Sitting in an enviable position with stunning views across Mount's Bay towards iconic St Michael's Mount and beyond, Sea View House certainly lives up to its name! This contemporary semi-detached house is reverse level to make the most of the fabulous views over the railway to the vast open seas of the English Channel, from Lizard Point in the east to Gwennap Head in the west. From dawn to dusk sit and admire miles of golden sands whilst watching the tide ebb and flow and perhaps even admire a kite surfer or kayaker paddling past.

Three bedrooms are located on the ground floor, all with comfy beds and cosily furnished. The main bedroom has the added benefit of an en suite shower-room, so no queuing here for that early morning shower. Bedroom two has three-foot single beds, ideal for either adults or children and bedroom three has bunk-beds which the children in the party will love. Both the main bedroom and the twin room have access to the decked patio, the perfect spot for a morning coffee.

Climb the stairs where you will find the spacious open plan first floor, light and bright thanks to the huge floor to ceiling windows and the perfect place to take in the view! The large dining-table sits opposite the kitchen area so guests can sit and chat whilst the chef prepares dinner. A south-facing balcony leads from this floor, where you can gaze out to sea and watch the occasional train travel past.

Blessed with two outside patio areas and walks from your door into the local village and over the crossing onto the beach, this really is a fabulous place for a family holiday or perhaps for a group of friends looking for a getaway, and even your four-legged friend is most welcome here.

Customer reviews

Good or bad, we publish all the reviews left by the guests who have stayed at this property.

Mrs Roe

We had a lovely stay thank you. The property was well situated and had everything we needed. We liked the location close to Marazion and Penzance and the close proximity to a dog friendly beach. It was also a short drive to St Ives. There was a lovely coffee shop a short walk along the beach. Our kids and dogs loved it.

Mrs Gilbert

This is a lovely property with fabulous views of St. Michael's Mount. It is well appointed and very well situated for access to Penzance, Newlyn and Mousehole. The bus services are terrific for the entire area and mean that you can go pretty much anywhere in the region by bus if you wanted to give your car a "rest" for your holiday and relax and let the bus take the strain. It's a beautiful part of the country with lots to explore and enjoy.

Mrs McMullen

This was our sixth stay at Sea View House, we love it. However, it was disappointing this time due to lack of cleanliness, it may be a while until we return, which would be a shame! As ever the views are spectacular and the addition of the new sofas and chairs certainly improve the comfort.

Mrs Barrell

We were an extended family of 8 with ages ranging from 80 down to 8. The property is spacious and well- equipped. The view over Mounts Bay is wonderful. Several supermarkets are very close if needed. We drove to beaches on both the north coast and the south quite easily. And there were many good walks locally. It rained (a lot!) but the house was warm and comfortable. Not for you if you would be unhappy with trains passing quite frequently, as they were a bit disturbing during the night. However we soon got used to them, and became 'train-spotters' during our stay. We loved this holiday and would book again.

Mr Lathwell

Enjoyed our latest stay in Seaview . Perfect location with stunning views especially for railway enthusiasts. Light and airy a spacious property ideal for families . Easy walk to supermarkets and fantastic local walks . Would recommend to anybody , with Penzance a lovely coastal walk away .

Mr Overend

Excellent property in an excellent location. You can walk easily to either Penzance or Marazion along the costal path, which is pram friendly. Excellent views. Trains passing were a novelty to watch. Property was in good condition and clean. Great pub less than 50 yards from the property. We would 100% stay again.

Mrs McCabe

Lovely spacious house at Long Rock which is a two minute drive from Marazion and about five minutes drive into Penzance. There are plenty of supermarkets driving into Penzance - Tesco, Morrisons and Sainsbury's. Also a Lidl's at the far end of the promenade at Penzance. The balcony view over the bay to St Michael's Mount is stunning and a few minutes walk to the post office/paper shop. Also a public house with a restaurant which was very good and a two minute walk from the property. As previously stated in comments the trains are frequent but one tends to ignore them after a short time. Comfortable suite in the lounge and plenty of space. There is no toilet on the first floor so had to go downstairs to bathroom so anyone with walking disabilities this could be a challenge. Also the shower room in the double room is very small with a tiny wash basin though a very good shower. Overall we had an excellent holiday at Sea View House.

Mrs Eddy

A great property located near to the sea. The railway line is very near but we soon got used to the trains going past and helicopters coming over (the heliport is just behind). We loved the place and may well return.

Dr Brown

Generally this is a great place to stay, but the absence of a Smart TV for wet days should be noted.

Mrs McLean

We had a lovely stay at Sea View House. We have always holidayed in the area and the house exceeded our expectations. From the moment we walked in, not only did it smell clean, but it was exceptionally clean throughout. The cream tea that had been left for us was gratefully received. The house overlooks Mounts Bay with the train line into Penzance between - the trains did not bother us at all during our stay, in fact it was rather lovely. Even the rain did not dampen our holiday, the view over the bay was great.

Mrs Malam

We have stayed at Sea View House many times and love it. The house itself is fabulous and the view is amazing. The house gives you easy access to the coastal path and beach. Our dog loved going for walks on the beach every day. It is a perfect base for a visit to West Cornwall. We will be back again next year.

Mr Hughes

My partner and myself were knocked out by the stunning views from this property - together with its closeness to a dog friendly beach, made this an ideal spot for our holiday with our dog Alfie. It is a great base for exploring West Cornwall - there are loads of places to find within a half-hours drive from such as Porthleven, Penzance, St. Ives - and many, many more. There are a number of good restaurants nearby - the Mexico Inn, just nearby and the Packet Inn at Rosudgeon both deserve a mention.

Mrs Land

So close to the coastal path - made morning sunrise walks very easy and the view across Mount's Bay is beautiful!

Mr Sherwood

Fantastic location for a family holiday with a two-year old and a hyperactive dog. If you don't want to be bothered with driving much its even more perfect. The beach is a short walk away, and a great pub is literally a stones throw away (and I have a weak arm). Both Penzance and Marazion are a pleasant walk away and there are regular buses along the main road.

Miss Cooke

The sea view was outstanding. The train noise didn't bother us either...but the upstairs floorboards did. We had to restrict walking on them when we were putting our two year to bed. (bedrooms are on the lower ground floor) The furniture on the outside seating area upstairs was far too big ..taking up 90percent of the area. Hard wooden planks nailed together... once seated it was hard to get up as the chairs were so heavy to move. No soft seating pads were provided! It the end we didn't sit outside as it was so difficult to do so without knocking yourself on the furniture. The other outside seating area on the ground floor again had a wooded picnic table and some very filthy green plastic chairs!! more akin to public areas rather than to provide comfortable seating for guests.

Mr Kemp

I like the house despite what I have written down, it has been my first choice every time I go on Holiday

Mrs Bagnall

This spacious topsy-turvy property offers superb views of St Michaels Mount, Penzance and Newlyn. Great outside space to sit, unwind and enjoy the scenery. Fabulous location to enjoy the flat beach front walk from Long Rock to Marazion.

Miss Pearson

This property is like home for home!. We travelled to Cornwall for a wedding and 4 children we wanted it close to the beach, spacious room and close to amenities. Well we got everything we wished for. Trains were no issue in fact most of them gave the children a wave and a hoot of the horn. Neighbours are lovely more than willing to engage with our children. We will definitely be booking this home again.

Mrs Francis

We had an fantastic stay at Sea view house. Great location, an easy walk into Penzance and Marazion. The weather could have been kinder but we had three good days of sunshine with the rest mixed. It didn’t stop us having a lovely holiday. Would definitely recommend

Mrs McMullen

Once again we had a fabulous stay at Sea View House, it does not really matter what the weather is like with those views, the house is warm and comfortable and even when the rain is beating against the windows, you can still smile and be happy that you are there.

Mrs Gilbert

This is an excellent property with amazing views. Close to the beach and amenities, quiet and restful. We have already booked for next year and can't wait!!!

Ms Cousins

This is a great holiday home with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. The views are stunning whatever the weather and there are lovely walks in both directions. We’ll definitely be back!

Mrs Wood

Beautiful location, excellent property. Would definitely book again

Mrs Sankey

Would definetly recommend.

Mrs Woodruff

I absolutely loved the balcony, with the sea view and the trains passing by. My husband wasn't quite as keen on the trains, especially at night!

Mrs Arnold

Lovely location.

Mr Cobbett

The location is very good and the views from the lounge and balcony are fantastic. The cottage was very dirty on arrival. Definitely not acceptable especially in these Covid times.

Mrs Palmer

Wonderful ‘home from home’ for large family group, (and an extremely lovely welcome of a delicious cream tea), extremely comfortable and well-equipped, with wonderful sea views. Trains run close by, starting early in the morning so earplugs might be useful if you are a light sleeper. A bright and airy, spacious family holiday home, very central for exploring a beautiful area of Cornwall. Shop and good pub within 2mins walk, and large supermarket about 5mins’ drive away. We loved our stay here, and would definitely like to come again.

Mr McNulty

Wonderful views of Mount's Bay. The house is very well situated for access to all of West Cornwall. The ''out of season'' -two person reduction. Very well stocked with everything you could need. The housekeeper is just across the road in case of issues or emergencies. The cream tea and milk in the fridge on arrival was very much appreciated. We will keep coming for as long as it is available.

Mrs Whitbread

Great location, all the comforts of home and more! Beautiful views, beach 5 mins walk away. Great local pubs and shop, all so friendly and welcoming. We will be back!

Mrs McMullen

This was our third stay at Sea View House. We love the location, space and facilities and we had an excellent week of sunny weather which added to our stay. We will definitely return.

Mr Stevens

Very comfortable house with fantastic views of the coast & GWR main line .

Mr Petford

This is a lovely place with a location and views that are stunning a well equipped place but if you can't sleep through train noise from 6.45 to 1.15 am you won't sleep much and will be more tired than when you went.

Mrs Anderson

Patio is a sun trap

Mrs Green

Amazing views, we loved it, the dogs loved it, great outside space for them, would definitely like to return xx Thankyou for the cream tea when we got there x

Mr Windust

The house is in the perfect location with amazing views. Our stay was perfect, made even better with a complimentary cream tea on arrival. This was our second stay at this house and I am sure we will be back again. It’s definitely our favourite property to stay at in Cornwall

Mr Donaldson

Third time at this property and love it every time. Great house, great location with all you need for a home from home holiday.

Mrs Bowker

Fabulous house in a quiet location with amazing views overlooking St Michaels Mount..

Mr McNulty

The house is extremely well equipped and recent redecoration was evident and appreciated. We rent this property regularly, as does our daughter and family and it completely suits our needs when visiting Cornwall.Wonderful views. Very reasonably priced in low season.Very well equipped.

Ms White

Absolutely loved it lovely location excellent views beautiful spacious house and warm inviting atmosphere. Perfect in every way. Made our familymoon fantastic

Mrs Brown

Fantastic house, with beautiful views, sun most of the day on balcony. Location perfect for dog friendly beach. We enjoyed staying in such a lovely place.

Mrs Malam

We have stayed at Seaview House many times and will no doubt be back again. The location of the house is perfect and we will never get tired of the view!

Mrs McMullen

Fantastic location and views, the house is really bright, spacious and warm with just about everything you could wish for. This was our second visit and we will definitely return soon.

Mrs Dean

Not everything it says it is. Pictures a bit misleading in my humble opinion. We were not impressed at all. Wouldn't make a repeat booking as it's not up to the mark for us.

Mr Matthews

Excellent. Stayed over the Christmas period. The Christmas decorations and mince pies were a great touch and appreciated. Very dog friendly property. Our dogs loved the beach/sea, possibly the last visit to the beach for our “old boy” since he has terminal illness, therefore very grateful that the property owners agreed to the second dog.

Ms O'Brien

The well equipped kitchen was greatly appreciated. Plenty of convenient supermarkets and lovely towns nearby. Long Rock is nothing special but an excellent base for beautiful outings. The views from the property are perfect and we weren't at all disturbed by the trains (may be different if it was very warm and you needed to keep the windows open)

Mr Roberts

What a fantastic place to stay one of the best holidays we have had in a long time, it was clean had fresh towels when we arrived , scones and milk waiting in the fridge, it even had a little garden down stairs which was a surprise. It was close to all the supermarkets and a 5 min drive to Penzance, would definitely go again

Mr Williamson

Easy booking system and no problems during holiday. Highly recommended and will certainly use in the future.

Mr McMahon

Ideal location, very comfortable house and excellent service made our holiday very special, thanks again.

Mr McNulty

We visit Sea View House twice a year and other members of the family also rent it. We have done so for many years as it offers comfort, amazing views of Mounts Bay and St Michael's Mount and offers value for money. We will continue to make it our first choice when visiting Cornwall for as long as it is available.

Mr Lathwell

Had a fantastic break in a superb house with outstanding views A real railway enthusiasts dream My second visit

Mr Herbert

This is a beautiful space to relax and unwind in. Such a phenomenal location! We loved being able to take an easy stroll along the massive stretch of beach that Longrock is home to. The house was well appointed, well maintained and everything we were hoping for. Waking up to views out across the bay has made for some unforgettable memories. Many thanks!

Mrs McPherson

A lovely, comfortable, clean, well equipped and spacious house in a very good location. The train line is close and busy but it wouldn't deter me from booking again.

Mrs McMullen

A great house with amazing views, comfortable and relaxing, we look forward to returning once our concerns have been addressed.

Ms Peters

Liked the view, comfortable beds. Would very much benefit from a upgrade in and out and cleaners need to do a good job.

Mr Kemp

The Views, easy parking,

Mr Donaldson

A fabulous house with a beautiful view. Peaceful, relaxing and a great base from where to explore everything Cornwall has to offer. My second time in this house and would definitely stay again. Sitting out on that terrace each day taking in the scenery, breathing the fresh sea air and planing the days trips was just perfect. Then sitting out at night star gazing before relaxing in this great home. Would definitely recommend.

Mrs Nicklin

Sea View is a fabulous all round holiday home. Everything about it was excellent eg location, cleanliness, comfort etc. I would recommend to everyone.

Mr Marsh

The location was ideal for easy access to all of our favourite destinations in West Cornwall, and its proximity to The Mexico pub with its great food, staff and ales was an added bonus!

Mr Thorner

We had a great stay at Sea View house which was exactly as described and as clean and bright as shown in the photos. Collecting the key was straight forward, the caretaker called in advance to confirm our bedding requirements for a family of 6 adults and we loved the little surprise welcome of cream tea and milk waiting for us in the fridge. Little touches make a big difference. The passing trains were no bother and added to the enjoyment of the view. We'd definitely recommend this cottage.

Ms Moore

We hosted the whole family on Boxing Day and we were able to sit on the balcony in the sun and look at the fantastic views across to Marazion and Penzance. It is perfectly positioned midway between the two so a lovely base for walks into Marazion and Penzance.

Mrs Hutchings

The view of the sea and St Michaels Mount was amazing and the balcony is a gorgeous sun trap even in April. Loved the house, very spacious. Only problem was we had to come home!

Mr Norfolk

Great location with unrivalled views.

Mr Donaldson

Great house in a good location which makes a good base from which to explore Cornwall with the added bonus of being a short walk from the beach. Trains aren't a problem either and to be honest added a little more interest.

Mrs Shephard

We really enjoyed our stay at Sea View House. Couldn't fault the accommodation. The view from the house is amazing. The house was clean, spacious, comfortable and well-equipped. Our dog loved her walks along Long Rock beach! Would love to return in the future.

Mr Lathwell

The ease of booking The accurate description The overall experience

Ms Ives

The house was the perfect place for our Honeymoon we could not have asked for better, hope to return for our anniversary next year.

Mrs Honeyman

Fab property, great location- trains not an issue over Christmas with reduced times and doors mainly closed. Beach is good for walking dogs as long as timing is right for the tides (30-40mph winds were certainly refreshing!). Beautifully decorated inside, very well equipped inside and out, no WIFI, good internet signal (Vodafone), extremely comfortable living, light, airy and spacious. Can I buy it?

Mrs Compton

We had a lovely week at the cottage, the views were outstanding, we even had good weather. The cream tea on arrival was an added bonus. We will be back hopefully.

Mrs Robinson

Nice contemporary property with stunning views. But rather tired and needs an overhaul. Acceptable if can put up with passing trains.

Mrs Vesey

The view is spectacular but the trains are very, very close to the house.

Mr Norfolk

Great location with stunning views of St. Michaels Mount.

Mr Queen

Nice views but could do with an upgrade and clean, trains are loud and stairs are steep good access to marizian and penzance.

Miss Hibbert

This really is a beautiful place to stay - for both the accommodation and location. We stayed in October and were lucky with the weather and so in the height of summer it would be even more beautiful! It is very spacious accommodation with everything you need provided for to include towels, washing machine, cleaning products, etc. It is a good location to walk to Marazion and to travel to any other locations in Cornwall. It was clean and tidy and other than the trains passing by (which is something that you get used to and nice to see) it is very quiet. I saw that some reviews said about internet connection but I didnt struggle with this whilst I stayed there I did mange to connect. Overall excellent value for money and would recommend visiting!

Miss Beadnell

Beautiful spacious house with lovely views that covers the mount to newlyn, excellent value for money. Would highly recommend and stay there again.

Miss Cartwright

After a very long journey we were not able to enter the house at the stated time as apparently the previous occupants had left it in such a state. So we weren't aloud in gone four and after all that the cleanliness was very disappointing. The one shower was broken and we were promised it would be fixed, but it never was.

Ms Birch

Excellent location with fantastic views but slightly tired in places and lacking entertainment systems and Wi-Fi. Poor 3G signal.

Mr Kemp

we just love the place and recomend it to every one
