Situated within the southern neolithic ring of Knowlton Church and Earthworks and perfectly positioned under a Dark Sky Reserve, is The Old Dairy; a stylish and modern conversion that retains wonderful original features.

Stepping into the cottage you are met with a wonderfully spacious room encompassing the kitchen, dining-area and living space. Sumptuous furniture and high-quality finishes make this retreat a truly relaxing place to stay. Tucked away in the corner is a roaring wood-burner, making The Old Dairy ideal, even in the colder months.

From the dining-area there are patio doors out onto your enclosed courtyard, which is south-west facing, so you will be able to sit out with a glass of fizz and watch the sun set over the countryside. You are sure to be delighted with the well-equipped kitchen and as it is open plan, it lends itself perfectly to spending holiday time in together.

As this property is all on one level, it flows effortlessly from room to room and the two gorgeous bedrooms are positioned at either end, which gives a great level of privacy. Both bedrooms have their own en suites. The icing on the cake of the main bedroom is the glorious roll-top bath, situated in front of the patio doors; enjoy a long soak with the doors open onto your private courtyard.

Whether you are a couple looking for a bit of extra space, a group of two couples or a family, The Old Dairy is sure to meet your needs. Did we mention two of your four-legged friends can join you too? They're sure to enjoy the endless countryside walks.

The Old Dairy is situated on a working goat farm and is one of four converted farm buildings, tucked away in a gated courtyard. The owners live in the original farmhouse and are on hand should you need them. You will be able to see the comings and goings of the animals and possibly some farm vehicles but you are assured of the utmost privacy. On the land behind The Old Dairy, there are four polytunnels that house some of the farm's friendly goats. There is ample parking just outside your front door.

Good or bad, we publish all the reviews left by the guests who have stayed at this property.

Mr home

We appreciated the lovely treats on arrival. The cottage was fitted out and furnished to a high standard. The beds were extremely comfortable and the outside yard was nice for our morning coffee. We enjoyed being introduced to the rare breed livestock by Louisa and her family.

Mrs Llewellyn

The cottage was really good and we were given such a warm welcome both before and during our stay. We had no issues with the log burner it was simply a matter of reading the instructions properly!!

Mrs Crutcher

Everything about The Old Dairy exceeded our expectations. This is a beautiful property that is obviously very well looked after by the owners and it’s so comfortable and cosy that it’s makes an excellent holiday destination all year round. There is plenty to do close by for children and there are also some lovely forest walks and local pubs serving good food, so everyone is happy. We hope to be back again for another stay soon!

Mrs Dodd

This was a first class property, well equipped with nothing spared to make it feel luxurious. The electronic gates made it very secure. It was very convenient to head out to various coastal locations. Our worry regarding the goats was unfounded as there was no noise or smells from them. Highly recommend.

Mrs Edwards

Lovely cottage. As a family of 4, we were so happy with our stay. The pictures don’t do justice of just how spacious it is. I cannot recommend this cottage enough. We will definitely be returning. Congratulations to the owners on doing such a great job!

Mrs Rozario

Our recent stay at The Old Dairy was just lovely in every way, from the welcome G & T on arrival to the bath salts to enjoy in the roll top bath. The refurbishment of the The Barn is finished to a very high standard and quality throughout together with beautiful decor. Also, to wake up next to the goats was a delight , they are very quiet lovely creatures and it was lovely to watch them over the fence with morning coffee and in the evenings with a glass. We very much hope to return and would highly recommend this jewel of a find in a beautiful part of Dorest. The Rozario family ,Surrey

Mrs Burke

The Old Dairy farm is a lovely and cosy home. We enjoyed our time and wished we stayed a bit longer than 6 nights. I highly recommend this property and would book with Louisa (owner) again and stay there longer next time.

Ms Bainbridge

No expense seems to have been spared in turning an old farm building into the high specification, fabulous and beautifully furnished Old Dairy. Whilst one does not necessarily intend to undertake Cordon Bleu cooking in a holiday cottage, the kitchen has been thoughtfully equipped to the highest level. The Old Dairy is conveniently situated for exploring nearby Salisbury and other attractions.

Mrs Morrison

Wonderful in every way. Stunningly styled, extremely comfortable and in great location. I would have no hesitation in recommending The Old Dairy and am highly likely to return.

Mr Pilkington

Delightful setting and cottage was well equipped. Enjoyed watching lambing, and we had a wonderful and enlightening tour of the farm…goats, pigs, cows and bull! Met all the family, who were only too happy to tell us the history of the farm etc. A most enjoyable stay….and as a bonus the sun shone !

Ball

The Old Dairy is a special place. The owner has put great thought into the decor, ensuring it is fully-equipped and supplied local information on where to eat and what to do. I enjoyed getting a tour of the farm next door meeting some rare breeds. The property is the perfect direction to view the Dorset sunsets. Would absolutely recommend staying at The Old Dairy!

Mr Levett

Excellent property and hosts. Very relaxing cottage if you can ignore the road noise.
