Ivy Cottage
Imagine life in a tranquil Dorset village and Ivy Cottage is just the sort of place you may picture in your mind. Set in the midst of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (now renamed National Landscapes), the cottage is situated in the pretty village of Cattistock. This traditional ham stone and flint, Grade II Listed, terraced cottage has been renovated to provide a delightful country retreat, full of character, yet with modern kitchen and bathroom facilities.
The ground floor of this charming property has a small cloakroom, sitting-room with wood-burner and modern kitchen/dining-room. This leads out into the conservatory, overlooking the sheltered south-facing patio and enclosed garden, which is a real sun-trap. Charming, turning cottage stairs lead to a double bedroom with king-size bed, a twin bedroom and a modern family bathroom with a rainfall shower. Ivy Cottage is close to the village church of St Peter and St Paul; the church clock chimes on the hour, which adds to the charm of this village location. There is a well stocked village shop and post office on your doorstep as well as a reputable pub, The Fox and Hounds Inn, which is only 100 yards away.

Superb cottage! Very comfortable and well equipped. Lovely secure garden for our dog. Friendly village, including shop and pub. Lovely surrounding countryside and easy drive to local towns and the coast.
MRS PAGE
Such a lovely cottage, very well equipped and comfy beds. The village is quaint with thatched cottages and nice welcoming pub with good food. Well stocked village shop with local produce. Great base for exploring. Lovely sunny garden and conservatory. Great for relaxing after a day out and about.
mrs Hardman
It's rare for me to give a 5 star review but Ivy Cottage was really spot on - super comfortable, clean and well equipped - and the secure garden was brilliant for the dog.
Mr Thatcher
Ivy cottage is a gorgeous cottage in a lovely sleepy village. We love to stay at different cottages on our dog walking trips round the country. Ivy cottage ticked all the boxes for us.
Mr Green
Ivy Cottage was very easy to settle into - parking right outside the front door, lots of storage space and a nice, lawned garden for our two pugs to enjoy running around in. The whole cottage felt nice and warm, and the log burner was a welcome addition on the cold evenings. The smart TV, induction hob and shower were all excellent too. We enjoyed a late Sunday lunch and lunch again on Monday at the Fox and Hounds, where the staff were very kind to our dogs, one of whom is a fairly nervous rescue dog. We hope to return.
Miss Page
Ivy Cottage is without doubt the best provisioned cottage I have ever stayed in. Very comfortable, lovely local pub and shop, and lots of places to visit. Everyone was very friendly.
Mr Smith
I think stairs should be mentioned as people with mobility problems would not manage them
Mrs Byers
The cottage exceeded our expectations! It was lovely and warm, tastefully decorated, well-equipped with all mod-cons yet retained its country cottage feel. Comfortable furniture. We met the owner near the shop and he encouraged us to let them know of any problems. There were none! Village interesting and we had a delicious pie at the Fox and Hounds pub on Monday. Just a shame not many people there. Happy to give them custom as the staff were friendly. Village shop/P.O. Very useful, well stocked with basics and more unusual treats as well as hand crafted gifts managed by helpful staff. Fascinating church. We would definitely return as there are plenty of places to explore.
Mr Adams
Lovely cottage in a nice, friendly village and well located for exploring Dorset, a lovely county. Plenty of things to do and see and good places to eat out. Thoroughly enjoyable holiday.
Ms Brown
Ivy Cottage is a very comfortable and well equipped cottage. We had everything we needed for a lovely week in a really good location.
Mrs Burdett
A lovely cottage with secure garden in a great location to visit many lovely places. A lovely village shop open till 1300 each day and a nice pub too. We had the most relaxing week with our two little dogs who came everywhere with us!
Mr Hunt
We had a wonderful stay in this cottage that is full of character and very well equipped. During our stay, in January, we were always able to park directly outside. Cattistock is very well placed for exploring both inland and coastal areas of Dorset
Mrs Hellawell
A warm, cosy and comfortable cottage - the owners have thought of everything for their guests.
Mrs Johnson
Very comfortable, well equipped cottage in excellent location for exploring the area.
Mr Whitehorn
Really pretty comfortable cottage the garden was very dog secure. The village store was well stocked and everyone was so friendly with lovely owners nearby too. Once the pub is open again it will be perfect!
Mrs Gillen
We had a wonderful week in the lovely Ivy Cottage and only wish we could have stayed longer. Cozy, comfortable, clean, bright, inviting, and full of charm. It truly felt like a home away from home and we settled right in. Extremely well-equipped with everything one could possibly need, right down to the picnic basket and hot water bottle. Excellent water pressure in the shower. A nice big fridge/freezer. Comfortable beds with quality linens. The wood burner was easy to use and such a delight to relax in front of on cooler evenings. We very much enjoyed watching the village square activity from the front windows: horseback riders, the bus collecting school children in the morning and dropping them off in the afternoon, farm tractors trundling by, people walking to the lovely, well-stocked village shop/Post office. One morning we even caught a glimpse of hounds from the nearby kennels running through the streets! Never noisy, however. Not much traffic and even quieter at night. And to the rear of the cottage the peaceful, quiet calm private garden to enjoy the birds and a view of the impressive church tower. Pretty walks right from the door. A favorite was the walk through the churchyard to visit the sheep on the other side. And a longer walk to nearby Chilfrome. We were disappointed to discover that the village pub was closed for renovations, however we were happy to find good alternatives in nearby villages. We especially enjoyed the Spyway Inn after a must-do walk at Eggardon Hill. We can’t recommend Ivy Cottage and the friendly village of Cattistock highly enough. Of all of the many, many holiday homes we’ve booked over the years, this one is at the very top of our list. We’d return in a heartbeat next time we’re in Dorset.
Mrs Turner
This cottage is in a perfect village setting with easy access to main roads to get about . The cottage is comfortable, we felt very at home . It has a lovely garden space which even in February you could tell was a lovely sun trap. The book shelf had lots of local books of interest, I was fascinated to read about the village during the war and then spot various places mentioned on my regular morning walk .
Mr Scott
Perfect facility in excellent location
Mr Kellaway
Probably one of Dorsets best loved villages. We lived for many years in the village. You will not be disappointed! Little changed in the last 60 years.
mrs Heskett

Mr Tiley
Lovely location. Nice pubs around, lots to see and do within 30 minutes drive. Lyme Regis and West Bay very accessible from here. Cottage is very well furnished, a true home from home experience. Well stocked local shop, plus local tea rooms within walking distance too.
Mrs Toy
We really enjoyed our stay at Ivy cottage. Well equipped, comfortable accommodation and ideal for our dog with a lovely enclosed garden. Beautiful village with the friendliest of people. Lots of good walks from the doorstep and further afield. Rather disappointed that the local pub was closed for refurbishment.
Mr Giles
We had a fantastic time away in Dorset, still lots for us to discover as Dorset is a new holiday destination for us. We found lots of lovely beaches and pretty villages to walk around and pubs to visit. Ivy cottage was a excellent base for us to stay and the owner was very friendly letting us know if we needed anything to just pop over to his house, but he was very respectful to leave you in Privacy and enjoy your holiday. We totally recommend this property. Angela Andy and Boris the springer
Ms Fuentes Riaza
Ivy Cottage is very comfortable, cosy and well equipped. The Village location is excellent to explore the area without having to drive too far. The garden was nice and secure for our dog. The people we encountered in the Village were also very friendly. Milk, lovely biscuits and a bottle of wine as a welcome pack was a nice touch. Thank you.
Mrs Clough

Ms Spiller

Mrs Varley
One of the best cottages we have stayed in……. High spec kitchen, amazingly comfy beds and such a lovely garden. Loved everything about it.
Mrs Welsh
A very comfortable and well equipped cottage in a lovely friendly village. Ivy Cottage was perfect for us and our dog. We have no hesitation in recommending.
Mrs Laws
Ivy Cottage is a beautiful, comfortable cottage in a lovely village. It was great to be so close to the village shop and pub and to lots of lovely walks. Despite being in the centre of the village, it was very peaceful, with the most noise being due to the occasional tractor passing by. I was a little concerned about the church bells being so close, but they only chime on the hour and we couldn't hear them in the house. It was lovely to listen to them (and be able to see the church tower) from the garden. The garden was totally secure and our dog loved it! We would happily come again!
Mrs Morris
A very nicely decorated cottage in a lovely friendly, unspoilt village.
Mr Kellaway
Situated in one of Dorsets lovely villages. 6 miles from the Cerne Abbas Giant,10 miles from the sea @ West Bay. (Broadchurch)

Fabulous cottage in a pretty and very friendly village! Beautiful enclosed garden for our dog Molly too. We had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay in beautiful Dorset. The lovely owners greet you on arrival and are on hand just across the square if you need anything.

Mr Pereira
Wonderful, comfy cottage in a lovely Dorset village. Tastefully furnished and a great, sunny, well enclosed garden for our dog. Village pub and village store a moments walk away. Plenty of lovely walks on the doorstep and so many interesting places to visit nearby. The Owners left a lovely welcome pack for us and our dog and were a great source of local information. Definitely on our list to return to! John, Roz & Alice the Dog.
Mr Stephenson
Just perfect in every respect.
Mrs Palmer
Ivy Cottage is by far the best we have had the pleasure of staying in. The location is beautiful and local shop and pub provide excellent fare. The cottage is very well equipped with good quality appliances. The garden is well kept and totally secure ensuring peace of mind if children or dogs are playing there. The owner of the cottage lives nearby and was very helpful and friendly.
Miss Purdom
A really lovely, well equipped cottage.Owners very helpful and friendly, as were the villagers.Attention to detail was spot on,and a lot of thought has obviously been given to providing a perfect stay. Greyhound Inn worth a visit as was the local Fox and HoundsGreat property for dogs with walks straight from door.Parking just outside.
Dr Luker
It was a great cottage for both us and our dogs. There were lots of good walks locally. The dogs slept in the kitchen, it was a really dog friendly village. The cottage was well equipped and the owners had provided all the basics (washing up liquid, salt etc.) and more. It was great to be able to walk to such a welcoming pub with good food. I’m not used to a local shop so I probably didn’t use it as much as I could, it seemed to have all the essentials. West Dorset is beautiful and we plan on going back
Mr FOWLER
Great location with shop and pub very close. Also good childrens play park and lovely church and nice local walks. Very friendly village. Owner helpful and welcoming. Ideal for a couple. Very tastefully decorated and equipped; a very comfortable cottage. No wardrobes, but hanging rails. Parking on road outside door was easy. Spiral stair case. Visiting grandchild thought it fun - like castle. It was not a problem for us, but may need guidance for those with any mobility problems. Would enjoy a return stay.
Mrs Donovan
Lovely cottage and garden, beautiful setting, friendly village and very helpful owner.
Mr White
We, two couples, had a wonderfull time at Ivy Cottage - we love this nice historic building with a warm and cozy atmosphere. The location of the cottage near the jurrassic coast and lots of historic attractions is absolut perfect. The garden of Ivy Cottage is sunny and an ideal place to relax after a trip. The rooms are well equipped and we had some nice cream teas on the terrace, a real sun trap. We also like this little village with very friendly people! We had every day some nice little walks around the village! A two minutes walk away we found the The Fox & Hounds Inn with excellent food! We will recommend Ivy Cottage to friends and family and hope we will come back again.
Mr Tomson
The cottage has been refurbished to a very high standard, particularly the kitchen and bathrooms including very high quality appliances. The owners had obviously given a lot of thought to ensuring you have everything you need for an enjoyable holiday with your dog. There was even milk, local biscuits and a bottle of wine (& dog chew) waiting for us on arrival. We particularly liked the garden which was fully enclosed with a high fence so that we did not have to worry about our dog getting out.
Dr Pearce
