Tap Cottage
Within the bustling village of Stockbridge, this contemporary cottage has been renovated to an exceptional standard. There is so much to explore locally; with sites such as Salisbury Cathedral, Stonehenge, Avebury and Beaulieu all within easy reach, it's the perfect spot for a break away.
Inside this comfy cottage - once a drinking establishment known as The Tap Inn in the 19th Century - the interior has been thoughtfully put together to provide a touch of luxury. Take advantage of being in the heart of Stockbridge with plenty of places to shop, eat and drink on your doorstep. From the moment you step inside, you are greeted by a sense of homeliness. The bedroom on the ground floor is complemented with an en suite bathroom and the most comfortable bed. For those wanting to spend time catching up with friends and family, the sitting-room is perfect for this; in the winter the log-burner is lovely to cosy up in front of. The chef won't be disappointed with the beautiful kitchen and the dining nook means that they won't be lonely whilst creating some memorable meals.
The two remaining bedrooms are both upstairs - mind your head on the beam across the stairs - these rooms are equally as sumptuous as the ground floor bedroom. With both offering en suite shower-rooms, everyone has the opportunity for a moment of peace at the end of a busy day.
The courtyard will prove popular for those seeking an al fresco dining spot - take your morning coffee outside whilst you make plans for the day's adventure.

A delightfully smart & cosy cottage on the high street in Stockbridge, right next door to the Grosvenor Hotel.
All three bedrooms have en-suites and there is a downstairs toilet for guests.
We loved the sitting room and the kitchen (albeit quite small) and parking is free on the street in front of the cottage for ease of unpacking / shopping.
You are right in the middle of town and it’s easy walking on the flat for those less able.
A perfect little bolt hole for 4 to 6 people. Winchester & Salisbury are also close by.

The three double bedrooms and bathrooms were fantastic: really spacious and beautifully equipped. The walk-in showers were also excellent. So this property could sleep 6 in comfort. However in our opinion it is not designed to support self-catering for six. There is not enough seating in the living room or the kitchen to sit 6 in comfort. We had 4 and this was fine; 5 might work, at a pinch. If six are sleeping then you can always use the eateries in the high street - there is a fine selection of cafes, pubs and restaurants and the Grosvenor Hotel.
The compact kitchen was pretty well equipped with lots of knives and glasses, cups etc. It could do with a microwave and plastic (or acrylic) kitchenware to protect the non stick pans (only metal tools are available).
The walls are very thick, and the windows open so you can create a nice draft - as there is no air-conditioning and it was very hot outside when we were staying (circa 30 degrees heatwave) - so that ended up not being a problem. The Wifi was very efficient.
We had a lovely time and used the restaurants in the town which were all very good. We will certainly be back. Stockbridge is lovely.

A quirky cottage in the middle of Stockbridge. Kitchen/Living room small for six people but bedrooms and bathrooms excellent.
Outdoor space is poor and watch out for 2 hour bell ringing practice at church next door (Monday evening).
Mrs Whitmore
We had a truly fabulous week and Christmas celebration at Tap Cottage. Bedrooms are really comfortable and en-suites very useful for families with grown up children. Kitchen is small and missing some bits of kit but if you are prepared this won’t negatively affect you. Location on the High Street meant we could easily make use of Stockbridge’s marvellous shops, restaurants and pubs. Lots of lovely dog walks around, gorgeous decor and friendly, helpful staff at The Grosvenor made our stay easy, comfortable and memorable.

Tap Cottage is a stylish, well appointed cottage in bustling Stockbridge. Ideal location for our daily excursions to National Trust properties in Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire. There is also an excellent choice of restaurants minutes walk in either direction from the cottage door. We recommend the delicious food at the French restaurant Clos Du Marquis.
Tap Cottage is also attached to the Grosvenor Hotel with continuation of the stylish interior and a lovely rear courtyard restaurant and garden. There is access to therapy treatments at an additional cost. The linen was crisp, the beds large and comfortable, the bathrooms were modern with strong water pressure. All the above outweighed that there is road noise through Stockbridge at certain times of the day.
