The Aval Loft
Oh my goodness, The Aval Loft is simply gorgeous! Nestled in the heart of the countryside with the most lush and awe inspiring views stretching out across rolling pastures, ancient woodland and dramatic Dartmoor in the distance, this luxury retreat is the perfect excuse for solo escapes, romantic breaks for two and your loyal pup is most welcome too. Wake up to the morning bird song, spend sunny days relaxing on the loungers interrupted only for a spot of lunch and evenings star-gazing at the celestial displays overhead, at this ultimate blissful 'escape to the country'.
From its humble origins as an apple store (Aval being Cornish for apple) the owners have left no stone unturned in creating luxury boutique style interiors to ensure you have the most indulgent of stays. Step over the threshold and the stresses and strains of everyday life will disappear in an instant. The stylish 'want for nothing' kitchen is a dream for any wannabe MasterChef, with meals served up on the breakfast-bar at the end of the kitchen island, also an ideal place for someone to perch if you believe that too many cooks can spoil the broth! The sitting-area has plenty of space to relax whether cosying up for a film night (there's a full Sky Q package to keep you entertained), snuggled up with a good book in front of the wood-burner or simply admiring the view.
You would not think it could get any better, but when it's time for bed the bedroom is stunning with a bed that is dressed to impress and so super comfy you won't want to get up and an en suite bath and shower room to match - it's quite a sanctuary.
The living accommodation is on the first floor to make the most of the views and can be entered by exterior steps but there's also a door to the ground floor bedroom which saves you having to lumber your bags and cases up and down the stairs - how convenient is that!
Outside, the terrace takes pride of place for you to enjoy the views with a table for relaxing meals in the sunshine and the most fabulous loungers that provide the perfect excuse to simply lie back and do absolutely nothing.
Nestled at the end of a private drive, the friendly owners are sometimes on site staying in their 16th Century home, on hand should you have any queries but leaving you to enjoy your break in peace and privacy.

Miss Knop
We stayed here during the heatwave ( 8-15 Aug.) and boy did we get lucky to end up here last minute. WHAT a stunning, comfortable and luxurious cottage to be in. My 17 month old small pup loved the garden, which was enclosed enough for him not to escape at all. Everything in this place is well thought through, every corner beautiful to look at. All equipment is topnotch, from the cappuccino coffeemaker, to the oven and washer/dryer. We literally had nothing to wish for, and the bedroom stays quite cool even during the heatwave. It is quite secluded, so perfect if you are seeking peace and comfort, then this is the place. And good eateries are on a 15-30 min drive, a river close by to walk your dog, and the sun loungers outside are just heaven to lie on. The owners really try their best to give you your privacy and they do come in handy in case of a panic. I would not have know what to do without them, when I accidentally locked my dog, phone and keys in the car. they kept their cool and helped me sort it out quite fast. This place gets a 10+ from us, it's the BEST and prettiest cottage I've ever been in. ( and I'm very picky. )

Aval Loft definitely had the "WOW" factor !!. Renovated to the highest of standards with attention paid to even the smallest of details made this a modern, luxurious , tranquil haven for our stay. Thankyou to the owners Gill & David , you have not left a stone un-turned in your beautiful, stunning property - our stay was just amazing.
Mr Berry
Both inside and outside have been decorated to very high standards with high quality furnishings and kitchen/bathroom equipment. An absolutely perfect "home from home" for a couple with a small dog! We will be back ....!
Mrs Owen
The cottage was amazing and everything was of a superb quality. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner outside and a couple of sunny days lazing on the most comfortable sunbeds. As this was our first 'adventure' since the start of COVID we decided to not venture out of our home county of Cornwall but we felt we were in a different world! We will certainly return again when we need to 'recharge the batteries'. Thoroughly recommend. Thank you

A beautifully cared for and thought through property with attention to detail. It is obvious that this place is cared for with enthusiasm. The location is peaceful with views over the countryside but would probably be challenging to find in the dark.! Owners were very helpful and welcoming. The outdoor area was also very pleasant.
