The Dolls House
Welcome to the Dolls House. This super charming stone cottage makes the perfect abode for that special getaway. Set in the magical grounds of Trafalgar Barton Estate, nestled on a south-facing hillside, The Dolls House has magnificent elevated views over Branscombe Vale and out to the World Heritage Jurassic Coast at Branscombe Mouth. This super cute (luxury) cottage offers everything you could wish for and is the perfect romantic treat.
With a reverse living arrangement, you are guaranteed the most picture-perfect views from almost every window, making this superb abode a great year-round retreat. Whether it's snuggling up with a glass of something tasty and a good film or wrapping up in front of the fire-pit and enjoying the magical night time show the unpolluted skies treat you too, you will most certainly find your happy place here at The Dolls House, as there is nothing quite so special as watching the glorious wildlife as the sun goes down.
Your location is equally as special as the house itself. This tranquil location is in the east Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (now known as National Landscapes) and has fabulous walks straight from the doorstep. Try the National Trust's walking trail that takes you around this historic village, or a 15-minute walk to the beach.
For that celebratory night out, or perhaps just giving chef a night off, the village has the added bonus of two excellent pubs, one at either end of the village, including the award-winning Masons Arms. The nearby shingle beach has a private car park, an exercise-area that welcomes dogs and the Sea Shanty Beach Cafe serving delicious seafood.
Within the grounds of Trafalgar Barton there are three cottages at your disposal. Why not book all three and make this year's holiday one to remember. Trafalgar Barton house sleeps twelve guests and The Coach House can accommodate a further seven lucky guests, allowing you to holiday on a very grand scale. There really is so much to see and enjoy in this magical part of Devon, it would be a shame not to share it.....or perhaps next time!

Stunning interior and exterior. Incredible peaceful location.Small but everything well thought of. When they saw how much hanging clothes we had brought provided extra hanging space flowers and even a Birthday card. Our hound loved it and was completely safe in the secure rear garden. Thanks for making our Birthdays ??

Fabulous spot and outlook. The Dolls house really is like a dolls house. Delightful, clean and private. Upside down, which was a good plan, as upstairs is a lovely sunny room. Great little enclosed garden for dogs, with a bbq. There is a fabulous pub, Masons Arms (a good 20 mins walk away, 5 min drive) with excellent food, in the village, but do book, as it is very busy, as nowhere else in the village to eat, other than the Fountain at the far end of the village and it’s more of a local pub, But good food. The local beach a 5 minute up & down, drive away , is all pebble beach, all dog friendly, but fairly big waves! Our spaniel leapt over them, but when it was rough, we kept him well away! A pool of mountain stream water fills on the beach for a heavenly doggy swimming pool. And the Sea Shanty cafe is EXCELLENT fish and chips & Crab sandwich etc , very special & v popular . The most incredible walk there, up East Cliff to Beer is an hour & 1/4 or so walk, very steep at the start but well worth it even for a not so fit person like me! Safe for dogs all the way. We didn’t do the coastal walk (lower down) as apparently it’s a bit dangerous for dogs in places . Up over the cliffs is stunning. A must ! Still dreaming of it now x

Beautiful location with stunning views but the property is let down somewhat by the wash basin in the bathroom. Take note of the photo of the loo in the bathroom. The sink in the cistern is the only wash basin. If you are happy to put up with that, it is a lovely place to go. Easy walk to the beach where there is a good cafe and the Mason's Arms is a nice pub with good food.

A lovely location, beautiful views and really peaceful. A great base to explore this part of South East Devon. We found The Dolls House to be a quiet and restful retreat.
