Reviews

Wreath Farm is in a rural setting overlooking open countryside, just 10 miles inland from the beach at Lyme Regis and the stunning Jurassic Coast.

The farmstead now has a new life and Wreath Farmhouse has been beautifully renovated and is presented in an easy living contemporary style. A really large kitchen with a central island, dining table and beautiful flagstone floor welcomes you to the heart of the house. There is an adjoining garden-room - which makes the perfect dining-room - and which overlooks the enclosed gardens. A tranquil sitting-room and a separate snug each have a wood-burner and internet connected Smart TVs making this house a great choice for family and friends, whatever the time of year.

Two staircases lead upstairs where there is the added luxury of four en suite, double bedrooms. There are two 'master' bedrooms with super-king sized beds. The first has an en suite bathroom with a fitted shower over the bath and the second has an en suite shower-room. A further double room also has an en suite shower (there is a step up to the shower). The final bedroom, which has 'zip and link' beds, can be presented with twin beds or a super-king bed. This room has an en suite shower and can be accessed from the main landing or via the second stairs, sharing a link through walk-in wardrobe with the first master bedroom and making it a flexible option for families with children.

There is an untouched private wildlife area in the meadow below the garden where you will see all manner of wildlife, including resident barn owls. Make the most of the binoculars and notebooks that are provided to identify and record what you see from the garden. The Chard Nature Reserve is less than half a mile away and you are also on the doorstep of the Blackdown Hills National Landscape, which runs along the Devon/Somerset border and provides a beautiful backdrop to the garden. Add fossil hunting at Charmouth beach to the list of activities and all the family will have a holiday to remember.

Whilst Wreath Farmhouse is totally separate and private, it is possible to integrate this lovely accommodation with two other properties on site The Apple Press (4744) and The Cowshed (4743). If booked together, these properties (all part of Wreath Farm) sleep 18 + 3 cots. The owners live in another barn conversion on site and are on hand if you need them but all of the properties have a good degree of privacy from each other.

Customer reviews

Good or bad, we publish all the reviews left by the guests who have stayed at this property.

Mr Checkley

Well appointed property in an out of the way location overlooking countryside. Great for a large family or group of couples getaway. Whilst the owners are new to the holiday cottage rental business, they and the Classic Cottages team were excellent in responding promptly to any issues we had. A thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable holiday, thank you!

Mrs Wookey

We had a fantastic few days in Wreath Farmhouse. It was spotlessly clean, light and super comfortable. It was very well equipped with great views and we wouldn’t hesitate to come back for another stay.

Mrs Woan

We as a party of 8 found Wreath Farmhouse catered for our needs perfectly. We found the property spacious and very clean on arrival. The area is quiet and peaceful whilst 2 large supermarkets are only 5 minutes drive away. We visited Sid mouth, Lyme Regis, Weymouth and Portland Bill lighthouse, all of which are lovely places. We all would like to return in the future.

Mr McConnell

This property has so much to recommend it. I have been renting holiday homes for my family for many a decade and can honestly say this is one of the best. The country location is superb, surrounded by farmland, it is quiet and secluded. The house is very well-equipped, and well-furnished and in an excellent state of decoration and with a huge garden. While just in Somerset, it is close to seaside towns like Lyme Regis and Charmouth in Dorset and Seaton and Beer in Devon. What a find!

Mrs Moody

Wreath Farmhouse is a wonderful place to stay and is beautifully presented. We enjoyed a peaceful week in this lovely house and particularly enjoyed the view across very pretty countryside from the garden room - despite the at times awful weather! The house is warm, tastefully equipped and very well laid out. We would happily recommend staying here and the owner was very pleasant, helpful and discreet. Many thanks.

Mrs Wall

I booked this house as I wanted somewhere really special to celebrate my 50th birthday with my family. It definitely did not disappoint. It's in a very quiet location with amazing views and if you are lucky you will see deers in the wild field at the bottom of the garden. Plenty of room for everyone with 2 reception rooms if you don't all want to watch the same thing on TV. There is a little porch area you can leave all your coats and shoes without bringing them into the house and a lovely big kitchen with a breakfast bar. I really could not fault this house at all.

Mr McLusky

A very good house, we had a fabulous few days there!

Mrs Biddlecombe

Wreath Farmhouse is a wonderfully roomy and comfortable property, excellent for friends or family get-togethers.

Mrs Hopkins

A very well designed property, which has plenty of space for 8 guests. There are only two parking spaces immediately opposite the farmhouse, but plenty of space behind the cottage complex. On arrival there were flowers, biscuits and tea, and the whole property was beautifully clean. The timing of the heating coming on, was lacking, but luckily it wasn't cold, and in the evening a log burner was delightful. There was plenty of hot water. All the kitchen appliances worked, and it was a well stocked kitchen, only lacking a few items that have been reported. We had a very happy long weekend, and are hoping to return next year.

Mrs Springett

Fabulous house, great location and so handy for so many sightseeing spots. We would definitley like to return one day.

Mrs Smith

Beautiful peaceful comfortable well equipped farmhouse

Mr Shepherd

Wreath Farmhouse is a beautiful property set in a quiet location at the end of a country lane. The gardens are expansive and great for anyone with a dog. Local amenities are good, Lidl and Tesco’s are nearby in Chard, but a car is needed. The popular seaside town of Lyme Regis is about 35 minutes drive.

Mrs Goryn

A great cottage with lots of room and everything you could need. Excellent quality bedding and towels.

Mrs Webb

We've stayed in many a Classic Cottage, and Wreath Farmhouse didn't disappoint! What a great house it is for a friends'; get-together! In fact, the 'wow' factor hit us as soon as we walked through the door - the spacious kitchen leads into the conservatory which has far-reaching views over the lovely, partly-wild garden and countryside beyond. The lounge is very comfortable too, and each of the bedrooms is light, airy, and en suite - another bonus! Add to that a very roomy hot tub and walks straight from the house, it's as near perfect as a holiday home can be. Mustn't forget to mention the owners who couldn't have been more helpful - we'll definitely be going back!

Mrs Brown

Perfect cottage- spotlessly clean, excellent facilities and furnished to a superb standard. Lovely, peaceful location.

Mr Bishop

Great accommodation for 4 couples allowing for a very comfortable house party.

Ms Willis

We loved the views across the fields from the conservatory and the large fenced garden which was ideal for our black Labrador. The hot tub was also fantastic - large, hot, comfortable - one of the best I have used. The layout of the house is good and the general decor and feel of the place was luxurious, calming and comfortable - plus 4 ensuite bedrooms was a real treat. We liked the games and enjoyed playing Cards Against Humanity with our teenagers. We didn't even have time to check out the table tennis or all the nearby walks, so we will have to come back.

Ms Chapman

Beautiful Cottage with stunning views across the countryside. Beautifully decorated with spacious rooms.

Ms Hazell

A lovely spacious house in a peaceful location with views across the countryside.

Mrs Gore

A stunning cottage. Would love to return one day.

Mr Catt

Would highly recommend this spacious and welcoming home.

Mrs Cooper

Wreath Farmhouse is a real home from home, a perfect place to unwind.

Mrs Pengilley

What a beautiful house, perfect to simply sit, relax and enjoy the view when not exploring the area. The owners are lovely, very welcoming and informative. They have made the farmhouse a wonderful retreat. Classic Cottages communication was very, very good from start to finish. Altogether we had a wonderful break. Thank you.

Mrs Riseley

The property was lovely. Very comfortable. Everything there you would want. Super location. Plenty of books and games. Nice welcome tray. The whole place was spotless and really lovely. I’ve spent many years in travel and this is one of the nicest places I have stayed in. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again. We were a party of 6 friends. Plenty of room. High standard of accommodation and excellent location. Super facilities.

Mrs Allen

can t wait to go back!!

Mrs Cranston

Beautiful well equipped cottage in a stunning location. If peace and quiet is what you are looking for then this is the place for you.

Mr Fuller

This is a superb place to stay which has everything you need. The owners were also very helpful with a couple of questions we had.
