Good or bad, we publish all the reviews left by the guests who have stayed at this property.

Mrs Hall

Beautiful location with outstanding views.Property very comfortable & well equipped. Kevin the owner looked after us & was very helpful.

Miss Burroughs

What a find! My dog and I enjoyed a lovely relaxing week at Larch Barn, surrounded by the beautiful sights and sounds of nature. Outside: fabulous views from the terrace and fields behind (very handy for a pre-breakfast dog walk); inside: clean, warm and luxurious. Location was perfect for us - The Donkey Sanctuary and coast just a few minutes easy drive away. On top of that, Kevin was such a welcoming, friendly host. I highly recommend Larch Barn and wouldn't hesitate to return - my dog agrees.

Mrs Wood

Beautiful barn conversion, extremely comfortable and gorgeous view from the deck. Perfect! Kevin was a super host and we definitely hope to return sometime.

Mrs Cunningham

Larch Barn is a wonderful place to relax and get away from your busy life! The barn is very comfortable and has everything you could need. The beds are comfy, bathrooms have plenty of hot water, the kitchen is fully equipped and there is lots of space (we had three adults and a pup). The log fire was a welcome addition on the wet and windy evenings. The views are just wonderful and the deck is a great space to watch the world go by! I can’t recommend it enough and am looking forward to our next stay.

Dr Carson

The barn is in a beautiful location. The surrounding trees were full of birds even in gloomy February. I watched bullfinch fight, deer crop the grass and jays bob about. There is no light pollution and the stars were superb, with the Milky Way visible. The day time views were also superb. The accommodation is lovely with all the rooms opening onto the elevated decking. It was the most comprehensive set of kitchen utensils I have seen for a while in a rental property (Including knife sharpener!). The host was very helpful and accommodating. Thank you!

Mr Kellow

Excellent cottage with views across the valley. Access slightly challenging due to small local roads (and road closures at the time of our visit). Well situated for the coast (Sidmouth and other seaside venues) and north via Honiton to the heart of Devon.

Mr Lister

A beautifully appointed and spacious cottage in a wonderful rural location. The west facing deck is a wonderful asset from which there are terrific views. We enjoyed a fantastic week exploring South Devon.

Mrs Cox

If you enjoy rural peace which is easily within reach of the coast, Larch Barn is ideal. Beautifully designed and presented, with every comfort, the property has wonderful views over the valley. For dog owners, there are lovely walks straight from the door.

Mrs Capstick

Kevin was a great host. He popped round on our arrival. Told was of places to go and eat and also a couple of good walks which was very helpful. The barn was well furnished and had good views over the valley. Was lovely to be able to open the doors and walk up to a field without having to put the dog on a lead. The sunsets from the balcony were lovely. We had a wonderful week and would recommend Larch barn .

Mrs Jellis

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and it was lovely to be surrounded by nature. Kevin, the owner, was such a nice chap.

Mr Argent

Second stay at Larch Barn this year. Excellent as always thank you for a relaxing holiday in such a stunning location.

Mr Argent

Just like coming home. We first visited Larch barn in 2017 and had a very enjoyable and relaxing holiday with every intention of returning on a regular basis. Unfortunately family events followed by COVID meant that we were not able to fulfil that plan. Finally in 2022 we have made it back and it was just like coming home. From the moment we walked in the front door to standing on the terrace taking in the view. Just as we remembered the comfy furnishings, luxurious fittings and beautiful surrounding countryside for walking our dog made our week very relaxing and cosy. Thank you, we will be back hopefully sooner this time. In fact we have already made a booking for later this year!

Ms Critoph

Wonderfully secluded and private, with a luxurious feel. Our 2nd visit, as good as the 1st, though the weather was less kind.

Ms Peetoom

Larch Barn is in a tranquil spot with wonderful views of the country side. The cottage was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed for a terrific holiday!

Mr Biggs

Very comfortable, clean and well appointed barn conversion, with a wide terrace with wonderful scenic views over the Sid Valley. Super walks straight out from the barn. Very quiet and peaceful situation, but with quick access to the main roads.

Mr Pring

We had a lovely week at Larch Barn - it is decorated to a high standard, comfortable and well-equipped with spectacular views both from inside and from the generously sized raised deck. The only sounds were usually bird song or the wind in the nearby trees. Bliss. Definitely want to return.

Mrs Wright

We highly recommend this property. The best place we have stayed so far. Beautiful accommodation which is decorated to a high standard. Incredible location with amazing views.

Mr Woolley

Exceptional !!

Mrs Masters

Although we there in October, the weather was fine and the cottage was warm and cosy. Perfect for either a relaxing or an active break.

Miss Goodfellow

An ideal escape for those wanting to recharge, get away from it all and completely relax in luxurious surroundings.

Mrs Mason

Larch Barn offers everything for a perfect holiday. Location, comfort, high standard of furnishings and the view from the decking area across the valley is perfection. One of the many highlights of our holiday was watching a beaver displaying it's lumberjacking skills in the nearby River Otter.

Mrs Brett

Excellently decorated and equipped cottage with fabulous views. If you want peace, except for birdsong, there can be few better places to be.

Mrs Lee

Made to feel welcome. Surrounding countryside lovely but views from Larch Barn not as photos on website. They give a false impression and need to be updated. Beds comfortable but very disappointed to find old stains on sheets and throw. This property basically needs some TLC and pillows/cushions cleaned. Crockery chipped, sun loungers rusty. Overpriced for what you get and for the reasons above would not recommend this property. Sorry to be negative, but just honest.

Mrs Gibbons

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Larch Barn. It is an exceptionally good and attractive barn conversion, well thought out, good quality. Ideal one level which was helpful for my husband who has mobility problems. Kevin was kind and helpful. The weather was not good! .. wild, windy and wet most of the time, but we were able to enjoy the fabulous view from the big picture windows across the valley to the fields and hills .. especially as the sky and clouds changed so often. One time we saw a double rainbow. The weather did not dampen our enjoyment. We would definitely return.

Ms. Hanna

Such a lovely peaceful location, no noise pollution only birdsong. Beautiful views around the barn. Friendly, approachable owner.

Mrs hannaway

We had a lovely week’s holiday at Larch Barn, accommodation and location perfect. Beautiful views. I would definitely recommend Larch Barn for a holiday.

Mrs Harris

A FANTASTIC LOCATION, SPECTACULAR VIEWS.

Mrs Reynolds

Absolutely fantastic location and accommodation

Dr Mayfield

It's a lovely place - so comfortable, cosy and peaceful with beautiful views. Classic were also very helpful with the multiple changes we had to make due to lockdown rules.

Mr James

This is a lovely cottage which is very well designed and with a fantastic range of facilities. It is perfectly placed for the coast and the countryside of East Devon. The location is private and secluded and there are wonderful views over the Sid valley. Kevin was a very helpful host. We visited in winter - but there was still plenty to do and lots of places to explore. We even managed lunch on the patio of a restaurant in Lyme Regis. Not bad for December. Well worth coming back to.

Mrs Gill

Very much enjoyed our stay at Larch Barn. The owner was the perfect host, accommodating and helpful without being intrusive. Great place in a stunning location away from the bustle of the towns and with gorgeous views. The wood burner was a luxury we very much enjoyed on the cold nights! If you want somewhere quiet to explore East Devon / West Dorset you’ll be hard pressed to find somewhere nicer than this.

Mr Vallis

Superb accommodation, one of the best we've stayed in.

Mr Glynn

Great place for a family holiday although slightly off the beaten track, down narrow lanes but easy to find. As a result, it is extremely quiet, it would not be advisable to walk anywhere (i.e. the local pub) from here, particularly if dark and a slog uphill. Watched a deer wander past the front door one morning. Very well decorated in modern, contemporary and tasteful décor. Lovely bathrooms. If you like "dark skies" for stargazing, you would love this place - bring your telescope. do try the alpaca treks up the hill! wifi plenty enough to do what we needed to do no problem. The deck and view is great but due to a lot of rain didn't get a lot of use :( Owner helped with one very minor oversight quickly, no issues during our stay.

Mr Jewsbury

Probably one of our favourite holiday places. Larch Barn is very well designed, constructed and appointed, in lovely surroundings. It's only a small point, but we found that the duvets were rather warm (10.5 tog) for the warm June weather, and we take our own non-feather pillows as we are allergic to feathers! Overall we were very comfortable and had a wonderful peaceful and restful break.

Mrs Wilson

Larch Barn has everything needed for a cottage holiday. Location tucked off the beaten track but not that far to the coast and other attractions. Very well equipped and comfortable. The countryside views and access to the East Devon Way were a bonus.

Mr Knowles

Location is very peaceful , fantastic views from the deck and to see all the wildlife in the garden , Including roe deer almost every day if your quiet , buzzards , owls , pheasants and a host of small birds .

Ms Arnell

A fabulous property, beautifully furnished and in a quiet, stunning location with far reaching views. With lots of local walks from the doorstep it is the perfect place for a week away with the dog.

Mrs Jones

The barn was the best place we've ever stayed in, everything was just perfect! The furnishings were so so comfortable and top quality, we had absolutely everything we needed in all of the rooms and didn't want to leave! Kevin was so welcoming and helpful and we loved having little Lily on our first morning to relax with in the barn. The area was stunning and perfect for walks, runs, the hills, the sea and the nearby towns were all beautiful, we love Devon!

Mr Young

A truly relaxing week spent at Larch Barn. Enjoyed the welcome hamper including Prosecco and scrummy West Country Crunchy Ginger biscuits. Very comfortable beds. Good en suite facilities with walk in shower + bath and atmospheric log burner. Star gazing from expansive terrace a must. Sidmouth and all of East Devon easily accessible including Donkey Sanctuary, Seaton Tramway and River Cottage etc. Week passed too quickly - highly recommended.

Mr Ellis

This is a fabulous cottage in a beautiful location with some of the finest views of the surrounding countryside you could ask for.

Ms Tulloch

peaceful , beautifully chosen decor Charming decor Friendly host Well equipped V comfy beds Lovely Spacious terrace

Miss Parker

Wonderful accommodation, above and beyond. Loved sitting on the decking as the sun went down listening to the bird song... even though we were in our coats and hats!

Mrs Hall

This is a fantastic cottage in a beautiful location. The views from all rooms are stunning. It was a perfect spot to relax by the fire enjoying family time and views across the valley. The owner was very helpful and friendly. It is within easy reach of lovely coastal walks and beaches.

Mrs Turville

The property is of an excellent standard and a lovely place to relax. The view from the veranda is spectacular.

Miss Mills

The property is absolutely stunning in it's design, layout, materials and furnishings used. It had a really spacious feel to it and was extremely comfortable. It felt like more than a home from home. I actually, probably like everyone else wish that I lived in it!

Mrs Hunt

The owner was one of the most helpful, attentive owners we have had contact with, nothing was too much trouble and he contacted you on the first day and then made himself available if you needed anything, without contacting you unnecessarily

Mr Condie

My wife and I would most certainly like to use the cottage again in the future.

Mr Crosley

This cottage is ideal for a lovely peaceful holiday with fantastic views, but also within easy reach of facilities and Sidmouth and all it has to offer.

Ms Cooper

This is a wonderful cottage with a friendly and hospitable owner, set in a beautiful location. Ideal for visitors of any age, an added bonus is the access to the owner’s fields and lovely walks from the door. The cottage is all on one level, with accessible shower, so well adapted to visitors who are not wheelchair users, but have limited mobility. We hope to visit again soon.

Mrs Nixon

This property is exactly as it appears in the photographs. It is a beautiful, spacious Barn converted to an exceptionally high standard, very private, exceedingly well furnished and extremely comfortable. The view from the large deck is simply stunning, the tranquil Devon countryside and peaceful surroundings only gently interrupted by the sounds of nature. Kevin the owner is genuinely welcoming, and kindly provides a generous welcome hamper as well as many other thoughtful extras. We have returned from our holiday calm and rested, relaxed and restored, and would definitely love to return to Larch Barn again in the future.

Mr Mulder

For a quite and relaxing holiday this is the place to be. Beautiful barn with magnifisent view.

Mrs Ashpole

We had a lovely week in Larch Barn. Very comfortable and spacious. Lovely location, very quiet. Ease of visiting locations in area and a lovely pub, Hare and Hounds 10 minutes away, good food and very dog friendly. Our dog is elderly so found the paths around and in the grounds of property difficult, due to being on the side of a hill. Owner very knowledgeable of area and helpful. Thank you for the extra rugs for our dog who has difficulty with uncarpeted floors.

Mrs Mann

A stunning barn conversion in an equally stunning setting. It all looks beautiful in the advert and it more than lives up to expectations. Thank you

Prof Fingleton

We absolutely adored this barn conversion. It has quality and comfort throughout whilst nestled in a fantastic rural location. Kevin the owner is very welcoming and has equipped the bedrooms, ensuites, lounge and balcony with everything that you could need for a very comfortable stay. The views from the balcony were breathtaking and perfect for watching the sunset and star gazing. Parking for 2 cars was easy and the location was perfect for visits to Sidmouth, the donkey sanctuary and many other attractions. We strongly recommend Larch Barn and hope to return soon. Thank you Kevin for a fantastic holiday.

Mrs Barnard

Larch Barn has that delightful uncluttered feel of a holiday cottage yet still provides everything needed for a home from home experience. Kevin, the owner was present and helpful without being intrusive and he really made the holiday with some little extra touches. If you like a gentle stroll there is a great walk through the adjoining fields and back through the wood and for something more challenging there are paths and bridleways accessible directly from the cottage including the East Devon Way which passes through some beautiful bluebell woods - I would love to return at bluebell time. There is a lot of wildlife to see around the area including some Roe deer who visited the gardens most days during my visit. Sidmouth, Branscombe and Beer are really easily accessed and there are amazing coastal walks and lovely places to stop for afternoon tea. There really was nothing not to like about this holiday.

Mrs Ashfield

Please feel free to publish as the barn is one of the best we have stayed in and excepting my two large dogs who behave, made us feel very welcome. We have a wonderful week, the Barn is so lovely warm, clean and beautifully decorated, making relaxing is so easy. The underfloor heating was excellant and shower brillant for my tall fussy husband. The short walk around the attached land with the views complemented the relaxing feel. The deer in the garden, seal on the beach and the high standard of food in local pubs, cafes and restaurants. Only a short drive to coastal points of interest and in February the crowds were missing, and we worked around the weather. Kevin the owner is on site and is very consensus that all our needs were met, which was easy as we had none.

Mr Abnett

Larch Barn provided an excellent venue for our winter break with friends. First rate accommodation & contents with great attention to detail. It is on our 'return to' list - there are not many on that! It would get 4.5 stars - if I could do half a star.

Mr Roberts

We really enjoyed our stay at Larch Barn, despite the poor weather the Barn was very warm and cosy and a great base for my wife, baby boy, dog and I to go and explore the surrounding area in the day and hunker down in the evenings. The owner was amazing and very helpful with recommendations and assistance when we needed it. We’d love to come back again!

Mr Jewsbury

Larch Barn proved to be the perfect venue for our week exploring the beautiful East Devon countryside and coastline. We have stayed in some lovely places over the years but this has to be one of the best in every way and we would highly recommend Larch Barn for its superb position, excellent facilities and very high standard of accommodation

Mrs Renshaw

The location of this property is beautiful , with the view from the deck area into the valley giving spectacular views.
