Ivor's Barn is a gorgeous stone-built barn perched on a hillside above the small village of Gulval in the far west of Cornwall. Restful rural surroundings with an ancient village, castle and sea close by… that's the lovely little mix you'll find at this charming abode. Sleeping four, this rather lovely barn is a wonderful choice for a family getaway or a romantic holiday for two, and your favourite pooch is more than welcome to join you!

This gorgeous barn offers reverse level accommodation to take full advantage of the countryside and distant sea views. Arrive and walk into the spacious hallway hang your coats on the coat pegs and relax. Take the stairs up to the open plan living area. The fabulous kitchen has everything you might need for cooking up a breakfast feast or preparing a picnic to take with you to the beach. Relax at the breakfast-bar with your morning coffee and enjoy long, lazy lunches and sociable suppers at the dining-table. The sitting-area is flooded with light and has two comfy sofas basking in the toasty warmth of the wood-burner so you can stretch out after a day walking the St Michaels Way or coastal footpaths or exploring the little shops in St Ives.

On the ground floor you will find two bedrooms that wouldn't look out of place in a boutique hotel. No expense has been spared, and the lovely owner has made sure that you have the best night's sleep, with each bed adorned in luxury linens and locally sourced natural throws. The contemporary family shower-room has a wonderful shower which is perfect for washing away salty hair and sandy toes. You will also find the oh so handy washing machine on this floor too.

Outside, there's a private patio which is stepped in places and perfect for soaking up the sunshine during the day, al fresco dining and gathering around the fire-pit at night under the starlit sky.

Mr Compton

Lovely cozy and well equipped cottage. You can see a lot of thought has gone into this property and it is very pretty. The bedrooms are a little tight on space but upstairs in the living area there is plenty of room which more than makes up for it. Great location and we would definitely stay here again.

Mr Muscutt

Extremely comfortable, very well-equipped and beautifully decorated accommodation, located 2-3 miles from Penzance. Perfect for a quiet country stay in a lovely location, with fantastic views of Mount's Bay from the upstairs lounge/dining room. We loved the attention to detail in the cottage and the outside seating/bbq area. There was also a friendly, warm welcome from the housekeeper/owner next door. We really enjoyed our week's stay. Thank you
