaxing time for parents as well as enough space for children to run around and enjoy themselves.

Mrs Badcock

Fabulous accommodation with exceptional facilities. Only thing missing for me was the provision of a hair dryer and a pair of binoculars as we left both behind! BINOCULARS are a must, so much to look at both out at sea and the surrounding countryside. The wood burning stove kept us comfortably warm and was so efficient to cook in. Constant supply of fuel made the whole experience a pleasure. Hot water is also in constant supply. Plenty of room in the shower and the heated towel rail is a welcome addition, especially if you are using the hot tub a couple of times a day as we did! The views from the tent are magical. Have never been to this part of Cornwall before and choosing to go to Mount View for the first visit made the whole experience so special. We were extremely well looked after throughout our stay. Enjoyed the luxury of the glamping with the feel of the outside. Waking up to the wonderful views overlooking St Michael's Mount with a cup of tea on the deck and an evening dip in the amazingly warm hot tub will stay with me for a long time to come. The boys loved the cabin bed, choosing to share having plenty of room. There is an abundance of storage in the tent also. The description on the site does state free WiFi, however, we did not find this the case but there is definitely a good signal so if you have data not a problem. We found that we didn't need it anyway... Well only to post up wonderful photos to share with our friends and family! Lovely to spend time playing traditional games with the children and enjoying the countryside. The boys loved the footfall goal, which unfortunately we only found on the last day after the occupants of the other tent left to go home. Would definitely say that Sunrise has the best view. Horizon is possibly better for privacy in the hot tub... However, if you are sat out on the deck in the evening you can see everything from Horizon in the reflection on Sunrise glass!! Also, if you are looking for a complete away from it holiday be warned that when the wind blows in certain direction you have quite a lot of noise from the main road at the bottom of the hill. We didn't mind this though as we live with the sound of the local dual carriage way at home! Also had an early morning wake up call from the two dogs in the other tent very early every morning. We loved watching the cars, boats and trains coming and going from Penzance. St Michaels Mount is much closer than it looks in the photographs and you can see the boats ferrying back and forth from the main land. Also you can watch the hoards of people waiting to walk across the causeway. Desparatly wanting to go back.......Already trying to arrange a return visit. Loved the extra touches too.... Cream tea, tea, coffee, washing up products etc.... Loved by us all, thank you for such a relaxing holiday

Mrs Brown

Fantastic relaxing base for a holiday, with stunning views, especially while sitting in the hot tub. Have not slept so well in ages! Lovely hosts and nothing too much trouble, we will definitely be back. Thank you for a fabulous holiday.
