Barn Owls Cottage

The cottage was beautifully decorated, well equipped and spotless. We were greeted by the family and felt very welcome. We had a lovely stay and would not think twice about returning.

Beautiful, clean, pet friendly, comfortable cottage set in a very rural location just a short drive from Bridport & the Jurassic coast line. The cottage is set between a property occupied by the owners & a smaller rental, with a spacious, secure rear garden & ample off road parking in the gated farmyard to the front. The accommodation is well planned & fitted to a very nice standard. The living room is spacious & leads through to a dining area & well equipped kitchen. Beds & bedrooms are comfortable & very adequate with stunning countryside views. All in all, a lovely rural cottage with easy access to the beautiful coast. We would not hesitate returning or recommending this holiday cottage.

A very peaceful location with beautiful views. A lovely enclosed garden which was very reassuring having dogs. Lots of room in the cottage which was generously equipped. The range style oven took a bit of thinking about especially as we were only there for a week. Good parking outside the cottage and good directions were supplied by the owners. Would happily return.

It was our second year staying at this gorgeous property and once again we had the most wonderful time. It feels homely and is beautifully decorated throughout. It’s perfectly located to explore different areas of Dorset and has a picture-perfect pub just a short walk away. Would highly recommend!

Lovely cottage in a peaceful location, although still in easy reach of the fabulous jurassic coast and their lovely towns. The cottage was comfortable with owners on site who were very friendly and helpful. Our two labs loved the garden and settled well considering it was their first holiday. Wouldn't hesitate recommending this property.

We loved the gorgeous farm setting and the beautiful enclosed garden, which worked out great for our dog too. The family were extremely friendly, welcoming and very helpful. The cottage interior is light and cosy at the same time, especially on a couple of rainy days. The beds are very comfortable. Good distance to great market in Bridport, Hive Beach Cafe, Symondsbury estate & Lyme Regis. Great for countryside walks and very good restaurants. Our teenage daughters loved the area - it will be appealing to all ages. Thank you for the wonderful week.

Overall this is one of the very best cottages we’ve ever stayed in. We loved the finer details of the carpentry joinery, we enjoyed using an Aga style cooker for the first time and the location was also superb. Everything had been well thought out with the holidaymaker in mind. We left wanting to stay longer!

Barn Owls is a great cottage in a great location for exploring Dorset. Close to woodland walks and to the beaches. Bridport was a great find - lots of independent shops and all dog friendly. Would book again.

Very warm, cosy and comfortable cottage in a really pretty village away from the masses who flock to the seaside resorts but still easily accessible. Loved it (could have stayed longer) as did the dogs with totally enclosed lawned garden with super countryside views.

Barn Owls Cottage is beautifully furnished, comfortable and well equipped. The view from the house over the garden is lovely and we had a very relaxing stay. The owners were on hand and checked that everything was ok. We loved the scandi feel and appreciated the high quality equipment and furnishings.

The cottage is in a great location for short drives to a different beach every day and the lovely walk to golden cap. Fantastic location for a holiday with young children. There are lovely views of the valley from the garden and it feels very peaceful. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen high quality so easy to feel at home as everything looks so nice. The local pub has a glorious garden and we went twice. Eggerdon hill had amazing views in the day and at sunset, it is so close and well worth going. Hive beach cafe was so close and we enjoyed this too.

Such a wonderful property set in the beautiful Dorset countryside. Just outside Bridport and easy access to all the great beaches Lucy and Charlie were excellent hosts and have created a beautiful cottage that has everything you will need for your stay. Highly recommended and will definitely be staying again.

We had a lovely time staying at Barns Owl Cottage. The cottage itself was very comfortable with amazing views of the countryside. We were surrounded by farmyard animals which our little boy loved! The location was also brilliant with many places to visit nearby.

Beautiful property in a lovely setting, ideal for exploring this lovely part of Dorset and for walking the South West coastal path. The cottage is beautifully presented with everything you need and the owners were extremely welcoming but equally discreet to leave you to enjoy your break. We hope to return next year.

Barn Owls Cottage was every bit as beautiful as the photos. Stylish and relaxing interior helped us all unwind. The location was brilliant with plenty of great places to eat and stunning coastline & beaches, which the kids and the dog enjoyed. Walking the dog in the woods next to the cottage was great too. The water tasted amazing! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The cottage is really lovely, the perfect place to stay with our daughter and family. The owners were so friendly and very kind. It was a holiday my granddaughters will cherish, infact they said it was their “ best holiday ever” and they have been abroad several times! I would highly recommend Owls Barn .

Very friendly and helpfull hosts, very nice and pretty decorated Cottage and such enchanting sheeps grazing behind the Cottage! The garden is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the wonderfull countryside. We felt like home and we did not want to go, we could imagine to stay forever!!!

A lovely holiday cottage and perfect stay for us and our small children. Plenty of toys for them to play with and things to make it easy when away from home such as; wooden cot, steriliser, stairgates, bedguards and even children's books in their room! Great location on farm but easy access to towns, villages and beautiful coast. Cosy cottage with delicious water! Log burner and sitting room made a perfect base for family evenings . We would definitely like to return .

what a lovely place and so much more was provided - fantastic range of toys for children, lovely local walks for the dogs, extremely helpful owners. We had a great time! Great place, very helpful owners, great for taking dogs with local walks on the farm as well as nearby. Lots of toys available for children - my grandson loved all the tractors and farm toys Good pub nearby and the beaches nearby are also fantastic. Dog friendly West Bay was great - it was always possible to take dogs where we went

We had a fantastic weekend away in the beautiful, cosy cottage - would not hesitate to book again. It was clean, comfortable & well-equipped, & looked exactly as it did in the pictures. The teapot, cups & saucers, biscuits & flowers laid out on arrival was a lovely touch.

We loved this cottage! Perfect for our family New Year break together as a late Christmas celebration. Very homely and comfortable. Charlie was very welcoming. Open fire Logs and kindling readily available Well equipped kitchen - lovely plates, etc Table in lounge area meant it was sociable and great with the fire going! Lovely rural setting, yet near main roads Milk and biscuits on arrival were appreciated

We have just spent 6 nights at Barn Owls Cottage. Everything was available to make it an enjoyable stay. Beds are super comfortable and the cottage is beautifully decorated, furnished and very well equipped. It was lovely to be able to bring our dog too and there is easy walking in the local area and further afield. Local pub very friendly! Lucy the owner and her parents were on hand for any questions. All in all a most relaxing holiday in a beautiful part of the country. Pete, Sue, Sue and Eileen and Heidi the dog.

Lovely cottage with everything we needed for our holiday with two small children. Great location to explore Dorset and close to excellent beach. Very friendly hosts made us feel really welcome. We'd love to stay there again.

The Cottage is everything that is promised and the owners are very charming and welcoming. There are many fantastic walks.

This is a very spacious cottage owned by very friendly farmers. It has a nice enclosed garden which was perfect for the dogs bordered on one side by a stone wall and the other by a fence. It tacks on to a horses field. The view from the bedrooms at the back accross the fields and hills is breathtaking and extremely quiet and peaceful. The Owners far exceeded expectations by supplying many extra's like milk in the fridge on arrival, fresh flowers and a laid out tea tray with biscuits. Supplies of dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid and a woodburner fire laid ready for use. It was extremely clean and comfortable. We enjoyed many an evening after a day exploring relaxing in the large lounge/diner. I would thoroughly recommend this cottage to anyone wanting a nice restful holiday. We would love to go again. Hopefully sometime soon.
