Mount View Retreat

It was everything we could have hope for and more a beautiful location ,the facilities were over and above expectations ,hot tub was lush ,very highly recommended .

This shepherd’s hut is super - spacious, clean and comfortable with a delightful treat of a hot tub. The spectacular view is mesmerising and the site well cared for by a friendly and thoughtful host. I’m hoping to return!

We loved our stay at Mount View retreat. David was very welcoming and helpful during our stay. The hot tub with the stunning views of St Michael’s Mount were a real hit with our crew. The attention to detail with the welcome pack was second to none. Really appreciated the little touches. The hut was perfectly located to explore some of our favourite spots. We loved the short walk down to Tremenheere Kitchen, we didn’t walk around the gardens of the sculpture park but we had some of the best scones at their cafe. We enjoyed our coastal walk from Gunwalloe Church Cove to Mullion Cove, stopping for refreshments at Poldhu beach cafe and Mullion Cove Hotel. The trampoline and park was a big hit with our three children. Recommended site and hut.

In our opinion, you won’t be disappointed booking this shepherd’s hut!

We spent a lovely relaxing week at the shepherd's hut, enjoying the fantastic view of St Michael's Mount. We have stayed in quite a few huts over the past 3 years and this is by far the biggest, with lots of room and the added bonus of a sofa and bunk beds (which we used for storage). We met the owner (David) on the first night and he advised us that the hot tub is cleaned on every change which is good time know, although this meant it wasn't warm enough on the 1st night. The welcome hamper was a nice surprise, with milk, eggs, crisps, cider and a few other goodies. The safari tents are set back from the hut so privacy is provided. Unfortunately the WiFi wasn't working all week despite mentioning it to the owner, so this needs to be fixed if you need to use this. For some reason, there aren't many reviews made about the hut over the past year so we were a little skeptical, but we would definitely recommend to family and friends and hope to return again in the future when visiting this area.

A wonderful idyllic escape, with breath taking views and so many adventures to have. The best welcome hamper we have ever had with a helpful kind host in David. We would come back in a heart beat. Our son loved the shepherd's hut & park and has so many amazing memories.

Thank you for a great stay! Mount view retreat was amazing, we had a lovely week and it was just want we needed. It was in a great spot - just by the beach and in perfect location for so many other places. The hot tub - we loved as we got to watch the sunset and the stars at night The play area for children - the outside space was perfect and the little patio area Was great for having a cream tea and dinner outside.

This place was fantastic. Even the "mixed " weather couldn't spoil it. Can't recommend it highly enough!

Five stars is not enough for this shepherd hut in its amazing location. We stayed in November when you can appreciate the Woodburn and the stargazing from the hot tub....just bliss!

David is an amazing host. He is on hand if needed, otherwise he leaves guests to enjoy their stay. The Retreat is lovely and has everything you need for your stay. The views are stunning and I would thoroughly recommend it.

Wonderful place to stay ,so relaxing, equipped with all that you need.The hot tub was such a bonus,but best of all was the location with breathtaking views.

We can't rate this place highly enough! The owner David is very friendly and helpful. We absolutely loved the Shepherd's Hut which was always warm, clean and cosy. The hot tub and fire pit were both fantastic additions, and you can't get better than the view of Mounts Bay. We recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet getaway and a luxurious stay.

Incredible place! It’s a must if you want to stay in Penzance. So close to the beach and the view is unbeatable.

A place that makes you feel you have a home in Cornwall (even ever so briefly) . We spent a lot of time trying to spot ‘our shepherds hut’ from the area, happy when we could make out the tiny blue shape from the beach or very top of St Michael’s Mount.

Our stay at Mount View Retreat far exceeded our expectations. Our stay was tranquil and the hosts were lovely and friendly. The location made for perfect week away exploring beautiful Cornwall. We hope to be able to come back soon :)

We had a great week away and would definitely return. David was a very helpful and welcoming host , the accommodation was very comfortable and many hours were spent relaxing in the hot tub! The view from the hut is quite spectacular - and it was fun people watching and boat watching using the binoculars (the causeway at st michaels mount was very popular). The weather was quite a mixed bag, but to be fair when you have a hot tub you don’t care if it’s raining....The site was beautifully maintained and there was lots of wildlife around, especially at dusk there were lots of bats to watch and it was just a really relaxed place and it felt very private.

Not only was the shepherds hut beautiful, the view was simply stunning. The site is beautifully kept and clean, everything you need is to hand. The owners go the extra mile - after a 6 hour drive we found freshly baked scones, clotted cream, jam and tea/coffee supplies in the hut for us, very welcome! One of the owners came to welcome us on day 1 and to say goodbye on the last day. Wouldn't hesitate to book again .

Mount view was lovely. We are a family of 4, who all enjoyed our stay. Great views whilst sat in the hot tub, which was a big hit. The kids also loved the play area, with the football goal.

Possibly the best view in Cornwall. What a delightful little hut - the pictures on the website do not do it justice - it’s even better in reality.

Would like to go again on my own to soak up the peace

Great quality accommodation in a stunning location, the photos actually don’t do it justice! My sincere thanks to David and Amanda for their friendliness during my stay. Just brilliant for a quiet week away enjoying the walks of the Cornwall coast and the local pubs.

We really enjoyed our stay in Mount View Retreat - the views are even better than in the photos, the hot tub was great and the cabin was comfortable and snug. Warmly recommended!

Absolutely fantastic from start to finish.

Our stay in this accommodation was just fabulous, we arrived late in the evening and it was therefore very dark but the view that greeted us when we woke was just stunning. A beautiful area, a beautiful welcoming stay, we will definitely be back.

Easy to book and friendly service. Accommodation and location is excellent. Peaceful, exceptional scenery. Property and hot tub very clean and well maintained. Property exceeded expectations. Some very nice personal touches including warm scones on arrival. Log burner cosy in the autumn months. Owners must have put considerable thought into all details from conception.

We had the most amazing time at Mount view retreat this May. Everything was as you see it in the photos, perfect! The owners are really approachable and made us feel very welcome on our arrival. There are so many great hiking routes from your front door which was great. We completed the St Michael’s Way during our stay which passes just below the hut. The hot tub was a great way to unwind with a beer after a day exploring the coastal paths. It was such a beautiful place to stop we didn’t want to leave! We will definitely be going back in the future!

We loved the Shepherd Hut at Mount View! We were made to feel welcome straight away and during the whole of our stay. It had the perfect view which was made even more special with the hot tub. We would highly recommend visiting Mount Review Retreat - even in the winter!

My partner and I had an amazing time at Mount View Retreat. It was a surprise booking for his 30th birthday and we both loved staying here. For a start, the view is absolutely stunning! When we entered the hut we were treated with a basket of goodies and some essentials in the fridge which was a lovely touch. The hut absolutely has everything you need, without making it feel cramped. The hut has a fantastic layout inside and we definitely made good use of the beautiful log burner and hot tub outside (even in February!) David greeted us a couple of hours after we arrived and we had a pleasant chat, he then came and wished us well the day before we departed, it was a lovely touch. We will definitely be returning in the future and recommending it to all of our friends. Can’t wait to stay here again!

The owners Amanda and David were wonderful hosts who wanted to make sure we were happy with everything. The welcome cream tea was a lovely touch. The Shepherds Hut was very well appointed with everything needed for a 'get away' type of holiday. Sitting in the Hot tub with views over St Michael's Mount is a truely magical experience.

This place is one of a kind with an exceptional view! The shepherds hut is cosy and has everything you need. We loved the simplicity! We used the hot tub loads and spent most evenings watching shooting stars! Just fantastic and plenty of space for a couple and two young children.

An utterly beautiful tranquil place, the hut was perfect beautiful and comfortable. We couldn't have been more thrilled. This place is by far the best place I've stayed its nice small and cosy. The view is outstanding waking up to it every morning and sitting in the hot tub in the evening looking over was incredible! We will be returning for sure with our dogs! The owners were the nicest friendliest people going! Going out their way to make sure we had everything we needed and we're having a nice time! Mount View Retreat is a perfect getaway for any time of the year. The hut itself is beautifully decorated and so warm and cosy. The view outside is amazing, and the hot tub is the icing on the cake. We had a wonderful time here, and it was clear from the start that the owners had put in so much time and effort to make our stay as good as it could be. They truly succeeded in this aim, as we had a fantastic time at this lovely place. Don't have any doubts about booking Mount View Retreat, you won't be disappointed! We can't wait to go back!
