We had the perfect stay at Shepherd's Oak! Paul is an amazing host, easy to comunicate with and he let us check-in early and check-out late. When we arrive he explained us how to use the log burner hot tub and suggested few walks to do in the area. We stayed 3 nights and on our last day we came back after a day out and Paul's wife had empty, cleaned and got the hot tub to a perfect temperature for us; we thought that was such a lovely touch from the hosts, really appreciated! The shepherd's hut is so cosy and has all the kitchen equipment you need. Having alpacas as next door neighbour was so funny and they are such a great company. The place is secluded, private and so quiet, but at the same time you have the town just 5 minutes down the road. There is not a bad thing to say about this place, if you are looking for a little getaway to relax this is the perfect accommodation!

Lovely shepherds hut, located in a peaceful and private, undisturbed area. Local shops within 5-10 minutes drive, as well as pubs. Paul was friendly, approachable and very easy to contact. He explained everything clearly and was happy to help. Paul even let us check in early and check out late, and provided us with extra material for the hot tub and log burner. We had difficulty in getting the fires going (would recommend bringing a lighter - match sticks are provided however we went through ALOT), but this may be due to the time of year we went (end of October). Shepherds hut was cosy, 2 ringing electric hob with small fridge, basic kitchen appliances provided. Hot water intermittently worked due to the flame outside going out (We did go to Shepherds oak when there was a storm). Llamas were in a field opposite the hut and we were able to feed them. Overall lovely experience and would recommend this shepherds hut to family and friends!

This was a beautiful getaway! Paul was a super host, he met us on arrival at a time convenient to us. Showed us around the grounds and hut. The location is perfect, the morning views are picture worthy and it is so peaceful. The Alpacas made a great interaction, Paul left some food to feed them. He was on hand when we needed some help lighting the fire for the hot tub, but he was with us in 5 mins to help and stayed so the us until he was happy that it fully going. The locations is also fantastic. You are 10/15 mins from the city amenities but when you are at The Shepards Oak it is extremely peaceful and you feel remote. Overall, the getaway was just perfect. I would highly recommend to anyone, we will be returning!

On arrival we were met by lovely friendly owners who explained everything regarding the wood fired hot tub etc . The Shepherds hut was so cosy and clean. Food was supplied to feed the Alpacas which was a lovely experience. The views of the countryside were amazing. It was so quiet and peaceful. If you want to stay somewhere and switch off from the outside world then this is the place for you.

So lovely! Really enjoyed our stay here very cosy. Paul was lovely and was very accommodating. 10/10 recommend

Lovely relaxing break at Shepherds Oak. Hosts Paul and Barbara are super friendly and helpful as were the team at classic cottages. Will definitely return in the future. Great views from the hut. Far enough away from everything to feel secluded and private, but just a short drive to lovely beaches, villages.

Shepherd’s Oak is simply wonderful - from the very comfortable and cosy interior to the great outside spaces and the hot tub with fabulous views over the valley. A superb idyllic stay close to nature but with everything we needed. Beautifully quiet and private but the hosts were available if we needed anything (which we didn’t!) It’s a perfect place!

This is our 2nd stay here and we absolutely love the property and its location, we had a fantastic stay, calm peaceful and relaxing. The hot tub was great in the evenings for star gazing too. Well equipped and clean and tidy. The host is super and very accomodating - thank you Paul we'll see you again soon

This property is a real gem! The location and views are stunning, and the hut was very well equipped with all that you need, the hot tub was fantastic! all the ingredients are there for a great relaxing retreat. The owner Paul was very attentitive and a great host. My partner and I loved our stay and didn't want to leave, so we've booked up to go back again in a few months, thank you Paul for all your help and we'll be seeing you soon

Beautiful farm with privacy and comfort. Hot tub was amazing and was lovely to have the smell of the wood burner too. Perfect location for Exeter with a taxi fare of only £10 making it very affordable. Very modern pod, total glamming experience!

The setting was absolutely beautiful with plenty of wood provided to sit in the hot tub and looks out into the rolling countryside. Brilliantly comfortable good sized bed for a small space. Friendly family dogs who came to say hello was a bonus! Lovely farmshop a 30 min walk away selling plants and snacks! The alpaca were very curious and entertaining, and a quick text to owner Paul meant we were able to feed them! Three nights was not enough - I could live here!!! Would highly recommend if you want to switch off entirely and take in the calmness and simplicity existence sometimes lends us.

Great location, pub only 5 min drive, shops about a 10 min drive. Peaceful, host didn’t bother us once, it’s great for a relaxing get away.

The hut is clean, comfortable and perfectly situated. It’s easy to get to and the owners are on hand via text if you need anything. Great for visiting the city of Exeter and nearby local farm shops. The facilities are great for cooking (hob, bbq, toaster, kettle) and every utensil you need is supplied in the kitchen. The hot tub absolutely makes the stay so wonderful. The view is amazing! And the alpacas that visit every morning and allow you to feed them with the food provided is an absolute joy. A total pleasure to stay here.

Shepherds oak exceeded our expectations. We had 3 lovely days there - a real escape from the world with beautiful views and wonderful alpacas. We would definitely like to return.

Fantastic shepherds hut and very friendly and helpful owner. It was a relaxing and very enjoyable experience that I will remember fondly. Beautiful location and a real experience to spend the evening in the hot tub chatting and looking at the stars. The dog loved it too! I recommend opening the door in the morning and having a cup of tea in bed enjoying the amazing scenery.

This shepherd's hut is in a private and idyllic location and we had a lovely relaxing time here. However, we were not as comfortable as we would have expected and feel that the accommodation would really benefit from being upgraded. For the money we paid, it did not feel the special experience we had hoped for.

Amazing So peaceful and relaxing, Paul was really welcoming and ensured we knew we could go anywhere on the property. Sunrise in a wood fired hot tub was stunning and so close to the moors / beach. Thank you for an amazing holiday break, the reset was much needed!

The cottage is located in the most perfect setting with fields and woodland all around. Inside the hut we had everything we could have asked for. The hut was also spotlessly clean and very well laid out. The host was very friendly, polite and professional. he was always on hand to help answer any questions we had. We would highly recommend this place to anyone!

We stayed at the Shepards hut for a long weekend and we loved it! The location is beautiful! The log fired hot tub is a perfect way to relax! It's close enough to Exeter town centre to venture out but far enough to feel like your in the middle of nowhere! I would honestly recommend this to anyone wanting a great staycation! :)

Loved our stay at Shepard's Oak. Overall it was a pleasure to stay here and I would love to return. Waking up to the sound of birds and a beautiful sunrise was a lovely treat and I will miss it.

Overall a really nice stay. Beautiful views, cute looking hut, comfy bed, friendly animals. Paul was more than happy to help if we needed anything. We had a couple of hiccups on our stay like the hot tub not heating up and our hot water turning off one night. But we stayed at the end of October and it was very cold and windy so that could have been why. I would definitely stay again, probably in the summer though.

Lovely shephards hut and get away from busy life. Great location and surroundings were perfect. Only slight disappointment was the host, looking at other reviews we were expecting very welcoming and helpful hosts however we met one man who was friendly enough but only showed us around for 5 minutes, told us to leave the keys in the door when we go, and didn’t reply to our message saying we left!

We had the most amazing time at Shepherd’s Oak. We only left the property a couple of times to go for walks. Spent a lot of time in the gorgeous hot tub. Amazing to admire the beautiful views.

Great break away if you enjoy peace and quiet with lots of dog friendly walks and pubs should you like that.

Fantastic property in a amazing location. The scenic views are truly breathtaking. Perfect to fully relax but close enough to explore Exeter town. If you are intending to enter Exeter town, download an app called OlaCabs. Set your location to Stoke Hill (5 minute walk left out of farm entrance). This will pick you up from the location alsmost immediately and cost us £3.80 with the 50% joining discount on the first 5 trips. The taxi back on the app will then take you straight to the farm for a similar price. Highly recommend this place and cannot wait to return at some point in the future.

The perfect retreat. Great respectful and quiet neighbours (alpacas!). The hut was clean, comfortable and cosy with all you could want provided. Paul the owner was great and very helpful when we needed instructions to light the hot tub. A huge thank you!

This is really a nice, small but lovely place to go and relax in and to get away from the city life. All you need is there for a good short stay. The views are amazing.

The shepherds hut is in a wonderful, idyllic, peaceful location. You have no idea Exeter is so close. The Alpacas and hot tub made the stay extra special and watching the view at night with a cold drink on the veranda, proper chilled us out. If staying trips to beautiful Sidmouth and Dartmoor are a must. Thankyou

We had a lovely stay at shepherds Oak. The hut is extremely cosy and has everything you need for a little break away. The views are beautiful and the surrounding area is lovely with a great walk through the woods across the road. We had an extremely peaceful stay aside from the wind but that only added to the cosy feeling. Thank you for a wonderful stay and we will be sure to recommend.

Wonderful little hut! Very cute space with a few basic amenities. The hot tub is wonderful and being surrounded by alpacas is certainly an experience.

Our hosts gave us food to the feed the alpacas on the next field and brought us a freshly caught mackerel. It was little touches like this that made the whole experience a memory to last forever.

Absolutely fantastic short break! We felt like we were in the middle of nowhere and were never disturbed. The hot tub was lush and so were the gorgeous alpacas! We will recommend and definitely returning the future

Absolutely brilliant stay, welcoming owners, beautiful setting, facilities were above and beyond, cosey but everything you need, the log fire hot tub was great to relax in, beautiful views and close to everything you might need should you wish to leave. Shepherds oak was a dream! Booked for my girlfriends holiday which landed on a bank holiday, I thought would be a night mare however booking through classic cottages and the hosts Paul and Barbara were amazing! Will defenitly return! The place was clean and had everything you wanted for a short break and the hot tub was amazing!

Perfect romantic getaway!

Shepard's Oak was the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary. The hot tub and chiminea were used every day of our stay and the views are amazing day or night! Couldn't of asked for a more relaxing, cosy place to spend our week. The owners were very helpful and friendly, we would definitely recommend Shepard's Oak! Thanks x
