Ms Clark

We loved our stay in Hatway Hideway! It was just want we were looking for on a weekend away. The location was perfect - we wanted a countryside location with lovely views and our own space. The cottage was cleverly designed to have what we needed and was very comfortable. The host was lovely - he checked we were settled in and had everything we needed.

Ms. Letson

A beautiful tiny cottage where you can really be a peace.

Ms Burgess

A perfect location, just a short drive to nearby beaches. Beautiful views, very peaceful and relaxing. Very comfortable accommodation, cute little cottage with lovely outdoor area to take in those views. The owner Kevin was very friendly, respected our privacy completely. Highly recommended.

Mrs Richmond

Eleven stars. The country cottage of childhood fairy stories. Surrounded by spectacular views of an AONB. Gentle, closely-mown paths lead up, by woods, to the owner's fields. I have mobility issues and was able to walk up there with a rollator. Very warm welcome from helpful, tolerant, unobtrusive host. Cottage extremely well equipped down to details often forgotten. Owls, bats and billions of stars appear at night. Almost a dark area. Incredibly quiet and peaceful down a small lane frequented only by the odd tractor at this busy time of year. Would have stayed forever.

Mr Hammond

The cottage was in a idylic setting. It was beautifully furnished, cosy and clean ideal cottage for a couple. Within easy travelling distance of Sidmouth and other coastal seaside towns like Lyme Regis. I would highly recommend it if want a peaceful holiday in a lovely tranquil setting.

Mrs Cleverley

The cottage was beautifully furnished, cosy and clean. It had everything needed and despite being small was very comfortable. The cottage has glorious views and is so quiet and peaceful it made for a truly relaxing stay.

Ms Woodcock

Lovely cute small cottage. Nice views.

Ms Pathirana

Hatway Hideaway is a lovely cottage with a big garden in a secluded location! Lovely views and peace and quiet! The host is very friendly and helpful ?? we enjoyed our short stay and our dog did as well!

Mrs Williams

A lovely setting and a very sweet cottage. It is a bit small for two people, I would think. The owner (and his dog, Lily) was a treasure and so gracious and kind to me. My thank you doesn't begin to cover it.

Mrs Richards

A great location, easy distance to Sidmouth in a very peaceful spot. We felt the cottage was a tad small, it felt a bit like camping.

Mr Fitzpatrick

A little gem of a place. Walked through the door to find a box of biscuits and a bottle of wine awaiting our arrival. The Hideaway is absolutely stunning and perfect for a couple. Kevin left us to settle in and let us know he was available if needed. Couldn't fault it. We were sad to leave but will probably be booking again very soon. Shame I can only give 5 stars...

Ms Simpson

We were very happy with Hatway Hideaway. A beautifully presented well equipped cottage in the most beautiful of locations. Highly recommend 5*

Mr Drury

I have never felt so at peace. So happy and relaxed. This hideaway was just that. A perfect getaway with views to fall asleep to and a bed to match. What an incredible perfect slice of heaven

Mr Bloomfield

Kevin the owner was extremely helpful and friendly, especially as we were caught in a storm! We would like to thank him for his kindness. Ian and Kim.

Mr Lewton

A great little cottage in an idyllic countryside setting. Peace and quiet but not to far from lovely places to visit. Mr Fox the host is very friendly and helpful. We will definitely return.

Mrs Cartlidge

A gorgeous very small cosy cottage in a beautiful, very relaxing setting. Perfect to chill after a busy day of walking and exploring the lovely surrounding area. Would certainly go back and Nigel was lovely!

Mr Bowler

Perfect for a getaway for a couple.

Mrs Williams

Lovely tranquil setting. Perfect for relaxation but also very well placed for visiting Beer, Lyme Regis, Sidmouth, and great for walking. Thoroughly enjoyed our week.

Mrs Groom

If you like peace and quiet then this is the property. Lovely little cottage with amazing views. Watched the sunset every evening with a glass of fizz. Amazing location. Patio area with table and two chairs to sit out in the evenings. Fields nearby to walk and let your dog have a run. Only 15 minutes drive into sidmouth for a day at the beach. Sea shanty cafe and beach is a good place to go for a day out.

Ms Swinbank

Lovely little cottage up a Devon Lane. Very quiet and lovely views. Minimal cooking facilities (as described) but generally well equipped.

Mr James

Hatway Hideaway is a lovely cosy cottage for two and is pet friendly, it is spotlessly clean and as everything you could need for a weeks stay. There’s a nice shower/wet room, bed room with a large bed and a sitting come kitchen area with a wall mounted tv. Outside there is a nice patio area with a bbq, we used to sit and have breakfast there while taking in the views. The cottage is out in the countryside in a raised position giving it fantastic views across a valley also making it very peaceful and quiet. You can follow a path from the cottage door further up the hill with a path cut around three wild flower meadows which opens up the views even more, we used to walk our dog up there every morning we spotted a deer one morning. In the top field there’s a swing picnic tables and fire pit. Hatway is a great base away from it all to explore the local area of Sidmouth, Branscombe, Beer and Seaton with some lovely pubs and cafes to try. The local pub is the Red Lion back down the hill in Sudbury which is a locals pub and you are made very welcome. The beach we used the most was at the end of Old Beer road, you can park free on the road and there is a very nice cafe called Jurassic bites and toilets to use throughout the day. From there there is a nice walk over the end land into Beer which we recommend. We had a fantastic stay at at Hatway Hideaway and would definitely recommend it for a quiet getaway.

Mrs Hill

Plenty of walking in surrounding area but need a car to visit sea or attractions.

Mrs Stewart

An absolute gem of a place, ideal for a romantic quiet week away. I would highly recommend, the owner Kevin was on hand should we need him but more than happy to let us relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings and peacefulness.

Mr BURNETT

A small but adequate cottage in a beautiful location ,very quiet would have no reservations about returning

mr. Stam

Being able to select on bed size would be a great addition (e.g. king, queen, double single etc.) as this cannot always be readily distinguished from either photos or description.

Mr Collie

We had a lovely stay and the location was more than idyllic. The birdsong, fresh air and views from the patio was incredibly relaxing. Our hosts were warm, communicative and very helpful. Great access to sea and countryside. We went for dinner at The Holt on their excellent recommendation . We would definitely stay again.

Mrs Newitt

Mrs Nash

Highly recommend for a short getaway in summer or winter. My husband, I and our cocker spaniel had a wonderful stay.

Mr Morgan

We loved our stay. The cottage was very cosy and well equipped, location and views was amazing, host was very friendly and very helpful. Recommend a stay here to get away from it all.
