The Cob

We had a thoroughly enjoyable time staying in the Cob. The facilities were great and the location and surrounding countryside are truly something to behold. We particularly enjoyed walking around the fields of Leigh Farm and taking in the views from 'The Knoll'. Our Hosts were very friendly and receptive to our needs / requirements. They left us to our own devices but were available to answer any questions if required. We would thoroughly recommend staying at Leigh Farm should the opportunity arise. We aim to visit once again as soon as the opportunity arises.

A fantastic holiday let, with fabulous accommodation, lovely on-site hosts (only there if you need them, which is great), very well equipped. I wanted to move in! Only very one minor comment is that the bath mats were slightly damp smelling (not enough to be a complaint).

The Cob was undoubtedly one of the loveliest places we’ve ever stayed. It was spotless, spacious and very comfortable, everything had been thought of, right down to the DVDs which were great! The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. The location is so quiet and relaxing, we will definitely be back, thankyou for a wonderful stay.

The owners of the cottage were very friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. When we arrived they had left a cream tea for us which was a lovely touch. Lovely setting and amenities. Cottage was spotless. Will definitely book another holiday here.

We had such a lovely week in this property. Very peaceful rural location, delightful grounds including a wildlife pond, and The Cob itself was characterful, comfortable, clean and beautifully decorated. It made a great base for visiting both the coast and all parts of Dartmoor. The owners live on site and were super friendly and quick to respond (eg to replace a lightbulb) but were otherwise unobtrusive. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it and will be back ourselves.

Perfect for family holidays when you have all three cottages

Very spacious and well appointed cottage, comfortable, location stunning and very friendly and helpful owners. Be aware of very narrow country land on the way to this property, but we didn,t have to back too many times!

Fabulous, rustic cottage with great walks nearby. One of the most comfortable beds we ever slept in! Place and the host were just perfect.

We had the most wonderful holiday and are incredibly grateful - it was clear that absolutely every care had been taken to make sure we'd have everything we needed and it was really lovely. BBQs, a spare fridge, lamps, DVDs, so many thoughtful details. The houses were so comfortable and lovely to be in and the garden was just amazing. The hosts were so thoughtful, and your company is extremely helpful and easy to get hold of. We've already recommended it to friends and will definitely stay again. Thank you all - it was a really fantastic holiday.

So peaceful, lots of room, liked the dining room being separate, layout was lovely and plenty of space. The garden was lovely to sit out in, the owners were really nice and helpful. Plenty of parking. We had a brilliant holiday, the children loved it.

A lovely old cottage in beautiful surroundings. I’m the countryside yet close to local towns, Dartmoor, and the gorgeous Devon coast.

Wet lovely cottage, rural location but perfect for getting about up and down the coast

A perfect location on the edge of Dartmoor with very comfortable accommodation. We found it so peaceful and relaxing. It is far enough away from the main roads to be silent. A good base for walks on Dartmoor as well as around or from the farm and trips to the coast.Lovely welcome with cream tea. Hostess lives next door, and was very friendly and helpful but not at all intrusive. She recommended walks and maps for local sites.

The cob is a beautiful restored barn, with a magnificent landscape and garden. We really loved the beautiful alpacas, rabbits, pheasants and birds. Very peaceful and relaxing environment, with plenty of outdoor space to enjoy.

Lovely place with friendly landlords perfect for a quite vacation. If you don't mind driving a bit, there is lot's to see in the area - Canonteign Falls is nearby and a lovely place to visit.

A big thanks to Elena for a lovely stay and a warm welcome - cream tea was lovely too. Cottage was great, was a good size for us (6 adults and one child) and the very pretty grounds were a pleasure to wander round and immaculately kept. The use of the extra fridge freezers in the laundry room was a massive help to us in preparation for our daughters wedding. Would definitely stay in the cottages again if we in the area.

We had a very nice time in The Cob, it's a very comfortable en cosy house to stay in. Everything you might need is available. Really good beds. A very friendly and tasty welcome: there was a cream tea waiting for us in the diningroom. Really nice owners, we want to thank them again for their hospitality! We were welcomed warmly and cleanliness is top of the class. Had a great time and kids loved the fields around the cottage. Will visit again in future.

Lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings cut off from the hustle bustle ! Mr and Mrs Jamie are very kind and helpful owners and made us feel very welcome.

Owners Robin and Ellenor were very welcoming. We stayed in The Cob which was a lovely barn conversion in a most beautiful setting.

The cottage is extremely peaceful with a beautiful garden and plenty of space. It is easily accessible from the A38 and has a nice pub (Palk Arms) a 20 minute walk up the lane. The cottage is near splendid walking on Dartmoor and the coast is a short drive away.

This is such a stunning property and location, well worth the money.

Our group of ten stayed at both the Cobb and the Forge for seven nights. Both were very nice and provided everything we needed. We prepared breakfast and dinner for all of us in the Cobb on a few occasions and found everything we needed and were even able to seat all in the dining room. We enjoyed a nice fire with the firewood and fire starters provided. The location was close to main roads and with 2 or 3 cars we took trips each day. We explored Widecomb in the Moor, Haytor Vale, Mortenhamstead, Lydford gorge, Exeter, Dartmouth, Plymouth, and more. The town of chudleigh was close and had a few good grocery stores. The Phoenix was a good place for wifi. I would highly recommend Leigh farm. It was an excellent vacation and a great value.

The Cob is a lovely cottage in a stunning location. Whilst tucked away on the edge of Dartmoor, the Cob gives easy access to lots of places - Dartmoor and the South Devon Coast. I cannot recommend it enough - a really lovely place to stay.

The Cob proved to be an ideal base to explore the Dartmoor and South Devon. The cottage was fantastic and set in the beautiful surroundings of the Teign Valley. We would highly recommend The Cob to anyone looking for a quiet very comfortable holiday.

This property is in an idillic situation for peace and rest but does not equate to a `Four Star' rating which it could easily recieve if utensils and certain furnishings and white goods were upgraded. There were seven of us self catering and the kitchen utensils were inadequate. We are experienced in self catering holidays over fifty years.
