Montaza is a Grade II Listed, 18th Century detached cottage set in the heart of the bustling village of Goldsithney.

With its warming red Aga in the kitchen (the main cooking appliance however, an electric hob, air fryer and microwave are also provided) and a roaring open fire in the sitting/dining-room, this traditional cottage is the perfect place to relax and get away from it all.

The ground floor has a cloakroom and a second sitting-room for those wishing to take some time out. The kitchen leads out to an enclosed courtyard and steps up to the lawn. The three spacious bedrooms, compact shower-room and family bathroom are on the first floor.

Good or bad, we publish all the reviews left by the guests who have stayed at this property.

Mrs Flanagan

This is our third year staying in Montaza. Its become an annual family holiday with children and their partners. We all love the cottage and the location. The cottage is warm and welcoming well equipped and ideally located for beaches and attractions along with the local pubs serving good food. Planning to book again next year.

Mrs Woodwards

We found the cottage comfortable, just a small issue for us was no stair rail on the lower part of the stairs which was a problem for us . But that's a age related.

Mrs Addey

Montaza is in a great Village with 2 pubs and a brilliant Village shop and Post Office. Close to Marazion for the beach and The Godolphin. Porthleven, Mousehole and St Ives also worth a look. Having stayed in the village on several occasions we thought it would be nice to have a family holiday and have a bigger property. We booked Montaza partly because it said parking for 2 cars! Only if they are Minis, garage is possible to get into but you can’t open the doors and get out of the car! Luckily plenty of parking on the road. The house is spacious enough for 6 but, cooking on the Aga was different and only possible with the gauge at maximum. House is well equipped with most things you need, few more mugs might be beneficial. The shower is slow and steady so leave plenty of time for everyone to get ready! Garden is good for 2 dogs, various bits of furniture scattered around could have looked have been tidied up to look better. Generally the house looked tired and in need of some TLC, we have been told this is in hand, I hope so as it has potential to be lovely.

Mrs Flanagan

Our second stay at Montaza was just as good as our first. A spacious, warm and welcoming cottage within walking distance to two great pubs serving excellent food. It’s ideally located for access to some great beaches. The cottage is beautifully clean and well stocked. Our two dogs were welcomed with beds, bowls and towels all provided. The lemon drizzle cake and tea provided on arrival was excellent and a nice touch. Highly recommended cottage.

MS Rigby

Very cosy, comfortable cottage in a lovely village. Plenty of lovely walks and beaches roundabouts. Highly recommended, we would definitely consider a return visit.

Mrs Bailey

A beautiful family home, very comfortable, centrally situated for the beach, Marazion and St Michaels Mount. Well equipped with wifi, games for the children and outside space. Lovely red Aga, well equipped kitchen , hob, dishwasher, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave. Excellent.

Ms Crawford

This is a lovely grade 2 listed house: cosy and comfortable in a people-friendly village with two pubs and a great local shop. It’s very close to a quiet local beach, cafes and great pub with delicious food at Perranuthnoe and a beautiful walk to a fascinating church at St Hilary - we barely used our car.

Mrs Ames-Tull

We had a lovely stay at Montaza. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable, in a good location to reach some nice beaches and St Michael’s Mount. Dog owners need to be mindful of visiting in the summer months as a lot of beaches are only suitable for dogs before 10am and after 6pm so do a little research. “Parking for 2” at the cottage is a bit optimistic as the second space is in a garage and you can’t open your car doors once you’ve driven in, but there was always plenty of parking on the road outside. Goldsithney has a well stocked village shop and 2 great pubs.

Mrs Johnson

Goldsithney is a great location and Montaza was a really lovely place to stay. We explored lots of beaches and villages nearby and walked our dogs at Perranuthnoe beach every morning and evening. The village stores are well stocked with basics and we ordered delicious food to take away from the local pub a few doors down. We were very comfortable and had a lovely break at Montaza.

Ms Graham

Because of our work commitments we could not travel on the change over days. We were very pleased to get such a prompt reply to our request to arrive on a different date. Also liked that we had emails ensuring that all was well with our stay. Thank you had a lovely time

Mrs Azzopardi

Stayed at the montaza for a week. Lovely cozy and welcoming feel on arrival. Cottage was lovely and clean and had all the equipment and amenities that you would need. Cottage is close to two great pubs and lovely beaches and walks. There is also a little shop within walking distance which is very handy. Would definitely stay again and would recommend this cottage.

Mrs Bridget

A beautiful spacious house and a lovely cornish cream tea to greet you on arrival. Perfect

Mrs Jones

Beautiful house in a great location.

Mrs Rowland

Montaza is a lovely cottage. Warm, comfortable and very well appointed. Lovely walks from the cottage to the coast, perfect for our dogs. We would thoroughly recommend as a place to stay, it’s a great cottage in a super location within easy reach of lovely beaches and local attractions

Dr Beardow

Well located comfortable cottage ; well equipped.

Mrs Palmer

The cottage was warm and comfortable. The property is lovely but could do with a bit of an overhaul… in the way of equipment and decorating, The shower wasn’t great!! Shower head looks old and redundant, the control handle wouldn’t stay on warm was either hot or cold!! Property just looking tired!

Ms Jenkin

Beautiful Cornish cottage in a friendly village with plenty of room for 6 people.

Mr Harman

A nice large cottage in a lively, busy community ideally placed to drive to all the centres in south west Cornwall.

Mrs Graham

Fabulous location; walkable to local shop, pubs and local beach.

Mrs Ford

Lovely place to stay. The owners make you feel very welcome and provided mince pies and a pint of milk plus kitchen table set out with cups and saucers and tea bags. Heating easy to use. Dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer would be great for a family with children. The aga took a bit of getting used to for cooking, but it was fun trying and managed a Christmas dinner! Very well equipped with crockery and cooking utensils, but also the little extras like bin bags, cleaner, tin foil, doggy poo bags. The parking is for two cars but one is in the garage which was a bit tight, but we managed with two fairly big cars. Local shop and pubs very friendly. Easy access to Oenzance and St Ives and surrounding areas. Can't fault it at all and would love to go again.

Mrs Watts

Very week presented, homely and comfortable cottage. Great location for exploring Cornwall. Lovely beach a short walk away, with gorgeous coastal walks nearby. The village shop is a gem. And the lemon cake on arrival was a real treat. Definitely recommend this cottage.

Mrs Bowe

A really lovely property in a great location. Huge rooms. Garden space was lovely.

Mrs Luck

We hope to revisit again soon!

Mrs Stiefel

We had the most amazing Cornish Christmas, Montaza was the perfect place to stay thank you for all the extra special touches, will definitely be booking for the summer!!

Ms Harding

We had an amazingly wonderful and comfortable stay at the cottage. Would love to return. X

Mr Pollit

A fantastic cottage in a perfect location for exploring the area. A lovely sandy beach was within easy walking distance, as is the coastal path. The Crown, about 20 yards away, was the better of the two pubs for food. The owner was very helpful advising us of the dog friendly beaches and where to park and get the bus to St Ives. We would love to come back one day.

Ms Stamm

Montaza Cottage was great for our traveling group of 6 adults! The cottage is so quaint and comfortable, very well appointed. We had plenty of room to be together or be apart. The kitchen was wonderful, we cooked breakfast every morning, and even stayed in to cook dinner one evening. Highly recommend this cottage.

Mr Mosedale

It was nice being in a village with an excellent village shop, a post office and two pubs all within about 100m of the front door (the shop might be 200m!). For the size of the house it is excellent value for money and yet the more obviously touristy places (Penzance, St Ives etc) are within easy driving distance. As a family, we've stayed in a holiday house in this part of Cornwall for the last 12 years and have never been back to the same one twice. I think this will be the exception to that rule and we plan to book it for 2018.

Mrs Williamson

An excellent cottage for family of 5 and two dogs. Plenty of space and comfortable and near to good beaches.

Miss Graham

We really enjoyed our stay in Montaza. It was a superb location, ideally situated next to two pubs and a corner shop. It is only a 25 minute walk to an outstanding beach and a short drive to local tourist spots such as St. Ives, Land's end, St. Michaels Mount and the Minack Theatre. The cottage itself is cosy, welcoming and comfortable. We made good use of the garden, spending our evenings outside enjoying the last of the sunshine. We specifically liked the additions of the coffee machine and slow cooker.

Mr Ward

Lovely spacious cottage in a small village. Have to drive to get places but we really enjoyed our family holiday here.

Miss Newcomb

A fabulous cottage for our family get together earlier this month. The cottage offered a great base location with some lovely dog walks around the bridle way. The local pub was very welcoming to us when watching England in the world cup. The cottage offered everything that we could need-with the ability to allow more than enough space for 6 adults and a dog. Just a small warning in regards to parking in front of the cottage on the roadside (if you have more than 2 cars)-We witnessed 2 cars get hit in the 5 days that we stayed there. I have already recommended this holiday home to friends and hope to return myself. Also a big thank you for the freshly baked cake-it was delicious!

Mr Beard

Great location and a comfortable home to return to each evening. Will return.

Mr Thorpe

The size and style of this cottage is perfect for a family. The decor is beautiful very clean and comfortable. Everything you need and more. Loved the fire. Absolutely perfect really enjoyed our stay. ( and I’m fussy ??) Great location, parking very convenient. Little touches like leaving a pumpkin for the children was great, which we did and put out, so lots of local children called trick or treating made us feel very at home. Thank you perfect way to spend a week away.

Mrs O'Meara

Comfortable, clean, welcoming and homely.

Ms Kavanagh

The landlady was great. Calling to see everything was OK. The lovely touch of learning the cake and flowers was much appreciated. The cottage was beautiful and we'll stocked. Thanks for everything Teresa kavanagh.

Mr Hale

We all enjoyed our vacation - parents, grandparents & twins of two & a half. Location - very near lots of great beaches & places of interest. We did EDEN, Praa sands, seal sanctuary, Marazion, Minac theatre, Mousehole etc etc etc. we had an action packed week! Cake was welcoming & whol;e ambiance of cottage was lovely - my grandchildren fell in love with the dolls house -- please send us a stockist!

Mrs Chatfield

We really enjoyed our stay, the cottage was very well equipped, and welcoming. and central to everywhere we wanted to visit, including a local bus route, very convenient.

Mr Hallam

A lovely house, good location, comfortable amenities, plenty of bridal ways and lanes for cycling. Would highly recommend Montaza. Much appreciated the cake and milk provided.

Mrs Vine

We really enjoyed our stay in Montaza and recommend this cottage and company for a brilliant stay in Cornwall.

Ms Gonzalez

Absolutely LOVED our stay in this cottage. Cosy, welcoming and well-appointed. Fantastic home-made chocolate cake welcomed us on arrival. Mrs Brown popped by to welcome us in person and to make sure we had everything we wanted. Superb, central spot to visit all the main attractions on the toe of Cornwall. Local village stores, 2 pubs within 100m of the front door and 4 miles from Morrison's, Tesco's (24/7) and Sainsbury's Superstores. Take your pick! The local beach, Perranuthnoe, is a pleasant 1 1/2 mile stroll downhill and is a pretty, cove beach. It has a fantastic beachside café called The Cabin that does excellent food and home-made cakes. You need to go at low tide when all the sandy beach is exposed. St Michael's Mount is a must; a truly unique and magical place. Check the tides so that you walk on the Causeway one way and get the boat back. The 2 National Trust cafes on the Mount do fantastic food and have spectacular views of the mainland. We had a fantastic stay and would happily return.

Mr Dar

Cottage was lovely, a bit noisy from the traffic but not unbearable. We were very disappointed with the leak from the shower room as well as the bath tub caused due to sealant requiring remedial work. A plumber called out by the owner also agreed with me but owner decided against acting on the plumbers advice. This left us with limited bathing facilities. Very disappointed at owners attitude and will not be returning to Montaza.

Mr Espezel

Beautiful cottage superbly positioned for visits to the region.Lovely friendly community with shop and pub a stones throw. Great walks across farmland on paths with a really friendly farmer.

Mr Griffiths

Lovely, welcoming cottage in a great village within easy reach of Marazion and it's amazing beach (ideal for Dogs outside the summer season)

Mr Binfield

A wonderfully situated cottage in a lovely village close to both shops and the two pubs. A 2 minute drive into Marazion with breathtaking view over St.Michaels mount and easy access to Penzance, Newlyn, Mousehole and St.Ives. A well equiped and extremely comfortable cottage that we will definately be back to.

Mrs Packer

Lovely spacious cottage, excellent location. Kind provision of Christmas decorations, mince pies, cream and milk upon arrival - very welcoming!

Mrs Atkinson

Lovely cottage close to excellent local beaches and amenities. A very nice owner who was happy to help and advise
