If you are looking for a comfortable quiet and tranquil location in a beautiful rural setting this cottage is highly recommended. We received a warm welcome from the Host and the estate staff. The cottage is well provided for in respect of crockery and cutlery etc, comfortable beds and two superb showers. We are frequent visitors to the Island and as a result of this stay we have booked two further stays in the forthcoming months. Wish we had found Barton Lake Cottage before!

Lake Cottage provided us with a wonderful holiday. The accommodation is so spacious and comfortable especially the beds. The location is so tranquil and the lake with the leaping carp is very special. A walk to the private beach is a must. The location for Osborne House and Cowes is ideal.

This property has to be one of the best holiday cottages we have ever stayed in. Set in the beautiful grounds of Barton Manor it gave everything and more….even a wooded walk to the private beach. Well appointed with everything you need for a comfortable stay. With only one other holiday let on site, it is very quiet and private. Definitely a place to relax and unwind!

The cottage is set in a beautiful estate with peacocks, ducks and geese on the lake just outside the property. Inside the decor is tasteful and the kitchen is exquisite and fully equipped for anything you should need during your stay. The beds were comfy and bathrooms modern. The cottage was warm and clean. We had a wonderful stay there. The walk to the private beach was an extra bonus - we went in March but in the summer it would be perfect for a picnic and watching the boats go by.

Spacious cottage in pretty, peaceful, location, next to Osborne and within easy distance of car ferry from Southampton.

Our second stay at Barton Manor Lake Cottage greeted us with favorable weather as we arrived on a gloriously sun-drenched Friday afternoon. The cottage overlooks a picturesque lake, where each morning we eagerly awaited the sight of leaping carp and the visit from three regal and resplendent peacocks. Entering through the French doors, we were immediately embraced by the spacious and inviting lounge. Adjacent, the well-equipped kitchen quickly became the heart of our stay, offering ample room for culinary adventures. Both bedrooms were tastefully adorned, adding to the charm of our one-week retreat. In essence, our return to Lake Cottage and the Isle of Wight was just as delightful as our visit of two years’ ago. With endless activities and sights to explore, we eagerly anticipated each return to the cottage, relishing in its breathtaking lake view and leisurely strolls to the private beach in the late afternoon.

We really enjoyed our holiday, and would recommend the Cottage to almost anybody. It is large and well furnished. Large well kept grounds in a very peaceful area.

Lake cottage is fabulous. The location is great, very quiet and peaceful and lovely night skies but so conveniently placed. We used public transport all week, no need for the car. The cottage is very well appointed with quality fixtures and fittings. The owner is a nice guy, always friendly. Excellent value for money.

Located on a private estate neighbouring Osborne House, very peaceful and relaxing, plus daily visits by peacocks.

Barton Lakeside Cottage was a beautiful and peaceful place to stay would recommend.

This cottage is in a magical setting with the sun filtering through the trees. The beach is a short walk away through the woods with plenty of shells and seaglass for the treasure hunter! It was a treat to drive around the island and be there so quickly we were able to squeeze in spontaneous visits to the Donkey Sanctuary and the Bembridge windmill. Best visit was the Model Village at Godshill - yes the models are amazing, but the planting is the best part, no surprise they give a discount to members of the RHS.

Luxurious, well equipped cottage in peaceful, beautiful surroundings. An absolute gem of a place!

It was our second visit to this property and we loved it just as much as last year. It is spacious and the beds very comfortable. A beautiful new kitchen had been installed which is very well equipped. There is so much space around the property and it is very peaceful. The walk down to the private beach is lovely and it was warm enough to go in the sea this year. We saw red squirrels and a green woodpecker very close to the cottage on several occasions.

Very comfortable cottage in convenient location, especially for Osbourne House…..but nowhere is far away on IOW! Beautiful grounds with very friendly and helpful owners . Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, a lovely & relaxing home away from home. Thank you

Lovely cottage on the edge of the Osborne Estate. Beds very comfortable and kitchen reasonably well equipped. Just one thing to beware is that there is an unfenced pond in close proximity to the property so not suitable for young children.

A peaceful but well located cottage in a tranquil part of the estate. Everything we needed was provided and we were made very welcome and comfortable by the owner and the classic cottages staff. We will definitely be looking to book again in the future.

Thoroughly recommend this property. It is so spacious and comfortable. Two fabulous bathrooms and just a joy to stay. Could have happily stayed at the house and just walked the estate.

Great location. Very luxurious and spacious cottage, but make sure you bring everything you need apart from bath towels and hairdryers.

Property was above & beyond anything we were expecting. Would love to stay here again.... Am just going to count up my pennies ...

The photos don't lie - the rooms are huge! A gorgeous, quiet venue with many little extra touches.

Really lovely property, one of the best we have stayed in and we travel a lot! Very warm, log burner with loads of free logs. Large, comfortable rooms, amazing wet room and very thick, soft towels, comfy beds. Very peaceful with a lovely view of the lake; wish we had stayed when the weather was better so we could have sat outside.

Absolutely love this property. So nice and quiet loved sitting reading my book by the pond. Stayed here last year and recommended it to a friend who then booked and stayed the week before us this year. We have now booked again for next year. Our little dog Dexter loved meeting the pigs and the walks from the cottage. We had friends who live on the Island visit us for the afternoon they had not been to Barton Manor estate and they couldn’t believe the beauty of the place and how peaceful and quiet it was. Truly a wonderful place. Cottage clean and comfortable and many a night sat outside round the fire pit.

This is one of the best holiday cottages that we have used. Some places use poorer quality furnishings and equipment that are just not up to the rigours of letting, but here everything has been installed of good quality, giving the items a longer life, and a more pleasurable use for the renter. Amazingly large master bedroom, whilst the smaller bedroom is still of good proportion. Kitchen/Diner is huge and well equipped.

We loved our stay in Lake Cottage. We had daily visits from the peahen which was lovely. The setting is beautiful and provides a great base for exploring the Island.

The house is part of the private Barton Manor estate which made it feel like going back in time to a more leisurely lifestyle. The house and grounds are amazing. It makes a very quiet and peaceful holiday in fabulous surroundings. This would definitely be the property we went back to on the island.

Barton Manor Lake Cottage is a delightful, secluded and relaxed place to spend time away from home in and is very well situated to access all parts of the island. We were very lucky to have good weather whilst we were there but you would be well catered for in bad weather as the cottage is very warm and cosy with the addition of a log burner.

Warm and quiet.

A magical, tranquil place. It was once Queen Victoria’s chicken coup but now it’s a handsome, splendidly equipped, peaceful roost for people like us to fluff their feathers and crow about. Owner Dawn and Head Gardener Lester are certainly ‘good eggs’ who ensured that we felt welcomed from the start, and their warmth was amplified by the superb wood burning stove A terrific break. Very enjoyable stay in a lovely, spacious and well-equipped cottage. Great location on peaceful private estate, with easy access to island attractions. Original booking dates moved because of Covid lockdown - Classic Cottages were flexible and kept us informed.

Been going to the Isle of Wight for many Years. This is by far the best cottage we have stayed in. Loved the location so peaceful and quiet yet everything is on your doorstep. Enjoyed sitting outside in the sunshine reading my book listening to the birds. The cottage has everything you need for a great stay. Loved the walk down to the beach. Such a good time we have booked again for next year.

A lovely, cosy waterside retreat that provides easy access to all the island has to offer or a haven to just chill out and relax.

Such a well planned holiday home with good quality furnishings,sumptuous beds and wonderful showers. We had everything we needed in a peaceful and private setting and, of course , B.M.L.C. is dog friendly. Oska (whippet) was entertained by the rather foolhardy pea-hen's couple of visits. Mercifully only a small stray feather drifted down from a handy tree when the the latter took refuge ! Lily, (elderly whippet ) looked on approvingly from her basket in the shade of the willow tree!

The cottage is absolutely the loveliest place we’ve stayed in in a very long time. The amenities are great, the location was spot on for us and the peace and quiet was very much appreciated. We were reluctant to leave after our week on the estate, we’d definitely recommend it...the visiting peacock was an added bonus, he’s very majestic!!

For those visiting Osborne House this is an ideal location. It was quiet, surrounded by trees but with lots of landscaped space around it. The cottage was very well furnished and equipped and had beautiful bathrooms. Lovely large rooms, open to the roof and an excellent approach down a private drive and good parking. Beautiful historic site with links to Osborne. Would definitely recommend and would love to return in the future for a longer stay. We were visited twice by a gorgeous little pig which was a very pleasant surprise.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Barton Manor Lake Cottage. It is a very comfortable, spacious, clean and pretty property. The wood burner was a lovely touch on the colder evenings of April and one level living suited us well. Everything worked and was of higher quality than average. We can’t wait to return.

The cottage was very well equipped and every eventuality was catered for. We loved the size of the cottage, the location and the space around the cottage to walk the dog. Our kids loved the table tennis and the private beach. The cottage is in a very private and peaceful location which was perfect for our needs. The cottage has easy access to East Cowes, Osbourne House and Newport.
